As I stood in my kitchen one morning, washing the dishes, I thought to myself,

Taf, I am so proud of the woman you are today.

Did you ever think that one day you would have two beautiful girls who adore you?

Did you ever think that one day you would be caring for your mother the way you are now?

Then I answered myself and said,

Lord, this is all for Your glory, not mine.

There is no way I would have been able to hold myself together under these circumstances without You.

I know there is more coming, but before You add anything more, prepare me.

Prepare my heart.

And in that moment, these words began to flow from my spirit.

Lord, let me become the woman who is ready first.

Let my life be in order.

Let my mind be clear.

Let my home be stable.

Let my finances grow.

Let my children be secure.

Prepare me before You add to me.

Build me before You bless me.

Establish me before You increase me.

Teach me to be content in the season I am in.

Teach me to trust Your timing.

Teach me to walk in alignment with Your will.

So that whatever comes into my life

comes from a place of strength, not need.

From peace, not pressure.

From wholeness, not emptiness.

I know I am not behind.

I know I am not forgotten.

I know You are working on me.

I am still becoming. 🩷

So This Is 36

“The Lord will perfect that which concerns me.”

— Psalm 138:8 (NKJV)

Before I embrace 36, I honor 35.

Thirty-five was the year I faced my deepest fears. Everything I had ever been afraid of, I faced. It was a turning point.

My relationship with the Lord Jesus deepened, and my understanding of life became clearer. I realized I had been a people pleaser. Through adversity, setbacks, and limitations, I lost my voice, but I found it again.

I now see that the past decade was preparation for the stage God was setting before me. I asked for wisdom in 2016, and the years that followed were my wilderness. I was pruned. I was stretched. I was refined, not to harm me, but to prepare me.

So this is 36.

Thirty-six is a marker.

Thirty-six is a shift.

I am rising.

No more seeking validation. Just living in peace that surpasses all understanding.

I am not afraid to let go of anything or anyone. I have a destiny to fulfill. Those in alignment will remain. Those who are not will fall away. No forcing, no striving, just momentum.

Life is short. I will live fully, with no regrets.

Thank You, Jesus.

Thank You, Holy Spirit.

Thank You, God.

Hallelujah.

Happy birthday to me.

Closing Reflection

This is Thirty-Six, not a season of striving, but of settling into truth. I choose clarity over confusion, peace over pressure, and alignment over performance. I have learned that momentum doesn’t have to be loud, and strength doesn’t have to be hard. There is a quiet confidence that comes from knowing who you are and whose you are.

I am carried, anchored, and still. I am no longer drawn to noise, but to what sustains me. This is not a glow-up; it is a homecoming, a return to the truest version of myself. Secure whether in abundance or in simplicity, I stand grounded beyond circumstances, trusting the path laid before me.

As I step forward, I do so with gratitude for every season that shaped me and with openness for all that is still unfolding. My prayer is that you, too, would choose clarity, walk in peace, and honor the quiet strength within you.

The Power of Words

I hope you’re doing well and that you had an amazing weekend! Honestly, I don’t doubt that you did. My weekends are usually full of laughter, chatter, and joyful chaos—thanks to my two beautiful, talkative girls. The joy of being a girl mom, right? Ha!

Anyway, let’s get into today’s blog post.

What’s your understanding of the power behind words?
Take a moment to think about that—and if you’d like, share your thoughts in the comments below.

I’ll be honest—I didn’t truly understand the power of words until I had a dream in 2023.

In this dream, a man I didn’t recognize came to me and simply said, “Use your words.”
That was it. No explanation. Just those three words.

I woke up confused, wondering what that could mean. Use my words? What was I supposed to say?

At the time, I was in a season of deep seeking—asking God to reveal my purpose. What I didn’t realize was that this dream was God’s answer to that prayer. I just needed to keep pressing in until my heart and mind could grasp the full revelation.

As I persisted in prayer, the meaning slowly became clear. I began to speak what I wanted to see in my reality—and the more I spoke, the more I started to see those very words take shape in my life.

That’s when I truly learned it: words carry power.
Our words create our reality.

Since then, my life has never been the same. I’ve learned to use my words thoughtfully and wisely. I’m still learning not to speak when I have nothing kind or fruitful to say—and to stay silent when I sense my words might be misunderstood.

Because here’s the truth:
Your words are powerful.

If you speak defeat, you will live defeated.
But if you speak life—then life is exactly what you will see.

So, let me ask you this:
How have you been using your words?

Are you building or tearing down?
And remember—it’s not just about what you say to others.
It’s also about what you say to yourself about yourself.

Choose life with your words today. 🌱

Reflection Prayer

Father, in the name of Jesus,
teach me to use my words with wisdom and love.
Let my tongue become an instrument of peace and faith.
Where I have spoken carelessly, forgive me and heal those words.
From today forward, may my words align with Your will and shape the life You’ve destined for me.
Amen.

Daily Affirmation

I speak life.
My words build, not break.
My mouth is anointed to create.
I align my tongue with truth, faith, and grace—

DELIVERANCE FROM CYCLES

Hey beloved 💛

I hope you had a great weekend! For some reason, I feel like you actually did. And even if nothing major happened, take a moment to be thankful—you made it through, and you’re here reading this right now. That’s grace wrapped in mercy.

Over the weekend, I had a revelation I felt led to share with you. I realized that life moves in cycles—divine patterns that either prepare us for destiny or keep repeating until we finally learn what God is trying to teach us.

These cycles aren’t meant to break us down. They’re meant to build us, to help us live with intention and spiritual awareness.

I also came to realize something powerful: I’ve just come to the end of a cycle, and a new one has already begun. I didn’t notice it at first, but when revelation came, I knew deep down that I had stepped into my new era.

Below is the prayer I prayed the moment that truth hit my spirit. Maybe you’ll relate to it too— especially if you sense you’re shifting seasons.

The End of a Cycle—The Birth of a New Era 🔥

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ,
I stand at the threshold of a new decade—the birthing gate of divine destiny.

From 2016 to 2025, You’ve walked with me through fire and through water.
You’ve broken chains, uprooted altars, and gathered the fragments of my soul that were once scattered.

What used to hold me captive has no claim over me anymore.

The old cycle—that season of testing, refining, and warfare—is complete.

Now, by the authority of the blood of Jesus, I decree:
The old decade closes. The doors of delay, bondage, and repetition are sealed by fire.
Every spirit, pattern, and voice from that old cycle is silenced permanently—in Jesus’ name.

I cross over into my Kairos decade—the era of fulfillment, manifestation, and divine establishment.

This is my season of rebirth. The hunted has become the hunter. The learner has become the leader.

Everything I lost in the past ten years—peace, joy, time, health, and legacy—is being restored in multiplied measure.

I walk into this new decade with a renewed mind, purified hands, and a yielded heart.
Let divine order reign in every area of my life—spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and financially.

My bloodline shifts with me. My children rise with me.
My name is written in new scrolls of destiny.

As my fast ends, let this declaration mark my spiritual coronation —
for I have died to the old and risen in the power of the Spirit.

The decade of warfare ends. The decade of reigning begins.
It is finished—and it is begun.
In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

Abiding in His Love

Beloved, I hope you are well and having a beautiful morning. I may not know exactly what your morning feels or looks like, but I am certain of this—God is right there in the midst of it with you.

Let me share a testimony.

From Darkness to Deliverance

Before becoming the woman, I am today, I was tormented by anxiety, panic attacks, depression, bound by ancestral chains. Every morning, I woke up dreading the day ahead, trapped in a cycle I didn’t even recognize. I had no peace and felt powerless. At night, the enemy would sow seeds of fear, confusion, and uncertainty in my spirit, as if a veil had been placed over me.

I wasn’t aware of the depth of my trauma until God delivered me from it. I carried ancestral burdens that were never mine to carry. But God, in His mercy, saw what the enemy had done to me in the darkness. I was often misunderstood and judged, even by those who were meant to protect me.

God’s Glory in the Pain

Do you know what I love about God? He allowed all of that to happen so that I could know Him the way I know Him now. If people had helped me when I needed it, they would have taken the glory instead of God.

A good friend once said to me:

“Theresa, what God wants to do in your life, He wants no man to take the glory.”

Almost nine years later, those words resonate deeply. No man can take the glory for what God has done in my life. I harbor no resentment; I owe no man anything but the love of God.

Breaking the Chains

By abiding in God and persisting in prayer, my deliverance came. The cycles of repeated patterns, witchcraft, bewitchments, and binding ancestral contracts were broken by the blood of the Lamb. And I overcame by the word of my testimony.

Spiritual battles are fought in the spirit, not in the flesh. When you choose to abide in Jesus Christ, victory is already won. You only have to walk through it with repentance, surrender, and yielding.

Living Your True Identity

Abiding in Him means picking up your cross and following Him. It means living a life of consecration, seeking God in spirit and in truth. You are not defined by what others have spoken over you—you are who God says you are.

It also means rejecting the counterfeit identity the world has given you and embracing your true,

God-given identity in Christ Jesus.

God didn’t heal me so I could boast about it. He used me as an example of His sovereignty and goodness. He is a merciful God. He wants to heal you too—but you must choose Him back, for He has already chosen you.

WALKING THROUGH

Hey beloved, I hope you are well and that you had a great weekend — hopefully resting in the Lord and enjoying the company of those you hold dear.

I love my weekends because I get to spend more time with my family. Over the past few months, I’ve been working on something and polishing it, and it felt as though I didn’t get to spend enough time with my children. But I am making it up to them now. Mama has taken some time off her busy schedule to spend with her beautiful girls.

Now let’s get into the heart of what I want to share with you today.

As someone who has backslidden a couple of times (and I’m not proud of it), I recently felt a stirring in my spirit. I was led to revisit a note I wrote back in August 2023. It said:

✨ “It is not what you perceive your need to be that is your need.”

Those words hit me straight in my soul. It felt as if heaven was weaving a rhythm for me — a timeline showing how God has always been in the details. Since I became born again in August 2015, I’ve had seasons of backsliding: in 2018 until 2020, then again in 2021. Each time I repented and returned, but 2023 marked a different kind of shift. It was almost like when I first encountered Christ, but this time I chose alignment.

And since then, I’ve faced resistance at every threshold. In the past, when resistance came, I would give up. But this time, I stayed anchored. I wanted to see what would happen if I refused to let go. And that’s when altars began to crumble, chains began to break, and cycles lost their grip. 🙌🏽

Like I said before, there is so much more to share as we continue on this journey. The breakthrough is just the tip of the iceberg — walking through is the real deal.

So today, I want to encourage you: stay strong in the Lord. Hold on to His promises, which are always Yes and Amen (2 Corinthians 1:20). Remember, “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6).

THE BREAKTHROUGH

Beloved, it’s been a while — not because I had nothing to say, but because the Lord had me hidden, working on me in the secret place. In the silence, He was doing deep surgery in the depths of my soul, cutting away what could not go with me into the next season.

Now I return to this space with fresh oil and a renewed fire. This isn’t just me “blogging again”

— this is a divine appointment. I believe God has called us to grow together here, to walk side

by side as He unfolds His plans.

I’m carrying good news I’ll share along the way, but for now, know this: if you’re reading these

words, you are part of the story He’s writing. And I’m expectant — because what’s ahead is not

just content, it’s kingdom.

The other day, I felt a bubbling in my spirit — an excitement rising within me. It was a familiar

stirring, but this time it carried a deeper weight. It came from the depths of my spirit, and for a

moment, my soul tried to hijack it.

I’ve learned that the soul is the gate to the spirit, and at that gate the enemy often tries to twist

what’s coming from God. I stood on the edge of a breakthrough and had to choose: let the soul

control the moment, or let the spirit take the lead. After wrestling with the excitement, I went to

my knees and prayed.

I didn’t just pray — something was born from the depths of my spirit. My soul became a witness

to the glory that erupted from within me. Heaven itself sponsored that moment. It was powerful,

holy, and unmistakable.

My soul couldn’t carry the full weight of that glory, so it surrendered and yielded to the Lord.

Hallelujah — glory to the Most High God. Heaven is nearer than we often think; God is here

with us now (James 4:8). In His presence is fullness of joy, and at His right hand are pleasures

forevermore (Psalm 16:11).

This is not about me being special. I am simply a vessel who chooses obedience, surrender, and

yielded-ness above all else.

Are you willing to forsake all so the glory of the Lord can rest on you?

Remember: we are called to walk in the Spirit and not gratify the desires of the flesh (Galatians

5:16–17). Let the Spirit lead — do not quench Him (1 Thessalonians 5:19).

"Your breakthrough is not coming — it’s here. Step into it, and let the Spirit carry you the

rest of the way."

THE SILENCE THAT SPEAKS

The Silence That Speaks

For over two decades, I lived with a voice that wasn’t mine. A presence in my mind that whispered doubt, shame, confusion, and fear. It followed me into every room, sat beside me in silence, and distorted how I saw myself and the world around me.

I learned to function with it. To smile with it. To live with it.

But now… it’s gone.

I didn’t even notice the exact moment it left. But today, I realized I don’t hear it anymore.

There’s peace in my mind. Space to breathe. A silence I once feared, now comforting.

It’s not empty it’s filled with presence. His presence.

I broke down in prayer because I felt unworthy. How can You do this for someone like me, Lord?

And yet… You did.

Not because I earned it.

Not because I fought hard enough.

But because You loved me enough.

This is deliverance. Not loud. Not public. But deep, quiet, and real.

I am still me but a healed version.

No longer just surviving with the weight of a false identity but standing, present, and whole.

God, You’ve done something to me. Something holy.

I may not understand it all, but I will never forget this feeling

freedom.

A Legacy Prayer, My Yes to You

Father,

You’ve seen every part of me every failure, every start I never finished, every tear cried

in secret. And still, You chose me. Still, You called me. Still, You placed something

eternal inside me.

Today, I finally see what You’ve been doing all along.

That longing I’ve always had to leave a legacy it was never mine alone. It was Your

desire, whispered into my spirit.

A seed planted by heaven, now watered by Your Spirit.

So here I am, Lord.

Not with all the answers, but with a heart wide open.

I say yes to the call.

I say yes to digging the wells.

I say yes to the prayers that rise even when I don’t feel strong.

I say yes to building what hasn’t been seen before.

Not for my name, but for Yours.

Make me a vessel of Your presence.

Let my life be the proof that You are faithful.

Use my story to stir the hunger in others.

Let the legacy I leave behind be one that echoes in eternity.

I may not know every step but I trust the One who walks beside me.

This is my yes.

This is my surrender.

This is the beginning of something only You can finish.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

This prayer was inspired by the Scriptures God poured into my spirit over the past few days.

When Pain Becomes Purpose

I greet you with love, peace, and joy.

I hope you are enjoying the last days of 2024 while reflecting on how far you have come. Lately, my mind seems to wander back to my past, reminding me of moments when I was struggling. When I have these flashbacks, they are so vivid, and all I see is the goodness of God. I see His goodness because it was during those moments that I sought Him, crying out for help. These were the times when I had nothing no place to call home. All I had was myself and the people God placed in my life to help me. As these flashbacks come, I smile and say, “God, truly You see me and hear me.”

How often do you look back? Not to dwell on the pain, but to see how far you’ve come. You will never heal until you face that which broke you or hurt you and forgive yourself before forgiving the person or situation that caused the hurt. For me, I couldn’t afford therapy, so I chose to seek the One who created me, asking Him to heal me from the inside out. Ever since I decided to discover who I truly am, my life has never been the same.

The challenges I once complained about are the very things God used to make me stronger and wiser. When I give someone advice, I speak from experience. If I haven’t experienced what they are going through and they seek my guidance, I turn to God for wisdom. I have never known Him to fail.

Now, when I look at my life, I am thankful for everything I’ve been through. It’s true what the Bible says: “What the enemy meant for evil; God turned it around for good.” When you’re in the midst of a difficult situation, it can feel like you’ll never come out of it but you will. You must speak life into every circumstance. I’ve learned that what we say to ourselves is far more important than what others may think of us.

This year, my mother suddenly became ill. When I visited her in the hospital for the first time since her admission, I was struck by how fragile life truly is. My mother has always been a kind woman who thinks of everyone but herself. She has spent most of her life working and taking care of others, often neglecting her own needs. However, when sickness came, her perception of life changed. She finally realized how important it is to love and care for herself because life is incredibly fragile.

As the year comes to an end, you might find yourself reflecting on how you didn’t achieve certain goals. Take a moment to breathe and practice self-reflection. Ask yourself: Am I living the life God intended for me? Am I living a life of purpose, or am I merely existing?

Remember who you are. You are a spiritual being with a soul and a body. You are here to experience life as a human. Seek the One who created you and find your purpose. Don’t just survive, LIVE.

A Year of Growth: Turning Trials into Triumphs

Hello there, my darling,

I hope you had a great year. Even if it feels like your year wasn’t as wonderful as you

hoped, I trust there’s at least one moment or experience that made you smile. As you

reflect on the journey from the beginning of the year to this very moment, can you see

the goodness of God?

Let’s set aside material things and finances for a moment. Even when you thought it

was over, didn’t you experience a breakthrough in the end? That situation, that

heartbreak, that frustration was it not resolved eventually?

When you felt like you were on the edge, about to fall, did you fall? And even if you did,

didn’t you rise again? Now let me ask you this: did you think you went through all those

challenges because life was unfair to you? Perhaps that’s what you believed at the time,

but take a moment to reflect what have you learned from everything you’ve experienced

so far? When you achieved something, you wanted, did you look back and see how far

you’ve come?

Life, my dear, is about evolving. Yes, material things are important, and yes, money is a

necessity. But so is personal growth and the renewal of your mind. We grow through

what we go through. No one is truly your enemy but yourself. How others think of you or

treat you has nothing to do with you. You must learn to hold yourself accountable for

what happens in your life. If something isn’t working, change your perspective, and try

another approach.

Everything you went through this year was meant to shape and prepare you for what

you asked God for. God won’t bless you while you hold onto the same mindset you’ve

had since childhood. Adversity comes to teach us valuable lessons, to help us

reorganize our lives and our minds.

Ask yourself: what kind of company are you keeping? Do they help you evolve and push

you to become the best version of yourself? Or do they bring out the worst in you? The

year isn’t over yet. You still have time to reflect and make meaningful changes in your

life.

It takes courage to let go of the old and embrace the new. Are you brave enough to take

accountability for your actions and make the changes you’ll one day be proud of? I

believe you can because you’ve read this all the way through.

Take control. Take charge. You are where you are today because of the choices you’ve

made. If those choices weren’t the best, start fresh right now, this moment. Make better

decisions that will positively impact your life and the lives of those around you.

You Are the Prize: Flourishing in Self-Love and Faith

I am so proud of you, my darling. Every day you wake up, you choose yourself, and I could not be prouder of your progress. Everything changed for the better when you decided to take control of your life. So many nights you cried alone, yet when the sun rose every morning, you wore a brave face, ready to start the day.

Even with a heavy burden, you still listened to others and helped them with theirs. You never turned down anyone who needed your help. Your arms were always wide open, ready to save the day not for a price, but because that’s just who you are.

I understand more than anyone that having a good heart can mislead others into thinking you are a doormat. So, I am so proud that you learned to say "no" when you must. You only help when you can help. I am so proud you stopped going above and beyond for those who wouldn’t even walk a mile for you. And my darling, this makes you authentic because you are being true to yourself.

When you say "yes" when you want to say "no," it makes you a fraud. It leads to resentment of others, hatred of yourself, and losing yourself to please people. I am so proud of how you no longer care what anyone thinks of you because you know who you are in Christ Jesus. I love how you fear God, not man.

As you continue to flourish and bloom like the lily that you are, my prayer is that you keep seeking the truth about who you truly are. Love yourself unapologetically and know that you can rise from anything. It is never too late to achieve anything you set your mind to.

You are the prize, you are the main character in your story move like it, look like it, be it.

I love you, my darling YOU.

HEALING

Healing begins the moment you accept that there is a problem. I was the kind of person who had no desire to acknowledge the many traumas I needed to address. For so long, I thought nothing was wrong with me everyone else was the problem. Playing the victim became a role I performed so perfectly, without even realizing it. In my mind, everyone else was to blame except me.

One day, I sat alone in the quiet and asked God, "Who am I?" Before the world shaped me into who I had become, who was I truly? Every decision I made in my life had been based on someone else's experience or perspective, or sometimes mine, but through a distorted lens. It was as if my entire life, I had been programmed to think a certain way.

That was the moment my journey of self-discovery and healing began. The most painful part about healing is that you must start from the beginning. It's almost as if you're reliving the trauma. But honestly, it has been one of the best decisions I've ever made. I came to understand why I am the way I am. I distanced myself from many things and people because I needed clarity.

During this time of healing and isolation, I found my true, authentic self. I realized that over the years, I had adopted other people’s bad habits and made them my own. I was living in the shadows of others. I took on their problems and made them my own, busy trying to help others when I was the one in need of help. I was carrying a heavy mental load much of it not even mine to bear.

Healing revealed to me that I had been trying to be so much to others that I neglected myself, even from an early age. I lost myself when I was very young, and now, I’m making it up to myself. I don’t owe anyone anything except love, as commanded by the Lord, and no one owes me anything but love in return.

Healing starts with you taking accountability for your actions instead of blaming others.

TIME ALONE

How often do you find some peace? I mean how often do you let your mind rest from worrying or over analysing? It’s the simple things in life we often overlook, like taking long walks by yourself and listening to the sounds of nature, without any music, phone, or distractions. We tend to underestimate the importance of being alone. Solitude and loneliness are not the same thing.

I have always enjoyed my time alone whenever I can get the chance to be alone. Since childhood, I always made some time for myself to be alone. And now as an adult, I can see how spending time alone shaped me to be who I am today.

Outside influence can be very powerful especially when you lack self-awareness. Knowing and comprehending yourself as an individual is very essential. You do not need to worry about the external world’s perception of you, as long as you’re not causing harm to anyone in the process.

Have you ever wondered about your identity and preferences? Sometimes we may unconsciously imitate others, without knowing ourselves well enough. For example, you may buy shoes that your friend approves of, but are they your style? I’m not saying that you should never seek advice from others, but you should also ask yourself if you are happy with your choices or just following your friend’s suggestions.

Don’t let others define who you are. You are unique and worthy. Make some space in your hectic life and take a break. Go for a solo walk without your phone. If you keep exploring yourself, you will discover your true essence and your passion.

THIRTY FOUR

Now that I’m 33, almost 34, I feel a mix of wonder and weirdness about being in my thirties. Maybe it’s just me, but I think this is a great stage of life. Some people dread getting older as if it means the end of everything, but they don’t realize it’s the start of a new adventure.

I love being in my thirties because I don’t let the things that used to bother me in my twenties get to me anymore. Things like losing friends and family, leaving behind relationships that were not good for me, feeling insecure about my appearance, or being scared to dine out by myself. In my thirties, I embrace everything about myself. I have gained confidence and learned to love what I once disliked.

Being in my thirties has also helped me grow more mature in my relationships with my family and friends. I understood that I had to set boundaries for myself to have peace of mind, instead of always playing the victim. It’s easy to blame others for everything, but it’s not fair. I was that person who pointed fingers at others, even when I was partly responsible. So, I decided to take charge of how I allowed others to treat me, and that made me set boundaries.

At this moment, I am happy with where I am in my life, both mentally and physically. I am constantly growing and changing every minute of every day. I am learning from my errors, I am discovering myself, what I enjoy, what I reject, and what I accept. It is wonderful to be here, and I adore it here. I am so fortunate, and I am thankful for the life I have today. The fact that my life is someone else’s hope makes me value everything I have and the people I have in my life. My children make me feel alive, I look at them and I see how much God loves me through them.

So, 34, I greet you with a warm hug. I vow to keep being gentler to myself and offer the same kindness to others. I will not remain where I am not welcome, I will not hesitate to leave anything or anyone that will disturb my tranquillity.

One last thing: your words shape your reality. Be careful of what you say to yourself and what you say to others. Words can build and words can ruin. Be mindful. Be blessed.

I OVERCAME

I sat there feeling repulsed, thinking how did I let this happen again? I have been doing so well in my spiritual walk with God.

At this point shame had cunningly started manifesting, I was out of reach with the Holy Spirit because of none existent prayer life. You see the thing is when you’re not in communion with the Holy Spirit because of an un-repented sin it’s very difficult to hear God. God will be speaking to you warning you but your spirit man will be so weakened that you cannot hear. (Isaiah 59:1-4)

The enemy had me in captivity for months. There was war ragging in my thoughts shame kept mocking me day in day out.

In the midst of the chaos that was on going in my thoughts,

I heard a voice say to me “come back to me you’re Mine” it was a comforting still voice; I ignored this voice since I was so deep into self-condemnation.…It felt as though my world was crushing down on me.

My friends and family tried comforting to make me feel better, but they just couldn’t understand how I felt in inside, there was just no way out of this battle so it seemed like. Until I cried out to the only one who once helped me overcome anxiety and depression Christ Jesus.

I went down on my knees and began to cry out for mercy and forgiveness of sin I listed all the sins I had committed knowingly and unknowingly then I After began to repent for each one of them. (1 John 1:9-10).

Just like that I overcame the spirit of shame through what is written in the word, praying and believing that my sins where forgiven the moment I repented. This is how I was delivered from this spirit called shame.

Psalms 51:17

I hope this will help you to overcome too whatever the enemy is holding against you just know that victory is yours and you have it in Christ Jesus.

OVERCOMING THE SPIRIT OF SHAME

One of the hardest things to do in life is to put yourself out there.

I often wonder if there’s a single soul that wants to share their personal lives or experiences with strangers. I wonder about social media and the many lives that are spread across different platforms and I’ve come to the conclusion that nobody really does because there are various parts of our lives that we hope to hide. Some of these parts breed shame, humiliation, fear but I’ve learned over the years that maybe these are the parts that we need to share because the world is going through it. I pray that what I’m about to share with you will encourage you to live fearlessly with no shame whatsoever. First, I need to give you a little background story about the spirit called shame.

Shame is a spirit and a very cunning spirit at that. It creeps up on you in such a way that you would never see it coming. It likes to hide and usually manifests when you’re about to get back into your prayer life especially after backsliding. When you want to get closer to God, this spirit comes out of its hiding place in full force. It starts to remind you of all the bad things you’ve done and it literally comes to cripple you and discourage your walk to repentance.

Many often fall victim to the lies that this spirit feeds them because at that moment in time they forget, or it simply just doesn’t register that those who are in Christ Jesus can never be put to shame.

I’ll give you a few scriptures that deal with shame… Isaiah 54:4, Joel 2:26, Isaiah 45:17. They’re plenty but for now meditate on those and understand that when you are in Christ Jesus you will never be put to shame.

This is just the beginning of me talking about the spirit of shame. I will be going deeper into my own experience with this spirit and let you know how I overcame it so stay tuned and be blessed.

SOMETHING NEW

So… It’s been awhile – wait a minute – it has been more than a while… a year, maybe more…

After baby number two, life has been so busy! yes I am a mommy of two now and I couldn’t be more joyful.

My girls are my – everything they keep me on my toes and I just thank God every single day for their lives.

I’ve been still for a moment so the Holy Spirit has laid it upon my heart to come back with new content. Less poetry – more spiritual talk. I’ll be sharing more about my spiritual journey since my Heavenly Father slapped some sense back into me after I backslid TWICE.

I have so much to share so stay tuned.

Just a little update…

Your girl has been going on solo dates. I just take myself out. I go to the movies, enjoy a latte at costa almost everyday, on other days I take my kids out for some fun and create memories with them. I love the fact that I can include them in my new found freedom.

I feel like I’ve discovered a whole new dimension and I couldn’t be happier but I’ll have to fill you in as the Holy Spirit leads.

So this is 32…

How time quickly passes. One minute you’re in your teens wishing and hoping to grow up FAST in order to taste freedom – independence – ADULTHOOD and the next, that fairy-tale dream of having it all creeps in your mind.

We live each day thinking about what’s going to happen tomorrow obsessing about the future that we miss the importance of now.

Thirty two is about to be my best year yet because this year, I’m doing it differently. With intent, I won’t let life pass me by whilst I’m obsessing about tomorrow or things I cannot change. I want to wake up each day and be grateful… Grateful… that I am breathing, that I can give my daughter my love and affection, that she will grow up knowing I was there in every season of her life, that whatever God wills, it shall be done. I want to love my family and friends like I’ve never loved them before and try to be there when I can – and – if by any chance I cannot be there – then – I want them to feel my love in my absence.

32 is not about settling out of fear of being alone. I want to live fearlessly and boldly knowing that I am here to experience the gift of life which many have been denied. Not living life to the fullest was 31. Making plans and not achieving them was 30. Loss was 29. Fear was 28. Regret was 27… and reckless was every year before that. I no longer want to take life for granted because it is solely a precious gift.

32 is knowing that hard times helped me to discover who I truly am as a person and also knowing that good times helped me understand that hard times don’t last forever.

32 is forgiving my past, making peace with myself and forever having peace even in the toughest of times. God has been faithful to me even when I wasn’t faithful to Him. He taught me the power of forgiveness to forgive others and myself.

32 is knowing that it’s not the life outside that creates your happiness and sadness – it’s the life inside you that does.

This is 32… This is me.

CROSSROADS

I find myself at a crossroad

The path ahead seems so gloomy, dark and yet I’ve always been sacred of the dark

The path to my left is filled with thorns and the one to my right isn’t any better.

If I take the former road, I’ll have to withstand intolerablepain until I meet the path’s end.

The latter road feeds on rot and is covered in blood.

Behind me I hear monsters calling and I know they’re after my sanity.

I find myself lost, confused and unable to choose a path.

I didn’t expect to find myself at crossroads but here I am anyway.

I have been captured by fear and I cannot think of anything else but which path to choose.

Now I have questions but no matter how hard I try I cannot seem to find the answers. Then there is a question of my sanity when I start to hear voices behind those questions.

Why are you so afraid? Did you get to this point with fear?

Then I remember my God. Those questions can only be from him because even without answering them, I know my strength, courage and capacity. With him all things are possible and now I believe and know I will overcome any challenge that comes that way.

The path is clear now. It’s straight and doesn’t curve to the left or right to confuse my understanding. Why choose when the path to righteousness is right before my eyes.

THAT FEELING, THE FEELING

Have you ever had the feeling that you can't fit in anywhere? Like a misplaced outfit – a suit worn to a baseball game, a Halloween costume to a Christmas party… You have no place to call home and school, work or anywhere you have to be for that matter – well that’s the peak of all your troubles. Sometimes you feel like you’re caught between two worlds or maybe you’re stuck in a black hole. You have this feeling of having no purpose or agenda – a feeling that one day your moral compass could snap and you’ll lose any hope of living.

THAT FEELING, THE FEELING.

That feeling or THE feeling of emptiness even if you have all you need to survive. But, you still ~~need~~ crave for a long nap. A very long, long nap… that feeling however is scary in itself – daunting – so you sink back into that black hole and the cycle starts again.

There were times you felt like giving up

Yet you didn’t give up, you held your head high and kept going.
People doubted you – even now they still doubt you
Yet that didn’t stop you from striving to be a better you.
I admire that courage.

Remember that day you thought you had lost everything,
You contained that anger. You didn’t blame God or yourself for that matter. Your words were. “I’ve got this under control and nothing is ever going to break me”

Now you find yourself at crossroads and you seem to have forgotten how you’ve made it this far.
You’ve forgotten about the sacrifices you made to come this far.

So I’m here to remind you of the strength and fire you have within you.
You always faced every obstacle with wisdom and now, it’s time to pray. Pray for that wisdom from the one who has it all. Pray for that faith to build again within you.
Because the Lord All Mighty will freely give it to you as long as you are willing to ask for it.

I’m just here to remind you of what you already have inside you. Giving up is not an option. We were born to face challenges and are made to overcome them. You cannot help anyone if you haven’t been through anything. I salute you my dear friend and I tell you once more that I admire your courage.

This poem was inspired by a friend who was going through a difficult time in her life. During this time our friendship was tested but we overcame it. I just want her to know that she's loved but above all she is strong and courageous.

BEHIND THE SMILE

What is the reason behind your smile? Is it a genuine smile or it’s just a mask you wear daily to cover up what you really feeling inside.

Some of the prettiest smiles hide the most pain.
Wouldn’t it be nice if someone could look past that façade?

The most gorgeous gown can dress wounds better than stylists
and hide scars wider than the sky.
No one can see those scars or their process of healing until that gown is ripped off.

That shoe that you admire on someone houses blisters on sore feet.
Experience that walk in those Louboutins and then make your judgements.

How about that tongue that is so good at clicking lies,
whispering ‘I’m okay’ and yet deep down there’s a scream so loud it could shake the earth.
So much pain is hidden under that tongue.
The tongue is heavy and is good at sitting on pain…
the question is… can you lift it and share your hurt?

HE TOUCHED ME

Slowly I began to backslide but He kept on pushing me forward

every time I took 10 steps back He would carry me 20 steps forward

He said no I will not let You go back.

He touched me

I ran away from His presences rebelled against Him,

He said I am your father my love for you is unconditional

I will never leave you nor forsake you

He touched me

I doubted His existence yet I so wanted to believe

I seeked His face day & night without ceasing

& to my surprise He revealed Himself to me as I desired

Even after all this I still failed Him

He touched me

I cried & begged for mercy not knowing

He had already forgiven me & forgotten about my sins

His love is unconditional love, no condemnation

He touched me
