<title><![CDATA[Manager, Systems Accounting - Minneapolis, MN]]></title>

Responsible for the management and strategic direction of the Systems Accounting section of the Finance Division including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Cash Receipts; Coordinate communication, claims, renewal, and coverage level for corporate insurance policies including Professional Liability, Workers Compensation, Commercial Property &amp;amp; Automobile liability, Directors and Officers and Fiduciary/Crime policies; and other related accounting functions of MMRF. Develop and implement internal auditing functions and procedures related to Systems Accounting functions. Responsible for banking activities.  May supervise staff

DUTIES

Develop, implement, and continuously improve systems and procedures to meet customer needs.

Ensure quality and productivity standards are met in the Systems Accounting Section.

Develop, maintain and implement Systems Accounting policy manuals, standards and strategic goals. 

Attend meetings, participate on or Chair committees and assist with organizational programs as appropriate for Systems Accounting Section and staff.

Direct and coordinate accounting software upgrades.

Monitors non-payroll expenditure process to ensure compliance with IRS business expense guidelines under an accountable plan, resolve issues and maintain the MMRF Business Expense Policy manual.

Review and monitor payments through Accounts payable which are related to benefits, taxes and contract payments




QUALIFICATIONS


Typical qualifications would be a baccalaureate in Accounting and five (5) years of applicable accounting experience which includes all phases of the accounting function/cycle.  Supervisory experience and experience in sponsored research/fund accounting field preferred.


Requires interaction with a diverse population.  Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication, organizational and leadership skills.  Detail oriented.  Strong human relation and problem solving skills.  Maintains confidential information.  Demonstrates a working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, report writing software and computerized general ledger systems.  Must have knowledge of accounting, payroll, general ledger, accounts payable, cash receipts, fixed assets, financial audit and internal control processes and procedures.  Operates with minimal supervision.

Research study involving shared decision making tools between providers and patients suffering with depression to determine if there is a way to enhance communication and improve patient medication adherence and outcomes. 

DUTIES

Screen, recruits patient, and determine patient eligibility for participation in study via patient histories, test results, medical exams, etc.  Collect and interprets study data in an organized and precise fashion to maintain data integrity.  Disburse funds to study participants on a timely basis and accurately reconciles grant accounts.  Responsible for protocol initiation, procedural adherence, and compliance. Coordinate materials for Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions and assists in writing, editing and submissions for conferences, abstracts and journal articles. 

Willingly act as a resource person to other medical staff regarding study protocol and interpretation.

Ability to respond to patient recruitment opportunities as they arise (in real time).

Routinely maintain accurate patient files and updated patient tracking data. 

Regularly schedule study related testing as required by protocols. 

Ensure consent forms are up to date and in accordance with IRB regulations.

Coordinate schedules and room availabilities.  Attend study meetings.  Willing to do in-state travel. Manage IRB submissions and renewals.




QUALIFICATIONS

Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills is qualifying.  Typical qualifications would be a baccalaureate degree and one (1) year experience with the specified research field.  

Requires interaction with a diverse population.  Demonstrate a working knowledge of basic computer applications.  Knowledge of research design, protocols, and analysis; knowledge of regulatory aspects of clinical research.  Ability to work independently, be self-directed and motivate, and demonstrate effective oral and written communication.  Skilled in problem solving and keeping detailed records and files. QUALIFICATIONS

Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills is qualifying.  Typical qualifications would be a Master's degree in Biostatistics, statistics, or related field.  0-3 years experience in computer applications, information systems, database concepts, statistical programming in clinical data analyses and complex data sets, analysis and interpretation and documentation and outcome measurements/analysis is desired.  Experience working in a medical and/or research setting is preferred.  

Requires interaction with a diverse population.  Knowledge of statistics including survival analysis and related statistical techniques.  Skills in statistical computing with statistical packages in PC and larger computing environments.  Experience with complex survey data analysis and Medicare claims analysis.  Must be able to meet deadlines, be flexible, strong problem solving skills, and work effectively in a team environment.  Must demonstrate effective written and oral communication, strong presentation and listening skills.  Display high standards of attendance, punctuality, maintains confidentiality, and manages time effectively.
