Nokia 6610i has been more like a friend and hence lots of fond memories *was* attached with it. I wonder how much dependent i have become on that device, not only i store phone numbers but also account numbers, PAN number etc. the most sad part is i dont remember my home phone number. So whats the lesson here?
a) Too much dependency on the digital storage media is dangerous so make copies somewhere else also.
b) Carelessness is mother of all the whining/cribbing/bitching ..

Have you ever tried out Sudoku if not then you should, it seems that Sudoku has become a sort of addiction to who ever started playing with it. Sudoku is a Japanese game meaning "numbers singly". An online version can be found here, welcome to the addiction.

On the similiar lines, there is this Flickr-SUDOKU. It works pretty simply, you choose a Flickr tag and a username if you wish. This will populate the puzzle with nine photos that you need to arrange so that each photo appears only once per line horizontal and vertical and the inner boxes. Simply Awesome! :)

Bookmarks ?? - A legacy-feature of saving URLs !!

I have this habit of saving URLs using the browser's 'Save Bookmark' feature (i dont know how to use 'Add Fav.'). So whenever i move to some other system i had to do an export/import. But from now onwards i dont have to coz i have hit upon MyWeb2 and must say it rocks.

In MyWeb2, apart from creating a bookmark you can save the page that you bookmarked, add tags that means you can give multiple categories/topics to the same URL, can have three levels of privacy ( Me, Friends and Everyone ) and of course can search.

A Short trip to Vizag

We went for a short trip to Vizag aka Vishakapattnam to see Venika's Twins (a boy and girl). It was so well planned that Senthil and I spent 90% of our time in the train ;) Two wonderful things happened one was seeing those two cute babies and the other watching green paddy fields throughout the journey. Vizag is a beautiful place bordered by Sea and Mountains, it would have been great if we had enough time to roam around.

My cousin is back

Today morning my cousin, Senthil, returned back from Bahrain. He was telling that the place is either too hot or too cold. Guess he had a hard time there. Anyways was nice to see him and also to see Satish & Vay who had come to receive him. He will be leaving to Trichy tonight.

Now .. my office system has Linux (Red Hat 9.0), but really not a time to celebrate as its not detecting the network card :( Anyways hope Rajagopalan, our System Administrator, does something about it. Meanwhile i am looking for the driver for this particular network card ( Broadcom network card for HP ). I have also managed to get the driver but unfortunately unable to install it.

Yesterday gave a visit to Sai Baba Temple at Mylapore which i usually do on Thursday nights, while returning back i hit upon a small cat :( It all happened so fast that i couldnt do anything but looked back to see it die with a last shiver. I went back to see if there was any sign of life left but unfortunately there was none. Left the poor chap by the side of the road and left cursing myself.

FM - Radio

I have been recently bitten by the FM bug. Radio Mirchi, Suryan & Rainbow are just great radio channels and listening to it while you drive (specially on a bike) is something which makes you forget the horrible traffic of Chennai and soothes your mind and body. Often it so happens that while listening to the music or the pep talk by these RJs you smile and then realise that someone is staring at you :)

Today i came across one of the postings in Sourceforge for FileZilla project. It read,

After clicking on the quickconnect button it connected to my server and shy as FZ3 still is, it stood just there looking at the server, uncertain what to do next. It's so damn cute :))

Is that not wonderful to read a statement like this? :) The admin of the Filezilla project admires every bit of the code (product) that he creates. He sees it as his child and admires this like a father seeing his son/daughter walking for the first time !!

CMM Level 4

Hurraaaaaaaaaaay !! We are now a CMM Level 4 company !! We are already a ISO 9001 company. It really makes us proud to work in such an organization. They say that these quality certifications will improve organizations and individuals in their software engineering management practices. I have been here in this company for last three months and I have been hearing a lot about quality but once I get a chance to implement it in my day to day work related activities then only we can know more about quality, its essence and admire its presence.

Weekends ??

Saturdays/Sundays, some also call it the weekends and say WOW its just great to have such wonderful days but at times i get bugged by these two days .. I mean the fun part if it happens is ok but most of the time either i am sitting idle or watching TV (again its another term given for sitting idle). I am thinking of taking a part time job on these days hopefully will be doing one soon.
