A Dream

I had a dream where I was at a two level pier, with the lower level extending to some degree beyond the second level.

Does such a place exist? Most piers I have seen have only water below and maybe only a landing or whatever it would be called, for boats. Not important since this was only a dream.

Walking past other people who were fishing in the sunlight, I started using my aquatic telepathy. I tend to have super powers in dreams. This is not out of the ordinary for me.

I summoned a couple smallish sharks almost immediately. You could easily see their dorsal fins breaching the surface. Suddenly, one of the sharks leaped out the water, onto the lower pier and bounded or hopped right past me. I stood still and watched him bounce down the pier terrorizing the other people there.

Pretty freaking cool.

I take it I am the only one who is annoyed by so many senior portraits on train tracks. Well, your metaphor is weak!

I doubt too many of these slack jawed seniors have any desire to be engineers or train conductors.

We live in another age, middle 'Merica. The Industrial Revolution came and went to most parts of the world a century ago.

The west coast is now populated. Let's have our seniors posing in front of planetariums or nuclear power plants. Put them in lab coats.

Damn senior portraits in poorly composed mock sports magazines are not cute either.

At the very least, pose the seniors holding a laptop in front of a bank or something. Sheesh.

If you must have them on a train track, pose them with an easel and paint brushes or old cameras.

Sigh. The future looks quite imbecilic.

So many senior portraits on train tracks. Family portraits too.

Then there are the shots of the families walking away from the photographer. It's just bad boring in creative photography.

I just printed at least five orders in a row from different photographers and each order had a senior on train tracks.

It looks like a legion of former "glamour shots" employees are shooting senior portraits.

Would it kill anyone to have seniors portraits of them reading a book. It could be a Kindle or an iPad, something academic.

Turnaround

Another really swell action figure from DC Direct. I don't even mind the shared male body the previous two Brightest Day waves have used. The fire effect for his hair/whatever is really well done. Articulation is fairly decent for a DC Direct figure too.

I must be slow or something, but the Research In Motion Playbook did nothing for me. I could not intuit how to work it within 30 seconds. Now granted I was in a Beat Buy and mouth breathing customers may have done horrible things to it. Floor models are kinda poo in big box retailers.

The sales associates were friendly and seemed very willing to be of assistance, but I (of all people) should not need help with a consumer level tablet device.

Five hundred dollars for a small 7 inch device seems to be a bit much.

Oh well. I have an iPad.
Just looking at the other stuff out there. So far there is no competition.

Brightest Day Green Arrow

Details and paint job are nice.

Best of all, the hood comes off. Here he is paired with Green Lantern Arisia.

Both are from similar, if not subsequent series. This time at least, scale is not a problem.

Finally we have GA with the original, Golden Age Green Lantern, Alan Scott.

Again, scale is strangely not a problem, even though GL is in the enormous Alex Ross scale.

Even though, I do not really care for the costume, and the shoulder articulation is a bit wacky to me, this may be my favorite version of Green Arrow released by DC Direct.
