WooHooo! It's Friday! Not only is it the end of the work week for most people, it's also time for the fun and wonderful meme where we spend our time Looking at the Sky on Friday! (Click on the badge to join in the fun!)

I can't get enough of these gorgeous birds. I've tried and tried to get a photo of a Red Tailed Hawk sitting in a tree or on a post, but I've been unsuccessful. I have, however, been able to get photos of them as they fly over my head screaming down a warning at me. They are so beautiful!

I've been meaning to join this meme for a LONG time, but just haven't made it happen. Well, NOW I'm joining. Sure, I may be jumping in when there's only 10 more letters left in the alphabet (a.k.a. late), but I want to join, so I'm joining now.

I took this photo while Hubs and I were on our last fishing trip of the year together. *sigh* That makes me sad each time I admit it to myself. Anyway, I hadn't got any bites for awhile, so I started looking around me at the trees, the reflections in the lake, etc. I heard a little 'plop', and when I looked down, I noticed that one of the leaves in the water had eyes. hehe We played "peek-a-boo" with each other for quite awhile until he got bored with me. I'd have jumped in with him, but Hubs would have insisted I dry off before I got in the vehicle to ride home, and I didn't have one of those hand dryers with me. hehe However, if we were to have caught a great big fish, he wouldn't have hesitated to put IT in the vehicle! ahahahaha I love going fishing with Hubs!

Ten on Tuesday Internet Time Wasters

10 Ways to Waste Time on the Internet

(I should have absolutely NO trouble with this one.
I spend the majority of my life on the internet!)

1. Facebook

(Heck I could make a list of ways to waste time solely on Facebook! Farmville, Farmtown, Wordscraper, Status Updates, Bejeweled... etc, etc.)

2. IM Chatting

(I'm pretty much carrying on a conversation with someone via an instant messenger at all times I'm on the computer. I chat on AIM, Windows Live/MSN Messenger, Yahoo, Gmail, and Facebook. Yes, I probably need an intervention.)

3. E-mail Forwards

(I currently have 547 unread messages in my inbox... that's down from over 700. I get SO many of those "forwarded" e-mails, and I just don't have enough time to look at them all.)

4. Blogging

(I personally don't consider this a 'waste' of time, but it's one of the ways I spend the most time on the internet.)

5. Flickr

(See #4 above.)

6. Twitter

(I personally don't spend much time on there. It just hasn't 'clicked' for me yet, but I know a LOT of people spend a LOT of time on there)

7. Online Games

(I play all of mine on Facebook, but there are many, many online games)

8. Message Boards/Forums

(I have spent a LOT of time in a Border Collie forum and a forum created by my favorite author, Sara Donati. I've met some truly wonderful people and developed some special friendships.)

9. YouTube

(Seriously - once you start, you can't stop)

10. Online Quizzes

(Fun little quizzes which ask you questions and then tell you about yourself based on your answers)

I initially was uploading this for Macro Monday, and then I realized it would be perfect for the Mellow Yellow Monday Meme, which I've seen on some of my friends' blogs but haven't participated in yet. So, this is my first Mellow Yellow Monday post.

SOOC Sunday Berries & Bokeh

I've decided to try a new Sunday meme. It's called Straight Out Of the Camera (SOOC) Sunday. I think I'm going to really, really enjoy this meme, as the only restrictions are: You take the photo yourself and no photo alterations/manipulations are allowed other than cropping - hence the "Straight Out Of the Camera" part.

I've decided to play SOOC Sunday on both blogs. I hope that's O.K. My SOOC Sunday on my other blog has been posted for awhile.

For my first SOOC Sunday post on this blog, I chose an image I took yesterday. I really like the colors and bokeh in this image and don't feel that it requires much adjustment. So, I thought it would be perfect for this meme!

I was recovering from the flu. I thought I was better, and I decided to go for a walk, because it was a nice day. Halfway through the walk, I realized that I was really pushing myself, because I was wearing out real fast, and my legs were not cooperating.

However, I still pushed, because my theory is that if you sit and do nothing, then you definitely won't have any energy. So, I continued walking. Unfortunately, I was concentrating more on convincing my legs to carry me further than I was concentrating on my surroundings.

Usually, I'm focused on every little movement, every flash of color, every slight sound... this day, I was not so focused. That would be the reason why my heart jumped into my throat when I heard a loud ruckus almost right next to me, and then this jumped out of the woods right in front of me...

I think we were both equally surprised to see each other.
I was very grateful to see her, but was she grateful?
I'm thinking, not so much.

Lemme tell ya - humans wouldn't be worried about weight loss pills if we could all move like this! Geesh, she was F.A.S.T.!!!

I was wrong last week. It is actually THIS week which is unfortunately the last week for Heads or Tails. It has been a fun and wonderful meme from start to finish - thanks to the hard work of the HoT hostess, Barb. Thank you Barb for everything you put into this meme.

The theme for the final week of Heads or Tails is "Edge". When the coin lands on its edge, we are permitted to choose any past theme. I also happen to personally know Barb, and I know that she really enjoys when we ~~break the rules~~ think outside of the box when it comes to our Heads or Tails posts. Therefore, I'm ~~cheating~~ combining two past themes. I'm combining theme #65-Share an Autumn Memory and theme #77-A Love Story. Then, I want to say...

I like this picture. If I did it in black and white or sepia, it would probably make a really cool Halloween photo. Actually the reason I like it so much is because I took it the last time Hubs and I went fishing this year. I was sitting on a log, waiting for a bite, and I looked up and saw these trees. I thought they looked really neat with their branches sticking out everywhere against the bright blue sky.

I've got so many plans and so many ideas that I can't even get them all straight. One of the first and foremost things is to start a website to make sales. There are so many colors which would apply to me and the causes I support. The purple ribbon is a big one for me, as it represents Pancreatic Cancer (which we lost my aunt to), Alzheimer's Disease (which my grandmother who raised me suffered from for so many years), Fibromyalgia (which I have), the fight against Animal Abuse (of course I support that), and the fight against Domestic Violence (another one that I, of course, support).

I tell ya - I really wish there were a big or even a slim pill which would make these conditions go away. However, there isn't, and that's why we are needed - to support the causes and fight to find cures or put an end to violence/abuse.

I found this butterfly in my yard the other day. My first instinct is to say that it's a Swallowtail, which I'm pretty certain it is. However, it doesn't have the blues and oranges that the Swallowtails I'm used to have. So, maybe it's a different species of Swallowtail, or maybe someone just spiked my coffee this morning, and I'm talking all funny.

If I had some really cool field guides or reference books like someone and someone else I know, I'd probably be able to look this up, know for sure, and avoid sounding like a rambling dufus. hehe I'm just teasin' ya, guys... you know that, right? *running to put field guides on my Christmas list*.

Both of my Camera Critters posts this week are dedicated to the same beautiful critter... the Monarch butterfly. With work getting so hectic and the colder weather moving in, my critter photos are becoming less and less lately. However, last weekend, I saw these critters everywhere. That's because they are migrating to Mexico. Like a bird, the Monarch butterfly migrates south for the winter. Then, like a bear, the Monarch butterfly hibernates! Pretty neat, huh? Hmmm, that gives me an idea for a children's story.

It has been a long time since I have sat down at my laptop (with it's worn-out keys and all) and created a Looking at the Sky on Friday post. Actually, I haven't been doing much blogging at all lately. The past couple months became really hectic, and I have had to spend all my time and energy keeping up with the 'real life' obligations... you know, work, eating, work, sleep, work, daily responsibilities, and did I mention work? Geesh. Don't get my wrong, I love my life, but it would be so nice to have the time to focus on my true passions and be able to make something of them. Well, I still haven't given up (and I hope I never do)... one of these days, (or years), I'll be causing some of my dreams to come true. I hold on to that belief, and that's one of the reasons I chose this photo for this post... because I call it "My Dream World".

The first one is an oldie but goodie

Yes, I caught that Striped Bass and it weighed
21.4 pounds and was 37 1/4 inches long.

This next photo is from last year.
This was about an eight pound catfish.
I brought it home and let it go in our backyard pond.
I think I might have latched on to it again on Saturday,
but whatever I latched onto ended up spitting the
hook back out at me.
