Here comes the transcript from Korea University. I received it 2 days ago. The last thing left from KU is the academic scholarship. Hope it arrives soon.

Next step would be to transfer my credits to NUS. However, the IRO person in charge has yet to reply my email since 2 days ago. Hope she did read my email and do something about it.

*Advise to all NUS ppl, do email them as early as possible as they take very long to reply!

Food and more food!

I received these from Pq long ago. Think 2 weeks back. I got the kimchi for my cousin and got the baseball cracker for myself. haha. The baseball cracker is NICE! The kimchi was a bit too sour but I like it! Missing the free time in Korea. Studying in NUS is so stressful 기분이 나빠요!

I miss the food there. The bbq beef, the egg thingy and the rice wine!

Post-Korea University days

about two weeks have passed since I returned from Korea University. And I received the certificate of completion just a few days ago. It sort of brought back some memories I had. It was a wonderful summer spent in Korea. The day trips, the new friends I made, the food and of cos the nice hostel that I lived in. Not forgetting my buddy and room mate! LOL!

I wish to visit Korea again. Hopefully for my graduation trip. But first, I need to save up! Then hopefully I can meet my buddy.

Day 43 - 05, 06 August (Back to Singapore)

When I'm doing this entry, I'm actually at home, so the feelings expressed may not be the exact feelings then.

The last day in Seoul. Mixed feelings were observed. I didn't sleep through the night as I was frantically packing my luggage. And I can't seem to squeeze everything in. Argh! It was just sickeningly maddening! I went on to try different arrangement of the things that I have to pack. But none seems to work. Hence I have to turn to shipment which is irritatingly disturbing!

Though the night I didn't have any sleep, hence, mood = grumpy! At around 11pm Daniel, yz, joel and I went to Seoul Station Lotte Mart to do some last minute shopping. Got ginseng chicken for Jiamin as requested, and of cos some snacks and ginseng chicken for my family.

Had to lug back the things bought. Was superbly tired then. But had to complete everything else I won't be back in Singapore with all my things. After the last minute buying, Daniel came in to help me pack my clothes since he has a lot of ziplock bags, plus he's really good in packing. Kenny then came in also to chit chat. Then we had to leave for shipment of the items. The amount of things I had to ship weighs 12.10kg initially then I thought it was too much things and I reduced it by throwing away my notes! So I suppose that it weights like around 11.5kg. Did all the box things and then start putting the items in. The packing took A LOT of time!! HATE PACKING! I had to check out at 430pm but I was still at the post office at like 530pm?! Then there was some commotion about why the posting forms we use are different from the rest, but no one wants to ask why!? I was super duper tired then and just went forward to ask and finally got the answer. The shipment will reach in 10days to 2 weeks time. Total weight of yz, joel and I = ~24.5kg. I paid for 13.5kg and the both of them paid for 5.5kg worth cause I have more things to ship.

Went back to C-J from post office is no joke in the extremely hot weather yesterday! I perspired everytime I walked out of the C-J house. So my mood was double grumpy! And Emma is waiting for me in the lobby so I had to do everything in cheetah speed!! So Emma thought I was angry with her cos I had the frown on me when I saw her at the lobby. But it's not, it's just that I am super tired and some other stuff.

Everything was settled at around 615pm. I bathed, packed and went down to meet Emma. Then both of us decided to weigh our luggage at the gym. And GUESS WHAT! OVERWEIGHT!! Frantic mood activated! We went back down and started to unpack! I gave all the shoes to Kenny, which I am feeling very bad now. I gave Olivia the moisturizer, gave Kenny toothpaste, body wash, threw away some notes. It was madness then, and I don't want to remember anything of it.

Looking at how heavy our luggage were, we decided to cab all the way to Incheon Airport. It cost 28350won per person. And guess what I had for dinner?

Looking at the time, we then went to search for our gate! And it was so difficult to find out where the departure gate was. Maybe cause I was dead tired then. I almost fell asleep when talking to Emma. After walking as though we were participating in Big Walk, we finally found Gate 113!

After like 6hours, the announcement said that we will arrive at KL 38mins earlier. Hmm. So it meant that I have to wait an additional 38 mins for the next plane. After exiting Emma and I went to eat breakfast, Singapore food! Toast and Milk Tea like finally! Nice Milk Tea!!

620am, and I went to take my next plane back to Singapore. Emma's plane at 12pm. So I left first. I was still dead tired although i slept in the previous plane.

I'm back in Singapore finally. Will be going to Batam tomorrow morning. Need to do a lot of things today.

Day 42 - 04 August (Graduation Ceremony)

Today is the last official day in Korea University. And there was Korean test. Hmm.

While studying for Korean, we went down to Paul's recommended Beef Stew meal for lunch. It was pouring during the walk down but the hot soup made us more comfortable.

So I ate this sweet red bean donut bought from Paris Baguette.

The Korean test was rather difficult. There were a lot of sentences which puzzled me. Hence, I did the paper via guessing which is the odd one out from the 4 options available. I'm still hoping for a A so that I can be eligible for the scholarship!

After the test, we proceed to the graduation ceremony at LG Building (Supex). The place is quite grand. And robes were available for loaning! It's so unbelievable!

We proceeded to level 6 for the farewell dinner. The food was nice just that the number of seats were seriously insufficient!! It's very sickening actually to have to stand around. But the prawn is good. A pity I didn't take any photos of it, shall kapo from Audrey.

After walking around and searching for cafe, we went to Cafe Bene in the end. And I ordered my favourite Green Tea Latte.

After talking for a while, Joel, Yz and I went to find Audrey, Joanne and co. at some pub above Samsung chicken. When we went up, they were a bit dazed and hyunji (I don't know how to spell) came grabbing us and trying to force us to drink. I rejected it. Yz too. But Joel drank it. They were going almost high and we left. I went back to my dorm and did laundry so that everything could be packed in my luggage w/o much smell. It was around 515am when Jun left. Gave him the letter, bak kwa and packaged Laksa for him to bring back. It's quite sad to see everyone leaving. First it was Kevin, though I didn't see him leave, but it was strangely quiet after he left. Then followed by Jun.

I wonder when will be the next time I meet Jun and Paul. Sigh.

Day 41 - 03 August

Its almost the end. I have to maximize the time spent here, and I did that today.

I met up with my Buddy 곽민정씨 at 930am at Cold Stone.

Then we went to some cafe nearby as I have lesson at 1050am. I'm not sure what that cafe is called, but the main purpose of the cafe is actually for people to study. They have lamps by the side of the cafe. It's quite cool to see such stuff. Singapore should have that too. We wanted to have pancakes but the pancake store is only open at 10am =( which is why we went to this study cafe.

We chatted about quite a lot of things. We exchanged some photos. I show her the photographs of some Singapore food and she showed me her family members photos. It's quite sad that we only met up for a few occasions. How I wished that we met up more often. Sigh. 너무슬퍼요!!

Then, 민정씨 sent me to school while she went to meet her sister. Lesson with Prof Oishi Shige was fast as today was just the returning of the paper and review. I got an A for my social psych. Borderline A. Phew! It's now left with Korean language. I really hope that I can get an A! Then I would be eligible for the scholarship to recover some losses! Lunch was at school cafe, not the usual canteen which we always eat.

After lunch, I went to get some Smoothie King to drink with Audrey and Joanne. Ayden and Joel didn't get it though. I saw Suli's poster and took a photo with it =)

Went back to dorm for a while before heading to the Ice Rink in Korea University. We met at 4pm before going over. It only cost 5700Won to ice skate!! Firstly because we were students from KU, so the entrace fee is 5000, but because we do not have gloves, so there's the other 700Won. Its really cheap! But please remember to bring jacket! I almost got frost bites! Damn cold. My fingers were red and almost had no feelings.

It's very difficult to ice skate!! I almost fell like ten thousand times, but didn't fall. Phew. I was trying to skate but when I almost got the hang of it, times up! Anyway we can skate for as long as you want. It closes at 6pm. But an hour inside the rink almost made me freeze to death! But we skate till it closes. It's very fun! I want to ice skate again!! But there's no more time already. Sigh. And it's too costly to skate in Singapore!!

After the eventful ice skating, we went out for dinner. Ate some jim dak? I think. It's the one we ate at Myeong-Dong with Minjung and Kenny.

Daniel joined us halfway through, so we ordered another portion of the dish (a different one) and shared. Daniel was upset over his test. Hmm. Seems like everyone is aiming for the scholarship. I shall study hard tonight also!

After you finish your meal, you can order seasoned rice and the staff will mix the rice in to the remaining sauce left on the plate. SUPER NICE!! Why didn't I notice this place before! 그럼데, the one we had in Myeong-Dong was nicer!

Then we walked back to our dorms. I bought the red bean donut from Paris Baguette, and the green tea ice cream which cost 700won only! I LOVE GREEN TEA AND RED BEAN!!! YUM!!

Day 40 - 02 August (Ginseng Chicken)

The shuttle bus. I think Thursday will be the last day that I'm taking this bus. So sad.

Today's weather was fine just that it got super hot in the afternoon.

There's only Social Psychology and Korean lesson today. So Audrey, Joanne, Yanzhi, Wai San and I went to Dongdaemun after the lesson to have lunch and shop. It wasn't really a shopping trip, more of a lunch trip cause we forgot to alight from the train and went to another stop, so we ended up spending some time navigating to Dongdaemun.

Prior to the trip to ddm, there was Social Psychology test. And though some of the questions were repeated, I think it wasn't all so easy, but not very difficult also. I hope I can maintain above 90. Then I will CHIONG all the way for my Korean language test.

We were so hungry that we went to eat at the first stall we saw. And ended up the price there was quite ex. But it was nice! So we walked around dongdaemun and then returned back to school for Korean Lesson. Today was the last lesson for Korean Language. Audrey bought a cake for 선생님.

During the break, we decided to give 선생님 a cake. It was quite funny, we all decided to go out of the class together while she was using the computer. We stood outside of the classroom and was getting ready to bring in the cake. At that moment, 선생님 opened the door! HAHA! It was super hilarious! She was so shocked and surprised that her face was blushing! I thought she almost cried! Lol! We gave her cards too. There were 2 cards. Then when she opened and read it, she pointed out a mistake in the Korean word that one of my class mate wrote. lol. Then we took quite a lot of photos with her, and then she suddenly realised that too much of the lesson time was taken to do all these and settled us down before giving us a listening practice.

I will miss my 선생님! She's so cute and funny. She is very encouraging! Every time we were told to read, she will comment "good", I think she is trying to get us all to speak up more.

After lessons, I met up with Paul and Sam, together with yz and Joel, we went to eat the legendary famous 토속촌 사게탕!!! We met up at around 645pm at WooDang Hall before setting out to 경복궁 station. Once you reach the station, look for exit 2 and walk out of the station. Follow the streets, walk all the way down, past Baskin Robins. Look for the Neon sign that reads 토속촌 사게탕. It's not very far from the station, around 100m. The place is super super famous so you must and have to wait to try it. Not sure if there's reservation though.

You have to removed your shoes when you enter the eating place. The place is pretty well decorated. It looks like those traditional homes where people have different rooms for different activities. Here, the rooms were all for eating. And it's quite packed inside. Once we got a seat, they served us the Ginseng Shot and Ginseng Tea. Cool isn't it?

It tastes better than the previous one that I tried.

The soup is awesome!!! The price is also awesome!! Black chicken is expensive! But I think it's worth a try cause you won't be eating it everyday. The ginseng chicken has a very large piece of ginseng stuffed inside it. The ginseng was very tender, I believed that it's been boiled with the soup for very long. Hence the essence of the ginseng resides in the glutinous rice inside the chicken and the soup! There were also chestnut, black sesame, sunflower seeds in it. SUPERB NICE! This time round, we didn't go for ice cream, cause I felt too full and most of us had not much money left.

After dinner, we went back to our dorms. Since Paul is leaving on Thursday morning, and he has plans on Wednesday, we decided to give him the souvenirs we bought from Singapore, the BBQ Pork (Bakkwa from Bee Cheng Hiang). LOL! Also, Singapore Curry by Joel. It's nice having Paul to show us around and do the translation. Thanks Paul!

Day 39 - 01 August

Woke up super early to go for a run today because I didn't get to run yesterday and I'm feeling very unhealthy. I went to the gym at 715am, and ran for 20mins. The treadmill stated that I burnt 200 plus calories, which is so little?! But nevermind, I shall do more running when I get back to Singapore!

I think it's because of the run this morning, I felt extremely sleepy throughout the day. I slept during the developmental psychology lecture, didn't have enough concentration for Korean Lesson. Oh my goodness! And I felt super hungry after Social Psychology! I think I spent too much energy trying to stay awake during lesson, and I bought this chocolate bar, which tastes a little like snickers. FAT!

Lunch was as usual, taken after developmental psychology lecture. I think I am eating more and more in Korea. Bad sign. Time to stop eating so much.

I still love the dessert! The hotcake taste alike yellow thing on the top left, it's decorated with hersey's chocolate sauce. YUM!

Dinner was with 용완씨at around Anam area. He brought me to a BBQ place. The pork tastes absolutely delicious!! Super tender!! He ordered a Soju too. It was quite awkward initially as there was a bit of communication problem. HAHA. But it was alright after a while. I don't really know how to eat the pork so I just followed what he did! HAHA! As learned from Social Psychology, this is called Informational Social Influence where you observe what others around you are doing and you think that it is the correct/ appropriate behaviour and follow suit.

Day 38 - 31 July

I thought it was going to be a bright Sunny day? But NO! It rained the moment I stepped out of the dorm. Like really once I reached the lobby it rained! ARGH! I did bring along my umbrella though so it wasn't that bad. I thought of going to Myeong-Dong today to get some stuff but since it was raining the whole day, I decided not to.

McDonald's here is slightly cheaper, just that the orange juice is not from those dispenser you see in Singapore, it's Minute Maid brand orange juice, equally nice! I had hot cakes and it was marvelous! I've been wanting to try some pancakes and I got it today!

As mentioned earlier it rained the whole day, so I stayed in the dorm the whole day. Only went out for meals. So lunch was also nice! Had lunch at the Frontier Cafe again, the "buffet" kind. There's fried rice today! Plus some Zha Jian Mian sauce and friend chicken patty. I had 2 rounds, Kenny had 4 and Yz had 1. It cost only 3000Won! But of cos since we don't understand the menu if we were to eat it everyday, it will be a week of surprises! Plus I will become super fat then.

Dinner was at some Japanese restaurant which, in my opinion, serves the worst sushi ever! The rice was quite hard and the seafood on it looks sooooo not fresh and the colour isn't bright at all! But the udon tastes not bad. So dinner was the worst out of the 3 meals today. HAHA. Today's so boring that I actually ranked the meals. omg. Oh. I went to gym before dinner and the treadmills were all taken and the people on it ran super long. So I got sian of it and went back to my dorm after cycling for a while at the gym. Will try to go gym tml morning to run. Feel very unhealthy.

Day 37 - 30 July (Insa-Dong)

Finally we went to Insa-Dong, one of the tourist place.

Prior to Insa-Dong, Kenny brought us to a famous Stew place near Insa-Dong. It's located near the Anguk Subway Station, Exit 1, walk towards Starbucks, follow through some atas cafe, walk past a school, then to a road with trees by the sideS. And you will see a sign like this:

Fortunately we went there early, so we escaped the long queue! Phew. Look at the queue in the later pictures. We reached there at around 1145am and after a while, the queue came! Anyway, we order Budae jijae ttubokki, Cheese ttubokki and Beef ttubokki with 1 ramen, 1 Q noodles, 1 plate of mandoo and 1 plate of fried seaweed something. It's all cooked together with the special ttubokki sauce and this is how it looks like!

Are you salivating? I love this! The sauce is BEST!! Would prefer the darker cheese but this is nice too!

After lunch, we went to Insa-Dong, it's just across the street. My main aim was to eat the superb nice Green Tea Ice Cream bing su! And we arrived at the place, O'sulloc Tea House.

This is the mega nice roasted green tea!! Chao Best de!! I tried it and omg it tastes so qing shuang!! How I wish I can buy like 1 kg of it back! I bought a smaller packet of it though, plus green tea latte and some brain empowering water mix for minghao and myself. LOL!

This is the tea house. We decided to re visit it after exploring Insa-Dong as we were still full from the jigae.

Walked around Insa-Dong and found this. I didn't buy it cos I'm saving my stomach for the bing su! I bought some snacks for my relatives and tutees, like finally.

After exploring Insa-Dong, we went back to the tea house. It was a long walk back and the weather was hot today. But I'm glad it didn't rain! Nice weather! WHEE!

We were all so tired and sweaty from the walking, so no more shopping for us as we head back to our dear dorms. Went to gym for a while to cut some calories and blood sugar. Will be going for a run tomorrow. After gym, we went to have dinner, and I finally had bibimbap! It's not bad just that the portion is too small, and there were not much beef also.

Day 36 - 29 July

Today's weather is super good! There isn't rain throughout the whole day!!

We went Myeong-Dong today. Met yanzhi and joel at 11am at the kitchen before setting off. We went to Lotte Mart at Euljiro 1-ga. Initially we thought the Hypermart would sell some powdered form of ginseng chicken, but apparently it doesn't. They sell the whole chicken with the soup in it. Should I get that back home? Feel like eating that though. I think I should get 2 of that. LOL.

Ok. After a futile trip to Lotte Mart, we walked to Myeong-Dong to have our lunch. We finally had some Chinese food! And it tastes superbly nice! It's been a long time since I ate Chinese cuisine! But the price is a bit steep.

After the wonderful meal, my level of happiness shot up! We then went to shop around. We went a lot of places that I totally have no idea where we went. Myeong-Dong is quite big, so it's no easy to locate a particular shop because there are millions of Faceshop, Etude House, Tony Moly, Skinfood around! I bought a few shirts and pants from SPAO. The quality is quite good. It looks like Korea's uniqlo.

As we shop, we saw Bee Cheng Hiang!

The 1,500won super worth it ice cream in Myeong-Dong. I had the green tea with vanilla yogurt flavor. I find it not bad for the money paid. Nice. Just that it melts quickly under the hot weather! I'm going to eat it again!

Then we went to meet Kenny at SPAO at around 630pm. It feels very uncomfortable when I have a phone but cannot call the other person. And even if there's wifi, I can't be sure that the other person has wifi. So it's like living in an era with no cell-phone. Went to the top of SPAO and saw the SM artistes products.

Kenny, Joel, Yz and I then went to shop around for masks. Kenny is seriously a big spender. He spent a lot on masks already. I pale in comparison. HAHA! But that's a good thing!! Luggage do not have so much space. I think I need to buy more apparels. At 730pm, Kenny left and we were supposed to meet Audrey and Co. but then we were too late for the meet up. Hence, we went to dinner on our own. Found this mega big pork katsu place.

This cheese pork cutlet is bigger than my face! Though it's quite thin, you will feel super filled after eating it (well, at least for me). Jun and Kenny probably wouldn't feel that. LOL!

After a long day outside, I broke my record of going out from 11am till 11pm and walking around the whole day, only sitting down to rest during meal times. BEST! I'm so tired. And I need to revise for social psych soon. Maybe tomorrow evening after Insa-Dong-ing.

Time passes super quickly for me. Next week would be the last week of Summer. I've not visited every part of Seoul yet though. It's a bit ambitious to do that with so many lessons and work. Oh and I have not take much photos with people. HAHA. Almost all of my photos are food and scenery. I need to at least visit some tourists visiting areas. And I hope to come Korea with my family and Rebel! I wish to master/ at least understand and be able to speak Korean before the next trip to Korea.

Day 35 - 28 July (Noraebang)

Another rainy day! Sian. Today was quite fun. I finally experienced the "kbox" of Korea. The number of Chinese songs of cos were very limited. But the room is mega huge! Bigger than those in Singapore. Nice. But we can't really sing the Korean songs. So we chose English songs and Chinese songs. I still prefer going with my rebels to sing song!! I miss them!! I miss my family also!! I want to return to Singapore now!! Jiamin best lor, can return so soon!! I still have my exams to fight, and I still have some shopping to do, but the rain just dampen my mood to the lowest ever level!! SIGH!! The only thing that can make me happy in Korea is FOOD!! It's quite annoying sometimes so I can't understand the menu!! SIAN!! I just realise that my English is totally Singlished!!

I've a big blueblack on my left knee from the badminton session last Tuesday. And my right thigh aches. I need to exercise more. Ate so much sinful stuff this week. And very few fruits. =(

Day 34 - 27 July

Weather: Thunderstorm, again.

I forgotten to replace my stock of breakfast yesterday! Luckily Jun 씨 bought me a noodle a few weeks back. So I had that for my breakfast. The rain lasted the whole day today. It's terrible. And both my shoes were wet so I had to wear slippers to school. Plus bermudas.

Lunch in school canteen. The pancake tastes like roti prata minus the crispiness. The dumpling sauce tastes like filet-O-fish tartar sauce.

After lunch we went up to level 6 to study again. The weather was so bad that it actually felt quite cold at the 6th story.

I fell asleep while reading Baumeister's paper! Super long and complex.

After school, we went to Sinchon where Yonsei University is located at. Joana wanted to bring us to a chicken stew place but she forgot where is it. So we settled for Happy Table. HAHA!

Then we went to search for the dessert place. Joana couldn't find it. So we just walk around aimlessly and finally found another branch of the dessert shop - Iceberry! Walking around in the rain is no joke. The rain feels like some shower head, it gets heavy on and off! Weird weather! My poor umbrella suffered so much during this trip. Thank goodness it's still surviving!

Summer is going to end. It's going to be so sad. Because back in NUS, the stress level will be elevated to new heights once again! SIGH! I'm liking the style of studying here. Cos there's no TV to distract me! HAHA! I can't study when a TV is within my reach.

Anyway, I had fun today. Audrey was talking about the sms languages like moi, gurl, gal, boi etc. And she was saying how we used to use those language which we find it not very nice to use now.

Day 33 - 26 July (Badminton in KU)

It rained like mad today! As bad as yesterday! Damn sad! My shoes are still drenched.

My dev psychology test overall should be above 90 since I did the surveys. I better go double check it later.

Today is NUS bidding round 1A. I've got all my modules. All 4 of it. Planning to just take 4 modules this semester, and do 5 next semester, followed by 2 mods each for year 4 plus FYP. If I can get Korean Language this semester I wouldn't mind taking it! And I do hope I can get it since it's still fresh in my mind. Hopefully I can get level 1 korean this semester.

After lesson today at 640pm, it was still raining like mad! Peiquan, Daniel and I went to Tiger Dorm to play badminton with some Korea Uni badminton club people. Heard from Daniel that Im Kyu said that they are recreational players, not the actual team. But some are quite good. I played with them and every start of the match they will say 안녕하서요. Most of the players are younger than us! Sigh. And one of them said I was older looking than Daniel?! *roll eyes* Hahaha. Im Kyu wanted to join us for dinner but none of his badminton mates want to join so he find it a bit weird and went off with them. He is one of them who can speak English fluently. Ok. I'm so tired that I didn't take a photo of my spicy ramen rice cake dinner. YAWNS! I haven't complete my Social psych readings. Bad bad! Plus Korean Language, I don't have the time to revise yet.

Day 32 - 25 July

After a tough day in school due to the very difficult Developmental Psychology test, I went to the school canteen and the food made me happy! There were my favourite mandoo, kimchi pancake and fried chicken! NICE! Social Psych test was returned, I've got 92 again. Hopefully finals will also be a 92 marks. Then at least I am still safe at the scholarship range.

Ok. I have another 11 days left with my room mate and friends in Korea. Sounds a bit sad. I will miss the food here, though they are expensive. I will also miss my friends I've made here, especially non-Singaporean friends.

Anyway, I went to meet Jiamin today at Dongdaemun, and I felt so helpless when I can't find the exit 14 which she said. There isn't exit 14 and I'm like omg what should I do. So I went all around ddm to search for her. I vibered her for 12 times (though her phone only recorded 9), I what's app her, KaKao talked her. Did all I can to find Wifi area. OMG. That was the most fearful experience in Seoul. I was so afraid that she might leave DDM, I was so afraid that she is waiting at another exit, was so afraid that something might happen. Fortunately, when I returned to DDM station, she was there, at the same exit I exit from. If she went to another exit, that's it. All would be gone! PHEW! I'm experiencing life w/o a cell phone now. It's quite bad. Wondered how people in the past meet up.

When I met up with her, the torrential rain came and my shoes got mega drenched!! It was so uncomfortable! But hanging out with Jm made me feel better. Heng one of my best friend is here with me in Seoul!! I miss the rest :(

Was supposed to meet Jiamin today. But she was too tired after moving her stuff from her SKKU dorm to a guesthouse. Today was a tiring day for me too. I don't know why. I felt so tired after each meal today. Will be mtg her tml at DongDaeMun.

Yz and I saw Weiqi and Zhi Hui going back to dorm when we went out to eat. Something is going on between them I guess. And we saw them again, with wai san this time, at the cafe above GS25, but they came in to see what are there to eat and decided not to eat there cause it's not appealing to them. HAHA. Yz and I ate it though. I find it quite nice. I like the glass noodles.

Had a day of fun yesterday. And today yz, kenny, Minjung and I went to Myeong-Dong for some shopping spree. We went to Lotte Youth Plaza to shop for some clothes. And I bought another shirt for my mum from Zara cos it's on mega sales! As we shopped and shopped, time just flew past so quickly and it was time for lunch. We walked all the way back to Myeong-Dong and went to the main streets. Found some great chicken place to eat. Look at the photos!

This is the 4 person share! Humongous!! There's the glass noodles hidden under the chicken and a lot of potato hidden in it! We didn't know that there's glass noodles so we ordered rice as well! OMG. Felt so bloated after the meal! Kenny must be happy cause he can eat a lot!

I did a lot of walking today. I feel so tired now. ARGH. Though I bought quite a few stuff. But I think my friends got more! Roll eyes! Sigh. This is teh 4th week and the Summer Program will be ending soon. So sad!

I'll be meeting Jiamin tomorrow at some cafe to study. She is feeling super bored now. Anyone from Rebel wants to come Korea and accompany her?

Day 29 - 22 July (DMZ, Namsam Tower, Teddy Bear Museum)

SUPER TIRING DAY!! Early in the morning at 820am, we assembled at WooDang Hall and headed to DMZ/JSA Tour. I didn't regret going to DMZ because it allowed me to know more about the place and the price is cheaper compared to other tours conducted outside. Furthermore, transport was provided and the lunch was splendid! Just that there weren't enough time to eat. KU provided breakfast for us, ChocoPie and Bread. Good enough to fill my stomach. The trip to DMZ took us 2.5hour in the morning and 1.5 hour back due to traffic jam.

I was quite shocked at the number of photos I took today, so i just randomly posted some here. At the DMZ/JSA, one has to follow strictly to the rules, and the place is quite solemn. Everything seem so serious that it freak me out a little. It's quite an eye opener to see such sensitive stuff up close. Oh. And the tunnel was really omg I don't know how to describe.

I've climbed enough slopes today. And it's time to rest my legs soon.

Ended at the Dora Observatory Tower.

The weather was too foggy to really see anything over the DMZ area. Because DMZ is quite a sensitive topic, I don't know how much I can say, so it's better not to talk much. If you want to know more, maybe just join any tour to that area.

We were back in Korea University ahead of schedule. Then we decided to go to Namsam Tower!! Emma, Olivia, yz and I went up buy bus. Quite fast and cheap!

We bought the packaged tickets for the teddy bear museum and observatory tower. 14,000 Won. It's worth it I think given that I like to visit such places. And I took over 200 photos. We met Zhi Hui and Wai San at Namsam Tower and we went as a group.

After millions of photo taking session in the Teddy Bear Museum, we went on to the Observatory Tower. Took some photos there, but again the weather was rather foggy, hence, the photos took were not very nice.

As Namsam Tower is famous for couples, there were a lot of things meant for couples. So the love word is almost everywhere.

DEAD BEAT. Took the lousy cable car down from Namsam Tower and it's freaking dumb. The cable car was so squeezy that we couldn't take much photos. And there were no scenery to view at night. Fail. Then we walked to Myeong Dong and ate Lotteria for dinner. It was already 11pm plus then.

Oh ya. the funny thing was that we were trying to capture the Namsam Tower full view with our faces in the photo that we took turns to take it. From then on, we were in a photo taking spree. We saw this fountain that was changing colour and we went to take every colour of it. Really crazy. But it was fun. A great day spent!

Dead tired now. If I have the time. Maybe I will update this post. If not this would be it. So tired that I just brisked through this post.

Day 28 - 22 July (Itaewon)

Social Psychology test is over! Left with finals. Monday would be Developmental Psych 3rd test. If I do well, then I won't have to go for the 4th test. Hence, there's a strong need to do well!

I went to Itaewon today with Daniel, Yz, Joel and Pei Quan. Itaewon isn't as happening as I expected. There were many bars, restaurants, hotels and foreigners! It's a place for foreigners I think. The items they sell there ain't cheap, out to earn money I would say. There's nothing much to shop there. Plus, a lot of shops were not open when we were there at around 7pm. And they closes super early. By 10pm, there were only a few shops that are open. Didn't buy anything there, just had meal at Homemade Meal. Nice settings. Nice food. Feels like home cooked food just that it's Korean. I want to eat Roti Prata!

Day 27 - 20 July

Seems like Seoul is experiencing a heat wave now. omg. Its really scorching here in the morning and afternoon, and they have longer days. Their 7pm looks like 5pm in Singapore. Made me feel like there's still a lot of time.

Anyway today was a boring day. No activities. I've registered for DMZ day trip. Though it cost like 30,000 won, I believe it's worth it given that lunch is provided and round trip. A pity that no camera is allowed. And the bus will be leaving at 820am! means I need to wake up super super early!

Jiamin will be free next week. Enjoy to the max! While I will be having exams tml and monday! SIANZ. Means more reading. I can't believe that I actually read so many psychology papers! More than my Life Science papers! In comparison, psych papers are more interesting lah. haha. Will be meeting jiamin on Monday! Tuesday most probably will be going to visit KU's badminton club.

My breakfast! Ate 6 small litte buns! Nice red beans inside. It's going to expire tml. So I have to gorge down the remaining 6 buns tml.

I didn't notice this carpark of CJ-Int'l House until today. Quite nice.

Day 25 - 18 July (Korean Test)

The Korean test today was 쉬워요 (i.e easy). Very cool, I can now type in Korean! LOL! Allows me to practice Korean at the same time. Nice. Luckily I did the self introduction paragraph yesterday on blog, and it came out, asking us to write at least 4 sentences to self introduce ourselves.

Lunch was good today! But a pity there's no 김치pancake.

There's finally no rain today! And its super warm! 뎌워요!

This was before the Korean test. Revised like mad since it's the first time I'm taking a foreign language test.

Day 24 - 17 July

I finally feel the Sun today when walking out for lunch! Went to Biya for lunch.

They only have Budae jigae I think, since I don't know how to decipher their menu.

So yz and I ordered Budae jigae and added one ramen (aka instant noodles) in. It has sausages, rice cake, cabbages, minced beef and some chewy tranparent noodles which tastes like "dong fen". We couldn't communicate with the waiter there so we just 比手画脚 plus a bit of English. HAHA! It was super funny. I think the waiter felt very troubled.

We felt super super full after the meal! Shouldn't have added the additional ramen. But anyway it was not bad. Went back to the dorm to study a bit before going to gym and dinner. Gabriel told us that there is this cafe above the GS 25 (one of the convenient stores) which is sort of buffet style. It cost only 4000won. But there is a menu for the buffet everyday. You can take as many portions as you want but they only serve what is on the menu and usually there isn't much variety. There's beef today though! And it tastes not bad.

I took two bowls of the beef. And felt extremely full again!

Day 23 - 16 July (KBS Tour & Hwaseong Haenggung)

Woke up super early today cos we are going to for KBS Drama Settings tour at Suwon, outside of Seoul. It takes around 2hours plus to get to Suwon I guess. So we traveled all the way from Anam to Gangnam where we took a bus to Suwon.

This is how the train in Seoul looks like. Looks pretty similar everywhere I guess.

Waited for bus 3002 to Suwon from Gangnam Subway Station.

The ride to Suwon via the bus took around 30-45mins I guess. We reached Suwon at around 1pm, and the tour starts at 130pm. So we had half an hour for lunch. We found KBS and settled for some nearby cafe for lunch.

The torrential rain came after we finished our lunch! Seriously! When KBS is only a street away, the rain wants to spoil the mood. ARGH! Nevertheless, we braved through the rain (haha) and arrived at KBS.

It's a pity the tour is in Korean. So it doesn't really matter if we listen or not cos I don't understand. There were only 2 ppl who understand Korean in the group of people who went. So the tour started and we were all busy taking photos! And we were always lagging behind the tour. It's a bit embarrassing cos the rest of the Koreans were waiting for us, and the tour guide starts only when we assembled. Until a point, where he just continued without us. LOL!

Ok. Done with the tour at around 315pm. Audrey and Sarah went back first cos they were too tired. The rest of us continued to the HwaSeong Haenggung Palace. It's the place where they filmed 大长今. The palace was super big. We finished the lower level of the palace and realised that there was this stairs leading ALL the way up to a pavilion at the TOP of the MOUNTAIN! Obviously, we didn't climb up.

Finished the tour. And the rain started coming again! We went to eat one of the specialty of Suwon, galbi. It's BBQ Pork that the Koreans wrap in lettuce and onions plus some sauce. NICE!!

Weather: Rainy again.

I finally met my buddy today. Initially we wanted to have Pancakes for brunch. But the stores were not opened! So we headed back to KU, to Cine Cafe and had our brunch there. She just had a cup of coffee while I had tuna bread and kiwi juice.

When I returned to my dorm, I couldn't contact yanzhi and Joel. So I went lunch with Mr Kenny Choo at the school cafe. Budget. Reached the cafe at around 1225. Was taken aback by the long queue but we still got in to the line in the end.

After lunch it was 1250pm. I thought I will miss the bus or something, so I just flew out of the canteen. It was raining madly! Gross! Got on the school bus heading for Nanta show!!! Was quite shocked when I didn't see yz and Joel on the bus. But luckily they showed up in the end!

In my opinion, I think that the head chef of the Nanta show looks like Lin Jun Jie. HAHA! He's damn funny. Plus the small little rookie guy, hilarious! There were times I think the head chef were so amused by us, the audience, that he 笑场. He's damn funny! OMG!!

We stood outside the theater and discussed where to go. Actually we already have an idea of where to go, at least for Joel, Yz and I. But we stayed on for their discussion, asking who else wanted to watch Harry Potter. In the end only the 3 of us went. We need to thank Peiquan's buddy HungSik who led us the way to Myeong Dong area, Lotte Mart where the cinema was.

We arrived at Lotte mart, and like typical lost sheeps, we wandered around the departmental store to find the Lotte Cinema! The lift system in Korea is different from those in Singapore, their elevator only served certain levels and some served B1, some served odd and even levels.

We went to purchase the tickets for Harry Potter! Then we went to shop around for a while, and came across this event hall where they are having some mega sale! But not much to buy though, cos mostly are those extremely big sizes or extremely small sizes. Need to practice some digging before you can find your sizes.
