You’re Invited to the Story of God Weekend!

The Story of God Weekend is designed to help you understand the Bible from cover to cover by understanding the key stories of the Bible.
Once you understand the “Big Picture” the rest falls into place… even more, life begins to fall into place in amazing ways because we find out how we fit in to what God is doing in the world and how we can have the joy of being part of it!

Whether you consider yourself a “Bible expert” or don’t know what the “:” stands for in “John 3:16″ – this event is for you!

We’ll all be at the same “level” because all the discussion questions and dialogues come straight from the stories we read together at the Story of God weekend!

As part of St. Andrew’s hope to serve all of Lawrence County called “Mission Lawrence”, we’re offering our facilities for a weekly Men’s Community Prayer Meeting.

What will we be praying for?

We’ll be joining as Christians to:

1. Exalt Jesus Christ in praise and adoration,
2. Confess our sins and seek forgiveness and renewal, and to
3. Pray “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven” in Lawrence County and wherever the Lord let’s us serve Him.

No reservation is necessary.

There’s no cost.

You just have to want to pray earnestly with other Christian men in Lawrence County!

On The Matt Friedeman show today I plan to talk about “Starting Each Day with the Promises of God”

The Bible is, of course, filled with many promises! Some to God’s people – some even to God’s enemies! (I guarantee, you don’t want to start the day with THOSE promises!)

So why not begin with the most basic promises of the Christian life? Specifically why not recount each day the promises God gives us when we are baptized “into the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit”?

Here is how those promises are turned into a prayer that can be used daily to focus us on the most important promises of God:

Heavenly Father I thank you that you have established an eternal covenant of grace with me. Thank you for adopting me as your child and heir. Thank you for promising to provide for all my needs this day and work all things together for my blessing as your called child.

Lord Jesus I thank you that You promise to wash me in Your blood from all my sins and unite me with You in your death and resurrection, free me from my sin and present me as forgiven and righteous before the Father.

Holy Spirit I thank you for promising to dwell in me and make me a living member of Jesus Christ and daily renew me in His Image. Produce in me your holy fruit until that day when I shall finally be presented without blemish among the assembly of God’s elect in life eternal.  Amen.

What are the Benefits of Praying this way?

1. You start the day focused on your status as the adopted child of God and not what you would be otherwise – an orphan.

2. You start the day focused on the true source of your life’s power and hope, the grace of God – not your own strength.

3. You change your focus from the shifting sands of your own emotions, sins, and failures to the solid rock of God’s faithfulness.
