Notch Poll about Anonymous Data + Future Mobs?

Hello there Minecraftians,

Today I would like to share a couple of things with you having to do with a poll Notch is taking, and rumors about future mobs that may or may not happen.

On Notch's Tumblr on January 25th, he posted

"I was thinking it would be awesomely cool to add some kind of player tracking to the game. This would work by having the game connect to minecraft.net and send some anonymous and non-private data about the game, such as current game mode (single player, multiplayer), operating system (windows? mac?), how long you’ve been playing for (so we know how long a game session is), and whether or not you’re playing the downloaded game, or the applet on the webpage. It would probably connect every ten minutes or so so we can get some semi-realtime data. We’d share the data with the community, as usual." -Notch

This would allow some cool statistics that neither Mojang nor the Community know about. My current vote on this poll is "Yes", but people do have other opinions. You can find the poll, and share your opinion by clicking here.

I would also like to mention another subject, which is what a lot of people in the Minecraft community would like to know... What are the future mobs? Well, I went to look onto the Minecraft Wiki and found some interesting information on what mobs we may see in the future. On the Mobs page of the Minecraft Wiki, there is a section called "Planned" mobs. Here's the list of the planned mobs: Cat (which is already in the next pre-release, and I will be discussing the pre-release in the next post), Fish, Pigman (not pigzombies), and a Red Dragon. Each of these mobs has a page on the Wiki, but (other than the cat) we are still unsure if any of these could be added. During the Halloween Update of Minecraft, Notch tweeted that he had planned for fish for over a year, but had not found a design yet.
I guess we will have to see what crazy ideas Notch comes out with in the future.

Blunderbuss's, Cannons, Dynamites, and Painted Fences! [Technic Pack]

Hey Minecraftians!

Today, I would like to show you some more parts of the Technic Pack. People recommended that I do a post on some more of the Technic Pack, so here it is!

The Blunderbuss is a gun that shoots out Blunderbuss Shot's. Here's a couple of screenshots that show me using it.

It fires, and hits the mob taking away

2-3 hearts per shot.

I also tried out a cannon, which did not want to shoot for me, but until I figure out how to get it working, here's a picture of it.

If you know how to put the Cannons inside of it, please let me know in the comments so I can actually use it! Thanks! :P

These are for decorative purposes, and in my opinion, are much cooler than regular fences.

I'm Back!

I'm back!

Yep, I'm back, and I'm truly sorry I've been inactive on the blog. I've noticed that I've actually been making viewers per day, and I don't want to let them (you) guys go to waste, so I am back, and I've also started a YouTube channel called MrMikesTuts! There I will make videos Minecraft, and several other videos. I have started a series of Minecraft How to Craft:, which can help you if you need to learn how to craft things. Recycling in MineCraft + minecraftmike Social

Hello everyone!

I am proud to say that I have finally gotten a recycling system started on Minecraft! Thanks to the Technic Pack, I have been able to start recycling my Minecraft things and turn the scrap into better items. Here's some screenshots of my masterpiece :)

So here's how the Recycle Station works. First you put any item you want into the Alchemy Chest, and it gets transferred into the Recycle Machine which is being powered by a generator, then the item turns into a scrap after being recycled "x" times, and then it moves into the Automatic Crafting Table, which then crafts the scraps into a Scrap Box, and you have a 1 in 8 chance of receiving a rare/good item. This is very useful to get rid of your useless junk and actually receive something useful in return. Here's an image of a "Scrap Box" and my Recycling Station from another view.

They will include, post updates, etc. I am still trying out IndustrialCraft, and I'm not so good at it yet, but once I figure it out I'll do a post on it. I'm gonna go expand the Recycle Station now. Hey guys, The Yogscast have done a series on Minecraft mods such as Buildcraft and Industrialcraft. I decided to take a look at Buildcraft because it appealed to me more, and it is AMAZING. It completely changes the way Minecraft is played (in a good way). The only bad thing is that I had to downgrade my Minecraft client to 1.7.3. I have been testing all of the things you can do with Buildcraft with TMI (too many items), and I will be testing out IndustrialCraft out next. Also, Beta 1.9 is coming out soon and I cannot wait. Because of the downgrade to 1.7.3, I have been way to lazy to upgrade to the 1.9 Pre-release. I have been way to busy with Buildcraft, and all of these cool mods that I am now discovering. There are so many things in 1.9 that are going to be great. The one thing that I cannot wait for is the addition of NPCs to NPC villages. The YogsCast also showed a video about new music discs! They sound very cool and you can check that video out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-rJCqPgby4&feature=channel_video_title I also found a list of things to expect in the full release of 1.9 on minecraftforum.net. Here's the list (as of now)

Full Use of Potions. (Without mods/cheats)
Enchantment Tables.
Glossy Armor.
New sounds.
Baby Animals. Do not drop loot for XP. Faster animation and they eventually grow up.

Pretty cool, eh? Also, I have some bad news that Steve Jobs has passed away. R.I.P Steve Jobs :(. So stay tuned for my next post which will probably be my review of IndustrialCraft! I should have it by tomorrow, or Friday.
