A Parent's Dilemma in Choosing the Right Learning Exercises Program for their Child

The key to understanding how to assist a child is determining where their weaknesses and their strengths are and then implementing therapy and teaching strategies designed specifically on the individual student's profiles. This writer has found in her professional practice that the majority of educators and other teaching specialists truly are concerned about the children they work with and want their students to be successful in the classroom. However, the constraints of curriculum guidelines, class schedules and the lack of training put them at a loss in knowing how to teach those children that do not learn in traditional ways.

When a parent searches the term "learning problem", sites found most often direct him or her to further subcategorize the issue(s) as comprehension problems, dyslexia, spelling difficulty, attention span, etc.. Parents are left to wonder, "Does my child have a learning disability or is he/she just lazy?"..."Why doesn't my child have the same good grades as his/her siblings or friends." They leave parent-teacher meetings with discussions of test results, grade worksheets, and learning activities no less confused in how best to help their child. These parents spend countless hours researching possible remedial programs that may assist their children. There are so many...where does one begin?

When searching for the best method of learning exercises, one can find a vast array of programs which promote their own organized method of learning remediation. Some of the more noted programs are Sylvan Learning Centers, Huntington Learning Centers, Fast ForWord, Earobics, Lindamood-Bell, and so on. But how does one know which learning program is right for their child?

Identifying the root, or source of the problem is the key to knowing which program is right for a very specific, very individualized style of learning, instead of masking the problem with a coping technique or compensatory strategy. My clinical experience leads me to recommend the development of a "whole-child" assessment to determine where in the neurological process the learning deficit originates and to then establish the style of learning most appropriate for the child. Then, the learning therapies and/or treatment approach can be designed to accommodate specific needs.

The human brain is a complex, but extremely interesting organ of the body that works systematically as a whole. Many factors contribute to its abilities to learn and function. Brain learning happens through environmental influences, genetic networks, and by way of experiences. Those who study the theory of brain-based learning believe that learning is best achieved when the brain is stimulated through a variety of senses and combined processing experiences.

The functions of the brain and how differently they learn from individual to individual remains a mystery to many in the field of neuroscience. But what is clear is that we all process and learn information in our own, unique ways. What may be an appropriate way of learning for one, may be inadequate for another. Some individuals learn through their visual senses, or "seeing" the process in action. Auditory learners gain understanding through hearing new information. Others may need to touch and feel the concept that is being taught. And then there are those who learn through body movements and expression of self in space. In actuality, most children (and adults) use several styles of learning at the same time to accomplish their learning needs. Identifying learning strengths is one part to program selection. The next step to this process is determining the areas of neurological weakness that actually needs remediation.

Learning deficits are often grouped into different areas of processing weakness. A processing deficit interferes with the way a person understands the information presented to them. This can occur in the processing of visual, hearing, or motor information and in the presence of normal hearing, vision, and motor skills. One who struggles in learning may display problems in the following processes: in the speed of which the brain transfers information from area to area;, in the ability to attend and stay on task; in the way that auditory information is adequately processed and made sense of; in the ability to remember information and retrieve it as needed; in the ability to visually create and picture information in the mind; and in the ability to use language information for reasoning and application.

Knowing where to start begins with finding a professional that understands learning styles and processing deficits. This assistance can be found in speech therapy, occupational therapy, and specialized learning clinics as well as through on-line consultative services that are becoming more affordable and convenient where needed services are not geographically available.

Do know from the very start that making a change in your child will mean making a sacrifice of time, money, and patience. There are usually no quick fixes - no magical cures. However, the investment made in a loved one's learning applications will be so rewarding in the end. It will definitely be worth the sacrifice
As a Speech/Language Pathologist of any years and one who has a goal to assist as many struggling learners as possible, I would like to share a quote from a mother who had been given no hope by her daughter's teachers that her little girl would ever be able to learn to read. "I knew there was a way she could learn to read, it just took finding the person that knew how to make that happen." This little girl is now reading almost on grade level and is close to being dismissed from her Learning Disabilities-Special Education Program.
In summary, many children, or adults for that matter, who demonstrate struggles in their abilities to learn skills such as reading, spelling, writing, and mathematical application can be helped. By seeking out the assistance of professional that specialize in learning style exercises and processing therapy the appropriate program, or combination of programs can be of invaluable asset to the intervention plan. There is hope for the struggling learner! With correct diagnosis, children dealing with the affects of learning disorders can achieve more productively and effectively in their pursuit of personal life goals and ambitions.
Even though its popularity is jumping through the roof, there is still some mystery surrounding whether or not brainwave entrainment is really safe to use.

The answer is that for most people, it is completely safe and actually very effective. It is not something new. In fact different forms of brainwave entrainment including binaural beats have been documented and researched for over 170 years. It has become one of the safest self-development tools on the market.

All brainwave entrainment does is work directly with our brainwaves. Brainwaves are naturally occurring and we all have the potential to experience the extreme benefits that binaural beats and brainwave entrainment can provide for us. They are not addictive or abusive and they simply work at training the brain to work at a much deeper and clearer level.

Who Should Not use Brainwave Entrainment Products
There are a small percentage of people who should not use binaural beats. These include:

People who suffer from seizures - When someone suffers from seizures they experience abnormal electrical impulses from the brain. The repeated sound of pulsing from binaural beats could actually trigger an epileptic seizure or other types of seizures.

People engaged in certain activities - Brainwave entrainment should never be used while operating machinery, cooking, driving, or while performing any type of activity where it would be very dangerous to fall asleep.

People who suffer from heart problems - If you have heart problems or use a pacemaker it would be wise to stay away from using binaural beats. Changes in brainwaves can cause changes in heart rhythms. Consult with your doctor if you really want to use entrainment products.

Children - There have been studies that have been done with children and binaural beats with no issues. However it is not recommended that children use binaural beats as they are at higher risk of seizures.

Women who are pregnant - These products are not recommended for those who are pregnant. Wait until after the baby is born to listen to your binaural beats.

For most others there is absolutely no problem with using brainwave entrainment software. There are so many benefits that come from training the mind and working with the subconscious and there are lots of products on the market to choose from that will provide long lasting results.

They can also help develop reading skills and in emotional child development but you may not be aware that they also act as a form of hypnosis. In which case the content of some of the bedtime stories we share with our children may need to be re considered.

Research around brain waves has revealed that there are 4 main wavelengths or types of brainwaves, Delta, Theta, Alpha and Beta.

As adults we spend most of our time in the alert Beta state. When we are dreaming, in deep hypnosis, meditating, or "in the zone" such as occasionally occurs in sports or music, we enter the Theta state. This also happens as we are drifting into sleep and just as we are waking up.

It is at these times, according to personal development experts, that practices such as to repeat affirmations, use visualisation or review our goals are most effective. Because we are in the Theta state, the positive messages get past the filters of the conscious mind and can plant helpful suggestions directly into the subconscious.

When a child is between the ages of 2 and 6, their brainwaves are predominantly in the Theta state, which helps explains their rich imagination and creativity at this stage of child development. From six to twelve years of age, children's brainwaves accelerate to the Alpha state. As adults the Alpha state occurs when we meditate, daydream or enter the lighter states of hypnosis or highway hypnosis as you may have experienced when you drift off when driving a familiar route.

Children between 2 and 12 therefore, are typically in the same brainwave states as adults are when in hypnosis, meditation or day dreaming. Which are precisely the states where we become most suggestible.
What makes this even more important is that bedtime stories are the last thing your child will hear before falling asleep and will play in the subconscious part of their mind all night.

During the golden age of child development, where they unquestionably believes in magic, Father Christmas and the Tooth Fairy, you have a golden opportunity to program them for maximum success. Or, on the contrary, careless, negative words and influences can become harmful hypnotic suggestions that form powerful obstacles to the developing personality. Even after children begin to reach the age of reason they generally go in and out of hypnosis fairly regularly, using their imaginations to amuse themselves and spending a lot of time "in their own little worlds".

"Perhaps, the best way to understand the importance of bedtime stories is to look back and recall some of your own favourite stories from childhood," says Sandra Dye, Psychotherapist and Child Expert, Developer of the:5-Step Parenting System - Stay Connected To Have Influence. "As an adult, you may even notice that some of the messages in your favourite stories have played out in your life in some instrumental way".

What becomes clear therefore is the need to be very aware of the suggestions we are giving our children that will have an effect on their adult life. Are you for example through bedtime stories, suggesting to your children that the world is full of opportunity or a scary place?

The Financial Fairy Tales series of books for example have been written to help empower children through the discovery of positive values and life affirming messages around money and business.

Consider carefully the positive beliefs and values that you would wish your children to grow up with. Whether developing their self image, confidence or their understanding about what is possible or beyond their reach. Positive, empowering messages will create positive, empowering beliefs.
Subliminal downloads are rapidly increasing in popularity as a result of it's partially effortless nature. On a fundamental level all subliminal audio messages are, are affirmations recorded on an audio file, and made subliminal. Therefore you don't audibly hear the affirmations whatsoever, nonetheless the phrases do still enter your unconscious mind directly, so when these statements build (just like affirmations would) they will start to change your belief systems and behavior on a deeper level.

The Benefits of Subliminal Audio
This quite simply means that rather than waking up and standing at the mirror for a few minutes each morning and then for a second time at night time saying your own positive affirmations you can instead use subliminal messages instead. The result will be the same, only with the increased advantage that you can listen to mp3s without anyone's knowledge and let the affirmations to naturally flow straight into your subconscious mind as you do other tasks - perhaps while watching television, working, studying, or maybe exercising.

This is not to say that using subliminal messages are going to be totally effortless in themselves - you still need to take some proactive conscious action towards your objectives, but they will , boost your motivation and willpower, and make you more likely to succeed. This change isn't really instant, but ordinarily happens within just several days to a few weeks. You will notice mild adjustments in your thoughts to begin with that will grow until you see a genuine change in your self beliefs and ways of thinking.

Just like positive affirmations they enable you to develop in just about any area - from maximizing your law of attraction success rate to improving upon your intelligence.

So if you're experienced with using affirmations you should know what to expect from subliminals - the result will not magical, it will produce a similar result, only with the benefit of saving you some time .

Subliminal mp3s are swiftly increasing in reputation thanks to it's partially effortless nature. On a basic level all subliminal audio messages are, are affirmations recorded onto an audio file, and made subliminal, i.e. the affirmations are moved to a lower sound frequency. This means that you won't audibly hear any voices at all, even so the phrases do still get into your unconscious mind directly, and as these statements start to build (in the same way positive would) they will start to modify your beliefs and habits on a deeper level.

The Benefits of Subliminal MP3s
So rather than standing at the mirror saying affirmations over and over you can get on with your day - subliminal messages can save you lots of time. The actual result will probably be comparable, only with the additional advantage that you can put on the mp3s without anyone's knowledge and let the affirmations to naturally sink directly into your subconscious mind as you carry out alternative activities - while resting, perhaps while working and even studying.

This is not to say that using subliminal messages are going to be entirely effortless in themselves - you will still have to take some conscious action to achieve your goals, however they will the cutting edge, boost your motivation and self-discipline, and make you more prone to be successful. This change happens naturally - your thoughts change from the inside-out and over the period of a couple of weeks you will observe a real enhancement in your self beliefs, patterns of thinking, and in many cases your behavior.

The same as positive affirmations they can be advantageous and help you in numerous areas - from weight loss to improving your levels of self esteem, and even to help your performance in sports.

To summarize, subliminal messages will not be a miracle alternative, but they generally produce a comparable result - without the need to keep repeating the affirmations yourself, give it a try yourself and experience it first hand.
Without the right mental attitude, achieving anything is an uphill battle that is more difficult than it has to be.

Changing a mental attitude for the better is something that can affect all aspects of a person's life. It can allow one to feel in control of life and give a person the self esteem to make the changes desired.

Improving Your Attitude
If personal development begins with changing a mental attitude, attitude changing begins by believing that it can be changed. Many people accept a negative attitude as being a normal part of their lives instead of a choice that has been made. It is vital to successfully meeting personal development goals to make the choice to have a positive attitude.

With a positive mental attitude, just about anything is possible. Each day the decision can be made to see everything positively, even if the day doesn't go quite as planned. Looking at everything through this outlook makes experiences better and the future seem brighter.

Once the decision is made to see things positively and to carry a mental attitude that reflects that, throughout the day, goals that may have seemed far-fetched before will seem reachable. This means better success in achieving goals and a happier outlook on life.

Self Improvement
Part of achieving any goal is to believe that you can achieve it. Using self affirmations that help to reinforce positive ideas can help you to have a more positive attitude. This, then, makes goal setting easier. Keep telling yourself that you are able to meet these goals with your own skills and talents.

With goals in mind, it is possible to take positive action toward self improvement. Setting short-term and long-term goals can help along the way, providing plenty of milestones to meet in order to build self confidence.

Self confidence is essential in the business world, but that confidence doesn't always come from the business world. Sometimes, self confidence is dependent on very personal criteria. It may be a weight loss goal, a personal skill-set goal or another personal achievement that can give you the confidence to make achievements in business.

Staying Motivated
With confidence and a good attitude comes motivation. Seeing the end goal and believing that it can be met is a great motivator to get things done. To continue to stay on track, continue setting goals after the first goals are met. They may be small things to accomplish, but they are milestones that can be met and conquered for your own self esteem and personal development.
When choosing educational toys for your child, you also want to select ones that will benefit your child the most. The problem is that the "best" educational toys can meet different criteria for different children. Here are some features that you should consider in your quest for finding toys that will teach your child effectively and responsibly:

1. Educational toys that maintain your child's health and safety
It's crucial to keep your child safe while he or she is learning via educational toys. This is true of both "traditional" toys and high-tech ones. Ensure that toys are made of safe materials that lack parts and chemicals that could be harmful to your child. Plastics should be of a particular concern. While today's toy companies often use cheap plastics to cut their production costs, experts have linked some of the chemicals used in these toys to serious illness.

2. Educational toys that are effective
By definition, educational toys should teach. Unfortunately, some toys don't teach effectively, and some don't teach at all! So look for educational toys that boost your child's knowledge base and can do so efficiently. Unfortunately, too often we don't learn how ineffective a toy is, until after we've spent a small fortune on it. So do your homework before buying educational toys for your tot. Read reviews and ask your friends and relatives which toys have been most effective for their own children. As a word of caution, keep in mind that many so-called "educational" toys are quite entertaining, but don't actually teach anything.

3. Educational toys that are age-specific
Yes, some children's physical and cognitive development is faster or slower than the rate that's typical for kids their age. But generally children arrive at certain developmental milestones, at roughly the same time. So look for toys that are designed for specific age groups. This will help to maximise a toy's learning potential for your child. You can usually find these recommendations printed on the toy's packaging.

4. Educational toys that are fun.
Unfortunately, many of us have been conditioned to believe that learning can't be fun. Well, it CAN be! If your child is having fun while learning, then his or her motivational level will be optimized, thus optimizing how much learning occurs. From building blocks to educational software, if children are having fun, then they'll stay engaged in the activities. Meanwhile, if toys are boring then your child will likely set them aside just as they would other "not fun" toys.

5. Educational toys that are eco-friendly.
Look for toys that can be partially or fully recycled. Too many toys end up in landfills, where they emit chemicals that are harmful to the environment and the people in it. By choosing toys that can be recycled, you're not only benefiting your children, but also the world at large.

Finding the "best" educational toy will require you to do your homework. But the end result is that your child will learn, and that learning won't just benefit him or her.
Do you think these differences are based on bodily size, or do they just come from our heritage along with experience and education? Or some of all of the above?

"Great minds discuss ideas; Average minds discuss events; Small minds discuss people." ~ Eleanor Roosevelt
Some learned minds consider intelligence to be a fixed thing that we are born with and yet, we have seen the development in increased attention, in memory, in judgment and in our ability to unfold more intelligence than we were at our births. We have seen minds - starting with our own - become developed through training, experience and that unseen force called personal effort. We have seen some individuals exceed all that was expected of them.

Is there one way that is more accurate than any other in considering individual differences? Business people have a settled sense about the contribution of genetics or environment when it comes to how productive their employees are, and about how to improve this performance.

Your philosophy about all this has a profound impact on your success. Your "I can't" concepts can lock you into your current spot and you can move beyond that spot by changing to an "I can" concept. You might surprise yourself.

If you have a set series of beliefs captioned "This Is How I AM" and you also hold the belief "This Is How's It's Always Going To Be", you have what is referred to as a fixed mindset. You think: "This Is All I Can Accomplish." This mindset is limiting.

There is another way of being called the growth mindset. The growth mindset can see opportunities; it knows about capabilities; it isn't afraid of being "caught out" deficient. The growth mindset thinks: I can change and grow through application and experience. Having a growth mindset works really well to foster more success in business, vs. having a fixed mindset.

It's not possible to see your own end point from here or how far you'll get along the progress time line, but if you believe "I can develop into much more" you'll move far along that line. These tips will help you achieve a growth mindset and then experience more success:

- Look for friends who will encourage you to stretch, to grow in areas formerly not even thought of.
- Decide that you will consciously work to go beyond where your achievements are right now.
- Promise yourself that you will persevere through thick and thin.

Even when my Big Dream looked impossible, I continued to search for ways to make it come true for me. Having a group of friends that you can lean into will help you stay fresh, keep up with technology, use the concepts that others used to become successful. I looked for folks ahead of me on the path so that I could augment improvements to help me get to my next bigger vision. I found my perfect levels of rest, exercise, nutrition to support my own dreams. I became aware of my own mindset when it came to improvement and that's what I'm sharing with you because it seems to have worked for me. I'd love to think that these suggestions to absorb how wonderful you and your individual differences are and put these ideas to work to celebrate those differences.
So what is mental toughness? It is the desire of taking control of your emotions in performance situations. Some people claim that they work well under pressure. My mentors often argue that the statement is a myth, and pressure can actually hurt you. With added pressure, the chances are high that you will start having negative self-talk, and then lose belief in your ability to complete a task or project.

Some people appear to perform well under pressure. While a number of people may perceive some situations as pressure filled, the person who seems to perform well has a different perception on the level of threat of that particular situation. In other words, they excel under stressful situations because they can control their self-perception of it. That is, they learn to control their emotions because they have developed mental toughness.

Everyone is born with mental toughness, but how do you go about developing mental toughness? While some may not believe they were born with it, picture yourself in the following scenario. Suppose you had a bad day at work, and the only thing you can think about are the numerous problems stacked on top of one another. Your mind is scattered all over the place, and you don't seem to have a clue where your life is headed. Let's say you're driving, and as you approach home, you see a house on fire. You notice that it's your house burning down. You try to get close, but the fireman won't let you through. You're told it's too dangerous, but you know your kids are in there. What would you do? I'm sure you would choose to ignore the firemen and fight your way through the fire and do whatever you can to get the kids out. Your mind forgets everything else and you lose all your fears because your mind is so laser focused on bringing your kids to safety.

This is called mental toughness, where you focus all your energy and attention on one single task. So if we're born with mental toughness, why isn't everyone achieving great results? The problem is that most people have no clue what they want, or a compelling enough reason to fight for it, just like trying to save your kids from a burning house. They are not developing mental toughness. Mental energy is scattered all over the place, and they watch life go by instead of living it.

So if you truly want to achieve great things, you need to decide what you really want and why you want it. Uncover the emotional fire within, and convert that fire into motivation that will propel you to take the necessary steps to succeed. Ambition is not the only thing that fuels success, but it's the emotional power and feeling that you get from a winning experience. Take the time and think of what you really desire. If it doesn't excite you emotionally, then forget it. You need that emotion to sustain motivation and overcome obstacles that get in your way. Once you have this burning desire, you will start developing your mental toughness and stay laser focused on your goals.
Even in older people, it can re-grow new neurons. Serious mental decline is generally caused by some diseases, whereas most age-related memory loss is simply caused by an idle mind. The rule of thumb is: "use it or lose it."

It was just recently that brain scientists and psychologist have been able to document how the brain network forms the whole mass of memory. Beginning in the mother's womb throughout the advanced stages of life, the brain network never stops in expanding to adapt and learn. You can observe the inside of the brain at a cellular degree and you will find out how a mere mass of grey matter works and allow us to learn.

The most important thing to remember in order to recall some hard data is to create an association and linkages that shall facilitate memory. This is why almost anyone with an average brain can also significantly enhance their skills to remember objects using mnemonics. While creating a memory temple, as an example, requires a person to recall more, by relating the things that need to be remembered with other things such as emotions, metal strikes etc.
Unfortunately, there are numerous information that one should remember today since the boom of information technology and the development of the modern world. While writing is a very good mode for complex discourse, our brains cannot easily document written information accurately.

The best method is to code information using regular images that we can reliably extract information. Since these images are very common, they are easily utilized to recall information that we need.

Our imagination is what we use to create memory aids that are effective. The more we use our imagination and see the image, the more it will thoroughly stick to our mind for later use. The image we use in mnemonics can be clear, pleasant, funny, exaggerated or sensual as long as it can help you remember information.

A good memory is essential for everyone. From schooling to the later stage of life, having a sharp memory will give you a lot of benefits. There are some simple things that you can do to improve your memory. Remember that the brain is also composed of brain cells and neurons that need to be nourished with natural nutrients, vitamins, and minerals. If you really want to improve and sharpen your memory, you can do simple healthy habits that are quite easy to memorize.

You have probably heard of the idea that a healthy diet based on healthy foods composed of fruits and vegetables and essential fats can provide a lot of benefits including our brain's ability to recall information
If our memory works by association, then we can employ active association between two bits of data. As an example, for the bus that you need to catch at 3 PM, you can picture your bus in your mind and notice that it has 4 wheels. Four wheels, 4 PM. Now you have an association. You are now more chance to remember the time after it has instilled in your memory. The rule of thumb is to be creative and imaginative. You do not have to be a poet every time you want to recall something. Just think of an image in your mind that associates to a certain piece of information.

It is a fundamental part of the human condition to want to be more than what we are. The millions of dollars that are spent in the self help industry and on personal growth products every year are testimony to that desire.

But change is difficult; it requires effort, dedication and motivation. Limiting beliefs, pressures on our time and a tendency to get distracted from our goals by everything else that is going on in our lives mean that more often than not we never quite get around to or manage to stick to the goals we have set ourselves.

This is why Brainwave Entrainment is a breakthrough in the field of personal development. It is built on such a simple, solid, foundation; all you need to do is put on some headphones and listen for no more than half an hour a day.

The specially designed tracks evoke a 'frequency following response' in your brain which causes your brainwaves to match that tracks frequency, getting you into any state you want to be in, whether that's calm and relaxed, motivated and full of energy, focused and attentive or any other state you choose. All without any conscious effort on your part.

Being able to get into just the right frame of mind quickly and easily regardless of the mental state you start off with is obviously a useful technique, but this only scratches the surface of the benefits of brainwave entrainment, here are a couple of key benefits:

1. The brain is just like any other muscle in your body the more you use it and train it, the stronger it gets. By listening to the brainwave entrainment tracks regularly your brain gets used to operating in these ways and as a result you gain the ability to get into these peak performance states naturally.

2. Regular use of brainwave entrainment technology has been shown to increase hemisphere synchronisation. This means the two sides, or two hemispheres, of your brain start to work together co-operatively instead of in competition with each other. Building bridges between the rational, analytic and the creative, intuitive parts of your brain gives an incredible increase to your brain power and problem solving abilities.

These are just a couple of the main points worth noting with any brainwave entrainment technology, there simply isn't enough space here to discuss all the different possibilities and benefits.
This methodology gets used effectively in various areas such as business, building relationship, career development, counseling and personality development.

NLP was first created in the early seventies by John Grinder, an assistant professor of linguistics, and Richard Bandler, a student of psychology. As a program of self development, NLP was meant for modeling human behavior. It was resulted from deep research on the relationship based on apparent patterns of human activities. The people who want to improve communication skills and desire to know as to how brain works, NLP training will benefit them greatly.

The function of NLP is to observe how our brain works. In our brain some neurological patterns of whatever we do gets recorded. As we repeat the same thing over and again that becomes our habit and that is reflected in our behavior and gradually becomes fixed in our brain. It will have gloomy results if we repeat these neurological patterns for years. It will always give happiness if we replace our habits, such as over-eating or smocking, with a new pattern. By replacing such old thinking and behavioral pattern with new one, we can attain such positive results.

We have various resources today such as workshops, seminars, online learning programs and other comprehensive educational courses that provide NLP training. The curriculum of NLP training is tailored by keeping in mind the needs of business trainers, life coaches, and mental health practitioners alike.

It is playing an in important part in sports training also. Sport coaches assist their clients to be aware of the things they're doing by making them concentrate on their games. This helps them for their improving performances. NLP training can also be beneficial for health management.

By acquiring NLP training you will be able to improve and develop yourself like never before. It assists people to manage emotions and helps individuals to find meaning in life by setting achievable well-formed goals.
One of the fundamental Psychic Skills is the art of meditation, as it is through the quietness of the mind that the connection is really made between mind, body and spirit.

When people ask me how long have I been a Psychic I say that I have been a developing Psychic since birth. I am constantly gaining more Psychic Skills, I believe that Psychic ability is innate and that often this is an underestimated ability which has yet to be tapped into. I believe that as a child this innate ability is present, however, once we attend school with logical thinking, that side of the brain which is intuitive tends to become dormant. Within the vast universe of the brain is that part of us which knows all that is all seeing and all knowing that is yet to be revealed. There have been stories of people who have recovered from major trauma to the brain such as a car accident who gain a new talent. There have been reports that on waking they can suddenly speak another language or have a particular talent which they didn't have before. Some of these people have even gone on to develop the right Psychic Skills to enable them to practice professionally.

In the past I have worked with developing Psychics who report that their ability seemed to come about after the loss of a loved one. They suddenly seem aware of another dimension they feel a presence and become more aware of little coincidences leading them to believe they now have Psychic ability. Some of these people go on to develop Psychic Skills which enable them to open up to Spirit and communicate on this level. I cannot emphasise enough the importance of developing the right Psychic Skills and particularly some insight into Psychic protection is paramount. This is not to say that they are under attack from every entity in the cosmos as to a certain extent they have protection from above. The topic of Psychic protection is quite a big area and I can go into this in some depth at a later date, so look out for this.
It turns out that your mom (although she might be unaware of it) is giving you some ideal advice for a sharper memory. Let us recall some of them.

Mother used to say fruits and vegetables are good for you. Undeniably, they are. Studies reveal that blueberries in particular, aid to improve memory aside from giving health benefits to the body. Another berry, which is strawberry, is also good in memory retention. On the vegetable side, spinach and broccoli are foods for the brain. These fruits and vegetables contain antioxidants that protect the body and brain against stress.

I bet you've heard of the same old "early to bed, early to rise makes a person happy, healthy, and wise." What mom used to impress on you is indeed a good advice, particularly the portion about "wise." When you're asleep, the brain sorts information obtained during the day so that this information is stored for future use.

Quit smoking and cut down on caffeine. Researchers found that consuming a pack or more cigarettes a day can result to impaired visual and verbal memory, and this will further result to the brain's poor ability to process information. As for caffeine (coffee and colas), it will make you feel agitated and irritated. This is contrary to a brain that performs at its best when relaxed.

Fish is food for the brain. Fish contains the polyunsaturated fatty acid DHA, which is the main contributor to efficient development of the nervous system and the brain. That is why some milk products for young children are supplemented with DHA. One of the best sources of DHA is cod liver oil. Oh, how you hated it when you were still kids, but actually it's good for you. Aside from fish, other products that are memory enhancers due to the presence of choline are soybeans, eggs, and liver. Still another substance that is present in fish like salmon, herring, mackerel, and sardines is the amazing omega-3 fatty acid. It promotes good mood, aside from being a good memory developer. It also increases the learning capability because it enhances the capacity, speed, and efficiency of the brain. Researchers are still checking the benefits that omega-3 can give to patients with alzheimer's disease and stress related disorders. If you can't get enough of these fish products, taking supplements (about 600 mg) will suffice.

"Did you take your vitamins?" mom used to tell you this every morning. That's because they are good for you, especially vitamins C, B12, and beta-carotene. Not only are they good antioxidants, they are good memory enhancers as well.

Get off that sofa. Get out and get some exercise. Seems like a complete drag but exercise, like it or not, is good in sharpening memory. It's like jogging your mind to wake it up. Studies reveal that strenuous physical exercise gets the brain cells up and running, thus improving memory and creativity. Just half an hour of jogging can deliver astounding results to your body and mind.

Remember that you're always better off with a sharp memory.

But does it really work? Over 1 million people worldwide seem to think so. More importantly, though: Would it work for you?

Imagine if you had access to a "Secret Control Panel" inside your brain that enabled you to literally "steal" the qualities of some of the greatest people to ever live on earth...simply by clicking a switch!

If you wanted to lose a few pounds, you click a switch. If you wanted to experience powerful self-confidence, get rid of life-long fears and phobias...and just about anything you want to change, you click the appropriate switch. That would be easy, Right? Unfortunately, the brain doesn't come with its own "control panel". There's no switch.

Back in 1999, however, a small team of programmers got together and produced the world's first subliminal messaging software, Subliminal Pro. The word spread quickly and lives were reportedly changed overnight. The programmers reported that it gave people the power to control everything - their thoughts, their emotions, their habits.

From all indications, this group of programmers had come up with the "secret control panel" of the brain! Subliminal Pro. So powerful was it that apparently efforts were made to ban it.

Today, over 1 Million people use Subliminal Power throughout the planet. And, naturally, they're STILL spreading the word. Customers range from self-development gurus to Olympic Gold Medalists, from software giant Microsoft to the US Army.

HOW SUBLIMINAL POWER WORKS
Subliminal Power enables you to quickly change any area of your life, with apparently no effort. There's no psychotherapy, hypnosis, meditation, reading, and no magic spells. Once the software is installed, and you select the program you want, it immediately begins to reprogram your mind with unobtrusive messages.

SUBLIMINAL MESSAGING & HOW IT WORKS
Maybe you remember when advertisers had tapped into the secret CIA research in 1950's public movie theaters, and the studies of William Bryan Key, Vance Packard, and Eldon Taylor of the 1960's.
Of course advertisers had the obvious ulterior motive. They wanted your cash. There was a lot of ensuing hype and the public soon forgot the hysteria. And subliminal messaging was NOT banned. Today, however, people are beginning to realize JUST HOW POWERFUL this technique can be.

Subliminal messaging has been popularized by success coaches such as Anthony Robbins, mentalists such as Derren Brown and world-leading sport players, such as Tiger Woods.

Subliminal messages are positive affirmations sent directly to the subconscious mind, bypassing the more critical conscious mind. The subconscious then follows these commands to produce powerful and exciting change - that is, if you believe the testimonials of some of those who claim experiencing benefits.

Subliminal Power works by flashing positive affirmations around your computer screen while you work.
The messages are completely unobtrusive. In fact, you probably won't even notice most of them. But the subconscious does, and apparently soaks up every single message - and uses the commands to make the changes desired.

Would Subliminal Power work for everyone? Hard to say. It could be that you would have to have an "open" mind to achieve the desired results. After all, it's your mind that's involved. For that reason, it might be safe to argue that if you approach the "experiment" with any degree of skeptism, it may have a negative impact on the results you were hoping for.
Everything from brain development to inflammation levels to cardiovascular health can be improved with the regular use of fish oil capsules.

All of these benefits are related to two compounds. These Omega 3 fatty acids are also known as EFA`s. EFA stands for essentially fatty acid. These are compounds which the body requires for proper functioning, but cannot make on its own. There are very few foods which contain these compounds. There are certain oils such as flax seed oil which contain other EFA`s such as alphalinoleic acid. ALA is also something which is required by the body and again is a compound which the body cannot make.

There are many products on the market today that claim to have enough Omega 3`s added to them that fish oil capsules or other supplements are not necessary. Do not listen to them. It is important to get substantial amounts of Omega 3`s and you cannot get them just from the diet alone. Milk and eggs are two products which often advertise themselves as being high in Omega 3`s. Even a diet rich in salmon is not enough to give you the levels of Omega 3`s that you need.

If you are purchasing fish oil capsules you want to look for ones that contain DHA and EPA. You also need to ensure that the levels of EPA are higher than the levels of DHA. You also want to make sure that you are selecting fishoil that is pure and fresh. If you make sure that the fish which goes into making the supplements is very high quality you can relax knowing that you will have less of a chance of being subjected to high levels of toxins and heavy metals.

That is the main danger with fish oil capsules. If the fish lived in waters which were heavily contaminated, there is a good chance they will be carrying high levels of these toxins in their bodies. But fish from areas such as New Zealand are still pure and low in levels of toxins and pollutants. In turn, this means that the fishoil is also pure and very low in contaminants and heavy metals.

By taking the time to add fish oil capsules to your diet you are taking the first step towards ensuring you are in as good a shape as possible for as long as possible.
Divination is a psychic talent that is a more involved method of using precognition. If you have ever read any of the Harry Potter books or if you saw the movies, you might remember divination class, and some of the methods the kids used. While Harry Potter is obviously a work of fiction, many divination practices are real and have firm believers. For example, you can try reading tea leaves or tarot cards. There is a nearly endless supply of ways to try out divination. When you practice these, you are also working on precognition, even if it is future sight seen through a medium.

If you enjoy a nice cup of hot tea, you should try reading tea leaves. Begin with a loose tea leaf, as opposed to a teabag. You should use a white or lightly colored teacup so the leaves stand out clearly. As your water for tea heats, put your tea leaves on a saucer and stir them around. This puts the power of mind and your energy into them. One of the most important tips for brewing your tea for divination purposes is to brew the tea without straining it. If you strain it, you will have no leaves to read. Once you have brewed your tea, you should think of a specific question as you sip it. Be careful not to drink any tea leaves and to leave a bit of liquid in the cup.

In your left hand, swirl the liquid and leaves in the cup clockwise three times. Cover the cup with your right hand and swirl the leaves up around the sides. Look for various formations in the cup. Unlike many fictional representations of tea reading, you are not likely to see a literal shape. There are symbols to learn, however. A triangle is a sign of good karma whereas a square shows a need to be cautious. A circle is a sign of success. Letters often signify a loved one or a friend, and numbers indicate a span of time. There will also be many random clumps. It is then up to you to decipher what each bit looks like. Your instincts and the power of mind should guide you as to what these seemingly meaningless shapes look like. Some examples could be an oak tree that symbolizes health, a lock symbolizes obstacles, or a witch foreshadows a strange happening.
As with other divination techniques, the images are significant of other things than their literal meanings.
Learning about common symbols can help you become more adept at reading tea leaves and other aspects of divination and even precognition. Keep working and practicing to feel a noticeable increase in the power of mind.
Although we all understand that we must grow as individuals and as a group of people, as well. Fortunately, with a lack of free time, you can still find information and receive help through an expert on personal development. All you have to do is turn on your computer!

There are many great benefits from an online course in personal development. The most important benefit is that it can be structured around your time frame. You can log in and work on it before work begins, during your lunch hour, or even while you are at home in your pajamas, just before you go to bed. You are the course instructor, so you can learn at your own pace and decide how far you would like to go with your success. Many of the individuals who opt for an online personal development course are looking for a change in their present life. The amount of change is left up to you to decide, as well as the areas of your life that you desire to have changed.

You can also learn how to gain more self confidence, not only in your business but in your personal life too. You can also boost your self esteem, and learn how to help boost the esteem of others around you. You can learn how to make your life happier and help to make others happier. You may also learn how to reduce the amount of stress in your everyday life that will help you relax more often. Anxiety is another key issue that is covered in online personal development courses. You will learn how to handle anxiety both in the work place and at home. You will be taught how to recognize different forms of anxiety, how to cut down on the amount of anxiety you feel and also how to avoid anxiety in the future.
Many people once they leave school and start a working life of their own neglect their own mental development despite the recognition that now more than ever there is a need to keep a strong and healthy mind.

The modern world with its technology and stressful time frames creates a need for mental and physical fortitude, without which we get into a cycle of stress, sleep loss and fatigue which disrupt our daily demands.Though we may feel mentally prepared to meet our goals, others are moving the goalposts and we feel like we no longer control our own destiny.

Keeping pace with current knowledge and jargon is no longer sufficient and we need to look for a better way to cope when things change outside our control.

But by acknowledging our need for mental growth and putting aside a small time window for it, we are able to regain the lost energy, vigor and mental sharpness we once had. A positive mental attitude helps, but we also need to feel in control and prepared to react positively to events outside our control.

Just imagine feeling mentally prepared for any of life's challenges, becoming the person you were meant to be, able to rise to any challenge with enthusiasm and mental alertness .You can recover that youthful mindfulness and grow mentally and physically stronger, being prepared to meet any challenging situation, confident of achieving it, with the help of hypnosis, which supports your subconscious thoughts with more positive suggestions.

The power and effectiveness of hypnosis has made it progressively popular for mental and spiritual growth and for general confidence and well-being. Using hypnosis on a regular basis will strengthen your resoluteness, helping you to develop your neglected growth.

A daily investment of 30 minutes daily will show amazing results and there are programs for all areas of development.
These have frequencies between 8 Hz and 12 Hz - this means that they come in eight to twelve cycles per second. Usually these waves are produced simultaneously throughout both hemispheres of the brain, but it is also not odd for them to be discovered in the right one solely.

The alpha brain waves are more abundantly produced when both the body and the mind are relaxed. This is also determined to occur in pre sleeping and pre awaking times. It has been scientifically proven in the course of a number of studies, that people who are artistically gifted and children experience the beneficial effects of these waves more often and in greater amounts than the majority of adults do.

Extroverts are also known to have a more abundant alpha brain wave activity. This is something that does not require science for explanation. It is just common sense that the people who are more outgoing feel more relaxed in all kinds of social situations. On the other hand, most modern day people do not enjoy these brain waves frequently simply due to the lifestyle they lead. The stress and the anxiety in our lives provide for the production of the more harmful beta brain waves and prevent us from using the alpha patterns for psychological and physical healing and for out well being in general.

These brain waves alpha increase the conscious state of awareness in our body, which makes them beneficial in a number of ways. Apart from reducing the stress in our lives, they can make us be happier and less anxious in general and in different situations.

The alpha brainwave state also allows for greater creativity, a more enhanced learning ability and quicker and more efficient problem solving skills in all aspects of life. The health benefits are also quite significant as thanks to the production of alpha brain waves and in turn due to the reduced stress levels the body is experiencing, the functioning of the immune system is improved. This means that the body is better protected from all sorts of harmful effects and diseases.

The good news is that the alpha brain wave activity can be stimulated in a number of ways. As mentioned earlier it occurs primarily during times of complete relaxation. One of the effective ways for achieving such a state of the mind and body is through meditation.

The practice of yoga is also extremely beneficial, but the problem is that it takes time for the practitioner to reach the higher level of conscious awareness and for the alpha brain waves to be abundantly produced.

Those who cannot devote time to mediation can use a much simpler method - brainwave entrainment using binaural beats. These tones produce the wavelength of the brainwaves of which you want to stimulate. They are tremendously effective in creating the desired results.
