Latest on Minus is a parody track from Marc Houle, which attempts to take the piss out of the trend towards pitched down vocals in minimal techno ('RU OK?' 'Charly', 'Can You Relate?', '25 Bitches', etc.) Maybe this is a gimmick that is totally played out in the Minus camp - 'Techno Vocals' surely got a release because it made Richie laugh - but I actually quite like the trend. There's a hint of gangster blackness to it (the lyrics are often black slang), not a bad strategy for nerdy white laptoppers, and the results are also often dissociative and dread-filled, which is a useful mood to add to the bag of tricks. (Villalobos used a pitched down vocal brilliantly on his unnerving remix of Shackleton's 'Blood On My Hands', which somehow conveyed the out-of-body horror of September 11th by combining the intoned phrase "When I see the towers fall..." with toppling over techno.)

Gui Boratto (born 1974 in São Paulo, Brazil) is a Brazilian DJ and electronic music producer.

Hailing from São Paulo, Boratto works (as of 2007) for Brazilian and multinational recording companies and is responsible for international licensings. Together with his brother Tchorta, he also runs his own independent record label called Mega Music.

He has released on labels such as Kompakt, Audiomatique, Harthouse and Plastic City. He has appeared in the charts and playlists of many leading DJs and producers, including Michael Mayer, Tiefschwarz, Steve Bug, Phonique, Martin Landsky, Hernan Cattaneo, Deep Dish and countless others.His album Chromophobia, has been well received in Britain and in April 2007 was awarded the title of Mixmag Album of the Month.

Minimal Tech (Minimal techno) is a kind of electronic dance music that is considered a minimalist sub-genre of techno. It is characterized by a stripped-down aesthetic that exploits the use of repetition, and undeveloped beats. This style of dance music production adheres to the motto "less is more"; a principle that has been previously utilized, to great effect, in architecture, design, visual art, etc. The tradition of minimalist aesthetics in Western culture can be traced to the German Bauhaus movement (1919 to 1933). Minimal techno is thought to have been originally developed in the early 1990s by Detroit based producers Robert Hood and Daniel Bell.

Philip Sherburne, asserts that minimal techno uses two specific stylistic approaches, one being skeletalism, and the other massification. According to Sherburne, in skeletal minimal techno, only the core elements are included with embellishments used only for the sake of variation within the song.
Sherburne states that, like most contemporary electronic dance music, minimal techno has its roots in the landmark works of pioneers such as Kraftwerk and Detroit Techno's Derrick May and Juan Atkins.
