If you Split Reason you must walk around with a great sense of self-assurance. After all, when your video game controller looks like that you’re liable to have a bit of self confidence. Hell, that things looks cooler than what we saw in the second Transformer movie (frustratingly placed juvenile wrecking balls, anyone?).

If you’re thinking about buying this $18.95 shirt and would like to support this site please consider using the Militant Geek affiliate link when doing so. Otherwise, there’s always the plain jane link if that’s the way your ethical predilection swings. Also, if this isn’t quite up your alley be sure to give the previously featured Split Reason t-shirts featured on Militant Geek a moment. The level of creativity and polish with their designs certainly makes them one of my favorites.

The fall television schedule is now upon us. Thankfully, not everything on NBC has been replaced with Jay Leno’s chin… yet. There’s Heroes. Now granted, the series has been woefully hit-or-miss. However, this t-shirt from Inkable Planet is all awesome.

Featuring Hiro, our favorite superhero who-makes-the-constipated-face, the tee is a loving reference to another venerable franchise, Guitar Hero. The shirt will cost you $15 and is highly customizable. Be quick though – no telling if the Heroes writers are out to make this year the show’s last.

Me loves me some good information design. This cute Threadless t-shirt by Mitch Ansara does a respectable job at making things that could kill you look downright cuddly. And at $18 (as for most Threadless shirts) its the most adorable acid maiming available to buy on the market today.

Also for usual with Threadless tees if you’re interested in purchasing please consider using the MilitantGeek affiliate link when you check out – it’ll help this site. And just to make sure that there’s no conflict of interest, the plain ole normal link is also available.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to head off my own pending kablooie incident, having set off a burny a bit too close to my Glenn Beck inspired ammunition’s pile. Speaking of which, why is there no Glenn Beck warning here? Now that’s some dangerous schid.

What did people in 1930 think we would wear in the year 2000?

The Vintage Ad blog discovered this amazing gem on YouTube. Apparently, in the year 2000, we are (were?) supposed to wear lots of pants suits. And the world’s technology is spring powered.

Of course, keep an eye out for the attached phone. Somebody missed out on some serious cell phone royalties.

Something tells me that riffmaster18, the creator who won the recent design derby on shirt.woot.com with this lovely tee, is trying to work out some childhood lab inadequacies. At some point youthful indiscretion must have wrongly inspired him or her to heat toilet bowl cleaner over a Bunsen burner. The results, though hilarious enough to win a t-shirt contest, left them permanently disfigured. When not designing shirts riffmaster18 is forced to slave away at one of the few jobs he’s qualified for…

…a blue man group extra. Or so the story I just made up goes.

Because its a Woot! Shirt if you act quickly you can buy yours during their introductory period for a nice $10. Otherwise, wait a few days and pick it up when it becomes available for $15.

While I could attempt to come up with some funny Chuck-Norris inspired meme ridiculousness I don’t believe I could do better than what’s on this shirt. Not only is everyone’s favorite Huckabee-for-President supporter seen crushing a periodic table of elements. The wonderful shirt from Crazy Dog also bears the truthism:

“Chuck Norris Destroyed the Periodic Table Because He Only Recognizes the Element of Surprise”

As an additional bonus you don’t have to worry about the t-shirt suddenly disappearing as its officially licensed apparel. That’s right faithful believer – the design has been blessed by the beared one himself. Yours for $19.99.

On MilitantGeek I’ve come across quite a few Nintendo themed t-shirts. There’s a certain nostalgia for the classic games that is a sweet spot for t-shirt designers (and wearers). Recently, Tee Junction went and rounded up 50 of their favorite NES shirts.

There’s a nice diversity on display. In addition to the usual Mario/Princess/Light Gun wearables there’s also a Contra sighting, and some nice Zelda entries. Of course, fifty t-shirts is just the tip of the iceberg of what’s out there. What’s your favorite Nintendo themed tee? Leave a link in the comments…

To promote his latest album single electronic music artist Calvin Harris needed a gimmick. “Everyone loves a synthesizer made out of bikini clad girls”, Calvin thought, “But how to do it?”

Enter: Bare Conductive. Bare Conductive is a skin-safe, conductive material that can be painted on the skin. It was created by RCA Industrial Design and Engineering masters students Bibi Nelson, Becky Pilditch, Isabel Lizardi and Matt Johnson. It allows electricity to flow along the path created without shocking or harming the wearer.

For a better idea of the technology in action check out the video below:

From the writeup on CreativeReview:

The Humanthesizer consists of 34 pads on the floor which have been painted with the conductive ink and connected to a computer via some custom electronics created by the RCA’s Matt Johnson. The performers stand on the pads, and touch each other on the hands or body to complete a circuit and trigger a sound.

Much of the initial reaction are questions like “Does the ink work better when you’re a girl in a bikini?” and “Shouldn’t Calvin be in his undies to play?” Still, as far as misogyny in music videos goes this is pretty tame (unfortunately).

I have absolutely no idea what you would use this for (perhaps a set of t-shirts that light up when pressed together, ala the heart proximity tee?) But that shouldn’t diminish the cool factor of the electroconductive ink.

There was a time, not so long ago, when mushrooms were a pizza topping. Or herbal “remedy”. Then Mario came along and introduced millions of children to the mind (and body) expanding properties of eating mushrooms.

That is why Threadless is pleased to continue encouragement of conspicuous fungi consumption. “Nutritious Breakfast”, by Chow Hon Lam, is a wonderful reminder that no matter how sophisticated our gaming rigs get, 8-bit iconography will always look great on a shirt. As part of their Back-To-School sale you can get this tee for $15.
What happens when you tire of plain-jane Donkey Kong shirt homages? Make one with a Yeti instead (obviously). Gama-go has their Yeti Kong shirt available for $28. However, I think they didn’t go far enough. I would have loved to see Rudolph worked in here somewhere. And Hermey would have made the perfect damsel in distress with Yukon Cornelius as Mario’s replacement. An entire island of misfit toys could have served as the falling logs.

Oh well. Until they make that shirt, you’re stuck with a single Yeti.
