If any of you have boys you know how hard they are on clothes right. My boys go through clothes so fast and mainly because they rip them or get stains on them and all that mess. It is so hard to keep nice things for them because, well they are boys lol. So when I came across Grab A Scab I had to check them out.

What Are Scabs?

The Story Of Scabs

Scabs are my practical and entertaining solution to the age old problem of children wearing out their clothing before they outgrow it. The creation of GrabAScab Inc. was the result of having developed such a great solution that I wanted to share it.

My inspiration for creating Scabs came from my two young boys who continually rip open the knees of their pants. One day last fall, I purchased both boys new jeans for starting back to school. After one day of wear, and obviously a great time at recess, they both came home from school with gaping holes in the knees of their new pants. All I could think about was the money that I had ‘wasted’ on the boy’s pants. That day, I decided that I would create a way to make their pants last. I knew that I needed to make something fun that they would want to wear. That is how the idea for Scabs was born.

Scabs were created through experimentation. It took me months to create a Scab that would survive twenty cycles of the washing machine and that would hold up to my boy's tests. ‘Testing’ involved having the boys put on their hockey knee pads under their jeans and with the patches on, slide up and down the driveway on their knees. My boys loved doing the testing! 

Creating Scabbee and the fun designs on the Scabs was much easier. After all, I live with my focus group! Although the function of Scabs was inspired by my boys, there was no way my daughter would be left out! All three of my children were instrumental in the creation of the Scab designs. My daughter loves Scabs so much that she has stuck up to 4 Scabs on one pair of her jeans. Her pants are a size 4-there is more Scab than denim! While my children think that I am Scabbee, in truth the characters of the monsters, their likes and dislikes, are modeled after each of my children and my niece.

GrabAScab Inc. is the result of a patient husband, energetic children and supportive family and friends. Now when my children rip their clothes, we just ‘Grab A Scab.’

The Review:

Ok so let me start off by saying Andrea was just completely awesome to work with. I really like the fact that this product was created by a Mom who has the same problems as other Mom's and that she created something practical and useful. And this is very useful around my house.

We were sent two scabs to try out. So far we have only used one of them but that is ok I think the next one will be used fairly soon lol.

We used Scabbie on my sons back pocket of his jeans. Now don't ask me how he got a hole in the back pocket ( I think he put it there just so I would put the scab there lol), but he did.

As you can see he is all smiles showing of his Scabbie to every one lol. Anyway, I followed the instructions and put the scab on and didn't wash his pants for 24 hours. Now of course I had to wash them after that to make sure that it would hold after going through the wash and as you can see it sure did. We put it through the washer and the dryer and it is still in great shape and holding on tight.

This is a big thumbs up around my house because this is going to be so much cheaper than going and buying new pants every time they put a hole in them!

We got the the Original Smiley Cookies to try out

These cookies are so dang cute!!! Who could resist wanting to try one of these.

I was really impressed with the way they were packaged. They were in a clear plastic clam shell package and then had plastic wrap around that to help insure freshness. There was also some tips in there on trying the cookies warmed and that was a GREAT tip!!

The whole family enjoyed these cookies. The familiar taste of a sugar cookie with the sweet taste of icing. What a great combination. A good thing to is the icing is not too sweet which is a big plus! This was a truly a great treat for the whole family.

2010 Holiday Gift Guide Tour
