This Rose Facial Oil has always been one of the most popular skin care products in Neal’s Yard Remedies skin care family. It contains a variety of natural ingredients, such as grape seed oil, hazelnut oil, evening primrose oil, rose flower oil, patchouli oil, geranium oil etc, and is ideal for dry, mature, and sensitive skin. At the time I bought it, everyone around me was trying and talking about it.

I used five drops of the oil every night for a five minutes facial massage. I would recommend that you do your facial massage right after shower or bath as your pores are open and can better absorb the oil. Alternatively, you can also place a warm towel over your face to open up your pores. The smell of the oil was delicious and relaxing. And after about five minutes, when the oil fully absorbed, my skin felt silky soft. The skin was a little bit greasy after the massage, so I used a oil control blotting paper to blot away the excess oil. If you don’t have skin care blotting paper, a tissue should work too. DON’T Be Lazy Here! DO get rid of the excess oil as it can clog your pores and cause acne!!! After massaging and blotting, I applied my night cream to seal it in.

I used Neal’s Yard Remedies Rose Facial Oil for about six months. I must say it really gives you a radiant and healthy skin tone and can slightly plump up the fine lines. However, the problem for me was the size. Natural skincare products usually don’t last long. And for Neal’s Yard Remedies Rose Facial Oil, the label says it must be used with 6 months. But I found it really hard to use up this 50ml bottle within just six months. At the end of the day, it just made me feel guilty about the waste. Oh, another thing you need to know. This product doesn’t come with a dropper cap. You need to buy one separately.

There was a period of time I was totally obsessed with L’Occitane products and I still like this brand. I love the packaging, the scent, and the natural feeling. My favorite ranges are Immorttelle and Olive. I’ve tried almost every single product within these two ranges. Here I wanna talk about the Immorttelle Brightening Renewing Serum.

This serum, comes with a delicate packaging, was in the most expensive range of L’Occitane. It is rich in natural extracts that helps brighten the complexion. I bought this serum because I was stressed about many things at that time and my skin was dull due to lack of sleep.

L’Occitane introduced two ways of using this serum. You can either use it as a daily skincare product, apply morning and evening, or use it as a intensive treatment, apply once or twice a week after the exfoliator. It just depends on your skin condition and my skin condition was really bad. So I used it daily.

I applied this serum between toning and moisturising. The texture is more gel like. The bottle comes with a dropper cap which allows for precise application. Three to five drops are enough to cover face and neck. The serum absorbed immediately and left my skin felt smooth and hydrated. By the time I finished the first bottle my dull looking skin was visibly brighter and more even. I was very impressed and the excitement somehow took away the stress which was a bonus for me. I then bought another bottle for maintenance. The only thing imperfect about this product is that it doesn’t work for acne blemishes although it can make my skin brighter which is really strange.

Unfortunately this product seems to have been discontinued. It is not available on the L’Occitane official website. However, there’s a similar product called Immortelle Brightening Essence which seems to be an enhanced version. I’ll definitely try it.

If you google the benefits of Grapeseed Extract you’ll see a long list. However, I just want to tell you about its unbelievable effect on skin brightening.

As I said, I started to take the 100mg capsule from two years ago. Just after a few months, I found my face became brighter. I believe it was Grapeseed Extract as I was not using any brightening skin care products at that time. I had a brown spot on my left cheek for a couple of years. I tried many external products trying to get rid of it but all failed. However, after taking grapeseed extract for about a year, it just went away. It was a huge surprise for me! This is a product I will buy again again and again.

However, as you can see from my experience, dietary supplement is not magic. It can’t make a huge difference over night or in a couple of day. If you want to try it, try at least three months.
