Last Saturday we celebrated 5 years of MindFlow's Fan Club "LET YOUR MINDFLOW" and it was simply awesome! No words can describe our gratitude for the support of our die hard fans! It was a great honor to play for you. We felt your strong energy from the stage and it was breathtaking!

We now can look back and feel really proud about you all. We are always trying to come up with something new for our beloved fans and to feel the positive reactions makes us stronger to keep going and take MindFlow to the next level.

You guys make all worthwhile. You guys make us feel at home wherever we are!

The Ride

The Ride is the second song from our project, MindFlow 365.

Different from Thrust into this Game, The Ride has a more introspective feeling. It talks about the stillness inside the confusion. The lyrics were inspired by the Lotus flower. As you know, the Lotus grows on darked water rivers, but still it blossom as a perfect and colorful flower.

Sometimes we are submerged in dishonesty, crime and corruption but it doesn't mean we can keep our heart and mind clear as the Lotus flower.

- Sabe, de princípio eu tinha um pressentimento que não poderia confiar em você, e o mantive por perto por isso mesmo. Você conhece o ditado tanto quanto eu.

- Sim, conheço.

- E com o tempo eu me esqueci, ou me fiz esquecer, desse primeiro pressentimento. Achei que você era mais que apenas um rato sujo.

- Eu não sou um rato sujo – disse Carmo sem emoção - Fiz o que me mandaram. Cumpri ordens, apenas.

Filipo resolveu se levantar e andar pelo quarto enquanto falava.

- Sabe, Carmo, tem uma coisa que você precisa saber sobre lealdade. Nessa vida que levamos tudo é um jogo. E acho que você ainda não entendeu.

- Devemos a lealdade ao nosso mestre até o final, isso que eu sei.

O mais velho dos dois quase não conseguiu conter o riso, Filipo não se divertia com uma frase há muitos anos.

- Eu disse que você não tinha entendido. A nossa lealdade está do lado de quem vai ganhar, Carmo. Só isso. Olhe para você agora, está a poucos minutos de uma morte terrível e porquê? Por quem? Ninguém está aqui para compartilhar da sua dor. Nem para te amparar.

- Eu tenho minha consciência ainda, Filipo. Isso você não vai me tirar!

- Consciência? Você tem certeza de ter estado lá do meu lado todos esses anos? Você matou pessoas inocentes para ter a minha confiança. Acha mesmo que eu acredito que você tenha alguma consciência? Seu maldito mestre não vale mais do que eu, por ter te mandado me vigiar. Você foi apenas um bom cão.

- Foi tudo para um bem maior...

- Claro que sim, você mentiu, matou e traiu por um bem maior. Sua alma foi vendida a um preço irrisório e você nem notou. Quase tenho dó de te matar.

- Pelo menos eu sei de uma coisa, todas as informações que eu passei servirão para te derrubar definitivamente!

- Acho que deveria ter sido um comediante ao invés de um espião, Carmo. Eu não vou cair. Vou permanecer aqui até quando quiser, e todo o seu esforço terá sido em vão. Ou você acha que eu sei da sua traição como? Eu tenho cães leais assim como você ao lado de seu mestre.

- Não é possível...

Toda a fé de Carmo parecia desvanecer de seu olhar.

- As pessoas que me colocaram onde estou vão continuar do meu lado enquanto eu fizer a minha parte no jogo. E pessoas como você serão esmagadas no processo. Como agora. Somos peões aqui, jogando o mesmo jogo, pena que você não entendeu.

Filipo chegou até Carmo com uma velocidade que apenas um imortal poderia, e sugou todo o seu sangue de uma vez.

- Boa sorte do outro lado, Carmo – disse Filipo, abandonando o corpo sem vida no chão.

Thrust into this Game - Part I

This week post will be different!

As you know we just release our new project, MindFlow 365. 1 year... one song per month right?

The first song was "Thrust into this Game". For our surprise, we received a story based on this song, a book comic style based on our lyrics. The story was written by Ana Recalde, also known for her amazing work on Patre Primordium .

So here it goes! Enjoy it! Oh it is in portuguese...

Part I

Carmo entrou em casa arfando. Tinha pouco tempo para levar suas coisas embora e sumir de vez daquela cidade. Mudar de país era uma boa opção também.

A luz da lua entrava branda pela janela, o suficiente para iluminar seus passos e por isso mesmo, acender a luz seria no mínimo imprudente. Chamaria atenção desnecessária.

- Com medo de algo, Carmo?

Ele olhou em volta, tinha certeza que estava sozinho até aquele momento. Precisava estar sozinho, aquela voz revelava muito mais que apenas uma presença, mas uma sentença de morte.

- Não, senhor.

- Ah, então não vai se incomodar que eu acenda a luz, não é?

- Claro que não, padrinho.

Mesmo vendo seu padrinho todas as noites por longos vinte anos, Carmo ainda se impressionava com a altivez dele. Um olhar capaz de trazer abaixo até o mais seguro dos homens.

Com a luz da cômoda acesa e a meia-luz da lua o ambiente parecia ainda mais ameaçador.

- Não vai abaixar sua cabeça, Carmo? Para que eu posso te abençoar.

- Claro, claro. Me desculpe.

O medo na voz de Carmo era evidente e perturbador.

Mesmo assim se abaixou em frente a Filipo, sem saber se o golpe seria naquele momento ou depois. Um pensamento macabro percorreu sua mente, que talvez fosse melhor acabarem logo com isso, a sofrer com a dúvida da sua punição por mais 10 minutos.

- Seja abençado.

- Obrigado, padrinho.

- Quer dizer que você ia fugir?

- Eu? Não faria uma coisa...

- Não subestime a minha inteligência, por favor.

Carmo abaixou a cabeça e decidiu não tentar fugir daquela situação e enfrentar como um homem pela última vez.

- Eu não quero morrer, Filipo. Por isso ia fugir.

- E eu seria o seu algoz?

- Agora você não subestime a minha inteligência. Se você está aqui pessoalmente, a coisa está ainda pior pro meu lado que eu imaginei.

- Isso é verdade. Eu não me deslocaria sozinho se não fosse uma coisa importante..

Filipo permanecia sentado em uma cadeira ao lado da cama de Carmo, que decidiu sentar-se também.

- E sabe porque isso é importante pra mim? Eu achei que não me preocuparia com a sua lealdade. Não com a sua. Mantive você próximo ao meu peito por muito tempo.

- Eu estava lá colocado, desde o começo. Tinha uma missão, padrinho.

-Não sou mais seu padrinho, Carmo. Não precisa mais me chamar assim.

- Certo, verdade.

Carmo sentiu o peso do costume em suas costas.

Blood of innocents

Another shelling occurred in Somalia killing more than 30 and leaving many others seriously wounded.

The target this time was a marketplace.

I keep exposing this facts I think, to express my concern to where human kind is heading to.

People became, somewhere along our path, dicartable.

A shelling in a public place where the attackers know women and children where certainly walking and trying to live in peace. Why?

Probably to cause more impact on people like us, making the responsible more believable.

But the price is to high. The price is blood from innocents.

Guitar Hero

Everybody knows that technology faces no boundaries, and with it video games are able to transcend the experience of playing, nowadays, games like Guitar Hero are more and more popular, you can see videos on youtube of 7 year-old kids mastering the most difficult songs at their most difficult level.

That kind of practice is being questioned by real musicians of what they are really about.

"It encourages kids not to learn, that's the trouble.... It makes less and less people dedicated to really get down and learn an instrument. I think is a pity so I'm not really keen on that kind of stuff." -- Bill Wyman, The Rolling Stones

After first saying there was no way that Led Zeppelin would ever put out a similar version of Rock Band: "Obviously, there have been overtures made to Led Zeppelin, but if you start with the first track on the first album, 'Good Times Bad Times,' and you think of the drum part that John Bonham did there, how many drummers in the world can actually play that, let alone dabble on a Christmas morning?" -- Jimmy Page, Led Zeppelin

Of course opinions are the right of each one of us, despite of agreement, but what if someone is not really interested in learning an instrument, but just play the game for the fun of it, what is wrong with that?

Anyways i know a lot of musicians that play the game and still have a good time with it, so it seems that, that is a matter to discuss for a long time.

A wealthy profession

Once I heard from a friend that works involved with politicians a very scary phrase:
"People are screwed... No one is working to make people´s lives better. They are working to make their own life better"
Somehow, deep inside our minds, we know that the sentence above its true but we choose not to believe in it. Just to mantain a naive hope everything is going according to what we expect... But when I heard those words comming out from a person that is actually involved in the world of politics... it hit me differently.

The fact is that, in marjority, brazilian politics are not even close prepared, professionally or ethical speaking, to manage subjects with great importance as taking care of the ones in need.

Being a politician became a wealthy profession, not a result of a man trying to help his own people and country.
That´s a shame...

"The Ride" is the name of MindFlow's new music.

As "Thrust into this Game" The Ride express our deepest thoughts about the contemporary world.

This time we want to express the truly meaning of freedom.

The second when you find your innerself and connect with the empty space.

The Ride tries to capture the moment when the wind rides with you and you simply let go.

For us writting those songs turn to be a very inspiring and meaningful experience. You can now look back and watch ourselves evolve into something else. We are the same candle, but with a different flame.

On Sept 11. we played at ProgPower X.

What an experience! The perfect envoirement for a perfect rock night.

We knew that it would be a great festival, very well organized, professional etc.

But when we got there we were amazed and we saw how things should be done in every field of life: Top quality professionals working with passion, respect, talent and hard work. The key elements for a successful project.

... and more! Many of those involved in the event were working just to help and for the satisfaction of being part of something so special. Our heart was toched and it was a lesson learned that we will carry inside our minds forever.

We should believE in ourselves, fight for what we believe even when no one believes in you.

That is when imposible things become posible. And you turns to be special.

The Brazilian way of Politics

We are again approching a time of descion regarding the presidential election. Our President, Lula, can't run for reelection again, he is now finishing his second period in charge, so according to brazilian laws, he can do a third mandate.

But, he has a candidate: Dilma Rousseff, one of todays Minister of Lula's goverment.

She is actually a new face for most of the brazilians, but her background goes beyond a regular politician.

In the 60's and 70's she was member of obscure groups. She was taken to jail, beaten... Why? She was fighting for what she belives. That's great you may think! But Let's go a little further to find out what are those beliefs we are talking...

She was the mind behind one of the most famous roberies in brazilian history when the former governate Adhemar de Barros had his house safe robed by Dilma's group. 2,5 million dollars were taken on that afternoon. She was also part of the group that stoled a truck full of weapons from the army back in the day. Every time considered, by her fellow partners, the mind behind the crimes.

Now she wants to be a president.

But I keep asking myself... why???

Maybe she is different now...

or maybe she consider the brazilian people stupid.

Let's hope for the best.

THRUST INTO THIS GAME

As you know, we have a new project comming up: "MindFlow 365"

The idea is to release one song per month through an entire year! This new idea will kick off on Sept 9 and the first sond is called "THRUST INTO THIS GAME".

Releasing one song per month give us the opportunity to give the fans something fresh, something that we just created.

"THRUST INTO THIS GAME" was born from our deep desire for a more justice place to live. We seem to be thrust into this game of corruption, falacies and plots provided by our politicians that uses the power given by our democracy to make their lives an oasis drilled inside a fortress of hungry, poverty and injustice.

"THRUST INTO THIS GAME" is a call. We are calling everyone that somehow were thrusted into this game to react and stand for what is right and fight the most dangerous plot we've ever had to face.

When wrong became normal

We are living in a era where we became extremely peaceful with facts that should be making our heart turn into pieces.

We lost the ability to react! We accept atrocities, injustice, lack of honesty and principle considering all just “normal”.

I keep asking myself if “normal” means that those bad things are common in our society or we just are evil as the facts.

Trusting in my instinct I am compel to keep talking about the lack of manhood showed by politicians here in Brazil. As wrote on the last post, José Sarney, Senate’s president is still on duty as if nothing happened. A thief sitting on the chair that represents justice. Is there something more absurd? And yet we do nothing, all just seems normal...

Facts like this should make the people take the streets and fight for justice and what is right. We should carry the truth inside our words and hearts.

Let us turn this time of injustice in a time of honesty. Let us fight for what is right. Enough with the wrong things considered normal. Normal is to be right and correct!

Leaving things for the future make the present an awfull time to exist.
When talking about taking care of the human kind, tomorrow seems more far away.
We are leaving ourselves for tomorrow when we put things that really matter aside, important things as our planet, people around us, our family.

Here in Brazil, we are facing again problems regarding the lack of manhood in many of our polititions.
Sarney, Senate's presidentand former President of Brazil is using "today" for his own benifits, leaving the people, who as a matter of fact put him there, for tomorrow, or to be more precise... for never.
This man was born in 1930. Imagine, he is still think how can he take advantage of the poor.
We think that, as the years go by, we become more mature, peaceful and intelligent.
Sarney did the exact opposite.

Remember we will never live the day after today. Today is the only day we have.
Tomorrow is just a disguise and yesterday a memory to regret or something to be proud of.
They all live together inside the day we are still living.

Please, do not regret and do not be proud of. Do not live in a disguise.
Be a good person today... Now.
Simple as that!

Stick to your values

Most people are not likely to do the right thing. If they hurt you and they can get away with it, they will. We live in an unfair world.
It is even worst in the third world, where there are more uneducated people and more people with necessities. Many are thinking first on how to survive, the rest is the rest. The laws are not always rightly enforced and many government officials are corrupt.

Every time we get out to the streets we are likely to suffer an injustice. There are too many different people, with different education, values, etc. People are not always fair, many don’t have morality (or what we judge to be morality), it is a fact.
We have to be ready to face it and personality to stick to our values, to do what we know is the right thing to do.

It is very easy to see everybody doing what is wrong and, when we face the same situation, we do the same, not because we think it’s right, but because everybody else is doing it.

Don’t do it. Stick to your values.
This is your message to the world, of what you think is right, of how you think people should behave, of how you think the world should be. Maybe it will turn up to be it. We are responsible for this world too, each one of us, and the direction it is taking.

By doing the right thing (not only by the law, but by your values), maybe you will influence somebody else’s behavior, which will influence somebody else’s behavior. You may not get out of the situation as the smart ass, as many always like to be. But even if it don’t pay in the short run, you’ll at least have done your part.
You have a role to play in the future of this world.

Children or kidney?

As the last posts, we continue to be surprised by atrocities, things that we haven't even dreamt are really happening right now.
We definitely lost track of human kind when money and power overcame dignity, tolerance and the simple fact of being alive.
We decided to ignore everything to not loose a couple of bucks. Should everything be "an eye for an eye". Shouldn't we try to understand and listen, ask and give?

The sale will net him between $1,100 and $1,600.Iqbal was not alone in facing this difficult decision. Others opted to sell their kidneys. One of them was Rab Nawas, who was deep in debt about a year ago to his landlord after borrowing money to pay for his wedding and to cover medical bills for his wife and six children. He, too, faced the choice: sell his children, his wife or a kidney. War in Somalia

War erupted Sunday between Somalia's transitional government forces and Islamist rebels, continuing a wave of violence.

On the last blog post, we saw how children are being trained to suicidal bombing missions, now women and children are the targets.

In this new wave of attacks in Somalia, its being clear that civilians are bearing the brunt of violence. It became a signature feature of conflicts in Africa to target the ones that have nothing to do with war. A signature feature! We use children for bombing because they draw less attention. We kill women and kids to provoke the enemy.

These days tolerance became a rare and almost unreachable word. More, it mutated to a term that doesn’t exist in our thoughts, maybe just a word of moth.... but not a word of heart.

Somalia has been mired in chaos since 1991.

Pakistan and children suicide bombing

What else now?!

In Pakistan, a Military group is buying and selling children for suicide bombings.
Some of the children are only 11. Once trained, the children are worth $6,000 to $12,000, Pakistani military officials said.

We pass from "dying for something" to make innocent children kill themselves for a very obscure reason to protect cowards.

Did we loose all the respect for life? If even a children became a instrument of insanity, it means we lost the faith for what represents us in the future.

This absurd act shows we don't care for what is coming. We just don’t care for nothing. We are lost souls in a planet we don't deserve.
The human kind is marching for what we call a beautiful death.

We’ve got to put an end to this!

It won't last forever... Amazon Rainforest

The Amazon forest is being reduced to ashes for years.
Even though the Brazilian senate has just approved a law that gives the right to companies and people that had invaded it years ago to legally explore more of this precious land. More than 190,271,143 acres will be affected by this new law (3 times the extension of the state of Sao Paulo, in Brazil).

The law is favorable for big and medium companies, which will purchase 88.5% of this land that used to be property of the government, according to estimatives of environmentalists. (Property of the government used to mean our property, it is nation’s land!)

It is though very clear why the Brazilian government has approved this absurd law in times that we should be finally evolving in this matter. Most of the governors, the people in charge of the country, are financed by these companies, or even own it.
Using the excuse that they want to organize the situation better in the Amazon, they are in reality working one more time to benefit themselves in exchange of the peoples’ and nation’s welfare.

This rotten Brazilian government can only think on how each one can selfishly profit, even by illegal acts (which are not a few) or by fooling the people’s that they so hardly work to keep uneducated.

But this kind of decision affects not only the country but the entire world.
At this rate of deforestation, the next generation will only be able to see the forest on the internet, books...

We are being selfish to our sons.

Iran Protest

The dream was that human rights were real, not a curtain covering the will of the ones in charge. Keeping us drunk with the illusion of peace and decency.

Neda, the girl killed in Iran... She is one inside a billion. Another person who lost her life just for believe in something different.
What now? Should we keep accepting murder and humiliation?

Men, we are a strange and cruel specie: When we are alone, we are needy, fragile, victims of the world. In groups... we become something else... we turn earth into hell.
We behave like a virus, consuming, destroying and not looking back.

I’d like to ask you all: Where are we going?
We took the road to extinction and we are too proud to admit it.
Why are human rights only for the ones who committed crime?
Human rights didn't have time to save a innocent life.

Six billion demands

Brazil is considered one of the most violent countries in the world.
The rate of assaults, kidnappings, exterminations, and domestic violence against women is extremely high.
Their causes are always the same: misery, poverty, unemployment, lack of education and opportunities.

The police finds it very hard to manage all those critical situations and sometimes uses a disproportional power.
It creates a circle of violence where people just reacts violently.
It is common to see in soccer stadiums men and women getting beat by policemen just because they were on a "hot spot" and also common to see people generating violence for nothing making the police act like that.
To destroy this circle we must think with non-violence mind, we can't continue blaming the others for problems that affects us. We need to start a riot of peace.

We are the Destructive Device and like the song goes: "We got to stop this now, thta is all we want. We gotta do it somehow... Six billion demands!

Giving a chance to live

In Brazil we have a huge line of people waiting for a chance to live.
Like other lines in Brazil, this one moves desperately slow.
They are waiting for an organ donor.
It couldn't be worse... Many times we have the donors and the compatible organs, but sadly we are not capable to extract the organs in time to help those in need.

Every Brazilian citizen know what a public hospital is like: endless lines, no doctors, no decent treatment, no drugs and no infrastructure for the doctors do their job.
Strangely we have one of the most advanced and structured organ's list, but we can't give what they need just because of lack of government's support in hospitals.
We are letting people die twice when we could be saving lives.

Politics! It has passed the time to take actions on this matter. That is why we voted on you.

For us, please, let your family know you want to be an organ donor.

The World's biggest natural disaster

Watching the news we can notice how crazy our world is right now. Not just the people, which is getting even crazier every second, but our wild world.

Brazil has never been a country profoundly affected by natural disasters. Some people say the people in here are our real disaster. We can agree with it in some degrees, if we consider all the corruption at our government, and how this “corrupted” examples affects all our culture. At least this is one plausible explanation why such a naturally rich country like Brazil hold all this poverty... (Of course, besides it has all the past exploitation in here among other things)

But these last days all we can watch on the news are bizarre natural disasters. Brazil’s north and northeast, a very, very hot place, historically affected by drought, is suffering of flood, excess of rain (for us, it sounds really weird). And Brazil’s south, the coldest part of the country, which 7 months ago suffered a really big catastrophe because of the flood that made hundreds of family to lost their houses, is now suffering of drought!
What is more frightening is that this inundation at our north and northeast is even worst than the one that happened on the south (though it has less media appeal for some reason).

Those are some clear examples of how the global warming is directly affecting our lives (and our deaths).
Where will that end? (in the end of the world? In the end of most coast cities?)
What have we been doing to change this?

How many times did you choose to go to work on your bike or walking to don’t collaborate with the increase of Carbon Dioxide in our atmosphere?

For some governments, taking action to change this destiny we are heading to is not even discussed because of the economic impact it would cause. It would make most of the countries to loose enormous amounts of money. I wonder if they make the math of how much it costs all the disasters we are having, and all the lives that are being lost, compared to what it would cost to collaborate to change the course we have been taking.
With this idea, we can see why they don’t make much to properly inform the population as well. If they invested the same amount of energy they invested to inform about the new flu, I’m sure it would make a really big difference.

Yes, we really are the world’s biggest natural disaster. But some time all of us will have to understand that without life there is no money, no economy at all.
