Even though Google+ seems simple, it hasn’t been for me. So I have put together a series of tutorials I have found that should help us get started with google+. Google+ is a brand new social network, so if we embrace  it like we do Facebook imagine the following you can grow as the network gets bigger and more popular. I will present the tutorials to you as a series of 11 blog post, one for each section.

How to use this resource

For newer users of Google+ (G+), it may help to skim through Section 1 on “Getting Started” and pick several items from “Overview”. The remainder of these pages can be referred to as needed after you become more comfortable and familiar with Google+. Part of the fun is just jumping right on in, exploring each feature, and learning along the way. Help is always here if you need it, and you can also just ask around–the G+ Community tends to be helpful, informative, and friendly.

“Quick Start” (Section 1) is composed of 1-2 page high-yield infographics containing the minimal technical information useful for the simplest of G+ experiences. This if for individuals who like the least amount of introduction and who like to learn as they go.

“Overview” (Section 1) contains G+ tips, personal recommendations, user experiences, and describes the overall G+ environment in a way that is more elaborate than “Quick Start” but less comprehensive than the full “Guides” section.

“Beginner Guides” (Section 2) have step-by-step walkthroughs, descriptions, and advice for the most important basic features of G+ to maximize your experience quickly without getting too involved or potentially overwhelmed. This is a well-rounded introduction to G+.

“Comprehensive Guides” (Section 2) contain an enormous amount of dense information, some of it repeated within other detailed guides. If you are looking to learn the in’s and out’s of G+, read through these to pick up on everything from basic to advanced tips and tricks.

“Circles” (Section 3) delves into circle management and maintenance. It is important to stay organized with circles because they determine how your information is presented in the Stream and how privacy (“who sees what”) is controlled.

“Photos” (Section 4) talks about uploading, sharing, organizing, and customizing pics.

“Hangouts” (Section 5) shows examples of creative uses of Hangouts and Hangout resources.

“Google+ People and Statistics” (Section 6) provides a list of sites for where and how to search for G+ users based on a variety of criteria. Some of these sites are also useful for maintaining and sharing public circle lists and for viewing user statistics. “List Names” are aggregated lists of people found in particular G+ niches and communities.

“Google+ Blogs and News” (Section 7) provide general and comprehensive information focused on what’s happening in Google+.

“Extensions, Tools, & Apps” (Section are meant to enhance or modify the G+ user experience. This is not meant to be an all-inclusive list. Note: use of these extensions and services are “as is” and at your own discretion. Several extensions may require access to your browser activity and G+ profile.

“Privacy” (Section 9) provides resources to maintain privacy and security on G+.

“Suggestions and Feedback” (Section 10) lists ways to provide constructive criticism for improving G+.

“Graphics & Icons” (Section 11) contains Google Plus-related fan art, graphics, icons, and desktop wallpaper.
