Justice at last !

Gary Dobson and David Norris have been convicted of the murder of black teenager Stephen Lawrence

The parents of Stephen Lawrence have expressed joy and relief after two men were convicted of his murder nearly 19 years after he was stabbed to death.

Gary Dobson, 36, and David Norris, 35, were both found guilty of murder by a jury at the Old Bailey.

They will be sentenced as juveniles when their terms are handed down on Wednesday because of their ages at the time of the murder.

Mr Lawrence died in a racist attack by a gang of white youths in Eltham, south east London, in April 1993.

Standing outside the Old Bailey with her surviving son Stuart, Doreen Lawrence said her relief at the verdict was mixed with anger that it had taken the police so long to get a prosecution. Neville Lawrence said he could not rest until all his son's attackers were caught.

The Metropolitan Police faced fierce criticism of the original investigation into Mr Lawrence's death. A public inquiry branded the force institutionally racist and claims were made by Mr and Mrs Lawrence's lawyers that some officers were influenced by Norris' former drugs baron father.

Acting Deputy Commissioner for the Met Cressida Dick said the couple's unstinting campaign to get justice for their son "contributed to major changes within policing, the law and society as a whole".

The breakthrough in the investigation came when a cold case team of forensic scientists were called in. They found tiny traces of blood, hair and fibres on clothing seized from the homes of Dobson and Norris.

The defence had claimed that the material got there via contamination, but this was rejected by the jury.

Prime Minister David Cameron said: "In the 19 years since his murder, Stephen Lawrence's family has fought tirelessly for justice. This verdict cannot ease the pain of losing a son but for Doreen and Neville Lawrence, I hope that it brings at least some comfort after their years of struggle."

The existentialists define angst as the dread caused by man's awareness that his future is not determined but must be freely chosen.

So why do we as humans create Angst for others by making the choice of self -termination(suicide and assisting suicide) taboo.

Surely if a reasonable, intelligent, person decide that the time has come to shut down his own machine that is his ultimate and final choice,and should be respected not presented as a concept so taboo and wrong as to ensure the individual then halts on that choice but consequently lives in angst and misery.

I d o not refer to the feelings and the decision brought on in /through depression but on the intellectually reasoned decision and realisation that humans define their own purpose in existence and may thereby reach a point where no further existence is required or wanted.

I am tired and could sleep for a thousand years.

Thousands of women have taken to the streets of Cairo in protest against oppressive military rule after an Egyptian woman was dragged by her hair, stripped from the waist up then kicked and beaten by soldiers.

Footage of the brutal incident went global and sparked the protests in Cairo on Tuesday, largely dominated by women outraged by the attack which is known internationally as the “bra beating”. Many of the women held signs and placards displaying an image of the beating, seen now as the symbolic image of their protest.

The government decides that a useful application of their great fiscal and economic minds (NOT) is to spend hours of the governments liited time coming up with a scheme to reward those who support the institutions the government likes.
Yes obviously this is not really an economic matter. With the cost of marriage itself no one in their right mind,(so that actually excludes most of the english voters haha) will see that as a motivator for actually getting married.

A dutch company has got everybody ' chattin ' online about it's new Advertisement.
No buxom supermodel for the latest underwear collection from Dutch department store Hema.................instead have opted for the more 'unconventional'.

Their campaign for the ‘Mega Push-Up Bra’ from Hema that promises to ‘add two cup sizes’ is fronted by a man - Male model Andrej Pejic.
The company’s decision to have a man front the campaign appears to have paid off - as his natural cleavage-free physique is visibly enhanced by their ‘boosting’ bra.
I personally think Pejic is gorgeous and he is not new to modelling clothing for woman using his trade mark androgynous good looks. He closed Jean Paul Gaultier’s womenswear haute couture show in Paris wearing a bridal gown and was also ranked number 98 in FHM magazine's 100 Sexiest Women in the World 2011 but the ‘award’ that was accompanied with a derogatory subtext encouraging readers to ‘pass the sick bucket’ in response to his androgyny was later removed from FHM's website.(which says more about 21st century male FHM readers than anything else).
The idea is perhaps not as stupid as it at first sounds because, as the Fashion Director at The Telegraph told the BBC earlier this year: “he has the most amazing figure, especially when you consider that a lot of designers are designing for this impossible ideal for someone who is 5ft 11in, no hip and no chest.”

Despite success in womenswear, the 20-year-old has made a name for himself modelling menswear.

Despite making billions at the box office Avatar tops the chart,

The most successful film ever to hit cinemas. with global box-office takings of £1.77 billion was Avatar but the technology blog TorrentFreak has revealed that the James Cameron blockbuster is also the most pirated film of all time.
The news makes a mockery of James Cameron's claims that 3D is the best hope for the film industry to combat piracy.

The biggest victim of piracy may well be said to be 'Kick-Ass', which clocks in at number 7 in the most-pirated chart but is the only film in the top 10 to have banked less than £64 million ($100 million) during its cinema run.

The media are reporting that official figures have shown one police sergeant earned nearly £69,000 in overtime last year, taking his pay to more than £110,000. The un-named sergeant, who was the Met's top overtime earner, was paid £68,922 on top of his basic salary of about £43,000.

He was among Metropolitan Police officers who earned a total of £109 million for working extra hours in 2010-11.

One Scotland Yard police constable received £55,186 in addition to his wages of around £31,000, the force revealed in response to a Freedom of Information request.

It is understood that the large overtime payouts went to specialist protection officers who are regularly sent overseas for work.(Jollies more like ! )

Other forces also gave their officers substantial sums for putting in additional hours, with the Police Service of Northern Ireland paying one sergeant £57,000 and a constable £43,000,

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "Overtime is called upon when it is essential to maintain operational effectiveness and, in the context of capital city policing and national responsibilities, there are times when there is a genuine need to call on officers to work beyond their scheduled hours to police unforeseen events, to provide security or public reassurance.

"The few officers receiving significant payments in respect of overtime are in roles where working time is determined by the operational circumstances.

"The Metropolitan Police Service is committed to the effective control and management of overtime in supporting the delivery of an efficient policing service and, consequently, there has been a reduction in overtime expenditure in recent financial years.".....Yes Dr Goebels !

Remember the stories about Police officers making so much overtime and living allowances during the miners strike (1970's) that they paid off their mortgages etc.....?

Well, in true tradition: Today, Sunday, Tooting High street was like an overtime hoover. 6 Police vans were cruising up and down the 1/2 mile stretch of high street. Two of the vans attended an incident in TK max and the others were driving round and round the block.

Three (yes 3) of these larger than average (Riot) vans were marked with South Yorkshire Constabulary insignia........probably a recipricate deal for the 'overtime bung' during the 1970's strikes(haha) probably the sons of those Officers ! haha.

How do the government justify such blatant abuse of the tax payers money in this way ? Oh yeah I remember.... all those lawless 'Gangs' of youths who were engaged in civil unrest........? ! ? Maybe the newspapers are misrepresenting it.... very few of the cited cases fall into the organised youth gang tag.

If we have to explain then you definitely won't understand.................................
