Sakeji School Flights Successfully Completed

Thank the Lord with us for safety as both planes flew these last two days. This week has been especially rainy and we wondered, would we be able to meet the heavy schedule of beginning of term flights.

The Lord answered your and our prayers. Friday morning, contrary to forecasts, the weather changed. Both planes were able to take off at 05:50 arriving back just before dusk. 40 students were flown on 8 flights. The winds helped fly at 150 knots in one direction but as slow as 85 on the return.

Emergency Surgery

Jo Lake accompanied as nurse yesterday for the medial emergency flight to Lusaka. Please pray the surgeries will be successful and a life saved.

Licensed Again!

We are grateful to the Lord that our AMO (Aircraft Maintenance Organization) licence has been renewed this week.

This licence is mandatory to do our maintenance, engine changes and Certificate or Airworthiness on our planes here at Kalene. An inspector was flown from Lusaka, Sept 27th. A detailed inspection was made of our facility and maintenance manuals.

He said we are one of the better maintenance facilities in the country. He enjoyed attending our morning Bible reading in our home and later in the Hangar.

In the Air Again!

Yesterday the final checks and adjustments were done on FMC’s new engine. Just before dusk we did our first test flight.

In the cool of the early morning we checked the engine and did the engine break in flight. Praise the Lord with us for His help!

We are off to Lusaka Monday returning Tuesday. Pleased to be able to meet our commitments for this flight.

Our 6th Engine Change 1 Week In

We are grateful to the Lord for help given this week. It has been long days for John, Jon and James. The old engine has had some parts removed and cleaned to use again.

The new engine had as much as possible assembled onto it before being put in Friday. The engine bay took days to clean and was painted.

Things have gone well. Please continue to pray before the end of next week we will be flying again.

Our 6th Engine Change

This is 9J-FMC our C-207 (which we have flown for almost 24 years, since the beginning of the Flight Service) returning Saturday morning.

The engine change started right after arrival. We are grateful Jon Lake is here to work with John Loudon on this project. Jon had the engine out before the end of the day.

Please pray the work will go safely and quickly as the plane is booked to fly November 7. We are grateful to the Lord for His continued provision for both personal and resources.

The Lakes join Mission Flight Services

We are delighted to have Jon & Jo Lake join Mission Flight Services from the United Kingdom. Jon is serving as pilot and aircraft mechanic and Jo is a mid-wife meeting a great need in the hospital.

Medivac for 2 day old baby

Today we were able to help the Hospital with an urgent medical flight to Ndola, 2.5-hour flight.

This baby, born with some birth defects, needs further investigations & possible bowel surgery.

Kalene Hospital and Mission Flight Services share in the cost of these emergency medical charter flights, looking to the Lord for provision. This is the second medical emergency flight in 2 weeks.

John Loudon flew accompanied by a nurse (as the baby was on oxygen), the mother and grandmother.

Please pray that the Drs. will be able to save the baby’s life, making this flight worthwhile.
