Do you guys remember @IamDiddy Diddy’s Bad Boy artist, Loon??? Well, as any other artist on Bad Boy, Loon’s tenure with the label was short lived. After parting ways with Bad Boy, Loon decided to leap into the Islamic Faith and he changed his name to Amir Junaid Muhadith. I thought this was a joke, but apparently, its not! Check out the video of the former hip hop artist as he talks to Arab journalist Al Jazeera. WOW!

We just got word that a very pregnant Jennifer Hudson has been chosen to perform a solo at Michael Jackson’s memorial service that will be held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles tomorrow. Mariah Carey is supposedly in the line up too. CNN reported that the event will be produced by Ken Ehrlich, who produced the Grammy Awards. The director of the Jackson memorial will be Kenny Ortega, who was set to co-direct the singer’s O2 shows in London later this month.

Other stars who are rumored to attending the memorial service for Michael Jackson include Diana Ross, Elizabeth Taylor and Paul McCartney. Paul McCartney is even rumored to be one of the other stars performing at Jackson’s memorial service.

Celebs from Chris Brown, Lil Kim, to Ron Artest and Vanessa Simmons were there. The party was hosted by Ashton Kutcher, who clearly had a blast from the looks of the pictures. Guess who is bizzack! AGAIN? During a recent interview with New York’s Power 105.1 radio station, former Bad Boy artist Mase not only aired a remix to Drake’s “Best I Ever Had,” his first release in five years, but he also said Michael Jackson’s death is what inspired his return to music after an extended hiatus. “Mike passed away and it just lit the fire in me — it made me go in the studio and do something. I’m excited,” the Harlem-born rapper said. “I asked my nephew who is the hottest thing out there and he said “Drake!’ When I listened to his music I said, ‘I’m going to jump on this joint.’”

Mase confuses me, he doesn’t know where he wants to be. In church or on MTV! Do we miss Mase? Let us know what you think!

Black Entertainment Television (BET) is reportedly bending over backwards trying to land CW’s cancelled series “The Game.” The network says the entire cast is on board for a fourth season but licensing issues stand in the way. “BET is doing everything it can to acquire the rights to Mara Brock Akil’s The Game,” a source at the cable network tells TVGuide.com.

“The licensing issues are very complicated,” says our source. Earlier this year, BET acquired the rights to run repeats of the Girlfriends spin-off.

Sources tell us that the idea of BET stepping forward and saving The Game actually came from the show’s cast. If picked up by BET, however, The Game would stick to its half-hour comedy roots.

A whopping 1.6 million MJ fans applied to attend tomorrow’s (Tuesday 7 July) memorial service to the King of Pop. However, only 8,750 applicants were successful at getting tickets. Each of the 8,750 randomly selected applicants will receive two tickets to the ceremony at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

The event spokesperson, Michael Roth, says that the online winners of the tickets will receive wristbands when a valid ID is present. However, Roth says that people who have won their tickets will DEFINITELY try to sell them, which is evident on EBAY already. “Theoretically, the second wristband can be sold,” he said. SAD!

LA officials are working very hard to ensure this event will be safe for the huge crowds that are expected to fill the venue. The memorial service will be broadcast live on five television networks.

Shannon Price, the wife of actor Gary Coleman, was jailed after police were called to their Utah County home after she allegedly locked Coleman out during an argument and was yelling obscenities out the window. Price had thrown items around the home and upended furniture. Records show the 23-year-old Price was booked for investigation of domestic violence, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. There is no indication that the 41-
year-old Coleman, best known for his stint on “Diff’rent Strokes,” was injured.

I could have sworn I saw these two on Divorce Court…did they decide to stay together? Ummm…its time for them to call it quits! LOL!

Kanye West’s on and off girlfriend, Amber Rose, came out to The Villa in L.A. last week to show off her new “electric blue” hair color. She wore matching leggings and showed off her new look for the cameras! What do you think? HOT OR NOT?

Rihanna and Mystery Man (Jay Brown)…is this her new beau?

According to AP, former NFL quarterback Steve McNair and a woman (who is allegedly his mistress) were found shot to death Saturday inside a residence in Nashville, police said.  Shot twice in the head and two more times in the chest, former NFL quarterback Steve McNair was the victim of a homicide, police declared Sunday. But authorities wouldn’t say it was a murder-suicide — even with his 20-year-old girlfriend, Saleh Kazemi, dead at his feet from a single bullet. Most people however think that its just that, a murder-suicide or passion crime.

McNair, who was married to Mechelle McNair (pictured above) with four sons, had been dating Saleh Kazemi for several months witnesses say. She was his mistress. The quarterback’s agent, Bus Cook, said he had never heard Kazemi’s name until news of the shooting broke Saturday. What McNair’s wife knew wasn’t clear Sunday. Cook said Mechelle McNair was “in and out of it.” He said she had no comment after the police called his death a homicide.

McNair and Kazemi were together Thursday night when she was pulled over driving that Escalade. She was arrested on a DUI charges, and he was allowed to leave in a taxi even though he was charged with drunken driving in 2007 when his brother-in-law was stopped for DUI while driving McNair’s pickup truck.

Someone other than me thought that Lil Wayne’s performance on 2009 BET Awards was a bit disrespectful to the theme of the night and the fact that he had lil girls(including his daughter) on stage as they performed “Every Girl” was irresponsible as an artist. Award-winning filmmaker Byron Hurt has become the latest figure to address BET for their airing of Lil Wayne and Drake’s “Every Girl” performance at the awards ceremony. Hurt wrote an open letter to BET President Debra Lee which focused on his thoughts on Weezy’s set and his reaction to the MJ tribute…Check it out here:

Dear Debra Lee,

Sunday night’s BET Awards show was a disgrace. It’s sad and unfortunate that your network, owned by Viacom, continues to crank out mediocrity and perpetuate negative stereotypes of black men, women, and children. Although you likely received high ratings for the awards show, there is no honor in reinforcing the status quo’s opinion of black people. Your tribute to Michael Jackson and the overall show had its great moments, however, BET failed to deliver a solid, quality show. Rather than “raising the bar” and presenting African-Americans as a creative, proud, dignified people, BET lowered the bar for the entire world to see. The BET Awards drew a huge audience to watch a tribute to Michael Jackson, but left millions of viewers feeling disappointed, embarrassed, and reduced to classic stereotypes.

During the most blatantly sexist performances of the night, the executives at BET failed to act and display intelligence, courage, and leadership. Show executives watched, approved, and applauded as artists Lil’ Wayne, Drake, and Cash Money brought young, under-aged girls onto the stage to dance and serve as window dressing while they performed “Every Girl,” a song that reduces girls and women to sex objects. In a culture where one out of four girls and women are either raped or sexually assaulted – and where manipulative men routinely traffic vulnerable women into the sex industry – it is not okay that BET allowed this to happen. BET owes its entire audience – particularly girls and women around the world – an apology for its failure to intervene. BET should also take immediate steps to ensure that this kind of sexist performance does not happen again. Sunday night’s show epitomizes why so many black people worldwide are fed up with BET and feel strongly that your network inaccurately represents black men and women.

Please take my letter and criticism as one that represents millions.

Check out the pictures from the 2009 Taste of Chicago Festival featuring Ne-yo and Keri Hilson. The festival is all week and ends this weekend. I must go next year, I’ve been missing this for years and I heard it off the chain!

This is the most I have heard from Quincy Jones in the media… In a very controversial interview with Details Magazine, the music mogul says MJ, whom he refers to as his “lil brother”, dealt with an obsession about race and his poor self image. Check out what he had to say about the late MJ:

Q: You were there to witness the strange evolution in Michael’s appearance. Did you ever step in and saying anything about it?
A: Oh, we talked about it all the time. But he’d come up with, “Man, I promise you I have this disease,” and so forth, and “I have a blister on my lungs,” and all that kind of b.s. It’s hard, because Michael’s a Virgo, man—he’s very set in his ways. You can’t talk him out of it. Chemical peels and all that stuff.

Q: But it must’ve been so disturbing to see Michael’s face turn into what it turned into.
A: It’s ridiculous, man! Chemical peels and all of it. And I don’t understand it. But he obviously didn’t want to be black.

Q: Is that what it was?
A: Well, what do you think? You see his kids?

Q: Did you ever discuss it? Did you ever ask, “Michael, don’t you want to be a black man?”
A: No, no, no, please. That’s not the way you do it.

Q: But he was beautiful before?
A: Man, he was the most gorgeous guy.

Q: But he seemed to have some deep-seated issue with how he looked?
A: Well, that comes about a certain way. I’m not sure how it happens. I’m just a musician and a record producer. I’m not a psychiatrist. I don’t understand all that stuff. We all got problems. But there’s a great book out called Too Soon Old, Too Late Smart. Did you see that? That book says the statute of limitations has expired on all childhood traumas. Get your stuff together and get on with your life, man. Stop whinin’ about what’s wrong, because everybody’s had a rough time, in one way or another.

Q: I’ve heard you say that you wanted Michael to sing “She’s Out of My Life,” the great pop ballad from Off the Wall, in part because you felt like he had to deal with reality.
A: I just wanted to hear him deal with a romantic relationship with a human being rather than a rat. I’m saying that facetiously, but it’s true. I saw him at the Oscars very emotional about “Ben.” I wanted to hear him get in touch with a real human relationship. “She’s Out of My Life” was written by Tommy Bahler from a very bad ending to a marriage. So it was very real. I was saving it for Sinatra. But I gave it to Michael. And Michael cried during every take, and I left the tears in.
