Everyday we learn something, knowingly or unknowingly. Some things we learn by our own life experiences while the others are inherited from our culture and upbringing. In this process we also come across some beliefs & thoughts which are not really needed to believe but still blindly followed by us without verifying it. When we consider and start accepting such beliefs & thoughts in our daily life then the birth of misconceptions, stereotypes and judgmental behavior takes place in the mind.

So today let us make our life a bit easier and get free from all misconceptions.

❌Misconception 1 : First impression is the last impression.

Often we have heard this statement in our professional as well as personal life. We always tend to take note of our personality while giving job interviews, meeting colleagues, attending office meetings, at our first date, attending social functions etc. All we do is try to look better & perfect to some extent. But as a result these days our life has become more imaginary than real. The conflict arises when we also start keeping expectations of being with the best one rather than being with the right one. The reason for many of today's increasing breakups and divorce is the difference perceived in first impression & last impression. As per the famous saying "First impression does not stand true in real life as someone who seem sweet at first can be the biggest snakes and the ones who seem arrogant & rude can actually be the nicest person". All we need is to be real to everyone we meet. Why some of us have fear of getting judged for showing up our real self ? When you stay with the person for longer time, exchange thoughts with them, travel with them then you get better idea of who you are being actually with. Don't get too attach with the illusion of perfectness but now on get attach with people's honesty, imperfections, humanity and ultimately their real self. Give each person some time of knowing to some extent before actually getting into relationship with them whether it is in the form of friendship, partnership or marriage. BE REAL, BE YOU.

❌Misconception 2 : We need friends to hangout and have fun.

The biggest misconception in millennial nowadays is waiting for someone's accompany to have fun. By depending upon someone we are also depending our happiness on them. We alone are enough. Loneliness is a blessing to have some time with our own self only. Spending time with friends is always a good idea but sometimes spending time with yourself would be a good idea too. Make a small change today. whenever you feel like going out, don't ask your friend to come with you but just plug your earphones in and you are good to go. Whenever you have cravings for your favorite food, get ready and take yourself on a date to the restaurant alone. Whenever you feel like travelling, pack your bag and travel solo. Things like dancing, reading a book and having your coffee, singing or it can be just sitting and doing nothing for sometime will also help you connect with yourself more & more. As we know science is a study based on facts & truth. Then what about the things which are not based on any facts & truths but still works tremendously ? We call it magic. This world brought us nearer to magic everyday in many ways. Magic can be in the form of anything we feel or see around us like air, water, land, universe, sun, moon, nature, animals, birds and one of the most important magic is YOU. Just look at yourself in the mirror, aren't you an extraordinary magic ? How perfectly our senses work and give us the feeling of living in the presence. How our minds have done wonders so far in this world. Science is what explored by mankind but magic is what explored by God. Hope you are staying healthy.

Among all the crisis 2020 has led to us, there is a hint to change something. Sometimes we get so much busy in going with the flow that we end up avoiding a moment to think for must required changes & issues which needs our attention or maybe we have felt the need but we always drop down the thought by thinking what I alone can do for this?

"Every pain comes with a lesson". So today let's take a time out to count on the lessons and come out more stronger and brighter afterwards.

Here are top 5 initiatives that each of us can adopt individually for better future of India.

1. Support local - Discover, Create, Consume & Export local

So what comes next after banning 59 Chinese application ? In a real sense, half of our success depends on voluntary support of local products & services over others without forceful ban from government. Remaining half of our success depends on how fast we are able to capture the problem and coming up with the innovative solution. We millennial are prone to google everything, so next time just google Indian products or consider barcode starting with number 890 (Indian country code) when you are about to buy something and if the alternatives are not available then do share it with your friends and family from that field to come up with relative alternatives and also spread the words through social media campaigns. Many of the countries such as Israel, Japan, Vietnam, South Korea have created history in terms of innovation and growth. Yes, it is true that government has played major role behind these countries success such as investing 4% to 5% of GDP on research & development, vocational training, skill development, maintaining stability in the economy to attract outside investment, infrastructure development and all. In India, we can't sit by expecting such big steps from government and even if we expect then it will going to take time but the question here is what we millennial can do from our side can change the history too. Self skill development can be done digitally or by connecting with the experts from different areas. Our mantra to support local should be "Discover, Create, Consume & Export". We Indians are frugal in nature and that is our strength because we know how to produce more with less resources. Indian market is so big in size that if we go on satisfying one need, we will be surpassing break even by just fulfilling some fraction of local demands and that is the reason other countries give preference to India and launch their products & services in India then why can't we catch that opportunity ?

2. Let's recycle - Waste isn't waste until we waste it

Why recycling is so much in demand at this point in 2020 ? Here are the FACTS : India generates 62 million tonnes of waste in a year and out of which only 43 million tonnes get collected and from that only 12 million tonnes of waste get recycled so remaining 31 million tonnes of waste drops straight into the junkyard. The waste is getting multiplied year by year and it is predicted to increase 165 million tonnes by 2030. This extra waste which is not getting recycled will require a land equals to whole city area. This happens due to the mix up of dry & wet waste and in the end the waste which was qualified for recycling get disrupted in the process. We can control waste generation by just segregating the dry waste & wet waste. Apart from that recycled products consume less energy to produce and waste less resources. The list of products which can be recycled are paper, cardboard, glass bottles, milk & juice cartons, plastic bottles, containers, steel, aluminium cans etc. Nowadays we can also search for so many startups producing innovative recycled products which are unique and admirable so that we can use more of recycled products in our daily life.

3. Educate one poor child in life - The light of hope

The report published by World Economic Forum on 19th January, 2020 highlights that "Indians born in low income family would take seven generations to even approach the country's mean income. Around 220 million Indians sustained on the expenditure level of less than Rs 32/day." The global social mobility index assessed 82 countries on the bases of health, quality of education, technology, work opportunities & wages, coverage of social protection and inclusive institutions. India ranked 76th among 82 countries. In the country of 1.38 billion people if we are educated, belongs to well settled family and have a privilege to lead comparatively good lifestyle then we are the one to do something for our fellow mates who are living in poverty. So now what can we do which can help them to survive longer and make them independent ? No amount of money and compassion can help them being independent the way education do. We millennial can help poor children in our free time by providing meaningful education/literacy which can at least help a child to take better future decision or else anytime in our life we can sponsor a study of one needy child whenever it is possible. If we have a dream to see better future of India then let's start by educating poor children and stand with them. India's strength is demographic dividend which means the share of working age people (youth) is more than non working age people (old age) so we have the power to make impact and alleviate poverty by following such simple mantra.

4. Let's go green

We millennial are passionate for our dream cars and bikes but do we know that bikes & scooters are 32% of air pollutants, diesel run trucks and private car accounts for 28% and 22% of air pollution respectively. Countries like Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Switzerland and Belgium have the majority bicycle riders and somehow this is one of the reasons for these country's pure environment. Let's also give a place to electric vehicles, ride share options, CNG vehicles, bicycles and public transport in our daily life and if the distance is not much then let's choose to walk. In addition to that we can also grow our favorite vegetables, plants & flowers if there is some outdoor space.

5. Encourage equality - Gender, caste, occupation & income equality

It's good to follow religion because ultimately it connects us with the spirituality but it's not good to be violent and create bias among people based on one's religion. Have you ever thought why are we living in such system where sections like minority and majority exist ? why are we all not equal ? why religion in India is becoming the reason for hatred ? In reality we are all same being blessed with the same nationality. We millennial are the one who can break this stigma of differences and partiality. Why don't we support additional financial investment and practical training to the needy people over reserve quota for marks & jobs ? One of the reasons for good brains & talented people leaving India being they are not getting what they deserve. The system needs to be changed and it will only change when we will raise our voice and start demanding 'right policies for right people'.

Career Counselling For 10th and 12th Pass Out!

First of all congratulations to all 10th & 12th pass out for entering into the new phase of life.

Today finally the time has come when you will be making your career decision. There must be a noise around you running regarding what to do next, healthy discussions going on and also for some of you clashes of opinions would have taken place with your friends and family.

In between all the noise & discussions around you i want you to just once go through some of the FACTS about choosing a career and how you can make a right decision for yourself after completion of 10th and 12th standard.

1. INTROSPECTION - The only right way to come out of confusion.

Introspection means an examination and observation of own self. People around you can only guide or consult you but the ultimate decision is what you have to take. Don't depend yourself on your friends or peers decision to choose a career. Give yourself a freedom today to choose what you love to do in life.

I would like to add here a letter from a school principle to all parents & students out there :

"Among all the students, There is an artist, who does not need to understand math.

There is an entrepreneur, who does not care about history or English literature.

There is a musician, whose chemistry marks won't matter.

There is an athlete, whose physical fitness is more important than physics.

Always remember you are here to achieve bigger things in life, exam & marks won't take away your dreams & talents"

Answer some of the following questions to introspect :

What are my interests or what hobbies do i enjoy the most ?
What skills (hard skill or soft skill) am i good at and what skills i want to develop ?
What are my strengths and weakness ?
What is my personality like am i a leader or a follower?
What are my values ?
What change do i want in my life ?
What is the purpose or goal of my life and why do i want to pursue them ?
Where do i see myself after 10 years ? etc.

2. Career path except engineering & MBA do exist

Majority of students opt for above mentioned highly known fields so as a result there is a severe competition running out there for employment in these areas because of the demand supply gap in the industry. Please do not think that doctors and engineers are the only happy people in the world. Happiness is not ever connected with degree but it is only connected within yourself. If you are really passionate & clear about choosing particular career path then this data would not ever affect you. The point here is to also consider and look at the various alternatives available out there as per your interests which are new and also in demand. Analyze and research about some of the future necessaries and potentials and select the one for which you are passionate about.

3. Scoring good marks would not be enough

High scores are limited to sheet of paper but high skills are limitless. Do enroll yourself in supplementary courses & activities related to your field which can help you adopt various skills and gain more practical knowledge. Your placements and future performance in anything you do will be dependent on your present hunger for learning new things. As Jack Ma (Founder of Alibaba.com) once said "You don't need to be in the top 3 in your class, being in the middle is fine, as long as your grades aren't too bad. only this kind of person has enough free time to learn other skills" So do concentrate on becoming better than before and differentiating yourself in the process.

4. Degree does not guarantee success

Degree does not guarantee success but your efforts & hard-work do. There is no benchmark about selecting a particular degree which can give you guaranteed success. Every stream is equally important whether it is science, arts, commerce or anything else. Passion drives success and that is why money is the by product that comes in with success. Even a person failed in academics can achieve big success by hard work & perseverance or a person who is highly educated without practical knowledge struggles a lot sometimes.

5. Self reliance

This criteria has been added to make you look on the bigger picture of upcoming future. As a developing country, India needs more job creators than job seekers. Every developing country is full of opportunities. We still have so much to discover so if possible learn with the spirit of doing something on your own. For example if you have opted for the field of software developer then do learn everything with the purpose of making a software which can be directly or indirectly beneficial to our country and this is actually how we will be one day able to become 'Atmanirbhar Bharat'.

At last i would like to conclude that whatever you choose in life, rejections and failures would be there but the one who tries one more time wins so don't let the fear of failing stops you from achieving great things in life.

Also last but not the least, keep yourself flexible enough to change as per any situation comes in. Remember the way an artist make good things out of stone by removing extra stone, the same way your happiness & prosperity hidden within yourself. Today let's challenge the stereotype of how people perceive physical appearance in this 21st century & give our self a reality check.

Have you ever thought that you are not getting what you deserve ?

If yes, then here is a quick mind refreshment for you..

Let me tell you the truth today that you are beautiful inside out no matter what you are - black, white, tall, short, fat, thin or anything. Each one of us deserve respect and each life is precious. As shree sudha murthy ji once said "If we want to be happy then we have to change our attitude, we can't change other people but we do change our attitude"

First of all, we need to understand that as every coin has two sides so does every mind has two sides too which includes consciousness of our mind to know what is right and what is wrong. Thoughts in our mind generates from the roots of our upbringing, social culture and past life experiences. Based on that further we form our own values, understandings and belief system.

Nowadays noise outside our mind has become so powerful that we unknowingly ignoring the consciousness of our own mind to decide what is right & wrong. When we actually do not think from our own mind but we do start overthinking based on the opinions of other's mind then gradually this repetitive nature start converting into habit and as a result depression, anxiety and insecurities tends to take place. Listen to your instincts and do not trap into the vicious cycle of people's judgments about you. Do actually follow what we millennial say it's none of our business what people think about us. We do have to listen others to improve ourselves but listen only of the right people who wish good for us, guide us to right path and believe in us.

Take a deep breath here.. The ultimate power of our mind is to think practically. Mind can become our best friend or best enemy beyond we could ever imagine.

From now on let's give importance to beautiful mind over beautiful face. We are the millennial and we have that power with us to give this world a true direction.

So many people advise to think positive or stay positive but no one tell actually how to stay positive and deal with other people. So now it's your time to learn and believe in yourself..

1. Embrace your uniqueness

Each & every individual is unique in this world so the question of comparing our self with others does not make sense whether we are comparing with better than us or not so better than us. Remember that whatever is unique about you is one of the most sexiest thing about you. Show it off the real you to the world with confidence in this era of makeup & zero figure and always carry your swag with you. Your uniqueness can also be anything quirky about you like your scars, your broken heart, your honesty, your real skin, your not so fit body etc. Let your weakness be your strength. decide your own standards and give this world a new definition of beauty in the real sense. Start feeling superior and do not let the inferiority of others lets you down.

2. Focus on your purpose

We are here to make a difference and contribute to the path of making this world a better place to live. Your knowledge, your passion, your attitude are the most important pillars which will drive you to fulfill your life purpose. There is a difference between purpose & goal. purpose is the one for which we have been sent to the earth or for which we are living. For example my purpose is to educate poor children so that they can be independent in their life too. Goal is considered to be the stepping stone of how we will achieve our purpose. Stay away from distractions and start giving more importance to knowledge rather than appearance. Look at the history of famous leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Swami Vivekananda, Amitabh Bachchan, Mark Zuckerberg, Ratan Tata, MS dhoni, Jack Ma and many more. You will able to clearly justify what they have overcome and how they have made a remarkable change. It will surely inspire you. Now it's your turn to turn every unturned opportunity into your favor. In this process of fulfilling our purpose, we will be sometimes pass through failures and bad situations also but we do not have to give up and keep on fighting with the same intensity and enthusiasm because the ultimate result is much more worthy than the temporary failures. remember " There will always be some people who will hate you, rate you, shake you, break you but how strong you stand is what makes you."

3. Help others and grow together

When a person help or lift others up, automatically he/she becomes more down to earth in this process. Do guide and direct people to the right path. As shree Indra nooyi ji once said "Throw your heart, mind and soul in whatever you are doing". Most admiring thing about human is heart. The single most superior benchmark to know the real person hide behind the face is by his/her heart. Heart consists of pure feelings, kindness and ultimate energy source provider to all our 5 senses. Do not let anyone down and do not make fun of them without knowing the mind condition of other person. The words we say may unknowingly hurt the person's feeling so be careful with your words.

4. Explore, Dream & Discover

The more you will explore this world, the more you will able to expand your mind & more confident you will become. Dream is the source of energy from which everything starts so keep on dreaming and be curious to know new things. Everything you see around you is the result of discoveries whether that is the mobile phone you are holding, the sofa or chair you are sitting on and the clothes you are wearing. In a true sense discoveries and innovations are the one which makes things easy or effortless. We have been, we are and we will be needing such discoveries every now & then so do involve yourself with one of it.

5. Meditate and peace everything out

Health is wealth so among all these life mantra, your health is the number one priority. Meditation will connect you with the existence of God in true sense. You eventually also spend the time with yourself when you are meditating. Exercise also helps to circulate blood in your body and provide oxygen to every organs of body so give exercise also a place in your daily routine. Most importantly meditation & exercise will make your mind more strong. Start your day with healthy mind and love yourself always the way you are claiming to love your crush.

I hope from now when next time people force you with their so called judgments and makes you feel like a left over, you will listen & believe yourself only. Also enjoy every moment, stay in present, be crazy and do not forget to thank God for giving you the precious gift called 'LIFE'
