The pair still in consolidation. The pair has not have a breakout (see my previous analysis) as I expected. However, the support at 208.76-209.50 seems to hold for the moment. The chart shown that we should have a breakout next week. First target upside is the FE 100.0 at 216.40 and the target below is the 23rd January low at 204.72.

First thing first, above is GBPJPY daily chart update from my previous post on technical analysis. The pair has reached the resistance (213.86) as expected. The pair retrace in the last day of trading, forming an ascending triangle pattern. So, I made further analysis. Below is another GBPJPY daily chart, showing the Fibonacci level of the drop (251.09-204.72) counted as A-B-C. Adding the Fibonacci expansion (C-1-2), we can see the FE 161.8 level near the 61.8% Fibonacci retracement level at 222.43. I expect a breakout of 213.90 late next week to open a long term position targeting the FE 161.8 area, or buy at trendline to minimize the Stop Loss. Have a good weekend guys. :)

Above is GBP/JPY daily chart. My last post was on 13 January (yellow circle). The pair continued to drop until 204.59 (B) and bounced to 38.2% Fibonacci level of 230.32 (A) to 204.59 (B). The pair is consolidate at the moment as shown in the chart, forming a higher low. I expect a move to its resistance for next week which is the trendline or the previous high at 112.09-213.97 area. If it breaks, the pair might continue to 50% Fibonacci level and 61.8% after that. I will update the analysis in 2 weeks. Happy trading all.
