<p>
Con-way, a leader in the transportation industry, seeks a dynamic QA Software Engineer to ensure quality production releases of new applications and/or enhancements to existing applications for clients. This talented Software Engineer will define and document the scope of QA testing required for projects, function as a QA member on project development teams for application modifications and support ongoing testing efforts as needed. In addition, this QA Software Engineer will provide critical direction to ensure tasks are completed on a timely basis and conform to specifications/processes and standardized best practices. </p>

Essential Functions:</h3>
<ul>

Oversee project, support, and enhancement QA testing scheduling, planning, status reporting and defect tracking.</li>
<li>
Define the scope of testing needed for applications and create required documentation.</li>
<li>
Generate time and cost estimates.</li>
<li>
Coordinate and/or direct other resources in testing efforts.</li>
<li>
Perform QA testing per the test documentation including regression testing, system testing, white box testing and black box testing. </li>
<li>
Perform software reviews, process reviews, software migration execution reviews, and testing of tools development (automated test scripts) as needed.</li>
<li>
Participate in the review and analysis of business requirements, functional specification and design documents.</li>
<li>
Participate in the design and testing of solutions for new applications and enhancements or modification to existing applications.</li>
<li>
Support business users during the execution of system and user acceptance testing.</li>
<li>
Collaborate with project team members on development and testing issues.</li>
<li>
Lead the effort to ensure appropriate testing. </li>
<li>
Collaborate in the definition and implementation of QA testing methodologies in all application areas.</li>
<li>
Collaborate in the definition and gathering of testing metrics. Provide system and applications support to users including troubleshooting and issue resolution.</li>
<li>
Ensure fixes and changes are adequately tested. </li>
<li>
Participate in project post implementation reviews. </li>
<li>
Actively participates in continuous process improvement efforts.</li>

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</h4>

Bachelor's degree in CS, MIS, or technical area or the equivalent combination of education and experience required.
</ul>

<li>
<ul>
7 years of experience in IT solutions development, testing execution and methodology, and black/white box testing, preferably in medium to large ERP systems environments HR, benefits, timekeeping, payroll, business analysis, and client relations experience is desired.
</ul>

System knowledge may include Oracle, PL/SQL, Java, HTML, ERP, UNIX, shell scripting and the suite of Microsoft applications.
