It's no secret that in my next life, I want to come back as an Olsen. Yes I am flirting with the depths of shallowness but at least I no longer want to be a Kardashian. I don't wear real fur for ethical reasons but I won't fight it if it's made before the 70's. I just acquired an amazing faux fur jacket and all I want when I wake up is for it to be snowing outside so I can wear it. I have tears in my eyes when I wake up and see the sun. All I want is to wear that jacket. Eish these girls, it all looks so effortless but it is probably meticulously planned - I think that is the basis of being stylish. Make it look easy and then drive Mili's favourite car just to up the ante on the torture.

Every couple of months I visit French designer, Vanessa Bruno's website to look for those addictive fashion videos she's famous for. For the second time, Kate Bosworth stars in Bruno's videos, this time, Spring Summer 2012. As always, it's really moving imagery and brilliant cinematography. But I must admit, I still prefer the ones with Lou Doillon, like the one in the next post.

This is M.I.A's new video. The song is called Bad Girls and I would do anything to be in this music video. If there's anything to motivate world peace between the East and the West, it is this video. Very rarely are Middle Eastern people portrayed in a positive, fuck it we are having an awesome time, kind of way. I guess it's the same way Africa is represented by international media - if we're not fighting or starving, we are riddled with disease. This video has opened me up to consider the Middle East in another way. If not, it's a damn cool song.

It's superbowl weekend in America tomorrow and Madonna will honour the most expensive slot in TV advertising with her presence in the form of her latest song ''Give me all your luvin''. I'm not a fan of old Madge, but I do like her cheerleaders in this video, one Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. This is a great video. Everybody looks fantastic, especially when they are in their white dresses and blonde wigs. I'm pretty sure M.I.A shits ice blocks. And the song kinda grew on me towards the end. Madonna's 952nd album comes out on 26 March.

I was playing dress up and Cuss Magazine's Jamal got me to pose like this :-) It was so much fun and I adore these little booties. I recently started following @SoKateMoss on Twitter. It's not the real Kate Moss, just fans. Yesterday they posted a link to the images above from a Love Magazine issue #7 cover that featured 8 different super models and published their age and measurements to illustrate how ''different and varied'' their bodies are. I don't really care for such gimmicks but I do like the covers. Kristen McMenamy was 46 when these pictures were taken in 2010.

What an ear fuck. Seriously the best 6.25 minutes of this here 2012. My trusted sender of all things cool, Celiwe just sent me a link to this Zero 7 song. Firstly, I love every beat that band makes so this was a very welcome surprise. There is no secondly. It's the perfect marriage of Zulu choral or traditional music and Zero 7's cool loungy alternative sound (sorry I don't know what it's called). MaYaN it's cool! The song is aptly called ''Likufanele'' and the lyrics go ''Igama obizwa ngalo likufanele''. I mean really. This means ''The name that they call you by suits you'', which I believe is true for everybody.

I didn't set out to buy books whose covers happen to have my favourite colour, Mint Green on them. I only noticed this when I got home. When I was on holiday, I went to a really great, and I mean seriously wonderful bookstore called Hemingways in Hermanus. It's not the most accessible place old Hermanus but if you ever happen to drive through there on your way to some beautiful place in the Cape, I highly recommend you make a stop there. I've been keeping a bit of a low profile this year, haven't really been out much and it's because of these books. You can never read enough good books or listen to enough good music. I just wish there were more hours in the day.

My friend Celiwe sent this to me today. It's the trailer for the restored version of Lionel Rogosin's Come Back, Africa - a feature film released to the world in 1959/1960 about the life of black people during Apartheid in the 1950's. They've done a brilliant job on the restoration. I really can't wait to see this. The local re-release was meant to coincide with the ANC Centenary celebrations this month. If anybody knows when and where this will be screened in SA, please shed some light.

This is clearly my lucky week of discovering cool local blogs. This is the latest, a tumblr blog called I See A Different You. On the ''About'' section of the blog, it simply states: A trio collective from Soweto portraying South Africa as they see it''. I think two of them are brothers because their names are Justice Mukheli and Innocent Mukheli, the third person is Vuyo Mpantsha. Whoever you are, you take really beautiful photographs. The dimensions of my blog don't do the pics enough justice, you have to go to their site to see them properly.
