When I started this wordy, ranty thing awhile back I had a head full of fuck and a wallet full of nothing. I thought that this might be a good way to fix one or both of those problems. I thought that the things I said on here were more or less common sense and was more or less saying things for the sake of saying them out loud (so to speak). As I've observed and heard lately, not that I didn't already know this to some extent, is that common sense died years ago. We are a society that believes whatever we see on TV no matter how absurd the claim. I'm amazed at how fast we forget things that happened in the last few years in favor of the history that's being re-written to keep us in check. Take our current president for instance. My, how quickly we blame him for EVERYTHING his predecessor fucked up. Amazing how we'll turn a blind eye to his opposing party in congress blocking EVERYTHING he's tried to do to fix the problems that we're trying to blame him for. This is all a fucking game to these people. News flash: They don't give any number of fucks about you. The better part of people that run for the presidency don't do it for you or for the good of the country, or to make a difference. They do it purely for selfish reasons. The problem here is that I think we finally voted for the right guy...that guy we've all said we wished would come along and take care of all of this stupidity we deal with in our government. We responded by destroying him publicly to the point that he'll never get to show us what he could have done. As for the percentage of you that say what you say about him because of his race, (and you fucking KNOW who you are) grow the fuck up. Its 2012 and we live in a country where all races have equal rights. He's an American citizen and deserves the right to be where he is just the same as your backwards asses. I don't know how often you'll be hearing from me, but know this: I'm back, I'm unmedicated, I'm pissed, and you fuckers haven't heard the last of me. I am often asked: "What on earth does anyone stand to gain from keeping the American people from being able to live happy and healthy lives? Wouldn't that cost votes for the people in charge?" Also: "Why would congress cock block the president like that, don't they all want what's best for us?"

Some of you are probably laughing pretty hard at those questions. But, a lot of people do not truly understand how this all works. Unfortunately, what you learn in school about how government works is more an explanation of how its supposed to work rather than how it actually does.

So, I don't care if this is tl;dr...read it and learn something.

We'll start with the last question first, as its the easiest to answer.
They talk so much shit on him and block his plans so often because he actually does have American interests at heart.

OK, I heard that "wtf" from here...so I'll explain by answering the other questions.

America is not actually run by our government officials...its run by the corporations that pay them the most. These largely include: Banks, Oil Companies, Insurance Firms, and the like. People like you and me don't mean a lot in the long run as far as political popularity, The ones with the "best" corporate interests in mind will get into office save for an occasional fluke. (IE: Obama defeating McCain because of a choice in running mate that I would chalk up to elderly dementia, a story for another time perhaps)
If you sit back and look at the changes Obama has been trying to make to help the country get back on its feet, most of them help the American People at cost to several of those big corporations I mentioned previously. These people will do whatever they have to to hold on to their money and power...so those congressmen that they paid so much to see get into office to look out for their interests jump to action. They spread bullshit about the plans (Like that Death Council nonsense over Obamacare), they block or delay the bills, they insist on things being added to the bills that gimp their ability to to what they're intended for, etc. Anything to ensure that they stay in office and that the money keeps flowing.

Now, yes, these bills cost big corporations a lot of money. But, with that being said, these are people that make more in a day than you probably make in a year...and I don't care how posh your job is. And that money comes from ripping people off which is what Obama is trying to end. Its gone on for too damned long and something needs to be done about it.

So...step back, look at the big picture. Its not actually as hard to see as you may think. I know average American intelligence has gone way down in recent times and a lot of us have become gullible enough to believe what we're told. But don't be a sheep...think for your damned selves and you'll be a better person for it.

Apologies for my extended absence, I had to deal with a long period of unemployment.

Which actually brings me to today's topic:

Did you know that this year, American companies created less than one million jobs in The United States. Interestingly enough, they creates over 1.5 million jobs in other countries. If you wanna know why most of us can't find work, now you know. I'm not one to generally adopt the "They're takin' our jobs" mentality...but dammit, how are us people on the bottom of the ladder supposed to survive.

A few years back, when 9/11 occurred, it was used as a catalyst to put several laws into play that never would have stood a chance at passing in the first place. Laws that allow law enforcement to arrest, search, wiretap, and detain you (among other fun things) without a proper warrant. This was called The Patriot Act and it was only meant to last for a year or two, and was supposedly instated to help flush out potential terrorists. The law is still in effect today, approx 9 years after it was passed. I'm not going to start the inside job argument here, you can believe what you will as far as that goes, but I will say that this was a very large and complex bill and I highly doubt that somebody didn't have this puppy sitting in their filing cabinet somewhere waiting for the right opportunity to get it passed way before the incident that acted as its catalyst.

I bring this up because we're now looking at an interesting situation right here on the internet. The cablegate document leak has the media and world governments abuzz and obviously steps are going to be taken to prevent such incidents in the future. I find it rather odd that this incident fell so close to the congressional debates over bills like COICA which allows drastic censorship of the internet at the whim of the US government.

Now, I see a lot of drama regarding Julian Assange, but I've seen very little in the way of trying to find his source, which makes me wonder. Given that, in all honesty, the documents in question aren't really all that damaging: Would it be so much of a stretch to believe that these were intentionally leaked to cause all this buzz. I think congress will have a far easier time getting an internet censorship bill through now, especially with the massive violent backlash many hacker organizations are bringing in retaliation for Assange's arrest. Many people have feared a "cyber-9/11", but maybe it won't even be anything that drastic that draws the curtain on net-neutrality.

Also, I'm sure getting rid of a particularly annoying fly like Wikileaks would be a wonderful added bonus to the people who want secrets kept.

So, for those of you in the tl;dr crowd, brace yourselves...I have a feeling that the proverbial shitstorm is gathering strength, or maybe (hopefully) I'm just over thinking things.

There's a mess with Korea (which could easily turn into a mess with China if not dealt with very carefully), the republican party refusing to let any bills pass unless a tax break for the wealthy is voted on, and this Wikileaks fiasco that proves that Interpol can invent charges to bring you in when they feel you've crossed a line that hasn't been defined (which is something I'm quite surprised that more people aren't outraged over).

Grab a helmet and strap in boys and girls, I think we're in for quite a ride.

Ever wonder why nothing ever gets accomplished in our government?

Right now the repubs and the dems are so busy fighting with each other like little kids just because their on opposing teams rather than true disagreement with the issues at hand and don't even get me started on the Tea Party bullshit (that's another article altogether).

The people we vote for and support, the people we believe in every election year, the people who's paychecks we might as well be signing ourselves aren't doing their jobs at all and instead are bickering amongst each other.

If this were you or me, we'd be fired without ceremony.

I suppose the moral of this is that you should stand for what you believe in morally and work towards the greater good , but there really isn't much left in the way of morals in our capitol. Personal interests, power, and the almighty dollar (which ironically, isn't all that mighty these days) are the only things driving these assholes.

A few weeks back I mentioned the COICA bill that I referred to as being worse than ACTA. Well, they're getting ready to start voting on it. This is the start of censorship on a huge scale and if you think they'll stop at copyright infringes, I envy your naivety.

A Petition is here, though I would also recommend contacting your congressmen directly and letting them know that you won't stand for something like this. This is supposed to be a free country...let's try and get back to that.

Does it bother anyone else that with all the crap going on in the world right now, most of the populace of the US cannot get over the debate over whether our president is a Muslim (which he's not) and was born in the US (which he was). To be completely honest, he doesn't have all that much power because of the Repubs (and even some of his own party)working against him and with the mess left by the jackass that preceded him none of our problems are going to get fixed overnight or easily. tl;dr There are way more important things in your life to worry about than the president's lineage/religion. Neither of these should matter in a cultural melting pot founded on freedom of religious choice, anyway.

If their tired and confused, they can't put up much of a fight and are more likely to submit and just do what their told.

How many of you are confident and able to work at a job you would genuinely enjoy and are being held back by your lack of a piece of paper that says that you're confident and able.
College degrees are the only way anyone can get a decent career these days and even taking the time and putting forth the immense expense it takes to acquire one in no way guarantees you'll ever put it to use.
If you're already rich or come from a rich family that can front the bill, this is no big deal. To normal folks like you and me though, we pay for it for a loooong time to follow, and that's whether we actually put it to use or not (The days, not seems to be the more common of the two).

When was the last time you paid $80,000+ for something that you didn't know if you would ever even be able to use?
