2007 My very first mermaid painting. Ever!

2007, This was a self portrait of my and my husband. It actually hung in a cafe for almost a year, then they closed.

Progress. Each year my art gets better, and better. The very first painting I ever did on canvas was of a purple robot, that was in 2006. I still have it, and will probably always keep it, and display it! Each year brings new excitement to my art. I finally feel as I can draw, and I'm okay at it. Lately I've been using a drawing manikin, and I surprise myself how good I have gotten.

I am an artist. Why is it so hard to say that? Am I the only one that has trouble with it? Maybe it's so hard because we don't want to be vulnerable. We need to get rid of that fear! Seriously, look how far I've come. The first 3 images are hard to show people, I'm kind of shy about showing you my first paintings.

I can't wait to see what the future holds for my art.

Blythe, Embroidery, and Breaking Dawn

I made this fall themed outfit for my blythe the other day. It's alot easier to sew real people clothes. Sewing doll clothes can be frusterating! I like perfect hem lines, and when sewing tiny doll clothes you have to use a tiny iron! I'm always scared i'm going to burn myself!

I have a new blythe doll coming home to me soon! She's in the mail right now! I bought Simply Guava to go with my Simply Mango. This will be my 4th Blythe doll! I have 12 Petite blythe dolls. Now I need some Middies!

I've been into embroidery lately! I love making my own drawings on fabric with thread! It's totally amazing! It takes me awhile to finish because i'm now, but I love it! I've created some embroidered ATC's! Fabric ATC's are so much fun to create!

That's pretty much what i've been doing lately. I'm very, very excited because in just a week Breaking Dawn will be out! We already have our tickets!! I know that it's ending though, which is saddening. But I will always have Forks! Forks is the tiny little town Bella and Edward live in. In washington state, were I live. We go there every year, and every year it get's harder, and harder to leave! Walking in the forest in Forks, and La Push feels like you're in the movie, in some magical world with vampires and werewolves!

Halloween is almost here! Hopefully most people are not like me, and they already know what they are going as. I keep changing my mind, or I pick something, and they realize the fake blood i'd use would freeze on me. We always go to a Halloween party that is outside in the natural october fog that we have in the northwest. And I'd like to sew my own costume, so I guess I better start!

With Halloween slowly ending, so has my little cute horror paintings. Now I'm starting with Christmas! It's another one of my favorite Holiday's.

I plan on updating my blog more often, I know I always say that. But this time, I will!

And to leave you with one of my most favorite Halloween movies ever! Trick 'r' Treat! It's a throwback to the old classics. There are hot chick werewolves, A horrific principal, A grumpy old man, A halloween Hater, and some cruel kids that play an evil joke. It's wicked, and funny. I love this movie! I watch it all the time, even when it's not Halloween!

This is what is behind me while I paint. I like having cute stuff all around me. It inspires me to create more! It makes me happy. Some time's little thing's make you the happiest.

Art that isn't on canvas!

I've been making alot of art around here lately! I made these little boxes. They are from prints of my artwork, and I just embellished the boxes with paint, alcohol ink, and gems!

I love painting on wood. It's totally different than canvas.. in a way, I kind of prefer it!

And of course another halloween piece! This is a little wooden art doll. Tiny findings I found on my desk, and in random drawers. You can really use anything for these. The grass is glitter! I wish I had glitter grass in real life! How amazing would that be! The house was made from a pattern I drew myself, and cut from cardboard. I'm making more of these! And i'm excited for Christmas themed one's!

"Frank and his Bride"

More Halloween paintings! Last year I was very late with my Halloween illustrations, and it made me sad! This year i'm getting them done early! So around Halloween, I'll be working on Christmas! And around Christmas, i'll be working on Valentine's! It makes the holiday's last longer.

Along with illustrations, i'm also working on cute little photographs! The little pumpkins were purchased at Hobby Lobby in the dollhouse section! I love how whimsical they are. I want to do a dollhouse with a spooky theme!

Halloween

I'm starting to get ready for Halloween! It's my most favorite holiday, and this year i'm doing so many painting's inspired by the spooky awesomeness that is Halloween!

This year, we are going to Las Vegas. We wanted to go in August... but I figured it's going to be too hot, and in October we are able to go to Fright Dome! How exciting! I can't wait. Soon i'll be getting ready for Christmas! I plan on doing a couple of show's or bazaar's this year. I haven't done one in 3 years! It's time for me to get back and show the local's my art!

The Girl and the Pink House

This is my newest painting. I stretched regular canvas onto an embroidery hoop. It was alot of fun creating. You do need alot of layers of clear gesso and "Canvas tite". It was so different than using a ordinary canvas. Sometimes you just HAVE to be different. I was really tired of painting on the same ol', same ol'.

I love the scene that i've painted. I like to paint scenes of thing's that I want to do, or be, or see. My dream is to buy a bright pink house, and have a bright red door. And I know that I will have that someday. I will live in my dream-like-land. It's not happening today, but it will.

I want to live a fabulous life everyday. I want everyday to matter. You know you only get a certain amount of time on earth, and after that you're dead. And if you believe like I do, you won't be on earth. You'll be in heaven, and in heaven you don't need earthly things... which is why you need to make your life matter.

If you make art with an embroidery hoop i'd love to see it!

These are my favorite colors lately. Pink, Yellow, and Blue/teal. It gives me a very summer feeling. I'm currently working on a painting using only these color's. These color's make me think of popsicles and riding my bike in the summer, and hanging out downtown with all the "crazies" as my husband and I like to call them.

This was painted on watercolor paper, I used acrylic and watercolor paint, and the table, and cake's are all paper. I also used star confetti. I sealed it with beeswax.

I bought some new pink organizer's! I love everything pink. It makes me what to create more. I never really thought of myself as a 'girly' person but pink is my favorite color! One day when I buy a house it will be pink, and have a red door. And It will be in the forest. That's what would make me happy, and everyday I work hard to get there.

I also bought a new Hello Kitty pen. I realized I didn't have a normal ink pen because they are all for making art, so I just bought it. And I love hello kitty. Seriously who doesn't love Hello Kitty?

I've also been working on trying to get a new print on my etsy everyday!! I've been painting like crazy! I wish I had more artistic friends here. They are all online. Maybe one day i'll find somebody to paint with.

In other new's... we spent the day in Walla Walla, Wa. on Sunday. It's nice there. We were planning on moving there because it's about the same commute time to my husband's job, but thing's happend so we ended up staying here. Now at the end of the summer we will be moving to an apartment. It will be nice living alone again. Right now we live with my mom, and brother. We were ready to leave and then my dad passed away and my mom needed help. I've felt so guilty about wanting to leave the entire time, but no more. I don't think I could ever live with anybody beside's my husband again.

While cleaning out our storage I found some old photo's i've taken. The one of me is taken with a disposable camera, and the rest were taken with a polaroid. 600 film. I wish it was still sold.

Now my camera of choice is a Nikon D3000.

So this last weekend we took our pug charlie to the park. It's still cold weather outside, but charlie jumped into the river! It was so funny.

The weather in Washington is starting to warm up. I'm okay with warm, but I strongly dislike hot! Luckily for me it doesn't stay hot that long!

I've been working on alot of new artwork.. Mostly Alice in Wonderland themed, and circus themed! You can check them out on my etsy attackoframpage.etsy.com I'm also having a sale! So I have alot of art supplies. I needed something hold it right? Well I've seen these before, but usually they are made out of glass. I used plastic plates, and glass jars. The awesomet thing about it is, it only cost me about $3 dollars to make, I jar's I already had. I bought these really cute plates at a thrift store!

Materials you need are:

-3 plates. Use hard plastic, if it's soft and bendable it won't work.

-2 Glass jars. You can use cups to, just make sure they will be sturdy enough to hold your stuff. I liked the jar's because I can still unscrew them and put cute little things inside.

-Hot Glue gun.

Make sure the plates and jars are clean. Then find the middle of two of the plates and mark the spot. Then add alot of hot glue! Let it dry before adding anything to it. It's that simple!

"Stir" she's stirring cake mix! Hot pink cake mix! I love adding hot pink food coloring to my cake's and cupcakes. Pink is my favorite color. My hair is even pink!

This is another pink haired girl doodle. I did this while sitting at starbuck's during a rainy sunday.

Pink, orange, and green are some of my most favorite color's to use together.

This was a Happy moment for me. I was boarding the "Spirit of Seattle" for a mini cruise... My husband took the picture so it's not the greatest! lol..

There has been a lot of stress in my life lately.. My dad passed away in December. And it feels as if everything has changed in my life. We just needed a short break from life. We drove to Seattle.. it's only about a 3 hour drive from where we live... It was alot of fun.

Life is alway's going to be full of stress. I try to deal with it the best way I can. From the ages 14-18 I suffered from depression.. sometimes I still do. I don't think it ever 100% goes away. I'm glad that i'm able to "get" away sometimes. I think i'd loose my mind if I couldn't. This summer we are "getting" away to Las Vegas! I'm pretty excited. I don't gamble or drink or party.. lol.. But I think that it will be fun. I've always wanted to play the slot machines. I know i'll loose.. but I won't spend more than $20 on it!

In December we have are second vacation and we are flying to Hawaii! This is the trip i'm excited about. Like I said my dad passed away on Dec. 15th.. So christmas was really hard.. This christmas I'll be in Hawaii! I'm not staying here for sure! I can't be here.. I don't think I can handle it. It might sound selfish but I don't care, I need to get away.

We are also going to try to make it back to Forks! We loved it there so much. We are planning a hiking trip. Last year we hiked down to the beach and going back up was phsyically so hard. This time it won't be so hard, because I workout now! I go to the gym about 5 day's a week! So i'm ready to do this! I might even try to hike higher!

Rorschach is my favorite comic book/graphic novel character ever! Him and Batman. I've seen Watchmen so many times! This was just a fast sketch, and then I used watercolor crayons for the hat, and jacket. For the ban around the hat I used Liquitex ink.

This is for Illustrationfriday.com word "burning" when I think of burning I think of red. There for Belva's hair is red.

This is on 18x24 canvas. Her skirt is from fabric I found at a thrift store. I had enough to make a new apron with it! I still have alot more. Maybe i'll make a skirt for me!

So thanksgiving is next week. It's crazy how fast time goes by. My birthday is on thanksgiving. It's kind of cool. I just hope this year is better than last year. As depressing as it, last year I went to a funeral on my birthday. There was a suicide in our family. It was really hard to deal with, it's been almost a year. On the 20th it will be a year. It really does feel like he's going to be attending thanksgiving, and christmas parties.. But I know that's not true.

I hope everybody has a good holiday!

"She spent her time catching stars"

My illustration is a painting i've been working on. All these paintings i've been working on are 18'x20'.. I like working on the larger pieces. There is alot more space to add cute little houses, or bunnies! The pictures are bad.. I have very bad lighting in my room. All my stuff.. except my art stuff is in moving boxes. I'm excited to move soon! It's hard finding a good apartment. We aren't ready to buy a house yet, we figure we will do that when we have babies... so not for a long time. :)

I like this one alot. "Marie and Friends" I wish it would be acceptable to wear fluffy dresses like this all the time.. I totally would.

And this is me. I have a hard time sleeping, so I do random things. I'm a little crazy.. but I think there should be more crazy people. People are just way to serious!

Spooky

This is my Illustration for 'Spooky'.

It makes me feel more in the Halloween spirit. I've already put up fake spider webs, and a frankenstein cut-out on the door. I've carved pumpkins. I can't wait until halloween!

We are going to a halloween party this year, my husband andrew is going as Dr. Frank-n-furter from Rocky Horror Picture Show. And i'm going as Bride of Frankenstein. It's kind of like I switched franks! lol.
