In the 1960s the Mini became famous as Britain's most successful rally car. The works Minis not only won the Monte Carlo three times - 1964, 1965 and 1967 - along with the European Rally Championship in 1965, but also won events all over the world. Because Minis were British, and well-promoted, they became seen as giant-killers, and were the peoples favorite for many years. The car outpaced many of its rivals, and this book examines exactly who they were, and how they came to be defeated by the "mighty Mini."

K&N Typhoon? Intake System is built for performance and show. The Typhoon? Air Intake System is a free-flowing mandrel-bent aluminum tube induction system. This Short Ram (SR) Typhoon intake is designed to dramatically reduce intake restriction allowing more air flow to your engine. Turbo Outlet Pipe

The R56 MINI Cooper S engine utilizes a turbocharger to pressurize the intake tract to force feed the engine air to produce power. The factory set-up uses an 'intake muffler' with reduced diameter and baffling that prevents 'smooth' airflow.

The Premium Hi-Flow Turbo Outlet Pipe eliminates the intake muffler and replaces the factory rubber hose between the turbocharger and intercooler (hot-side) with a new CNC mandrel bent pipe and silicone couplers that will not expand under boost.

Front Mount Intercooler

As a reduction in intake air temperature increases the density of the charge mixture within the combustion cylinder any temperature reductions will equate to more power. This intercooler is constructed using a combined 80/40mm high thermal efficiency core, with a 250% larger surface area and a 125% thicker base core, to achieve the best possible results.

In fact even in relatively low road speeds / air velocities our intercooler was able to better the OEM unit by nine degrees centigrade, with greater improvements being achievable during greater speeds during track testing. The replacement intercooler is supplied with all the mountings and a replacement lower grill to allow ease of installation.

Please note that this kit has been designed to fit behind the standard Cooper S front panel. If an alternative front panel has been installed, clearances may be reduced and trimming may be required.

The new TitaNM turbo heat shield is designed to redirect heat from the turbocharger down and around the engine. This reduces intake temps and protects the paint on the bonnet. Unlike other heat shields, this unit does not completely encase the turbo as it would severely hamper the turbocharger?s heat dissipation and reliability.
