My daughter is back from her vacation with my inlaws. I am happy to have her back. 2 weeks without my daughter is a bit long but i can't be selfish. I'd rather she spent her winter vacation with her grand parents than the centre loisirs. back to school for 5 weeks and then she'll leave for spring break. she's really growing up fast.

I haven't blog for the longest time. why? i lost interest in blogging? maybe but also because i've got a job in mcdonald's and it took a lot from me i was so tired every time i got home. now in september my daughter who now will turn 3 will go to school. as for me i quit mcdonald's and i will go back to school on september auxiliaire puériculture. i just want to share a photo of my daughter.

Since I am here in france i started to do sports. I guess it's the french influence here almost every body plays any kind of sport. Personally I prefer to play basketball while my husband plays american football.

The most famous sport here is football or otherwise known as soccer other sport which also interests me is baseball. I don't really know how to play volleyball but i would also like to try it.

I think that to buy your equipment online is the easiest way to acquire them just with a click of the mouse and after a week or less you have it delivered to you house. i suggest you try shopwiki online.

Ano na ba ang nangyari at ang tagal kong di nagpost dito. una dahil busy sa aking anak at asawa. pangalawa dahil nakahanap na ako ng trabaho finally. Ako ay nagtratrabaho ngayon sa Mcdonald's ok naman dun kasundo ko lahat ng tao un nga lang halos lahat ng empleyado mas bata sa kin mga estudyante. hindi ko alam kung magtatagal ako dito sa trabahong ito pero buti na rin kesa sa wala diba? at least kumikita ako kahit papaano. Natanggap ko na rin ang 10 year resident card ko at next year mag aapply na ko ng french nationality. halos 5 buwan ko ding inantay ung card ngrenew pa ko ng recepisse. May iniintay akong offer sa trabaho mas ok sana matuloy di ko muna sasabihin kung ano secret muna hahaha. ung picture sa taas ung pinakarecent photo ni laureen =D

I think that jewelry is a good idea for a gift. The value of gold is increasing as time goes by and it's a good investment. another gift idea is watches. why because it's a need plus it's also a fashion statement.

You can also give LCD tv's, video game console etc. it's up to you to choose the best one.

I haven't been able to blog for a LONG TIME many things have happened since. Last february we went to agen to visit the relatives of my husband. It was great but on our last day of stay we found out that one of his uncle was terribly sick. He had cancer. 3 weeks after we went back again to agen for the funeral. last week my husband's cousins and aunt came to visit us for the weekend.

Now laureen weighs 6kg :D not too big but not too small either. She begins to grab everything she can get her hands on then puts it in her mouth. :D She still doesn't sleep through the night. I hope she'll do so soon. I applied for her passport and i also registered her in the philippine embassy for the report of birth.

We are going to manila and we are staying for almost 2 months yey. I just hope she wouldn't get sick during our stay there.

Happy New Year everyone !

it's been more than a month since i last posted an entry here. well of course there is the holiday season and then there's laureen who is already 2 months old. Time surely flies fast :D well she doesn't sleep long hours at night yet in fact she doesn't have a rythm yet plus the fact that she need to take a gel for the "fungi" called muguet boccal. i don't think she have it but the pedia say that she should take the gel anyway.

We had my husband's aunt and uncle visit us after christmas so i am a bit busy preparing food going out etc.

update about laureen
She smiles a lot now and likes to talk she also can lift her head and body for about 3 seconds. I have a problem with her she doesn't want to drink too much from the bottle because normally i do breastfeeding and bottle. she also doesn't want to sleep in her own bed during the night. and she likes to sleep on her stomach. any suggestions and opinions on how i can make her sleep in her bed are welcome :D

i have some videos of her i just need to know how to modify because the file size is too big any suggestions? I also put her photo in a bebe casting in kiabi :D i hope you'll vote for her. I don't have a link yet but i'll post it as soon as i have it.

Time sure flies fast. I am now a mom for about a month and 2 days to be exact. I have been busy with laureen, house chores which keep on piling up talking with my sisters in the philippines. more on laureen she weighed 3.060 kg last monday when we had our first visit with the pedia. we changed her milk it's now Nidal 1 before it was pre nidal for premature babies. for a month now i still don't have a night where i slept well. she always wakes up every 3 hours to eat. the pedia told me that she will sleep straight at night when she would weigh around 4.5 kg which is 1 and half months of not sleeping for me.

my day consist of feeding her every 3 hours, cooking and house chores in between. I am in the process of finishing her faire part. I know it's late but i did it myself so it's a bit long. i try to take pictures of her when i can. I also go out with her in the village if the weather is good. she has a bit of rashes on her face but as the pedia said it's normal and it will go away. i hope so. I am always tired during the night when i am on the bed i sleep right away. It's hard during these times but i know it will be better. and anyway just one smile from her makes it all worthwile :D

She's here!!! she was born 5th day of November she weighs 2.160 and measures 41.5 cm long. she was born a month earlier than expected. I just came home from the hospital yesterday. so here's my birht story.

Nov 3
a midwife came to our house for monitoring. she usually comes 2 times a week to check for contractions. this day though there was a power black out in the department cote d'azur so we didn't finish the monitoring but she did check my blood pressure and did some urine test. she found out that i have high blood pressure and also there is high level of albumine in my urine. both symptoms of preeclampsia. so i was confined the same day. they took some blood tests and i needed to urinate in a big bottle to control the protein.

Nov.4
They woke me up at 6 am to take my shower so that they will put a gel to dilate the uterus so i can give birth naturally. i was lying in the delivery room for 3 hours before they allowed me to go up to my room.

Nov. 5
again at 6 am without eating anything i took a shower before they brought me to the delivery room to start the contractions. They put a dextrose on me so they can put the medicine to start the contraction they check every hour or so if there is a change in the uterus if it's opening or not. I had contractions but not painful ones. at around 12 noon they increased the dosage of the dextrose i had contractions but still not painful and the uterus is not yet open. so finally the doctor decided to have a cesarean. 1:50 they brought me to the operating room it was really cold there my butt hurts i was hungry and afraid at the same time. they gave me an an anesthisia similar to peridural but stronger. after 16 minutes they took out laureen and showed her to me she was in a sitting position and a really small baby but she is healthy. I didn't feel the pain but i can feel them pulling her out of my body. They closed me up and brought me to the recovery room and put laureen on me to increase her temperature. I was brought to my room 3 hours after the operation but laureen remained in the incubator for a while to keep her temperature stable. after that we ha a problem again to feed her as i want to breasfeed her and she is a small baby we need to combine bottle feeding her and breast feeding at the same time. i needed to use a electric breast pump and it really is painful more painful than my cut. hahaha

She needed 7 days before sha had a stabilized weight gain. I am hoping that it will continue. It's been a struggle since the beginning but when i look at her i know it's all worth it :D

False Alarm!!!

I spent the last weekend in the hospital. Why? It's because last saturday night my stomach was very painful at first i thought maybe i have air or the baby is moving but then when it lasted for 2 hours with my stomach becoming hard at times i asked my husband to call the emergency number in the hospital to ask if we should go there or not as i am just in my 35 S.A. the baby is not supposed to come out yet. so the mid wife or sage femme told us to come to the hospital and check. and then it is confirmed i am having contractions. They said they want to keep me overnight just to make sure i have enough rest and to make some tests so they put a dextrose on me but not after trying 3 times with a big needle and finally being successful in their fourth try using a needle for kids. The mid wife asked me if the contractions hurt i said no but the needles do hahaha. everything is ok for now I just hope she doesn't come before the end of the term.

Mushroom hunting

last saturday we went to Frejus to shop for baby stuff suddenly my husband said that he'll show me where they used to get wild mushrooms. when we arrived in the place i took a small plastic bag just in case we found some. Well let's just say we weren't disappointed we got a lot almost 6kg for just 30 minutes that we searched. The only problem is that we are not equipped and there are plants which stick to my ankles and it's itchy. another problem is that i can't bend too much because of my belly. It's a secret place and not many people go there. and finally we arrived in the store with just 30 minutes left to shop. the only consolation is that we have a bag full of delicious mushrooms.

it's a kind of edible mushroom related to cèpes.

33 weeks update

I had my ultrasound for the third trimester last monday but before that we also went to renew my resident card or "carte de sejour" which is only valid for 1 year. the requirements are the same from the previous year see my post here. we arrived in the prefecture in nice around 8:45 am the line was long i heard that some people was there since 6 am i just don't know if it's true. based from my experience last year they let the pregnant women and women with their babies in the other door so that's what i did. i waited in front of the other door and went inside while my husband waited in the line. if i didn't do it i guess we wouldn't have made it because there are only 60 numbers to be given that day. when i reached the counter we were already number 34 we finished all the process around 11:15 am. After i got the récépissé the woman in the counter told me that next year i can ask for my 10 year resident card. Yey at least i won't be pressured to take the nationality right away.

So for my ultrasound/echo my baby weighs 1.7 kg and measures 39 cm. the doctor told me that at the end of my term that she wont be 50 cm. so it's ok for me to buy clothes for naissance she would be able to wear it :D the position of her head and body is normal. head below back on the left and she's facing right. so i get all the kicks on my right side. so far we didn't decide for the name yet. I already made layouts for the faire part and i asked my sisters in the philippines to buy the materials there because i have a friend coming to nice around third week of october.
I think i am lucky with my pregnancy i don't have complications, I didn't gain a lot of weight and most important my baby is healthy :D now i just need to attend birthing classes and other appointments with the doctors and that's it. We will just be waiting for her to arrive. but while waiting i guess we'll take advantage of the time we can still do the things like watching movies, sleeping late etc.

A cat's life

This post is about our cat koala. last week i notice that there is somthing on her back it's a lump but i don't know what it is and we got worried. we took an appointment with the veterinarian. When we entered the clinic and she saw Koala the first thing she said to us is that she is obese as in overweight. she asked us what's wrong we told her about the lump and then she said it's a lump containing fats she said that it's normal since she is overweight and she said that koala should be on a diet because obesity in cats is a serious condition which may lead to diabetes and other complications.

I really liked koala this way because she looks cute. won't you agree? but we have to follow doctor's orders and put her on a diet it would be hard for me because i like to spoil her but i should do it. It's for her own good. we'll see as of now she weighs 5.4 kg and the goal is to reduce it until 4Kg in 2 months.

maybe later next year we would get another cat. a male so she would have someone to play with if i have a job. we'll see......

pregnancy week 26 (28 S.A.) updates

I know that i am being lazy. i guess ganun talaga pag buntis :)) so i just went to the doctor's clinic yesterday to have another ultrasound. It's to verify if the arteries supplying blood to my baby is fully developed and is functioning well.
I am happy to hear that everything is normal. there is just a little concern for the length of femur (supposedly the longest bone in our body) the measure of our baby's femur growth belong to "5° percentile" from what i read is that 95 percent of babies in the same age have longer femur. so the doctor asked for my husband's height and she said may be because i am filipina. my mom is only 5 feet tall anyway my inlaws are not tall either. but she confirmed again that i would have a small baby she weigh around 1kg this time. so i guess the clothes with size naissance would be used well.

I made a list de naissance just like lucille because my husband's friends keep on asking me what i want and i don't want to oblige them to give something so i think it's a good i dea to have a list just in case and since it's our first we need a lot of things for our baby yet.

pregnancy week 20 (22 S.A.)

We already know the gender of our baby :D so to begin i am already 5 months pregnant. My doctor adviced me to take the o'sullivan test. it's a test to detect early cases of diabetes in pregnant women. in my case i was asked to take the blood test in the morning without eating anything 10 hours before the test. they took a sample of my blood to compare it to my sugar levels after drinking 75g of dissolved sugar in a glass of water. It was not a good experience i feel the need to vomit. i stayed in the laboratory for 2 hours. after they took my blood again but there was a problem they can't find the vein. there were 3 people who tried to find it totalling 6 insertion of needles (OUCH!!!!)without any success. I don't know if it's me or it's them who don't know what they're doing. after that i had blue spots i my arms.

It's a girl. everybody i know is having a girl =)) she moves a lot now doing strange movements. sometimes i don't know if it's a kick or what. sleeping is getting harder. sometimes i sleep well sometimes not. she weighs 478 grams. the doctor said that she won't be a big baby around 2500 to 3000 grams. good for me i won't have a hard time for the delivery.

a month of nothingness..........

It's been a month since i last posted i guess it's being pregnant. I know i didn't post much about it so i'll start now because lucille is irking me or pushed me to post about it. so i'll just summarize it in a kind of a guide of things i learned in this stage in my life.

symptoms:
nausea - in short from my experience i feel that i want to vomit but it doesn't want to come out.
hunger - always hungry all the time as in almost every hour
sick during travel
always sleepy
always tired

vaccines needed before being pregnant:
almost all the vaccines but the 2 most important here in france especially is toxoplasmose and rubeole (german measles)
make sure you have a record of the vaccines like carnet de santé just to be on the safe side.

when i was in my 16th week of being pregnant i already felt my baby moving. it feels like a heartbeat but stronger and irregular. some people said it would feel like air in the stomach but for me it's different.

In two weeks we will know if it's a boy or a girl :D finally.

test that i already made:

test for hepa, aids, rubeole, toxo, blood type testing, urine testing for sugar and salt, trisomie 21 ( my result was 1/3600 ) and the tests i need to make yet are for diabetes.

for those who don't like needles like me i should warn you that you would have blood tests every month especially if you don't have the 2 vaccines i stated above.

so far i feel normal these days so it's great. no more nausea i am in my 19th week of pregnancy 21 weeks to go to see our future little angel :D

Baby News!

I guess by just reading the title you can already guess the subject of this post. YUP I am pregnant for 14 weeks. I guess i am already in my 2nd trimester so i am feeling a bit better I am due by the first week of december. I posted the images from my ultrasound last week. for almost 2 months i have been suffering from "morning sickness" although for me it usually occur during the afternoon or at night. my belly is growing a bit bigger and i gan=ined 2 kg in 3 months i am not sure if it's good or not but my doctor's are not complaining. When i had my echography last tuesday we didn't know yet if it would be a boy or a girl but the doctor thinks it might be a girl. but it's just a wild guess we'll see if she's right though. I want a boy. I grew up in a family where we are all girls. so i want to have a boy in the family.

We went to Haute Savoie a region in france where it usually snows. the place where we went to is in the border of Switzerland particularly the city Geneva. It was the weekend of Pacques or easter when we went here it is for the baptismal of my husband's now godson. For the 3 days we were there it snowed. So one of the firsts i experienced is having fresh snow fall in my head. It's great but i can't stay too long outside as it was really cold.

We went a bit in geneva to buy some chocolates as souvenir and at the same time see the city. it didn't snow there but it was really cold as in my i kept my hands in my pocket all the time. One thing i learned is that switzerland is more expensive than france. normally if we eat in mcdo in france we would spend around 15 to 16 euros but there for the same things we paid 47 swiss francs which is equivalent to 26 euros.

as promised here is the pic of my classmates in the formation. It's been a month since i had posted an entry here. well as i said i was very busy with school. in a month a lot of firsts happened to me. I will tell you all about it as i publish several posts after this one. The next post would be about the weekend we spent in saint julien genevois for the baptismal of my husband's god son Quentin.
