But I do love colour, and on a grey winter day like today I need colour.

COLOURlovers Palette: cactus bloom

This cactus was blooming at my best friend Claudia’s over the holidays. I love the intense pink, magenta and lavender of it. Can you tell I’m already thinking of spring? I always wish the seasons were slightly shorter than they are. I’m usually ready for winter way before everybody else and now I’m ready for spring early too (probably not before EVERYBODY else, but ya know). Spring 2012 is predicted to have many of these shades (this post). I’m busy filling my weekend with jewelry creation, product photography, editing, and listing new items in my ETSY shop.

It’s been very cold here for the past few days, so I’m day dreaming of spring, bare ankles and light sandals. Not sure where I’m going for spring break yet, but I’ll be thinking about it this weekend, you can be sure.

I’ve been loving gold, black & grey for a while, so I decided to use it to make my packaging a bit more neutral. That way, even though this is gorgeous, my jewelry will be the star. Over the holidays I was encouraged to go in this direction by all the lovely packaging ideas I saw online.

I ordered new cards too, but you’ll see those after they arrive.

I’ve been following Door Sixteen for a couple of years now and love Anna’s blog. She recently stayed up late to update her blog and I love it even more. I’ve been thinking of going more minimal and clean for a while, so I (not so) cleverly thought I’m going to change my template & design too. I wasn’t completely naive and I did do a backup, so not completely hopeless. The huge problem though is that Anna actually knows what she it doing. I actually have no idea. There-in lies the problem. So you will see a site in progress for a while. I’m working my hardest and I like learning this stuff, but we’ll just have to see.
