St. Cloud police are looking for information about a burglary reported Monday night in the city’s south side.

A resident called at 9:35 p.m. in the 1400 block of Sixth Avenue South. Someone cut through a screen to get into a bedroom window sometime between 4:45 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., police said.

The suspect stole a laptop and a book bag. The 35-year-old St. Cloud victim was asleep in a separate bedroom and was not harmed.

Coon Rapids police and the Anoka County sheriff's office are looking for a man accused of entering a Coon Rapids home and sexually assaulted a 6-year-old girl.

Police were called to a home on the 11600 block of Unity Street at about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday on a report of a sexual assault.

According to authorities, a man knocked on the front door and told the girl he was conducting a survey. He then began asking the girl who else was home.

The girl's teenage sibling was in another room asleep at the time. The man urged the girl not to wake her sibling and assaulted the girl. The 6-year-old began crying and the suspect fled on foot.

The suspect is described as a white male with light, short hair and a balding hairline. He also had an "orange" or red beard. Investigators say he was also wearing a black shirt, blue jeans and black shoes with white accents.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call investigators at 763-427-1212.

Teach your kids NOT to open the door, for anyone. Then, test 'em.

LAKE CRYSTAL, Minn. -- A family member has identified the body of a person found dead in a home in Lake Crystal early Tuesday morning after an apparent home invasion.

The victim has been identified as 26-year-old James Mervin Nibbe of Lake Crystal.

The Blue Earth County Sheriff's Office found a dead person after responding to a burglary call near Lake Crystal.

Authorities were called to the home, located at 51275 176th St., south of Lake Crystal, just before 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Blue Earth County authorities have declined to release more information, including whether anyone has been arrested. They say the incident appears to be isolated and it is believed that there is no threat to the public at large.

MANKATO, Minn. - A man who answered a knock on his apartment door in Mankato on Monday was knocked to the floor by several men and robbed.

Mankato police were called to the Highland Hills apartments around 9:22 p.m. on a report of a home invasion and robbery. According to police, the man heard a knock on his door, but the peephole was blocked when he tried to look out into the hallway.

The man opened his door and was pushed to the floor by three or four men who entered his apartment. A weapon was not shown, but was reference.

MAPLEWOOD, Minn. - Maplewood police are looking for three men who were involved in a home invasion on Wednesday afternoon.

The home is located at 1741 Edgerton Avenue in Maplewood. A woman was in the home at the time of the incident around 4:30 p.m.

She was not hurt and police say this incident was not random. Two of the men were armed.

Police are asking residents in Marion Township to be more vigilant about locking their doors after two more burglaries were reported in the area Thursday morning.

According to Rochester police Lt. Casey Moilanen, between 2:30 p.m. Wednesday and 6 a.m. Thursday, a house in the 1800 block of 36th Avenue Southeast was burglarized after the resident had left a garage door open overnight.

Moilanen said they believe the burglar went into the garage and entered the house through an unlocked door. A purse and briefcase were reported missing.

Frazee, Minn - A man broke into a rural Frazee home and stole a 32- inch-flat screen television and then took off on an ATV Monday, according to the Becker County Sheriff's Office.

A doggy door proved the perfect entry point for a burglar who crawled into a southeast city home while the residents slept Tuesday night and fled with more than $700 in cash.

Sgt. Scott Behrns with the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office said family members were home and heard noises, but fell back asleep.

They also heard their dog growling, but didn't think anything of it, Behrns said. When they awoke, a purse and wallet containing more than $700 in cash and keys to the family car were gone.

Officers were called about 5:13 a.m. to the 300 block of Fifth Avenue South. Police met with victims, a 23-year-old St. Cloud woman and a 26-year-old St. Cloud man, who said they woke up to the burglary, according to a St. Cloud police report.

Moorhead police say a woman used a window fan to block a suspected burglar from entering her apartment early Wednesday.

Officers responded to the burglary report at 2:57 a.m. at 518 32nd Ave. S.

According to a news release from Lt. Jim Nielsen, the resident heard someone trying to enter her living room through an open garden-level window.

The male suspect forced his head through a window screen, but the resident was able to prevent his body from coming through the window by holding a window fan that had been in the window.

The suspect left the area on foot and was apprehended by police about a block away.

A woman woke in her St. Paul apartment this week to find a man sexually assaulting her, prosecutors allege.

Her 1-year-old child was in bed with her at the time, according to a criminal complaint filed Friday against Victor Lenard Cullom, 26.

The victim told police she had seen the man around the building but had never talked to him.

Here is the account in the complaint:

Police were called to an apartment in the 1000 block of Arkwright Street on Thursday. A 32-year-old woman "was crying and visibly upset."

She told police that one of her children must have left the apartment door unlocked. When she woke up in her bed, a man was performing a sex act on her. She told him to leave, and he ran out.

The Hennepin County Attorney's Office charged a 25-year-old man with four burglaries in June and July, where, in three of the cases, the man threatened the victim with sexual assault.

Michael Brian Hill, of Minneapolis, is charged with first-degree attempted burglary, first-degree burglary, third-degree attempted sexual assault and terroristic threats.

The incidents occurred June 2, 7, 11 and July 5, according to police. In each case, Hill allegedly threatened the victim with sexual assault through their window and said he would shoot them. In one case, Hill allegedly entered a ground-floor apartment at 4 a.m. on Erie Street, where a woman was sleeping.

St. Cloud police are looking for information about a burglary reported early Thursday.

Officers were called at 3:31 a.m. to the 600 block of Sixth Avenue North for a burglary in progress. When officers arrived, they saw a man fleeing the area, Sgt. Jason Burke said.

A resident reported hearing footsteps on the main floor of the house while inside the home. When the resident went to investigate, an unknown person was walking south from the residence.

The resident reported a purse and wallet were taken from the kitchen. The purse, along with all of its contents, was found near the scene where the suspect fled.

Anyone with information about this incident should call police at 251-1200 or Crime Stoppers at 255-1301.

St. Cloud police are investigating a burglary early today at a residence in the 2000 block of Hillcrest Drive.

The incident was reported at about 4:51 a.m. today when a victim reported being awakened by the sound of breaking glass in the kitchen.

The victim told police they saw the unknown suspect crawling out of a broken kitchen window and a purse had been stolen. It is believed that the suspect was looking for targets in the area, according to a St. Cloud police report.

An investigation showed the suspect used a large rock found at the scene to smash the window, took the purse and fled the area, according to the report.

In a statement, police say the woman returned home around 5:30 a.m. June 19 to find the intruder in her home. He then blindfolded and bound the woman, drove her to an unknown location and held her for about 24 hours.

Someone entered the home in the 900 block of Seventh Avenue South and stole a 50-inch Insignia TV and an Acer computer, police said. The incident was reported at 6:08 a.m. today.

ST. CLOUD, Minn. -- A St. Cloud man awoke Tuesday morning to find a long gun pointed at him and several men burglarizing his apartment.

Police were called at 4:03 a.m. to the apartment in the 1700 block of 16th Street Southeast. The victim said four men entered his unlocked apartment while he slept and stole his TV and Xbox console, St. Cloud Police Sgt. Marty Sayre said.

The victim awoke as the men were leaving and found one of the men pointing a long gun at him, Sayre said.

A complete description of the four men was not available.

A police dog tried to track the men but a search of the neighborhood turned up nothing.

Minneapolis Police have issued a Crime Alert concerning a series of
incidents in southeast and south Minneapolis and are advising the
public to take extra caution to avoid danger. In the past three weeks,
a man fitting the same description has threatened or attacked three
women. The most recent attack was the most brazen and occurred just
off campus, close to the Argyle House and Dinnaken House student
residences (see map below). The details of the incidents include:

- At 4 a.m. on _June 11_ in the 400 block of SE. Erie Street, a man
spoke to a woman through a window and then broke-in. The victim fought
back and was able to get away. - Just before midnight on _June 7_ in the 800 block of River Mews Court, a man appeared at a woman's bedroom window and threatened her
with physical and sexual assault. He tried to enter the window, but
the victim ran and called 911. - At 5 a.m. on _May 31_ in the 5600 block of Nicollet Avenue S., the man cut a bedroom window screen and threatened a woman with both
physical harm and sexual assault. She left the room, and the suspect
did not enter the home. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately five feet,
eleven inches tall with a light or medium build. The suspect has
shoulder length hair in braids and is 18 to 30 years old.

The University of Minnesota Police Department, along with the
Minneapolis Police Department and the Minneapolis Park Police, all
have intensified patrols in areas where the suspect may be working or
living. Residents are encouraged to keep doors and windows locked, or
to secure windows so that they can open only partially.

Within a day of a home invasion and robbery in Eden Prairie, police tracked down and arrested three suspects. According to Eden Prairie Police Sgt. Bill Wyffels, three masked intruders entered a home late Thursday night on the 9800 block of Dorset Lane. Five people were in the residence at the time and one of the victims was beaten by the suspects during the robbery. The same victim, in trying to defend himself, grabbed a knife and managed to stab two of the three suspects, later identified as Matthew Vincent Suarez, 22, Victor Lee Childers, 24, and Renaldo Lamont Shell, 27.

91-year-old St. Paul woman robbed, assaulted in her garage

A 91-year-old woman had just parked in the garage of her St. Paul home Tuesday when she heard a man say, "Hello." She said "Hello," and turned to him.

"He just punched me and I went down," said Gloria Fuchs, whose face was bruised and swollen Wednesday. "I thought, 'Oh my God, what next?' "

The man, whom Fuchs didn't recognize, grabbed her purse and headed east down the alley.

"What in the world is wrong with this guy?" Fuchs asked.

Police haven't found the robber.

Brandon Lee Kier, 17, of 36625 Marten Drive, White Earth has been charged in Becker County District Court with two felony counts of first-degree burglary for his allegedly role in a home invasion.

According to court records, at about 6 p.m. on May 1, tribal police were called to a residence near the school in White Earth.

Kier was among several people who allegedly entered the home looking for money and drugs. Two adults and four children ages 4 to 17 were in the home. The intruders were persuaded to leave, but Kier, nicknamed “Bam Bam” allegedly came back inside and started fighting with a resident.

Another intruder began assaulting a person in the house and Kier allegedly kicked the victim in the head.

Kier and the other person left, saying they belonged to the Native Mob gang and threatening to return with guns.
