Well I did it!

I nuked a sizable section of this website. I had some bad vibes about my main website templates and had several friends ask me why I hadn’t changed it in a while so it’s now officially gone.

I made an attempt to match the look and feel of the blog design and it looks OK for now!

Gone With The Wind

Most of the old resell right products and freebies have GONE for good. This is mainly due to the fact that they have caused to be more problematic than good.
From fraudulent orders – people asking for an alternative download for product files then reversing the payment.

Sheesh!

Funny thing was that very same customer bought a back-end product worth treble the price of the item for sale. So I gained from a sizable commissions.

Doh!

That FOOL gets my “Favorite Scammy Refund Customer of all time Award!”

For goodness sakes all they had to do was request a refund but no, they had to STOOP SO LOW.

From hereon I will be focusing on producing content, building upon existing websites and maybe developing my own products.

New Stuff

I finally found a simple plugin to automatically limit each post so you can preview articles. I’m not too much of technical geek but for some reason the commonly referred plugin Limit Posts didn’t work with my current template and involved editing php code. However, with Jens Törnell’s handy plugin all you have to do is:

1. Download and unzip the WP Limit Posts Automatically plugin

2. Upload the plugin directory into your WordPress Plugins folder on your server via FTP

3 Log into your WordPress admin and “Activate” the plugin

4. Then go to “Settings” and “Limit Posts Options” and enter your preferences and your done.

My Broken Link Checker plugin works like a charm and helps me to quickly locate dead affiliate products and broken links so I can at least redirect to an LIVE offer or update the post altogether.

The officially closure for our current in-house affiliate program is, 28th Feb 2009. To honor all hard working affiliates all commissions earned on client sales will be paid up, regardless of if you’ve made only one sale. Plus anyone using pay per click advertising will be paid any all sales up to a month after closure as I know that Google AdWords may take several weeks before ads are totally removed from their ad network. That’s right!

Very few advertisers are aware of this until they check their credit card statements to find Adwords billing them log after they’ve stopped a campaign.

I’m uncertain of what changes will be made to the membership site but I can tell you that I want to add content on a monthly basis, maybe articles or an outsourcing service. If I decide to include an affiliate program I will probably use a third party management service like ClickBank or PayDotCom. This new structure will certainly have new video tutorials and will have monthly recurring billing.

So the affiliate program sign up page has been officially nuked and is currently redirected to my affiliate tips page, now located on the blog.

Networking

So many great friends I have met and forged lasting with relationships with through various businesses I have been involved with and believe or not via social networks like YouTube and good old Facebook!

It has been an eye opener as previously I would have found the idea of networking through MySpace and other sites as a waste of time. However, I have made some “REAL” lasting friendships and found some valuable outsourcing companies which I plan to use for marketing.

Besides there is only so much on person can do by themselves and realistically if you don’t want to be chained to your computer like a convict then outsourcing regular tasks is the way forward.

There are always other ways to outsource without having to search for a freelancer or use a good source for Private Label Rights Articles.

Mindset Training

With all of the doom and gloom in the news and the economy I really feel too many people are falling victim to negative thinking in their daily lives and adversely affecting their judgment when it comes to how to make extra money online.

Be vary wary of promises of riches or get-rich-quick schemes.

It doesn’t matter what you buy online unless you take “action” and put what you have learned into practice you will not make money online. In short “do something”.

Never assume that buying a product service or home business program that the cash will suddenly “fly out of your keyboard”. Treat what you do online as you would a business just like traveling to a brick and mortar business. Treat it like a hobby and you will receive poor results out some work into training and avoid the common problem of information overload.

For instance stick with one or maybe expert s in the field you are trying to gain more knowledge in and be consistent.
If you leap frog from one product to the other then no wonder you are so confused and burnt out.

Really take some time out and reflect on what you are doing and remember this key point.

If what you’re doing now is not working for you then it’s high time you stop and change your action plan to begin using in results.

Not sure about a topic or want to find out more about a then “Google It” – type in your words into a search and click “Go”
Take charge and find things out for yourself and don’t rely on anyone to answer ever little trivial question you have.

Go to YouTube and “watch” step by step tutorials of presentations to help you learn faster and more efficiently than just reading through a manual.

Videos are hot so don’t forget this. Would you rather read a manual time and time again still confused or would you rather help reinforce what you have learned.

Future Developments!

A brand new template for the main website I “hate” the current design, with the exception of the blog themes so it’s got to go!

Some web pages I feel are obsolete as I will be reconsidering the content of this website like the free reports which are no longer available. That has got to go too!

Due to reader feedback I will be setting up some free email courses to help you through Aweber so stay tuned for that. If you’re already a subscriber to the Miriadz Cyber Times newsletter then you’ll receive one automatically as I include a mini course due in January.

The membership site will be getting a complete new overhaul. New videos and maybe restructure the affiliate program. This will be the biggest change and I have an obligation to ensure current affiliates benefit. I’ll be consulting with my business partner to increase conversion rates so that it will be a maintain situation for all!

So some elements will be gone forever, and some new development should enhance usability of this website.

Thanks for being patient as I have been sorted through my PC files on my old XP computer. I now have a new Dell Desktop using windows Vista and I love it to death so far. With the super fast Duel Core processor I no longer have to waste time waiting for web pages to load and can get tasks done faster than ever.

I am also using two back up hard drives and a handy online PC back up service, Carbonite so I can securely back up my key files daily with ease.

Unfortunately you may on occasion receive blatant ads or some messages that you do not agree with. If this happens too often from the same person I would suggest blocking them or simply removing them from your contacts. I have had to do this on Facebook. It’s the “Wall” that can be more of a nuisance than an asset. Some of my friends are considering removing their Wall altogether.

Be careful in your decision to do this as the “Wall” is one way in which your friends show their appreciation and let you know about themselves. I’m not sure if this actually deletes your wall or hides it from public view so be careful and do your research by contacting Facebook direct.

Anyone go here now and join some of my networks. I highly recommend using other Social networks to announce to your friends and visitors so they too can join. I have found MySpace to be an excellent place to do this especially for FREE Social networks.

I apologize for the very short notice for Russell’s LIVE UStreme TV shows. They were fun to view as Russell did a marathon hour long talk with us all. I can’t believe how fast he talks and even he couldn’t control his excitement whilst on the show. Drinking lots of water and racing on with plenty of solid content to deliver.

I thought he was going to present us all with $100+ product but instead he released Affiliate Evolution package for just $10. A true bargain that many people have scooped up to ensure they get their package before any price hikes. Smart thinking!

If you’re not a shy person and want a free way to connect with your subscribers or have people you are training then UStreme TV is an excellent medium to use. Or use Teleseminars and Webinars, many of which you can use for FREE or on special trial.

MySpace Friend Adder

This handy tool help to automate your friend adding and search for people who have a common interest. Now I do not advocate sending out hundreds of requests. I have used the free version to add people over time but not hundreds of requests daily. Tactics like that could easily get your account shut down. What a waste of time that would be. So use Friend Adder as a time saving tool.

$10,000 in 37 Days on Facebook Update

Following on from my post on Brian Campbell. I was pleasantly surprised, not only with the outcome of his challenge being met within the first 2 weeks, but that his teachings were sound and able to be duplicated.

Many people had their tail between their legs and went out frantically in search of building their friends to at least 500 and then created groups which I feel they had no idea what they were going to do with them. This is probably what promptly a lot of people to “deface my Wall” and probably many others with some hoards of stuff I just didn’t like.

I was hoping he wouldn’t be charging each of his 500 friends $20 a head to make the $10,000 or something as lame as that. Thankfully Brian presented people with a bona fide way to monetize Facebook and social networks in general. All the information was FREE and can be used in any field or topic of interest to you and a wider audience.

If you were brave enough to set up your own “Group” I would love to hear from you.

If I planned to do something it would be a Computer Help Group for people who want to get past the basics of Internet marketing so that they can set up their own website or take part in a business opportunity without having to waste time learning how to set up a capture page, autoresponders etc. I have been doing this with some contacts on skype and would love to follow through with this.

Maybe a combination of video tutorials, audios, webinars and private 1:1 sessions would certainly help people to develop the skills they need to begin marketing.

I hope everyone is well and getting their businesses off into gear. It’s been a while since my last newsletter but I have been taking care of business. I have been catching up with mail and answering your questions to the best of my abilities.

After performing a search for ebooks in general on eBay it looks as if it is official that no ebooks are sold on the main listings. Sellers have taken their ebooks and burned them onto CD, just as I suggested on my Practical Marketing Tips. The starting prices range from a few cents to $1.00 plus shipping fees need to be charged. I have seen a rise in the number of classified ads users selling ebooks and digital products and noted that they use the term “pick up only”. Maybe the word download has become taboo.

You may be aware that eBay have set up their own new in-house affiliate program called the eBay Partner Program. I’ve signed up and updated all of my affiliate links. I do miss the ready made links for the Ebay registration. You now have to manually create links that do not point to the default home page. However they have made the process of setting up campaign ID’s easy to do so affiliate can track ads on different site’s and web pages with the added option to ‘Create Campaigns in Bulk’.

For some strange reason I can’t promote eBay UK, even though I live in London. I have the following message:
“We are sorry but we cannot admit you at this time.”

Ah well. Ebay US and other countries welcomed me so I’m happy with that!

Anyway commissions are paid via PayPal and Direct Deposit to your bank account.

I was surprised to find that Joel Comm has released version 4 of his best selling book AdSense Secrets for just $9.95. If you’ve been struggling with Adsense or want to increase your residual profits using contextual ads on your website and blogs you should seriously consider getting a copy. AdSense Secrets version 4 is 232 pages of pure content and real profit tips to help boost YOUR passive AdSense income. Also there is a subscription to Joel’s newsletter he has recently changed the sales letter to offer customers the CHOICE to buy the ebook alone or include a free trial subscription to his magazine. Prior to this change you had no choice but to make a formal request to cancel the pending subscription after your order. Thanks to feedback from buyers that has been resolved.

Networking Amongst Like-Minded Internet Marketer’s!

Just a few short weeks ago I set up my very first MySpace page. Since doing so I have had emails from John Reese who has also been experimenting with social networking sites. He has a massive following in his Facebook contacts list. The maximum number of friends you can have for any one account on Facebook is a generous 5,000. The last time I checked John Reese had hit the 5,001 mark so I guess he’s officially one of the most popular Facebook contacts around. LOL

Maybe that is not accurate becuase after networking finding British comedian and actor, Hugh Laurie he has a grand total of 10,527 fans on Facebook so John you can keep going dude!

Are you hanging out at social networking sites and if so are you networking to boost your business or just there for fun?

From what I have seen Facebook, Twitter and MySpace and YouTube are common elements on most Internet marketer’s websites and blogs. I’ll be referencing some more of my own once I have made some more tweaks here and there.

9 Nifty Ways To Prolong Your Visitor’s Stay

1. Offer a free ebook that’s published right on your website. They would stay at your site to read it.

2. Give your visitors a different free bonus for each link they click through to your website. Example: “If you click on this link you’ll get a FREE course!”

3. Offer a search option on your website. People will stay longer because it gives them the option of searching through your web site using keywords.

4. Provide a chat room on your website. They will want to chat with other people that are interested in your site’s subject.

5. Write your content so it attracts their five senses. Use plenty of adjectives. They will stay focused on your website and block out other distractions.

6. Add a “FAQ – Frequently Ask Questions” part on your website. People won’t email you a question and leave. They will stay to find out the answer.

7. Offer easy navigation. People will leave quicker if they have a hard time finding what they’re looking for. Don’t get them lost or they will leave.

8. Give them plenty of things to do at your website. Allow them to submit classified ads, play interactive games, add their link, sign your guest book, etc.

9. Offer free online tools they can use right at your website. It could be a search engine submitter, ad or sales letter templates, ebook compiler, etc.

As you may have seen I’ve removed the red logo from the header and replaced it with my own black and white image created with Photo Sketch Pro. I know it’s only half of my face but that was an accident. I made the mistake of overwriting the original image with the full face. However for some reason when I attempted to create another image the quality of the image is terrible which is really odd. I’ll work on it another time to see if I can get back the full face image with better quality finish!

It’s been a hectic month so far as I’ve been testing out new ways to market using free classified ads figuring out whether to get actively involved using Facebook and Twitter. They can be an assett to your business however the last thing I want to do is get to engrossed and lose valuable time. Do you use these two sites and if so do they bring you traffic to your sites?

Is DealDotCom A Scam?

This promotion brought a world of new insights into online promotion. The day went smoothly and apparently every new member was satisfied. However if I could change one thing I would not direct customers to my sign up page.

Further to this after customers completed the checkout process they are redirected to your special thank you page exclusive to DealDotCom promotions. I would use an instructional page outlining the step by steps to access the member’s area. For example:

1. Click on this link to create a unique username and password
2. Then click on continue to the log-in page
3. You’re in…take a look around

Not much to take in but a few people were at first confused, although they did manage to get inside long before I replied to them by email. It’s just those little things that can help to add to a smooth transition from payment to access their product or service.

It’s easy to take for granted that some people are unfamiliar with memberships site scripts. One person asked for a ‘download link‘ as opposed to ‘where to I log in‘. Just think about these people and give them as much information as possible.

One thing is for sure buyers at DealDotCom are very eager to get hold of their deals. Certainly a good experience. Plus the feedback I got from customers had a tremendous impact on my future plans for the site.

One word of caution, if your going to be featured make sure you keep your prices as they were before your product is to be showcased A few sellers have dropped their prices causing mass confusion and DISTRUST. Lack of consideration will only result bad reputation which wll be online for as long as the site is online.
