Jennifer Lynn is a talented and versatile model from the Midwest. She is also the imaginative and inventive stylist behind Anomalous Designs. This allows her to the chance to create colorful and outrageous outfits, many of which she ends up modeling herself.
Stylists work like art directors - their main objective is to build the photo shoot around the clothing that is being featured.

A unique look is nothing more than a story put together really well, portrayed through the lens of a camera. In my opinion, the best way to get a unique look when working with stylists is to first ask them what they have in mind. See what types of clothing they have access to. Request a few photos of the outfits (or pictures of similar items) that they will be bringing so you can get an idea of what they are planning in advance.

A stylist can come up with a great concept, but to create a really unique look, the makeup, hair, and setting also need to be in line with the vision.

First, decide what type of makeup would go best with that look to give it an eye-catching twist.

Next, arm your hair stylist with details of what you have in mind, as well as photographs of possible looks for the hair design.

As for the set design, take the initiative and find a cool, funky, place to shoot at. You can also bring props that will add to the overall theme.

If you and the stylist can come up with a great concept or story, and if you can put together a cohesive hair style/makeup/set design, the photo shoot should be very successful.

Mikey Welsh, the 40-year-old former bassist for the rock band Weezer has been found dead in a Chicago hotel room. Welsh posted on his Twitter feed last week: "dreamt i died in chicago next weekend (heart attack in my sleep). need to write my will today."
Mikey was in the city last night to watch his old band headline RIOTfest show.

Illinois Fashion Designer Stephanie “Mizz Stefoni” Butts started out as a modern dancer at the Marshall Lindsey School of Dance and Charm. At the age of 7 years old Stephanie’s dance teacher Richardo Marshall Linsey introduced her to the runway. Modeling for many agencies and clothing companies, Stephanie felt that there was much more to her than just a unique pose or walk. 2001 is when she began to sketch her visions out on paper. After going to many boutiques looking for the perfect prom dress, she decided to make her own dress. Slipping and showing off her design to one of her high school girl friends, she found herself using the visions of her creativity to make other girls in her class as well as girls from other schools prom dresses fit for royalty. In 2005 the former dancer/model love for fashion inspired her to develop her own clothing line, from this love Stefoni was created.

Stefoni designs contemporary women ready-to-wear/couture creations. She combines a classic silhouette with modern elements, creating a fresh look that is fashionable for today's adventurous woman. TIME - Portrait of History The Zhou Brothers, the world renowned contemporary artists, will open their exhibition with their newest series of paintings titled “Time-Portrait of History” at the Zhou B Art Center in Chicago, on April 22nd. On January 18, 2011 the artists unveiled at the White House their most historical painting “The eight US Presidents and the Great Wall” to the President Barack Obama, as a national gift to His Excellency Hu Jintao, the President of China, on the occasion of the state visit to the White House. This painting was the first time in their artistic career where recognizable figures appear in their art. These figures are a stylistic representation of the eight American presidents who have governed since the opening of China’s relationship with the U.S. by President Nixon in 1972. This rare honor instigated a refocusing of creative interest in their own personal history which triggered the shift in direction in their latest series. A walk through history has a particular meaning to artists who have established an impressive carving into the world of contemporary art. Even more so is the case with the world-renowned artists the Zhou Brothers. They are as extraordinary as they are mysterious and while the Zhou Brothers are reaching enigmatic proportions we are taking a closer look at their artistic journey. The life of the Zhou Brothers further unfolds to the viewer in a more revealing fashion at their new exhibition. These paintings open a new window into their past, by adding new figurative elements with recognizable features of the artists themselves, as a self-portrait of their lives. At this latest show the new paintings deepen the meaning of the Zhou Brothers vision and myth. And, like all myths, it will not reveal itself, it will only settle into our subconscious, leaving us wanting to know more about their art and lives. How To Be Successful As A Model

Is ‘good looks' the only criteria needed to be met to make a successful entry into the modelling world? Maybe that is an interesting question you also should consider evaluating. We may have met many models and modelling aspirants who were very good looking with respect to their various body features. They were not very photogenic, and their physical beauty just did not flash across in their pictures. And, on the same note, you would probably be surprised by the fact that many of the fashion industry's best and brightest print models do not even command a second glance from the onlookers when on the street. Some of them are not in any way especially great looking when met raw and in person, but everything seems to combine together when they stand in front of the camera.

One school of thought is that either type of models, photogenic or not, do enjoy good careers. For instance, one might be perfect for the runway, while the photogenic model might work better for fashion prints and television commercials. The ideal model that is suited for almost any kind of modelling job is rarely seen. Yet even when some model has got all the right physical gifts that seem to be going well with them in a particular field of modeling, it probably will not be enough for these models to make it big there also. So, what does that mean? Barring the looks that are just the beginning, there is a lot more to this aspect. It is all about treating your career in modelling as a business, and not as a hobby. It can be said to be one about harnessing the amazing potential and power of your mind. It will definitely help a person get what he wants as a model.

And it is also about finding out that a model does not have to be physically perfect in order to find success as a model. There were a lot of drop dead gorgeous models, both men and women, who failed to attract long term success. And there is the other group, obviously less stunning models who went on to enjoy stardom and lucrative modelling careers. The difference had more to do with what that has been going on inside their heads. So what does all this mean for you as a model? It is as simple as this; the key to success in the modelling business is partly based on a model's natural physical gifts or features. At least, the factor that is equally important is the way a model uses his or her mind to move forward in their respective careers.

Initially it may take some time to find a good break in this profession, and a model needs to be patient and determined, until success beckons the model. Make it a point to attend all the casting calls and photo shoots. Even though established models sometimes keep people waiting, you being a rookie should not try such antics. With dedication and perseverance, a model can surely succeed.

Semi-famous actors (often people who've done a lot of commercials or character roles), writers and agents/managers with varying levels of scruples keep certain arts-themed publications filled with ads, week after week, promising to tell you the secrets... if you pay for their seminar, service or book. In fact, preying on the "wannabe" is a cottage industry in any field that puts up barriers to entry, be it the movies or publishing or the music industry. We look at these people much like the get-rich-quick gurus on late-night TV... it stands to reason that they make more money telling you how to get rich with their secrets than they do using them, otherwise they'd be too busy using them to have time to sell them to you for $49.95. The best advice we can give you are these few points...

Don't quit your day job. It can take years and you'll need money to live. Harrison Ford quit acting and worked in construction for a few years before coming back and getting his break. Bruce Willis was a waiter and bartender while he tried to get stage work in New York. Even people who seem to be overnight sensations played bit parts and struggled before they suddenly burst onto the scene in a prominent role.
A real agent or manager will not ask you for money (be it an "up-front fee" or "seed money"). They make money when they get you a job. Also, in California, talent agents must be licensed and there are laws governing their relationship with clients. Go to the unions, preferably SAG (Screen Actors Guild) or AFTRA (American Federation of Radio and Television Artists) or WGA (Writers Guild of America), and ask for their "franchised agency" list. You can buy it for a nominal fee or in some cases get it online for free. These lists will contain licensed agents who have signed contracts with the unions to follow specific rules when representing clients.
Take classes. It may be hard figuring out whether the $10 per session class is as good as the $100 per session class, and we can't help you there, but classes give you two benefits. First, they help you hone and perfect your craft, whatever branch of show biz you want to be in. Second, they will help flesh out a weak resume. If you don't have credits, you need classes. If you're wondering about the credits of the person teaching the class, look them up in our database. Except for writers on individual TV show episodes, we keep pretty good records.
Until you're commanding $20 million per film, you're not entitled to have a big ego. Don't reject parts you think are too small or insignificant because you're too busy looking for your big break. Judi Dench won an Oscar for six minutes of screen time.

If one can believe, most of these popular fashion agencies are not searching for glamour shots or any made-up photos all the time. They just want to see how the aspirant truly looks like, devoid of any make-up. However, the person’s complexion, health of the hair, teeth and figure are all vital when it comes to the different aspects of modelling.
It is recommended that you engage the services of some professional photographer to make a portfolio of pictures for you, and then take it to the model agency you are interested in. With the advent of the internet, the web sites of some big agencies have quite a bit to offer in regards to starting a career in the modelling field. These fashion model agencies will let you contact them via e-mail. And you will be required to attach a few photographs for screening purposes. In some instances, modelling agencies may even fly you out to conduct a test shoot.
