starting with turntables is very ambitious, i really suggest using CD decks they are a lot more forgiving and very helpful to those who are just getting started. most allow you figure your beats per minute at the tap of a button. i hope you understand that this is going to be a process and is not something you are going to learn overnight. i don't mean to insult your intelligence.if i did i am sorry. most of us here have been perfecting our craft for over ten years, me, i am 18 years in to the game. this is a support forum, i suggest you look over, the links Andre has set up in the previous post, as well as check out the tips and tutorial section of this forum. also go to the music section, in any neighborhood bookstore, and you can also learn a lot from any theoretical book there. and whatever you do do not read deejaying for dummies. let us know when you are up and rolling. peace.

Oh snaps... I read that book last summer

Why do you consider djing for dummies as a "whatever you do, don't read that book" ?

@KayosKaide, here is a topic where one of our master DJs taught many of us the importance of Flow in our mixes. Even when playing for a live crowd or just creating a good mix set. Of course after understanding now how to group certain songs together--harmonic and tempo isn't the only things to look for. Flow is the most important element for any DJ to master. Try to read all the posts here when DJ Andre and Jeff Marco talk about Flow. Here is the link to your first Flow lesson

But keep in mind that you must have a certain time (longer membership status) and post count in order to add your signature links and other stuff that usually spammers like to do on their first time registering. It's all in the forum Rules and it explains why these conditions were put into affect.

In other words, if you still have a newbie status here at MOB, there is little profile information that you can provide in your profile.

What I enjoy is being able to dictate and make my own playlist. I used to purchase lots of mixes, and now I have the ability to make my own to whatever my heart desires. Of course, now with the tutelage from the experts here at MOB, I have more discipline on how I set up a playlist.

But now I think the thing that I mostly enjoy is finding a difficult transition and learning how to make it work.

and what i love the most about mixing is the music itself...

for me, nothing can beat the deep and steady bass of a rave set...

i'd wanna plug that dirrectly into my veins as well as the lovely singing of a beautiful female voice in trance

(shout out -> Nova Zembla - Armin Van Buuren remix) gives me the chills every time ... just BEAUTIFUL !
Go to Mixed in Key official forums and ask that question. I am pretty sure they know how to make it work so that Traktor can read that information.

Hi everyone my name is Kyle, i'm 20 y/o, i'm addicted to the rave scene/music, I just LOVE all kinds of electronic music...
I recently bought myself a traktor audio 10 with two MKII control vinyls and two kontrol x1.
I got two tecnics sl-1200 MK2 and two Pioneer CDJ-400 (using those with timecode CDs as well) and finaly, my mixer is a Pioneed DJM3000.

Enough with the gear talk (i love gear talk!) sorry haha

I am also entering university into biochemistry this year (just finished college into pure sciences/music(classical piano) double program)
My instruments are mainly piano, guitar, drum and i'm into singing too while playing those...
Got lots of interesting gear for playing music too : my alesis DM10 electronic drum kit is my favourite

By the way sorry if my written english is not so good thats cuz i'm french (Quebec)

I love ableton live and i also like FL studio which is in my opinion a great program too...

I try to create alot of electronic music... i'm mostly able of creating psytrance since the kick bass is so easy.

That brings me to say i LOVE astrix, (no im not gay i love his music haha xD ) as well as infected mushroom but i personaly think there shoudnt be a vocalist in that band... 1200 micrograms is also good electrypnose and yknow all the GOA/psytrance is awesome but i get fed up of it sometimes...

So tiesto, armin van buuren, sander van doorn, sied van riel, markus schulz are also some of my top favourites...
Mr.oizo, Justice, Dilemn are also worth mention... (electro-wise)

I master music very well but sadly i'm not such a good DJ yet PLEASE HELP ME BECOME AN AWESOME DJ !!!! Any tips or help is welcomed !!!

I keep watching youtube to learn... LOTS of tutorials and i was pointed out mixingonbeat by ellaskins you guys must know him from his videos... anyways...

**Off-Topic**

ok well enough with the blablablabla i'm so sorry for anyone who has read through allll this boring stuff hhaha
