September 12, 2012 10:43 AM, Rose Garden

THE PRESIDENT: Good morning. Every day, all across the world, American diplomats and civilians work tirelessly to advance the interests and values of our nation. Often, they are away from their families. Sometimes, they brave great danger.

Yesterday, four of these extraordinary Americans were killed in an attack on our diplomatic post in Benghazi. Among those killed was our Ambassador, Chris Stevens, as well as Foreign Service Officer Sean Smith. We are still notifying the families of the others who were killed. And today, the American people stand united in holding the families of the four Americans in our thoughts and in our prayers.

The United States condemns in the strongest terms this outrageous and shocking attack. We’re working with the government of Libya to secure our diplomats. I’ve also directed my administration to increase our security at diplomatic posts around the world. And make no mistake, we will work with the Libyan government to bring to justice the killers who attacked our people.

Since our founding, the United States has been a nation that respects all faiths. We reject all efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others. But there is absolutely no justification to this type of senseless violence. None. The world must stand together to unequivocally reject these brutal acts.

Already, many Libyans have joined us in doing so, and this attack will not break the bonds between the United States and Libya. Libyan security personnel fought back against the attackers alongside Americans. Libyans helped some of our diplomats find safety, and they carried Ambassador Stevens’s body to the hospital, where we tragically learned that he had died.

It’s especially tragic that Chris Stevens died in Benghazi because it is a city that he helped to save. At the height of the Libyan revolution, Chris led our diplomatic post in Benghazi. With characteristic skill, courage, and resolve, he built partnerships with Libyan revolutionaries, and helped them as they planned to build a new Libya. When the Qaddafi regime came to an end, Chris was there to serve as our ambassador to the new Libya, and he worked tirelessly to support this young democracy, and I think both Secretary Clinton and I relied deeply on his knowledge of the situation on the ground there. He was a role model to all who worked with him and to the young diplomats who aspire to walk in his footsteps.

Along with his colleagues, Chris died in a country that is still striving to emerge from the recent experience of war. Today, the loss of these four Americans is fresh, but our memories of them linger on. I have no doubt that their legacy will live on through the work that they did far from our shores and in the hearts of those who love them back home.

Of course, yesterday was already a painful day for our nation as we marked the solemn memory of the 9/11 attacks. We mourned with the families who were lost on that day. I visited the graves of troops who made the ultimate sacrifice in Iraq and Afghanistan at the hallowed grounds of Arlington Cemetery, and had the opportunity to say thank you and visit some of our wounded warriors at Walter Reed. And then last night, we learned the news of this attack in Benghazi.

As Americans, let us never, ever forget that our freedom is only sustained because there are people who are willing to fight for it, to stand up for it, and in some cases, lay down their lives for it. Our country is only as strong as the character of our people and the service of those both civilian and military who represent us around the globe.

No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character, or eclipse the light of the values that we stand for. Today we mourn four more Americans who represent the very best of the United States of America. We will not waver in our commitment to see that justice is done for this terrible act. And make no mistake, justice will be done.

But we also know that the lives these Americans led stand in stark contrast to those of their attackers. These four Americans stood up for freedom and human dignity. They should give every American great pride in the country that they served, and the hope that our flag represents to people around the globe who also yearn to live in freedom and with dignity.

We grieve with their families, but let us carry on their memory, and let us continue their work of seeking a stronger America and a better world for all of our children.

Thank you. May God bless the memory of those we lost and may God bless the United States of America.

Romney supporters have, for many months, asserted that the world has become a far more dangerous place since Barack Hussein Obama assumed the presidency, and recent events in Benghazi prove it. President Obama’s head-in-the-middle-east-sand strategy for dealing with radical Islamic terrorism, which depends upon denying that it even exists, has proven fatal to four of our diplomats in Libya. As we learn more about the continuing attacks against our embassies in the middle east, it has become apparent that all is not what it seems.

Mohammed... or "George?"

First, it was widely reported in the media that the amateurish film that sparked the phony Islamic outrage against our embassies was produced by “Sam Basile”, an obvious pseudonym that sounds a lot like imbecile. The purported film-maker was reported to be an Israeli American Jew, a real-estate developer who raised the $5 million needed to produce the film from over a hundred Jewish donors. This would come as a surprise to anyone who saw the 14-minute video purported to be a film trailer, but which may actually be all there is. The lower-than-low-budget production looks as if the production cost was closer to $50 than $5 million.

Then came news that Sam Basile was actually Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, 55 years old, and a Coptic Christian from southern California serving probation for committing bank fraud. One of his cohorts in the production and promotion of the film was Mr. Steve Klein. Klein is a former U.S. Marine and the founder of a group calling themselves Courageous Christians United, which conducts demonstrations outside abortion clinics, Mormon temples and mosques. Klein has also been identified by the Associated Press as the individual who falsely identified film producer ”Sam Basile” as an Israeli Jew.

Nakoula Basseley Nakoula (a.k.a. Sam Bacile)

Some of the actors and actresses who appear in the film have claimed that the film they performed in had nothing to do with Mohammed, or Muslims at all, for that matter. One claims the character identified as “Mohammed” in this latest version of the film was actually called “George” during filming. Even a cursory viewing of the film reveals that their performances were overdubbed with new dialog to make it appear they were making references to Mohammed.

The amateurish production begs several crucial questions. Who financed the production of the film? If the financing of this film was nothing more than a financial con job by Nakoula, why produce the film at all when he could have skipped it and kept all of the investors’ money? And who were these investors, initially misidentified as wealthy Jews? Lastly, how did the film get dubbed into Arabic, by whom, and most importantly, why? Is it possible that this film was produced specifically for the purpose of inciting world-wide violence against U.S. interests? It’s beginning to look more and more likely.

As if these mysteries surrounding this dopey film weren’t enough, a series of revelations about our government’s (non)response to the crisis have raised far more troubling questions.

For starters, certain media outlets have reported that President Obama skipped his daily intelligence briefings in the week leading up to the embassy attacks. Others have reported that President Obama went to bed on September 11th, knowing that the embassy was under attack, and not knowing whether Ambassador Stevens was dead or alive. Then came reports that our Ambassador to Egypt, Anne Patterson, “did not permit US Marine guards to carry live ammunition” on September 11. This report – which purportedly came from the Marines involved themselves – has been denied by the Pentagon, but bears looking into.

The Jerusalem Post and other sources are now reporting that the White House received a warning from Egyptian intelligence on September 4th that attacks on our embassies were imminent. The Obama administration did nothing in response to those warnings. Unnamed senior diplomatic sources has also claimed that our State Department had 48 hours warning of the impending attacks, but did nothing to increase security or remove personnel from potential harm’s way.

In the Arabic media, reports have surfaced claiming that Ambassador Stevens was sexually raped and killed by gunmen after being dragged from the Embassy grounds in Benghazi. (Source website is in Arabic, use Google Translate). The tentative official version of events is that Stevens was dragged from the embassy grounds by good samaritans who took him to a hospital, where he later died of asphyxiation or smoke inhalation.

Every hour seems to bring new and ever more alarming revelations, and the crisis is far from over, even now. Yet, what has been the response to the crisis by the Obama administration? Their response has been to condemn not the radical Islamic terrorists, but to condemn Mitt Romney!

Yes, you heard right. The animals who burned our embassy and killed our Ambassador, along with three other members of the embassy staff, aren’t the enemy…. Governor Mitt Romney is. Analyst and commentator Ben Stein exposes the hypocrisy of this White House, writing in The American Spectator:

“… An al Qaeda mob attacks the U.S. Mission in Benghazi, Libya, burns it, kills the U.S. Ambassador and three other heroic American diplomats. Again, in a classic al Qaeda move, it is all timed perfectly to infuriate the USA. It isn’t spontaneous. It was 9/11, for Pete’s sake. No comment from Mr. Obama except terse condolences. Then along comes Governor Romney, who rightly says, “Hey, why are we appeasing an al Qaeda mob? Why aren’t we calling these guys the vicious killers that they are? Why are we back in this apology to bad guys mode?”

“Then, and only then, the Obama White House goes into hyper drive. It turns out that the real problem is not al Qaeda. No, and it’s not Mr. Obama’s appeasement. No, the real threat to America is (wait for it), Mitt Romney. Yes!!! According to White House uber-pal, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, Romney is working with the terrorists against the U.S. government by calling for criticism of the al Qaeda! Yes, Romney is the enemy for pointing out that Mr. Obama is ass kissing the terrorists!”

“This is terrifying. The media line up to get their marching orders from the Obama Ministry of Truth and suddenly it’s Gospel: the problem is not al Qaeda. It is Romney. With a “more in sorrow than in anger…” look and tone, Mr. Obama pities Romney’s naïveté. This is disgusting. It is nauseating. This is what happens when you have a one-party media. The lie becomes the truth. George Orwell saw it coming.”

Ben Stein is right. Mitt Romney is not the enemy for pointing out the truth, and by obscuring it, the Obama administration has proven that it is not our friend. The American people are being lied to, and while that phenomenon isn’t exactly new, the reasons for it are. Barack Obama fiddles while the middle east burns, and the reasons for it are incontrovertible. He sees his role as the grand facilitator of the rise of a world-wide Islamic empire that rivals anything the British ever dreamed of.

Commit these days and events well to memory. Some years from now, we’ll look back upon them as the nascent stages of the inevitable Islamic World War.

By Leah Christie.

It’s been over a week since Mitt Romney announced Paul Ryan as his VP running mate. It was a very wise decision, in my opinion, as proved by the incredible spikes of positive momentum gained by America’s Comeback Team, which many of us have dubbed as “R2″. Yes, it’s no secret that the Left is now on defense and personally, it felt invigorating to exhale, enjoy the gained advantages and celebrate. Another unseen benefit is we no longer need to expend energy and time speculating upon the VP pick.

I hate to be a buzz-kill, but there is a clock that is ticking down to our day of reckoning and our moment of truth, which comes on Election Day, Tuesday, November 6, 2012. As of this writing, there are exactly 80 days, 1,924 hours, 115,442 minutes and 6926553 seconds remaining. It’s time to get serious or in my case, ratchet up my own focus on what it’s going to take to elect R2, win the majority in the Senate and increase our seats in the House.

It’s also critically important to consider other potential obstacles, the kind that may appear to be completely out of our control. A hero of mine, Gordon B. Hinckley, a once shared a wise piece of experience-earned advice in the last years of his long, long life: “Hope for the best, plan for the worst”. There is not a scenario yet that I have found that his sage principle does not apply to and it dove-tails in an interesting way the following quote from Founding Father and the first Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court, John Jay, “They who sail in hurricane seasons and latitudes should be prepared and vigilant”.

Are we in such a season to look around and be wise to what has taken place? Just look at last week. While the news cycles hit all that was due to be covered in most of the American media over the 7 days since the announcement of R2, the rest of the world continued to turn and I noticed a what I think is a bothersome trend in incidents of rage and violence. The acts I am speaking of were all reported on by the media in varying degrees. Here is a question I’ve contemplated of late, maybe you’ve thought about it too: Has the effective politico strategy, drilled in by former Obama Chief of Staff & current Chicago mayor, Rahm “Machiavelli” Emmanuel, “Never waste a crisis. It can be turned to joyful transformation”, been retired? We’d be fools to assume so.

Speaking of “things that make you go ‘hmmmm’”, have you seen the movie, “2016: Obama’s America” yet? I hope you will go see it and consider what Dinesh D’Souza and his team have documented. Because I have seen the movie, I find myself more concerned than ever over recent tragic and disturbing news.

Sadly and instinctively, the week of August 12-18th, 2012, left me with a heightened concern over the more than usual number of pages that will make up a thick volume of world history, logging headlines, images and stories that disclose deeply disturbing, horrific violence, threats of coming violence and incidents of political unrest that warn of potential future violence. Those 3 distinct sub-chapters will include details of at least the following:

1. Hell on earth that happened over that last 7 days in places of chaos.
Johannesburg: http://www.smh.com.au/world/mine-massacre-more-than-30-miners-killed-in-south-africa-20120817-24c70.html

Syria: http://www.breitbart.com/Breitbart-TV?id=%7BD5A87E5F-F86C-4FE2-8489-23CAEE493322%7D&title=Megyn-Kelly-Breaks-Down-Over-Child-Injured-In-Syrian-Attack

2. Hell on earth for the near future is being planned and boldly, yet again, by unhinging tyrannies.
Egypt: http://www.wnd.com/2012/08/arab-spring-run-amok-brotherhood-starts-crucifixions/

3. And, in the queue, on the back burner, noted flares went up between opposing groups and/or governments, which may work to inflame & transform those unresolved simmering problems to full-blown conflicts:
*Israel and Iran *England, Argentina and the Balkan Isles. *England and Ecuador *China and Japan

Meanwhile, credible election polls show the numbers tightening up and the Obama camp sounds more desperate with every day. The anxiety I personally endure is egged on by that countdown clock I mentioned earlier, which stares me down. From the time I started this post, my pendulum has swung from there is not a second for the Right to waste to there is entirely too much time on the clock for Barack Obama to use. 80 days, 1922 hours, 115331 minutes & 6919910 seconds, from this post to be exact.

Update: Please pardon my editing to publishing time lapse. The current count down time is 74 days, 21 hours, 49 minutes and 30 seconds-ish.

These are my reasons that Paul Ryan was an excellent pick for Mitt Romney:

1. Mitt Romney is considered a RINO or a moderate Republican by many conservatives. Paul Ryan delivers immediate conservative credability to the ticket for many, many conservatives within the base. In fact, judging from the size of the crowds recently at the campaign stops, Paul Ryan has obviously succeeded in energizing conservatives.

2. It was a bold choice for a candidate such as Romney who is seen as someone who constantly plays it safe politically. Paul Ryan has demonized by the left on many occasions because of his detailed plans to help bring America’s fiscal insanity back to order that involves the entitlement reform we have seriously needed for years. Rather than sit back and play it safe, Romney is showing America that he is serious about changing the direction of the country with choice for VP that has shown time and time again his seriousness of addressing these issues through legislation rather than talk.

3. Paul Ryan is not Rob Portman or Condi Rice. Paul Ryan is a young, good-looking, and energetic Republican. Portman and Rice are neither. First of all, Republicans really do show they have absolutely no idea about the black community when they think someone like Condi Rice will help with the black vote. The black people who vote for Obama are largely uneducated and by uneducated I mean people who vote based on skin color. That is possibly the most ignorant reason to vote or not vote for any candidate and therefore I can only assume that particular voter to be uneducated. Furthermore, Rob Portman is a boring, old man. He doesn’t excite minorities nor the base so what exactly would he add to the ticket? The independents? The indies are an important bloc of voters, but we’re betting on the front of the ticket to help with those voters.

3a. This is an extension of number 3. Paul Ryan guarantees the majority of conservatives will actually vote. Paul Ryan gives many conservatives a reason to go to the polls. So many people have told me that the conservatives would have fallen in line to vote for Romney no matter what and that is the absolute wrong attitude. Sure, we can’t stand Obama, but that doesn’t justify not giving conservatives something to vote FOR rather than only having someone to vote AGAINST. Rather than plug their noses, now many conservatives will actually be fired up to go to the polls in November and with that passion comes most importantly, MORE CONSERVATIVE VOLUNTEERS. Conservatives would NOT volunteer for a Romney/Rice or Romney/Portman ticket, but they are more likely to volunteer for a Romney/Ryan ticket. Besides, who do you think was going to go get those middle indie votes that you’re so worried about? Romney can’t knock on all of those doors or make those phone calls all on his own.

4. Paul Ryan is a policy wonk. On top of being a young, good-looking, energetic Republican, Ryan is also a very intelligent and an articulate policy wonk. Paul can apply conservative principles when drafting policy and explain it to the American people in an understandable fashion.

5. Paul Ryan is fearless. This man has been maligned, demonized, and defamed by the liberal media and liberal politicians for years. How has he reacted? He has faced it all with the smile and this has given him a tough, thick skin which means that he’s ready to go to battle in this election. The fact that he is fearless shows that he has an eternal faith in the Almighty and has complete faith in his understanding of the issues of the day.

6. Paul Ryan shows that Romney is listening to conservatives. Romney could have taken another candidate like a Jeb Bush who was a fairly conservative governor or Florida and simply touted his conservatism to the public in an attempt to sell conservative voters. That would have been a huge setback and mistake of the campaign. Instead. Romney chose to listen to conservatives in that we wanted a solidly conservative Republican and then ends up choosing a guy that without a shadow of a doubt will be heavily involved in shaping the policy agenda of the Romney administration. He didn’t choose a conservative who will simply play the role of the counterpart of Joe Biden, but rather a conservative whom he will rely on for his advice and counsel going forward.

7. Paul Ryan scares the hell out of the democrats. It’s not his articulated views, campaign style, debate tactics or even his ability to energize the campaign that scare them. It’s the fact that they find his views so out of touch, out of the mainstream, and extreme, but he’s still able to draw crowds anywhere from 5,000 to 15,000 in key states such as North Carolina, Wisconsin, and Iowa. Joe Biden can’t carry a crowd of even 700 in North Carolina. They simply can’t understand why a guy with such “extreme” views can draw so many people and when you don’t understand something, it’s completely out of your control. That’s a very frightening though for the democrats. What’s worse is that Paul Ryan has even re-energized Mitt Romney himself on the campaign trail. Obama couldn’t outraise Romney without Paul Ryan so now what is he going to do?

and last,

8. Paul Ryan gives hope for the future of the Republican Party. Should Romney win and get two terms as President, Paul Ryan will be the presumptive Republican nominee for President in 2020 around the young age of 50 or 51. Therefore, Romney would have set the future of the party with a guy that conservatives are excited about and Paul Ryan looked to be poised enough to carry that torch, but of course time will tell the whole story.

#5- It provides tax break for “millionaires and billionaires”

No it doesn’t.

Nobody ever talks about the fact that government does not have a revenue problem. It has a spending problem. What the Ryan budget does do is close tax loopholes and eliminates deductions that are disproportionately used by the wealthy. It collapses all the existing tax brackets into two, a 25% bracket, and a 10% bracket. This approach raises revenue while at the same time lowering individual tax rates. It takes a step in the direction of a flat tax while maintaining some level of progressivity. Its smart, well administered government.

#4 – It privatizes and destroys Social Security

Again, no it doesn’t

Ryan’s 2013 budget does not make any specific recommendations on Social Security. It simply points out that Social Security will soon be insolvent. However, the 2012 budget, which did include specifics, made no change for those currently over 55. For those younger than 55 it gave them an option. “To either stay in the traditional government-run system or to enter a system of guaranteed personal accounts. Neither option is privatized. In the personal-accounts system, the accounts are owned by the individual, and managed and overseen by Social Security — not a stockbroker or private investment firm. People choosing the reformed system select from a handful of low-risk, government-regulated options — just as Members of Congress and Federal employees do.” (1)

#3- It balances the budget on the backs of the poor and elderly.

No- it doesn’t

Seeing a pattern yet?

Ryan’s budget makes ZERO changes for anyone older than 55. Your Grandma in Tampa is going to get the same benefits that all other current seniors do. Further, it ensures that social safety net’s solvency by restructuring Medicaid and Medicare for future generations. Under President Obama’s plan it would simply just go bankrupt one day.

#2- It is radical and untenable for the system

No- it is not.

The budget makes no change to Medicare until 2022. The age of eligibility would then begin to increase by two months per year until it reached 67 in 2033. Can you think of a way to make it more gradual and keep it from collapsing? No, and the Democrats can’t either.

#1- It ends Medicare as we know it

Yes, but not for ten years.

As previously mentioned, The Ryan Budget makes no change to Medicare until 2022.

“After that, the current Medicare program ends for all people who have not already enrolled. People already enrolled in the current Medicare program prior to 2022 would continue to receive the program. New enrollees after 2022 would be entitled to a voucher to help them purchase private health insurance.
Beneficiaries of the voucher payments would choose among competing private insurance plans operating in a newly established Medicare exchange. Plans would have to insure all eligible people who apply and would have to charge the same premiums for enrollees of the same age. The voucher payments would go directly from the government to the private insurance companies that people selected.” (2)

by Thomas Wilkes

Isn’t it odd how people can question Romney’s time at Bain and never question what, if any, business experience Obama has had? Own a business? No. Run a business? No. Manage a business? No. Work at any real business? No.

Let’s compare that to Mitt Romney. Per the Washington Post, Bain Capital participated in about 80 leveraged buyouts during the Romney era, and just eight of the companies filed for bankruptcy, a phenomenal 90% record of success. And, of those 8 companies, says the Post, “It’s a stretch to say Bain ‘drowned’ these companies in debt; a combination of forces besides debt led to insolvency for these companies.” As for job creation, well, that was not Bain’s direct focus, but, indirectly, says the Post, Bain created an incalculably large number of net new jobs for the U.S. economy.

Obama has based his entire reelection campaign on a vicious, dishonest assault on Mitt Romney’s business career at Bain, but if Bain Capital is so bad, why has Obama taken $120,000 in donations from them? One of Obama’s top campaign financiers – Jonathan Lavine – is managing director at Bain, bundling another $100,000 to $200,000 for Obama in 2012 contributions. And then there are all those political payoffs, too numerous to list. The stimulus, itself, was never anything but a political slush fund, and the cronyism within Obama’s record of public equity is the real story, not Romney’s stellar career in private equity.

Mitt Romney often does good deeds when the cameras are not on him, such as the time when he showed up (without reporters) to help fire victims clear land in San Diego during the 2008 campaign, or the time he saved six people and their dog from drowning in the middle of the night on Lake Winnepesaukee, or the time he closed down the entire Bain firm and asked all 30 partners and employees to fly to New York to try to find the missing daughter of one of his business partners. The action ended up saving her life. He has raised a fine family and has supported a wife through medical Hell. He also ran the Olympic Games and served as governor of Massachusetts without taking a salary for either. It is time to stop impugning his character. Sure, he’s wealthy, but where is 95% of Mitt Romney’s money? No, it is not in the Cayman Islands or in Switzerland. It is invested in companies who employ millions of people just like you and me.

Democrats need to get off the politics of personal destruction. This election is about bigger things.

Another incident of senseless, horrific evil has taken place. Families are mourning, families are wrought with grief, families are standing vigil right now at hospitals, families are trying to comfort their children who were there in that theater & survived the nightmare. Families are praying. People are sending their prayers and condolences. There is the yearning to reach out and squeeze a shoulder, hug a friend, pull our loved ones close.

The very typical, predictable reactions are also happening. What are the answers to this evil and all crimes? Consequence is a logical deterrent and justice, one way or another, is a given. But there is always more we can do, the question is what, what would work best? Is it possible to prevent all evil? No.

Take away guns, knives, bombs, cars, poison, candle sticks, the jaw bone of the ass and every other weapon known to man kind and we are left with men & women with the physical strength to still assault or kill another person. All the measures of man to try and control the action’s of man will never be found to be 100% effective. As humans, we are inclined to defend & protect ourselves, our property & our freedoms against an aggressor. It is human nature to experience the on-going war of good vs. evil that has existed all along.

This past Wed. night, after helping conduct an Eagle Board of Review, I was discussing the “smash-mob” reported incident that took place in Florida, allegedly involving 300 youth, with a trusted friend in law enforcement. This person never fails to teach me some valuable needed lesson when lending me personal expertise & experience to consider. I asked my friend, at this point of man’s existence, shouldn’t people know better by now, just the basics of decent humanity? The response given to me, though I know it to be true & sadly wise, troubled me, that no, even since the beginning of time, there are still those whose hearts end up waxing so cold, that there is no regard for human life, personal property or law.

As I ponder on these heavy things weighing on my mind, I know there will be those who feel helpless. They ask, is there anything that can be done, beyond the consequences of earthly justice, that can be done to help decrease those numbers of people who may end up with such stone cold hearts, prone to commit evil against others?

Experience has taught me and my faith compels me to conclude that the most effective measure is for as many of us who are willing to turn our hearts to our Father in Heaven and to also to our children as we proceed in our life’s journey & endure the battles of our lives, that this action of having our own hearts changed will make a far greater difference than any other measure. Our example bears untold positive influence on one another. I believe with all of my heart, soul & mind in the end, evil will be conquered and good will prevail, and that we may choose for ourselves which side we want to be on, that we may be comforted in our trials, find sincere peace in Christ our Savior and know by way of His spirit, that we are each children of invaluable worth of our Heavenly Father who is waiting to help us & wants us back.
