Japan Declares Korina Sanchez Persona Non Grata

TOKYO, Japan — Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe declared earlier Monday, Filipino broadcast journalist Korina Sanchez, ペルソナノングラータ or persona non grata, for “wishing ill will against others.”

Abe, speaking in public after his meeting with officials of Japan Meteorological Agency regarding typhoon Hagupit (Ruby), said that for a public figure such as Sanchez, to say such things towards Japan; is an act “definitely unbecoming of an Interior Ministry’s wife”.

“I am very saddened to hear reports of schadenfreude coming from a TV anchor, who just last year, was was put in her place by Mr. Anderson Cooper of CNN,” said Abe. “That is why without a second thought, I am declaring wholeheartedly Ms. Korina Sanchez of the Philippines, as an unwelcome person anywhere in Japan.”

On the Wednesday, December 3, newscast of ABS-CBN’s TV Patrol, the network’s chief correspondent and veteran anchor said she hoped Typhoon Ruby (international name Hagupit) would hit Japan instead of the Philippines, and that Filipinos could still pray the typhoon away.

De Castro then remarks, “Sana ay hati na lang tayo.” (I wish we could split [the typhoon’s impact.])

“Kalahati sa Pilipinas, kalahati sa Japan (Half to the Philippines, half to Japan),” De Castro said, to which Sanchez responded, “Puwede bang sa kanila na lang lahat?” (Can’t they just get all of it?)

De Castro said hopefully not, but Sanchez pressed on, saying, “Sa kanila na lang lahat. Parang mas kaya nila.” (Let them have it all. It seems they can handle it better).

Abe added, “As for former Vice President Noli De Castro, who only wished half of Hagupit on others, I am hereby declaring him, albeit half-heartedly, persona non grata as well.”

Netizens were up in arms upon hearing the comments made by Sanchez, majority of which posted and shared their sentiments on various social media sites.

ABG Neilsen and Kantor Media TNX also reported a huge spike in ratings for the newscast’s segment.

“I think these numbers speak for themselves and that it probably signifies viewers’ disdain for the quality of news reportage on our mainstream media,” said ABG Neilsen Spokesman Philo Farnsworth. “The ‘masa‘ viewers seems to be wising up.”

But Kantor Media TNX spokesman Charles Francis Jenkins disagrees with Farnsworth.

“If nothing else, these ‘masa‘ viewers agree and feel the same way as Ms. Sanchez,” said Jenkins. “And what all these numbers signify are just the viewers’ eagerness to watch the latest episode of Dream Dad.”

“Because at the end of the day, they (the masa) really don’t care about these small blunders being made by public figures,” he added. “All they care about is why ‘Yes Agnes‘ trended worldwide on Twitter.”

To which Farnsworth jested, “Ooooh, worldwide….”

Bangkok, Thailand – After today’s fourth-place finish of Annalie Forbes, the Philippines’ representative to the Miss Grand International Beauty Pageant in Bangkok, Thailand, the Association of Beauty Pageant Franchise Holders (ABPFH) has banned the Philippines from future international beauty competitions, citing “enormous advantage” by Filipina candidates in practically all pageants this year.
The disqualification will be in effect for two years.
The Philippines holds the distinction of having won the title in all major beauty competitions like Miss Universe, Miss World and Miss International. Additionally, every new international beauty competition has seen a Filipina winning the title or placing in the top 5. Earlier this year, Mutya Datul won the 2013 Miss SupraNational Pageant.
Forbes is the fourth Filipino to make it to the top 5 in competitions this year. Megan Young, of course, bagged the 2013 Miss World title this year, the first-ever for the Philippines. Before Young, Evangeline Pascual reached the finals and was first runner-up in 1973 while Ruffa Gutierrez was second runner-up in 1993.
Ariella Arida, the country’s bet in the 2013 Miss Universe Pageant in Moscow, Russia, placed fourth.
Other Filipina beauties who have won international titles include Gloria Diaz and Margie Moran (Miss Universe) and Gemma Cruz, Mimilanie Marquez, Aurora Pijuan, and Precious Lara Quigaman (Miss International). Karla Henry won the Miss Earth title in 2008.
In 2010, 2011 and 2012, the Philippines’ Venus Raj, Shamcey Supsup and Janine Tugonon were all in the top 5 in the Miss Universe competition.
ABPFH said that it is time for the Philippines to give other countries the chance to win international beauty competitions, adding that “the world already knows how beautiful and talented Filipinas are.”

India mission to Mars blasts off successfully

NEW DELHI, India – India's first mission to Mars blasted off on Tuesday, November 5, as the country aims to become the only Asian nation to reach the Red Planet with a program showcasing its low-cost space technology.

"It's lift off," said a commentator on state television as the red-and-black rocket launched into a slightly overcast sky on schedule at 02:38pm (0908 GMT) from the southern spaceport in Sriharikota.

The 350-tonne launch vehicle carrying an unmanned probe was monitored by dozens of scientists in the control room who face their most daunting task since India began its space program in 1963.

The country has never before attempted inter-planetary travel and more than half of all missions to Mars have ended in failure, including China's in 2011 and Japan's in 2003.

The Mars Orbiter Mission, known as "Mangalyaan" in India, was announced only 15 months ago by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, shortly after China's attempt flopped when it failed to leave Earth's atmosphere.

The timing led to speculation that India was seeking to make a point to its militarily and economically superior neighbor, despite denials from the country's space agency.

"We are in competition with ourselves in the areas that we have charted for ourselves," Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) chairman K. Radhakrishnan told AFP last week.

The gold-coloured probe, the size of a small car, will aim to detect methane in the Martian atmosphere. It has been hurriedly assembled and is being carried by a rocket much smaller than US or Russian equivalents.

Lacking the power to fly directly, the launch vehicle will orbit Earth for nearly a month, building up the necessary velocity to break free from our planet's gravitational pull.

Only then will it begin the second stage of its 9-month journey which will test India's scientists to the full, 5 years after they sent a probe called Chandrayaan to the moon.

Costs lower than NASA's Mars probe

The cost of the Mars mission is 4.5 billion rupees ($73 million or P3.15 billion), less than a sixth of the 455 million dollars earmarked for a Mars probe by NASA which will launched later this month.

"We didn't believe they'd be able to launch this early," project scientist for the NASA Mars probe, Joe Grebowsky, told AFP. "If it's successful, it's fantastic."

He underlined that Mars, which has a complicated orbit meaning it is between 50-400 million kilometres from Earth, was a far more complex prospect compared with a moon mission.

"When you shoot a rocket at Mars, you have to take into account that Mars is going to move a good deal before you get there. The moon is fairly close," he said.

There have been recent setbacks for India too, including when Chandrayaan lost contact with its controllers in 2009. Another launch vehicle blew up after take-off in 2010.

The program also has to contend with critics who say a country that struggles to feed its people adequately and where more than half have no toilets should not be splurging on space travel.

ISRO counters that its technology has helped economic development through satellites which monitor weather and water resources, or enable communication in remote areas.

The Bangalore-based organisation and its 16,000 staff also share their rocket technology with the state-run defence body responsible for India's missile program.

The United States is the only nation that has successfully sent robotic explorers to land on Mars, the most recent being Curiosity which touched down in August 2012.

One of its discoveries appeared to undercut the purpose of the Indian mission which is to find evidence of methane which would lend credence to the idea of Mars supporting a primitive form of life.

A study of data from Curiosity published in September found the rover had detected only trace elements of methane in the atmosphere.

"Remember that it (Curiosity's methane reading) is for a single spot. One point doesn't make it a story for the whole planet," top Indian space scientist Jitendra Nath Goswami told AFP.

NASA, which will launch its Maven probe on November 18 to study why Mars lost its atmosphere, is helping ISRO with communications.

Clouds of methane have previously been identified by telescopes on Mars, but the gas has never been confirmed by a mission there.

Methane on Earth is mostly produced by micro-organisms, so a positive reading would suggest some form of life on a planet that scientists believe was once covered with water.

Jinggoy Estrada Arrested to US After Trying to Smuggle US Dollar

SAN FRANCISCO, California — Officials inside San Francisco International Airport detained and arrested Senator Jinggoy Estrada, after the lawmaker tried to get past customs while in possession of huge amounts of money.

Estrada, who came to San Francisco via a connecting flight from Hong Kong, was initially reported to accompany his wife to the United States, to seek a second opinion from US-based doctors for a lump in his wife’s breast.

But it turns out, his wife was not with him on the trip, and it was the senator instead who had a lump on his breast.

Airport authorities grew suspicious of the senator after they noticed him all sweaty, jumpy and saw a noticeable bulge on the upper-body-area of his clothes.

“We asked him what it was,” said SFIA Head of Security Trevor Philip Ogg. “The cocky son-of-a-bitch answered me by asking ’don’t you know who I am?’”

“I said no, who the hell are you?” narrated Ogg.

Estrada apparently introduced himself as “THE sexy senator from the Philippines”, and that the bulge on his chest was the result of intense workout regimen he undertook months prior.

But when the senator sensed that Ogg was feeling sketchy with his response, Estrada flip-flopped and told him that he was seeking medical advice from US doctors for the said lumps.

That’s when airport officials decided to frisk him.

Ogg added, “When he took off his shirt, we saw rectangular lumps in-place of his muscles, an unusual sight that does not resemble the six-packs you see on TV.”

Upon closer inspection with the help of a scalpel, they discovered bundles of money hidden inside Estrada’s ‘muscles’ and skin, that the senator was trying to bring in to the country.

“We counted millions worth of Pesos that we suspect belongs to the Filipinos,” said Ogg.

He added, “Mr. Estrada is now visually far from sexy after we emptied his body of money after a full cavity search.

Child bride in Yemen dies of internal bleeding on wedding night: activist

SANAA (Reuters) - An eight-year-old Yemeni girl died of internal bleeding on her wedding night after marrying a man five times her age, a social activist and two local residents said, in a case that has caused an outcry in the media and revived debate about child brides.

Arwa Othman, head of Yemen House of Folklore and a leading rights campaigner, said the girl, identified only as Rawan, was married to a 40-year-old man late last week in the town of Meedi in Hajjah province in northwestern Yemen.

"On the wedding night and after intercourse, she suffered from bleeding and uterine rupture which caused her death," Othman told Reuters. "They took her to a clinic but the medics couldn't save her life."

Othman said authorities had not taken any action against the girl's family or her husband.

A local security official in the provincial town of Haradh denied any such incident had taken place. He did not want to be identified because he was not authorized to speak to the press.

But two Meedi residents contacted by Reuters confirmed the incident and said that local tribal chiefs had tried to cover up the incident when news first broke, warning a local journalist against covering the story.

Many poor families in Yemen marry off young daughters to save on the costs of bringing up a child and earn extra money from the dowry given to the girl.

A U.N. report released in January revealed the extent of the country's poverty, saying that 10.5 million of Yemen's 24 million people lacked sufficient food supplies, and 13 million had no access to safe water and basic sanitation.

Human Rights Watch urged Yemen's government in December 2011 to ban marriages of girls under the age of 18, warning it deprived child brides of education and harmed their health.

Quoting United Nations and government data, HRW said nearly 14 percent of Yemeni girls were married before the age of 15 and 52 percent before the age of 18. The group said many Yemeni child brides-to-be are kept from school when they reach puberty.

Discussions on the issue were shelved by political turmoil following protests against President Ali Abdullah Saleh in 2011 that led to his ouster.

As expected, Apple unveiled a new more affordable iPhone, which, at just $99 in the US, will make owning an Apple device a reality for a host of new users. However, despite the small ticket, this is a very capable phone. Available in lime green, strawberry pink, sky blue, lemon yellow, and, of course, Apple white, the phone is constructed from hard-coated polycarbonate for a seamless, almost sculpted finish and will be offered with a selection of silicone cases so that owners can, in the words of Phil Schiller, Apple’s head of marketing, “create exactly the look that you want.” However, underneath the shiny, brightly-colored exterior is a pretty serious device that supports pretty much all global LTE and 4G network protocols for super-fast mobile internet. It also packs a four-inch full retina display and supports the latest version of Bluetooth for connecting to other devices, such as fitness trackers and speakers. It also packs a better, longer lasting battery than the current iPhone 5 and offers a slightly smaller 8 megapixel camera with a 3x zoom. But the biggest news was that the device is expected to cost $99 in the US. Aimed as much at younger consumers as well as those suspicious of long-term contracts with network operators, in a move that surprised everyone, Apple is immediately dropping its existing flagship, the iPhone 5 to make way for the 5C and its big brother the 5S. However, it will continue to build and sell the iPhone 4S which is now essentially the entry-level iPhone. The new handset is expected to hit the shelves in the US, UK and China on September 20.

More money-mistakes by OFWs (and Pinoys in general)

Millions of OFW families continue to suffer from financial stress despite the significant boost in the OFWs’ income. Many of these money problems can be traced to mismanagement of their finances. Here are some more money-mistakes that many OFWs make.

1. Sending all your savings to the family. This will not be a problem if your family back home knows how tomanage money responsibly. We’ve all heard of sob stories about a how the spouse in the Philippines wasted the money sent by the OFW and when the OFW returns there’s hardly anything to show for his hard work abroad. If your family cannot be trusted with large sums of money, it’s best that you don’t give them full access to your savings. You can retain control of your funds by opening an account under your name and putting some (or most) of your savings into this account. You can open this personal (or investment) account in the Philippines or in the country where you work. However, I recommend that you keep a Philippine account. Your family may find it difficult to get their hands on your foreign account in case something happens to you. Besides, you will be helping the country more if you keep your money in the Philippines.

2. Not planning for life after OFW work. Most OFWs will eventually return home for good, either by choice or forced to cut short their stint abroad due to unplanned or unexpected events like closure of the company or getting seriously ill. I recently got an email from an OFW who asked about how he can better prepare for retirement. He’s coming back permanently in a few years but will still have a job in the Philippines. He’s among the lucky ones who have jobs to fall back on after working as an OFW. Many other returning OFWs will be added to the country’s unemployment or underemployment statistics and with limited savings, it will just be a matter of time before these ex-OFWs start to suffer from financial problems.

It is crucial then that OFWs prepare for post-OFW life as soon as possible. Planning way ahead of time will make preparation a bit easier and will give you more options. Save as much as you can while still working abroad and invest your savings. If you can’t save enough to retire permanently, then you will have to keep on working (as an employee or your own boss) when you come back. Continue enhancing existing skills and learn new ones to improve your chances of landing a job when you return. Develop other sources of income back home (e.g. rental properties and small business) while you’re still in foreign soil so that you will have a steady source of funds when you return and stay for good.

3. Taking on too much debt. A large number of OFWs incur debt when they are first deployed. You just have to go near the POEA building in Ortigas to see that OFW loans is big business. Agents of lending companies are always there to distribute flyers with many of their target customers keenly examining the loans they are offering. I can understand OFWs borrowing money to cover expenses for deployment because placement fees today far exceed whatever savings they have. What is troubling is OFWs unnecessarily taking on additional debt because they are now earning more. “I-charge mo na lang sa credit card yung gusto mong kumikinang na sapatos at glow in the dark na make-up, tutal may pambayad na tayo nyan!” or “Sige, kunin mo yung voice-activiated TV na binibenta ng Bombay o umutang ka sa 5-6 para mabili mo yung gusto mong imitation na LV bag!” is something you might hear from an OFW. If you have to borrow money, do so because it is necessary and important. Do not borrow to support extravagant spending.

4. Accumulating unproductive assets. To a typical OFW, investing means buying tangible items that he can see, touch and feel. Ask him where he has invested his earnings and the usual answer will include any or all of the following: house and lot, appliances, furniture, computers, electronic gadgets, car, motorcycle and jewelry. While some of these are valuable assets, many are not productive, meaning they decrease in value over time and doesn’t bring more money into your pocket. In fact, some will make you spend more like fuel, maintenance and insurance for a vehicle. A money-smart OFW will acquire items that will likely increase in value over the years and/or increase his income. Accumulating items that continually decline in value is like slow-burning your money. Besides highly tangible assets like real estate and a car used for business, there are other valuable assets that are less tangible but are great investments nonetheless like investment-linked insurance policies, mutual funds, UITFs and stocks.

5. Falling for investment scams. Scammers take advantage of the OFWs’ burning desire to return home to their loved ones and not having to work away from them ever again. They make absurd promises of enormous earnings in a short period with minimal effort and position their investment as the best way towards getting rich. Sadly, many fall for these false promises. Do not allow criminals to steal your hard-earned money through dubious investment schemes. Before you put money in any investment, study it thoroughly and ask questions. Do not say yes to an investment immediately. Scammers usually persuade would-be victims to decide quickly so you won’t have time to uncover their deception and lies. Think long and hard before deciding. Consult others who are knowledgeable about investing and familiar with what’s being offered to you. If you have doubts about an investment then don’t put your money in it. It’s better for you to miss out on a legitimate investment with great returns because you had doubts than to lose your life’s savings on a scam because you disregarded your doubts and instead believed their lies. Always keep in mind that if an investment is too good to be true, it’s probably a scam!

6. Being overly generous with money. People who are earning well tend to be more generous. Ever heard of the returning OFW who throws a feast not just for the family but for the whole neighborhood? Or the one who lavishes his family, relatives and friends with gifts in kind or in cash? There’s nothing wrong with sharing your money as long as you do not over do it. Remember that there are more important uses for your money than making other people happy with cash. Be sensible when giving money. If you know that it’s just going to be spent on non-essential items then don’t give too much. Better yet give only when it is really needed. Also, be cautious in lending large amounts of money to people who intend to use it as capital for a business. Some relatives and friends of OFWs who do not have the knowledge, skills and right attitude to run a business suddenly feel like they are capable entrepreneurs knowing they can get money from the OFW. Do not lend money for capital unless you have the skill and competence to evaluate the would-be borrower’sbusiness plan and agree that it is feasible and profitable. The more money you have, the more relatives and friends will come to you asking for money. Learn to say “no!”

SAMSUNG PAYS APPLE $1 BILLION SENDING 30 TRUCKS FULL OF 5 CENTS COINS

This morning more than 30 trucks filled up with coins of 5 cents arrived at Apple’s headquarters in California. Initially, the security company that protects the facility said it was diverted to the wrong place, but minutes later, Tim Cook (Apple CEO) received a call from Samsung CEO explaining that they will pay $1 billion dollars for the fine recently ruled against the South Korean company in this way.

the funny part is that the signed document does not specify a single payment method, so Samsung is entitled to send him to the creators of the iPhone its billion dollars as they deem best.

This dirty but genius geek troll play is a new headache to Apple executives in the sense of the method that they need to apply for counting all that money, check if it is complete and try to deposit it crossing fingers to hope a bank will accept to receive that.

London, July 2 (ANI): 90 percent of British women have confessed to getting turned on by porn.

An X-rated survey has revealed that almost a third of women have been inspired from porn to spice up their sex lives.

Online pornography is also popular-with 37 percent logging on for a glimpse at erotic pictures - and one in 50 even watching them while at work.

Almost four out of ten of those surveyed said that they liked looking at naked women and three out of ten enjoy girl-on-girl action - with a daring nine percent confessing the porn had inspired them to try it for real, the Sun reported.

Half of those polled for Glamour magazine had sent their lovers sexy photos with 16 percent admitting to have stripped off for a webcam.

The Sun told last week how UK women are snapping up sex toys hoping to re-enact the erotic tales in E L James's bestseller 'Fifty Shades of Grey'.

But men are just as hooked on porn. A fifth look at it online at least once a day, according to a similar poll in GQ magazine.

And they're getting kinkier- with 60 percent claiming that they've been in an orgy, over half said they'd had a threesome and almost two-thirds had taken part in webcam sex. (ANI)

Masquerade of Greed and Fraud: RIP Boxing?

The scoring travesty in boxing manipulated by three judges in Las Vegas, Nevada between Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao and Timothy “Desert Storm” Bradley last June 9, 2012 has been gaining a world-wide uproar addressed to sports authorities for the reversal of the judges’ ruling and their eventual punishment such as early retirement or banishment for life in judging future boxing bouts.

One of the “three blind mice,” Duane Ford admitted in a recent interview by Jim Lampley in his “The Fight Game” show that the first six rounds of the fight went to Pacquiao but Bradley tired Pacquiao in later rounds. Ford continued his bewildering statement adding insult to injury that “Pacquiao could have finished Bradley off in the fourth round. xxx He was not the Manny Pacquiao I have judged before.” If Pacman got the first six rounds, why Ford did not know a very basic arithmetic that 6 rounds + 6 rounds = 12 rounds? The plain conclusion of the boxing bout could have been and at the very least, a draw. Ford clearly set his own standard by judging Pacquiao as his previous fights that could have easily led to Bradley’s only knockout loss of his career. With more reason that Ford should be investigated if this is his personal standard and be stripped off of his tarnished license as a boxing judge. The sport of boxing can never linger in the shadow of incompetent and should I say, corrupt boxing judges only to ruin the integrity and popularity of the sport. More dubious to me was the unanimous scoring of the “three blind mice” in the 7th round as all taken by Bradley when Pacquiao outpunched Bradley, 27-11 in that round. Is this the outcome’s conspiracy or prophecy?

Although personally as boxing fanatic, I am in favor of investigation surrounding the circumstances declaring Bradley as the undeserving and masquerading winner, I cannot further agree that such investigation be conducted by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC). What could we expect if NSAC does the investigation against its own incompetent and corrupt employees? WBO President Francisco Varcarcel entered the scene by ordering NSAC the review of the boxing video with early pronouncement that the fight was really close and difficult to judge. What a posture of sanctioning organization head who wants to manipulate again the upcoming investigation results! How could the WBO President say “review” when he already concluded that the fight was so close and difficult to judge? How come that the fight turned out to be close when more than 90% of all world sport writers, analysts and websites scored the fight with Pacquiao as the runaway winner? How come that the fight was difficult to judge when only several factors are to be considered in scoring boxing: ring generalship or dominance, aggressiveness, fighting style and what more? Punches? Pacquiao dominated the boxing statistics for that particular bout as it appears in CompuBox. What expert eyes these judges are saying that the ordinary eyes could not have seen? Well yes! We saw that crime of robbery in a broad daylight, in flagrante delicto, against a Philippine Congressman. True judges! This is not American Idol with the outcome being dictated by thrilled, serenaded or flirted audience. This is boxing and unfortunately the results are falsely tailored by such dubbed “experts”?

Investigation per se without rectification of the boxing results is a complete stupidity. The NSAC recommendation that will come out later can never make any turning point in boxing history but the usual and shameful rematch of fighters. And to Pacquiao, it will not make him anything good but his acceptance of the rematch is only sanctioning and dignifying the boulevard of fraud in boxing. Even if it happens, I will never watch Pacquiao doing the World Puppet Show of Bob Arum, the king of folly, most historic manipulator and world-renowned Pontius Pilate of the sport. If I were Pacquiao, I would rather chase arch nemesis Juan Manuel Marquez for a fourth match, even if unpopular, and prove to the world that he really deserved the victory last November 2011 or pursue negotiations with Floyd “Money” Mayweather who, I think, may now accede after all the prison and family issues that pulverized his character as a boxing superstar of Uncle Sam’s America.

Ordering rematch between Pacquiao and Bradley is a plain idiocy to figure out. Why push through with the rematch when Pacman was the clear winner in the eyes of millions or even billions of people around the world? The best way to revitalize boxing as a sport is to get rid of NSAC and these sanctioning bodies like WBO, WBC, IBF, etc. There must be an independent world boxing commission that will man boxing fights and protect the integrity of boxing results unlike now that they can easily manipulate the outcome because of speaking money($). For now, thanks to Sens. McCain and Reid for their efforts to create a federal boxing commission.

Speaking of financial equilibrium, Pacquiao has been the biggest milking cow and piggy bank of Top Rank for several years and Bob Arum could not agree less when dealing with money, more money or most money. Well, it seems that Arum wanted Manny to lose so he can give Manny less. Unfortunately, Pacman still has something to prove in boxing. What an astute promoter in Arum fielding his own Top Rank scorer with Bradley in score card as the manhandled winner. Oh My Arum! It appears now that NSAC, WBO and Top Rank fashioned the sweet conspiracy against God-renewed Pacquiao in the Sin City of Vegas?

Nevertheless, Filipinos are still very proud that one of the greatest boxers of all time happened to be with the same citizenship as ours. We are indebted that our generation witnessed and still witnessing Manny Pacquiao on high definition videos and digital cameras, live coverage of boxing matches on pay per views, LED televisions, countless articles on websites and commentaries on print and broadcast media. The first 8-division boxing champion should now chase the best boxing match of his career and thereafter hang his boxing gloves for good. From then on Pacquiao, no more fraud. No more Arums. WBO says Pacquiao beat Bradley

The special five-man panel tasked by World Boxing Organization (WBO) president Francisco "Paco" Valcarcel to review the controversial Manny Pacquiao-Timothy Bradley WBO welterweight title fight has reached the conclusion that the Filipino did indeed win the June 9 bout.

According to RingTV, all five members of the panel reviewed the bout and all scored it in favor of the Filipino ring icon. Two judges scored it 117-111, while the other three scored it 118-110, 116-112, and 115-113.

Bradley won Pacquiao's welterweight belt via a split decision, with two judges scoring it 115-113 for the American and a third scoring it 115-113 for Pacquiao. The decision sparked massive outrage within the boxing community and even had two United States senators pushing for the creation of a national boxing commission to regulate the sport, prompting Valcarcel to order a review.

The panel's findings generally reflect the sentiment of boxing observers who were at ringside, almost all of whom had Pacquiao winning by various margins. Top Rank head Bob Arum, who promotes both fighters and who called for an investigation of the bout, called the findings a "Solomon-like conclusion".

Despite the panel's findings, WBO rules cannot allow the decision to be overturned. The most the boxing body can do, according to Valcarcel, is to order a rematch, something Arum has recently said he is no longer keen on doing.
