We have a new logo! well not too new but different to the picture of my youngest, milly when she was a baby (she is almost 3 now - time flies like a demon!) It is now a vinty style pic of a little babe on a wooden horse, being led along by a duckling. Milly will still hang around here and there on the blog, and website, but the main pic on our facebook page, and all of our tags and stationery will be the happy babe. I fell in love with this the first time i saw it. And i hope you like it too.
We have also done an overhaul of our website and online shop. More colourful, and the shop, a little more organised. We are slowly adding more items to the shop. If you have any photos of your little ones - or yourself, wearing millymoo items, i would love to add them to our photo page on the website. I hope you enjoy the new look millymoo. take care - sam

So many ideas, So little time!

I know. Everyone wishes for more time in the day. We know there are only 24 hours to use up, but why are we always wanting more. Most would like at least 8 of those to be sleep anyway. But if like me, its more like 'i'll take anything!' No matter what you do in your life, if you have things to do, they never get completely done - unless, of course, you live in TV land!

My dilemma is being a full time mum, and running a home based 'hobby' business. I love doing both and put as much as i can in to what needs to be done. But do you (finally) get to bed and still think of what else you couldve done? Me, I lie in bed and design more things for milly moo - and evilevie. Then i think of what the kids will be wearing, then i think i can make them more clothes, then i have to go to get more material to make them, etc etc etc! Then a kids wakes up, and i want to bang my head on the wall, until i get a lovely cuddle from them :) Also, have you ever wanted to wake your child up and cuddle them, just because they look like an angel. But know that you cant because they will never get back to sleep?!

Most people have a dream diary beside their bed, but ive gone one (weird) step further, and have put an ideas diary beside mine. This is where i can get it out of my brain all of the ideas that pop into it, and onto paper. Mostly so i can remember what it was when i do think of doing it. This notebook is full of scribbles of patterns, pictures of how a garment should look like, what to call a new bow, and alot of other stuff that is illegible because it is written in the dark and with a sleepy hand! I find it to be very handy when i get a creative block, or someone asks for 'something different'. Do any of you have any crazy (sorry) simple ideas that helps you through your designing?

October is a big month this year, not only is Halloween on (WOOHOO), but everything turns pink for Breast Cancer Awareness, RUOK Day on the 8th, and of course the Commonwealth Games - GO AUSSIES!

So I will be alternating the Facebook page picture to a bright pink, and to a great drawing of our logo by foxtel, dehli yourself, and follow the games on facebook.

Hi, its been so long since i have posted any news on this blog. Been pretty busy with orders and family life and i have let the website and blog be near the bottom of my list. All that aside, my oldest daughter and her friends (tweens) have told me that they love all the hair bows that i make, but they feel odd having to buy them from a little kids shop. It got me thinking, and noticed that alot of stuff was being bought by 'grown ups' for themselves.
I have a love for all things retro, rockabilly and would secretly love to be a pin up girl, and decided that the hair accessories i make for myself and for the little rock chick i gave birth to, i would also make for you guys.

Mid Year Already!!

The middle of the year - time certainly flys doesnt it!! Its a great time of year with all the sales on, but if you are like me and hate pushing to find the right size in a very small stack of clothes available, online is the perfect place.

Here in Adelaide its sooooo cold, i would prefer to stay in my jammies and have a hot cuppa as i browse the treasures online! Obvious fav is ebay or oztion, but visit deals direct and OO when looking for cool gadgets for my kids.

Being Wednesday, there is a fantastic store on Facebook called LCB Toys and Decor (chatterbox Toys) that have a 'wicked wednesday big night in' sale around 7.30pm. You have to be quick on the draw commenting on the photos of items available as they go REALLY fast. I have on a couple of occasions been quick enough, and have purchased some wooden threaders in animal shapes. They are great for the younger kids fine motor skills, and keep them busy and quiet in the car!! BONUS!!! My youngest son loves cooking and he received some wooden cooking utensils also from LCB for his birthday. TEA PARTY SETS

Does your little one like to pretend play? Mine do, so i decided to make some fun for my 3 youngest (2boys and 1 girl). I came up with a tea party theme, with cupcakes galore, napkins, spoons, cookies, tea bags (aptly named 'heartwarming tea') and sugar cubes. It was a big hit - the boys even wore the pearl bracelets! But they did say they were super hero protective bands - i know! I've grouped items together in sets to purchase or seperate so you can choose what you want. Its a great 'dainty' afternoon with tea and cupcakes, just you and your little one - or maybe get daddy in on the act :D

Earrings on my lazy day

Hi guys! I had a lazy day day today (for me meaning that steven ran around after the kids while i vegged) But i did get some making time in between reading, sleeping etc :) Soooo, today i decided to make some earrings from some really cool buttons i bought a couple of weeks ago. my intention for them were to go in the center of bows, but i went in totally different direction - suppose they still go in the general head area :) So far there are 3 styles available - black cat, pink skulls and white swallows. I also made some more button hair ties from fleece materials. They are available online now at millymooaustralia.com. I will make up some more when i snap out of this vegetative state. ahhhhhhh, who wants a hot chocolate?

I have been creative this week (wonders will never cease!) and added new items to our online store -

1. Rockabilly large fabric hair bows. This is where the tweens come in. Made with cotton fabrics in vintage, retro and very cool prints, all put on a bendy snap clip. For sizes, there are some pics of Natalie wearing one in the photo section.

2. YoYo Hair clips - LETS GO RETRO! Cotton fabrics are used with vintage/retro prints and topped with a matching button. all on a bendy snap clip, photos online too.

3. Fabric Button Hair sets - fabric covered buttons attached to elastic and hair clips. One hair tie and one clip in each set. Skulls and pretty prints to choose from.

Halloween 09

OMG!! how insane is Halloween. I dont know how my parents did the whole kit and caboodle every year in Ireland! It was the first year we took all 5 kids trick or treating and it was great - except for the few who slammed doors in their faces, but like the little troopers they are, they continued to the next house, bags open wide for lollies. Then came the onslaught of neighbourhood kids to our place wanting lollies, at one stage i was ready to break out the sultanas as the bowl was starting to look scarce! Ended up with lots of lollies for mum and dad to eat when the kids are asleep :P
