It's almost end of the year and I have not used some of the treats on my Navi Planner by BDJ. So there I was, called my friend and told her I would treat her at CBTL. He's quite surprised though and even if he loves Starbucks more than CBTL, who can resist the word - libre? Hahaha.

Yeah, so we met at Greenbelt and we had a nice time eating Big Ben's with a nice cup of tea all for not more than 250php!!! Buy one take one breakfast plus with two free hot teas! I really love the Navi planner treats!!!

Slammer Burgers: Slammin At It's Best!

It was a day after the Typhoon Pedring hit the Philippines that I went out of the house. I was expecting my salary and I really want to buy my grocery supplies for the whole month. I went out with my friend and I was not disappointed because by 5PM, my ATM already shows 5 digits there.

The first thing we thought of doing is to eat. Of course! For this month, I have been craving for crispy and delicious fries but I always end up eating a full meal - the usual Filipino dish. So, I suggested Slammers Burgers to my friend. Good thing, she had not tried it before as well. I heard a lot of good things about it so we ran to the store to eat.

We had their two piece Bacon mushroom melt with fries and drinks. Since I really don't know how big their serving is, we tried it first and by the first bite of our burger -- it was heavenly. I remember I used to crave for Bacon Mushroom Melt at Wendy's but since their bread becomes a little different (meaning: low quality), I stopped buying that at Wendy's. But now, it seems I'll be craving more for this burger because of Slammer's.

Since we had a good finish at first attempt, we tried the Fish and Chips this time and it was still the best. We left Slammer Burger's with our belly's feeling very full and satisfied.

Home Based Job: An Update

I have been a home based employee for quite sometime and I can say that I really find it very convenient especially when there is a storm and the fare price continues to increase - there is no need for you to walk on flooded streets and beat the stormy weather. No one will tell you to "you have to come to work - it is considered a critical working day!" I have been in the call center industry for so many years and I am quite well "tired" of those words: critical working day! No one's gonna force you to come to the office even if they knew you have to cross six flooded areas before you reach the office LOL.

As for me, I am still with Remote Staff and I am having a blast! At first, my fear was that the salary won't be on time as what I have experienced with other online jobs. But this never happened with me at Remote Staff. They also have a staff who will take care of your initial employment so there's no need for you to look for a client just like what you are doing at other freelance sites.

I have been at this one popular freelance site for over a year but I never really had a client there that lasted for two months. Here at Remote Staff, they aim for long period of employment per employee. So, if you want a (long lasting!) home based job, Remote Staff is for you!

A Taste of Antipolo

Are you tired of having your dinner in one of the restaurants around Metro Manila? Tired of having to put up with the dust and traffic of the city?

If you do, I would suggest you go to Bali Gulp. This is where my friends, including me of course, went one time to have our lunch. Well, it was more of a food trip. Literally. The place is great since in any of the Nipa Huts that you choose, you'll get the 'overlooking spot' where Antipolo is really famous at. You'll even find a videoke machine seated nicely inside the hut where you and your friends can use.

It has three floors but of course, we got the one that has the highest spot of all so the city view will be much of a good sight!

The foods are also great. They are in big servings where families and friends can share with at a very affordable price. The cuisine is mostly Filipino foods and the drinks (from beers to non-alcohol drinks) is just a right fit for a cheap budget, too.

Nice comfort rooms, too! LOL. Well, not the ones you can see in a 5-star hotel but it is clean and the window will also give you that overlooking scenery of the city below :) That's what makes it nice. No cover -- just fresh air! :)

By the way, it is just along Sumulong Highway near Padi's Point in Antipolo.

The Central Bar and BBQ Grill

The barkadas were thinking of where to go because of the long weekend mania. We just thought of "anything goes" since none of us has to go to the office the next day. It was Saturday so we can drink and be merry as long as we want.

We found ourselves at The Central Bar and BBQ Grill in Ayala Hway, Batangas. The place was very spacious. Huge parking lot and even the dining place is very accommodating to all barkadas and families that will go there. Foods and drinks are very affordable. We've been there for two hours and it only costs us 1800+. By the way, there's 10 of us. You'll just be the one to say no and utter I'm full already after everything's done!

Scribblings

This is what happens while I am not doing anything and just waiting to get started on my new job by tomorrow. I have been in the house for the whole week while I am talking endlessly with my bf and doing some home based jobs.

I already got an idea that to fill all the pages of my planner, the only thing I have to do is this. It's a mini-planner/portfolio as well. LOL

It says learn to love, unlove and relove. People should not stop loving when they get hurt. Instead, they should learn to move on by unloving the person and then learn to love again or relove. There's a lot of people in this world. The right one is just waiting for you to meet one day. :)

James did a good job for his role and he's just sooooooooooo superb. He is so fit for the role! :)

Food Hunting at Munch Punch

What's good about this website is that it is dedicated to Filipino's hungry bellies. At the main page, you will see that the restaurants are categorized based on which place they are located. Another good thing about the website is that once you click on a certain restaurant, it will give you the menu and the price of every meal. Good deal, right? Scents that Evoke Memories

Stationery scent. When I was in my elementary years, I am so gaga over stationeries. I would collect as many as I can. There is even a store in front of our school that sells stationeries.

We would play games on it like a deck of cards. Which one would you bet in exchange of that cute stationery that just captured your eye. the boy that tag me as his favorite classmate would even send me stationeries whenever his family would came from Japan. Until now, I still have that stationery where Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck is the one printed on it.

Stuff I Collect

My favorite collection is a notebook.

Notebooks! From small to big ones! What captures me about it is the cover and the fine touch of the paper in it. Some of it is still untouched in my mini-library. I just love looking at them.

And I think, when I have all the time in the world to travel, those notebooks will serve their purpose very well. One day.

Movie Review: Red Riding Hood

The first time I heard about it, and even how Leonardo DiCaprio conceptualize on changing the story for this new age Red Riding Hood, it already got me soooooooooooo excited. Additionally, I really like Amanda so much even during the Mean Girls movie.

So, on the 1st day of it's showing here, I went to Trinoma right away with a friend of mine and watched it. And unfortunately, I got disappointed.

Why?

I am not a movie critic but this is just my point of view. First, I think the writers were torn between which kind of movie they should categorize it: love story or suspense horror. At one point, there's a lot of love conflicts in it but then all of a sudden, it will be mixed with the horror-suspense substance of the movie and then will go back to that love story part. The love story on those three confused people is soooo boring.

Even the feelings of how much they love each other was not realistic. I guess, they just don't have this chemistry on the big screen: Shiloh and Amanda.

The horror suspense part, with all the guesses you've made, it's like in the end you will just say -- that's it? And how they defeated the werewolf so easily like that? If he has the visions that he can see what's going to happen, why he did not see that his daughter is the one that is going to kill him? Sorry for being a spoiler.

And I just find it so heartbreaking that Shiloh turned into a werewolf in the end. Happy endings, I guess, is not for all movies nowadays. Just like Titanic.

I think there were lots of scenes that has been deleted from the movie. I also think that maybe if they could have lengthen the movie, heighten the suspense-horror, it might have been more realistic and better. Maybe turning Red Riding Hood into a Gothic style movie is not a good idea but it could also be if they put more attention to little details.

There were lots of questions in my head after we watched the movie. And sipping over mocha frappe, my friend was also asking the same question. Well, instead of talking how the movie turned out in the end, we just talked about on what's the next movie we are going to watch.

Ace Water Spa: Indoor Pool in the Metro

As for a birthday treat for myself, I decided to go to Ace Water Spa in Banaue, Quezon City. I have been planning to go here for a very long time just that the people I wanna go with are too afraid to wear swimsuits. I don't have a Ms. Universe body but I can wear it at the right place and time.

Since again, I don't have anybody to go with me, I just went anyway to give myself a nice gift: spa and massage in a pool. I am not a fan of massage parlor where a person will do the massaging for you. I have many tickle points and I feel that because my body was not used to massage, that person can easily crushed my fragile and sleeping bones. So, I'd rather not go there and will just go to Ace Water Spa.

And again, since I am the only one who went there, I was not able to use the buy one, take one promo of my Navi Planner. But I will be using it on my niece's birthday this April - before the deadline to use it ends.

I had a great time at Ace. I had to admit, I love the beach but I don't love the scorching heat. Night swimming is appealing to me but many people don't like it so I feel like I am weird. Why go to the beach when you don't want to be exposed to the sun? Yeah I know that's why from now on, I'll just go to Ace Water Spa every time I will have that 'I-wanna-go-to-the-beach' mood.

You do not have to worry if you forgot to bring swimsuit. They can have you rent a swimsuit so you don't have to buy outside anymore. They will be giving you keys after you pay for your lockers. It is recommended for you to take a shower first before plunging in to their pool spa. You will also be required to wear a head cap while you are in the pool so you won;t see any hairs swimming with you in the pool. After having that rejuvenating spa for 4 hours consumable, you will again need to take a shower. They have available soap and shampoo inside the shower area. If you don't have a towel, they can also have you rent one.

I do not know how to swim but thank God, with my height at 5 feet exact, the water is just until my chest area and i just need to walk to go to the other massage areas of the pool. The water is 35 degrees hot while I am there. Just enough to relax and rejuvenate my tired and stressed body.

The water pressure is the one doing the works for you. The pressure ranges from soft to hard. I just love the acupuncture bed while the water massages the back of your body. I also love the high-buoyancy water where it is almost lifting my body due to the high pressure. Kids and even adults are enjoying the pool. There is also a very cold and hot herbal pool but I did not really go there. I just like the "enough warm" water. Maybe I'll try it next time.

They also have sauna's available for you. You just need to ask the very accommodating staff. You even have a free tea after that relaxing spa massage in the pool. I will recommend it to the whole family. No need to go out of town. With Ace Water Spa, you will also have that beach fun feeling minus the sun! :)

I Am A Freelance Home Based Writer

I am proud to say that aside from my work, I am working as a freelance home-based email writer. It is not an easy task considering I have a daily job but what I love the most is that I am loving what I am doing.

For some, this may be a scam. Luckily, for me, the one that I found is not!I may have some difficulties on it but I am determined to go through all this. Because this is what I want. I am happy that I am with the best writers and editors :)

My Celine Sandals

Super Healthy Lunch

Left alone at home, too lazy to cook so I look at the fridge to see what will I have for lunch. I am into no rice diet so I am not gonna worry about cooking a meal with a rice for my lunch. But here's what I got after less than 5 minutes of preparation:

Ive put some leftover lean meat on it, with Nestle' Corn Flakes, light chees and lettuce - the one on the cup.

The bread is a simple Century Tuna flakes in oil flavor with light cheese and lettuce as well.

Lastly, don't forget your water. :)

I learned, during the course of my 2011 Fitness resolution goal, that being healthy is not something to suffer about. You just need to enjoy it. If you need to have someone with you on your early morning exercise to be more inspired (to wake up! hahhaa) DO IT!

The food you eat should not deprive you of what you want to fill your stomach. You just need to do a little experimentation - just like what I did today! For some of you who have been on my blog, you read that I joined that Nestle Wellness. And they said that no rice is okay as long as you have a better substitute like the bread. And eat in moderation.

Being healthy is the number one goal we should have in mind. And everything follows. Like losing some inches on your waistline. Don't think about it too much. Just enjoy every minute of it! Before you know it, you've already reached your goal for this year. :)

One Week Vacation

That's true .. I am on vacation! And I am just so happy!

But the real goal of this vacation is no cash out vacation but more on doing a plan on how to be truly creative this year, how to stay away from being conventional and most of all, how to live stress free for 2011!

Is it so hard to plan?

Well, in order for me to do this, I promised not to have this disturbance:

- less time online
- concentrate on my diet
- less phone calls
- stay at home

I Choose Wellness

I chanced upon the Nestle' Team last Saturday at Quezon City Circle. If you wanna be fit, healthy and be informed on what's the right kind of lifestyle you should have, I encourage you to join the "I Choose Wellness" program by Nestle'.

For the Quezon City peeps, they are at QC Circle every Saturday as early as 530AM and on Sundays at UP grounds near Baltazar.

The membership is for free and for the initial part, they will be giving you the passport as you can see here and the next steps are that they will be getting your blood pressure rate, height, weight, and you will also get to know the ever talked about BMI. While you're learning the importance of knowing your BMI, the nutritionist, which is a one-by-one session with them, will explain to you what are the do's and dont's and will still be giving you reminders. I really find it way oh so cool.

You can also join the seminar that they are conducting on one booth about the facts and myths of being fit and going on a diet. Another cool way of spending your weekends right and productive, isn't it?

So, if you are not doing anything at all during weekends, go to the Nestle' booths so you can be fit and healthy starting this 2011!
