Done with Avon

Well I may be the MLM queen and all but I have had to decide on a business to give up because I am spread way too thin. I decided on Avon because orders go in every two weeks and when my orders are good I have a ton of deliveries to make. Scentsy and Herbalife don't require orders every two weeks and many of my clients will pick up these products. It takes the most energy and time for me to keep Avon clients as well. In my area it is easy to find someone giving a 40% discount and if I did that I would not even break even. After buying samples and brochures and gas for driving the products all over town I can't give any discount and make money.

Avon would only be good for me if I wanted to work it as a full time job. If I didn't have to compete with all the huge discount givers then I could make a great living doing this but no one starting out can afford to give these discounts.

I am not going to discourage anyone from joining Avon. They offer great products at a great price and if you are willing to put in the work to build up your customer base and work their rather complicated recruiting program you can make money. If you work very hard and focus on Avon only I think you could very easily make a living doing it after about a year. You could make a good side income as soon as you get a regular client base but you have to work hard for little pay at first.

There is an exception to this and it is if you have a lot of friends and family that love Avon and are willing to support you and refer you to their friends and family you could climb the ranks very quickly. I didn't have such great luck with this but a few in my downline did. They have built up a great business starting with the people they know and branching out from there.

MLM Tip Make Lists

Okay I admit I simply can not get anything done without a list. I need a detailed list sometime to the point that I have to include feeding the animals just to make sure I don't forget one of them. The list will actually say:
Feed dog
Feed chickens
Feed cat

I am working with three MLM companies I just started the third one and I am having trouble organizing them so I am throwing around the idea of having several lists. When I get really busy I have two lists one says "Need to do" on the top and the other says "Would like to get done" on the top. Now things are getting harder to keep track of so I am thinking of making four daily lists and using a highlighter for the things that must be done that day. So I will have a personal, Avon, Herbalife, and Scentsy to do list.

You can put everything you need to do on your list that includes following up with customers, send thank you notes, send motivational not to recruit, or just to take 10 minutes to read through new product materials. Your lists can be on paper or on your computer or tablet just start making them. It will help you organize your business and stop missing or forgetting important things.

MLM Tip Send Cards!

Send cards for every occasion you can think of. Holiday, thank you and blank (with a personal note) or inspirational cards are great to encourage your down-line and increase sales. Customers love to hear from you and in many cases you will get that call for the product they had been meaning to call you about.

I have been slacking on this so it is my goal this week to get some cards out there. So stock up on cheap cards at the dollar store and throw a personal note and a business card in and you will have a low cost marketing tool to build your business.

New MLM Venture

I am working for three MLM companies and I love them all. I am not always happy with every aspect of each one but I love the products. I am here to share my experiences with you and some tips and trick that work for me.

I just started selling Scentsy and it has been a slow start for me but I shouldn't be surprised because that is how I work. Some people have more customers than they can count when they first start there businesses simply because they have already been networking. I was rather isolated when I started selling and it took months to really get going. I hate high pressure sales people and I was determined to meet my goals with out high pressure tactics. My goal was..and still is to build a business with customers who trust me! I don't want people to run for the hills when they see me.

So I am going to share some tips that have helped me build my customer base and what works for me to keep them coming back and not running for the door every time you enter the room. Stay tuned for weekly tips to help you grow your business. As tips come in it may be daily but I have a lot on my plate and I don't want to promise something I can't deliver. Thanks!

Just wanted to say hi and get this site up and running. My name is Carrie Sund and I sell Avon and Herbalife products. Why? Because I love to use these products. I am working at making a living in sales but I have a lot to learn. I thought I would use this blog to document my journey and help others that want to take a similar path.
