Welcome to “The House of Harriet”. In my shop you can find handpainted and handmade crockery, and order costum made and personalized ceramics.
I studied grafic design and illustration at the Rietveldacademie in Amsterdam and worked as an illustrator for many years. Today I also use ceramics as my canvas. I cast, paint, glaze and fire stoneware and porcelain in my small studio in Amsterdam. I paint tile murals and decorate all types of crockery and make designs for industrial puposes.

I irem petek guven, love to welcome you in my store which is a showcase for my imagination.

Curious about my history?...then read, if not; just jump to the other paragraph! My other creative persona is a graphic designer who works as an instructor, in the graphic design department of Bilkent University and as a free-lance graphic designer. My undergraduate degree is in graphic design and I also have a graduate degree in packaging design from Bilkent University. I have an award from NY for an ice-cream package design and I also have 3 Best Design awards From the Bijorcha accessories exhibition in Paris. As you see I was and am exposed to lot of creative fields.
Creating new things makes me very happy, it’s kind of all about creating things to make people happy. I want to make products full of life and with their own personality. In our culture today, consumerism seems to be all about buying and buying. I try to achieve a good quality and ethically made products that would end up with A BIG SMILE IN THE MIND!

We are both sculptors and started twobeans as a shop that carries our small functional pieces, but we also are open to custom orders.

As a child I was very much inspired by the glitter of natural jewels. Actually, I am inspired by all things beautiful and all that energy is channeled into jewelry design. I just love creating beautiful things and I love artistic expression.
I create my elegant and classic jewelry by scouring the web and local bead stores for natural gems and creative ideas. Then I sit down and doodle out some designs. I experiment with bead patterns and pendent ideas. I mix and match colors. One thing leads to another and before I know it I’ve created an exquisite necklace and earring set that will enhance any women’s natural beauty.
All my jewelry creations are exclusive, one of a kind pieces made from a collection of precious and semi-precious gemstones, Swarovski® crystals, sterling silver, fine silver and gold vermeil. Fine silver pendents are hand formed from silver clay which is fired to create 99.9% pure silver components that resist tarnishing. This clay is composed of microscopic silver particles, filler and water. In its clay form I shape it into custom designed beads and pendants. After firing the clay the artistic result is a one of a kind piece that will never go out of style.
For me the art of self-expression is personal and unique for each person. Jewelry is a way for women to express their individuality to the world. After all, everyone deserves to feel a bit pampered every once in a while and my creative purpose is to make that happen for all women.

We are a family team, compiled so far of my mother-in-law and myself, Casey. More members to come, we know that Nicole will jump on board with her amazing toll painting and woodworking skills, and there are many other gals with many many talents to add. Mum (Val) has been making beautiful designs for many years, for all of her children and grandchildren, from beautiful blessing gowns, blankets, pillows and knitted wash cloths. Welcome to the Mintd shop of Jan Geisen, polymer clay jewelry artist. I have a BA degree, from a very long time ago, and originally concentrated on printmaking and photography. About 18 years ago I discovered polymer clay and the millefiori technique. I also discovered after making my very first millefiori cane jewelry, that I am really an “improve” artist. I spent more time working with the scraps from that first millefiori cane, than with the cane itself. No two pieces of my jewelry will ever be alike. Polymer clay is such an amazing medium that I still haven’t exhausted its possibilities, so you will probably see my style change as I discover new ways of working with the clay.

I am originally from the east coast and moved here to the Midwest 4 years ago. The challenge of starting over again sounded great and challenging, but the thought of looking for new ideas in a different place was also going to be a great challenge as well but like always I am up to a great challenge.
All my life I have enjoyed working with my hands and making things for people. I have worked with such mediums as, Acrylics, oils, ceramic, Fabric, wire jewelry making, but although I love all these mediums none has given me more pleasure then to work with polymer clay.
Polymer clay is a great medium to work with because it is so versatile. I have been working with polymer clay for 12 years now and each day there is always something new to learn. Mostly I work making polymer clay beads which is rewarding because you can push yourself each time to see what you can come up with next.
I also do special requests from people for beads, and I find that talking with your clients you also get great ideas from them as well. Every bead that I do is of my own design so no two will ever look alike. All my beads are unique and each one has its own character.
I also am a Wire jewelry artist www.mysartaviacreations.com I have been doing wire work for about 8 years now and it a great stress reliever just like polymer clay.
