			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If you&#8217;ve read my &#8220;<a href="http://moreilley.com/2010/06/30/the-21-day-theory/">21 Day Theory</a>&#8221; posts then you know of the ever changing transformation of Mo. Lol! Well, it&#8217;s all about try, try, try again until you find something that works! I am LOVING The Belly Fat Cure! This change in diet &amp; lifestyle has made a world of difference in my life and in that of some very close friends &amp; family. We also hit the trail nearly every day for a walk or moderate jog; and now we&#8217;re working on re-incorporating P90X. See, once you start to feel amazing and healthy and GREAT about what you&#8217;re doing, it becomes easier to stick with it. I can&#8217;t wait to tell you more so stay tuned! 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><FONT SIZE="4">Well kids, we didn&#8217;t make it through the  21 days.</p>
<p>Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Lol! It&#8217;s all good. Let&#8217;s discuss what happened, why, and where I am with things now.</p>
<p>I made it all the way to Day 20 of my <a title="21 Day Theory" href="http://moreilley.com/2010/06/30/the-21-day-theory/">21 Day Theory</a> and then I let day 21 slip away from me. I don&#8217;t want this to seem like I&#8217;m giving excuses&#8230; I should have made it. I didn&#8217;t. I DO, however, want you all to know that I too struggle with staying on a workout/balanced diet regimen.  The goal through it all though is to just &#8220;Keep pressing play.&#8221;</p>
<p>On Day 21 I was so tired when I got up. Of course it was early with the boys and after feeding them breakfast it was time to hit the ground running. (Only not literally because at least THAT would have been a work out! Lol!) I had work to do online so I got sucked into cyber world. Then, it was time to eat breakfast myself. Then, it was off to work. By the time I got home from work it was time to feed the boys dinner. Then, we had a huge event at Wild Bill&#8217;s so I had to get ready for that&#8230; and then back out the door until 1:30am.</p>
<p>Again, no excuse. But I know that <em>most</em> of you have at some point (or presently) struggle with these same issues.A couple people asked me why would I tell you guys I didn&#8217;t make it. They said it would let you down and be disappointing because you were looking to me to be an example. Well&#8230; I am an example. Of what to do and what not to do; and what to do again. I say by me letting you into my slip up shows the reality of MY struggle and can still be just as encouraging. Instead of having another person saying &#8220;Yep, I did it. It was easy. I can&#8217;t believe you can&#8217;t get it together. (lol)!&#8221; I&#8217;m saying, &#8220;Hey guys, I effed up. Time to get it <em>back</em> together and keep it movin!&#8221;</p>
<p>So.. Day 22 we pressed play again. I love P90X and encourage anyone looking to change their life in a major way to get on the program. Tony says &#8220;Just keep pressin play&#8221; and that&#8217;s what I intend to do!! P90X makes me feel amazing. I saw results as early as the end of the 1st week and was really feelin it by week three. &#8220;It hurts so good!&#8221;</p>

<p>Hey guys! We made it into week 5 but missed two days. Week six we decided to repeat week 5 and still missed two days. I will say this, exercising 5 of 7 days isn&#8217;t awful BUT it isn&#8217;t the program. Soooooo&#8230; we&#8217;re starting over. On Monday, August 9th, we are starting P90X from the beginning WITH the eating plan. I&#8217;ll be keeping you guys updated on Twitter. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: small;">Like most of you, I am a creature of habit. Some good. Some bad. Then there are those not yet in existence&#8230; which is why I&#8217;m embarking on this journey. Whether you&#8217;re familiar or not with the &#8220;21 Day Theory&#8221; it goes a little something like this: There&#8217;s the rule that states, &#8216;repeat a behavior for 21 days and it will become so ingrained that it becomes habit&#8217;. This rule applies to making new habits as well as breaking old or bad ones.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: small;">I have plenty of areas in my life that need improving, but for this &#8220;experiment&#8221; let&#8217;s focus on exercise (and perhaps overall health). It&#8217;s all in the mind. I&#8217;ve started and stopped a &#8220;workout plan&#8221; twice already this Summer. The trick is to get your body to either match what you know you can do in your mind OR defeat what your mind is telling you you cannot do. I&#8217;m having to put aside all of my excuses and am REALLY putting the theory to the test with this! Here&#8217;s a glimpse into my journey&#8230;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: small;">In the Winter of 2008, I&#8217;d say I was in the best physical shape &amp; appearance (in my opinion) of my adult life. I weighed around 168lbs, had a golden tan (prob NOT so smart but I looked good), was exercising occasionally, and was eating fairly healthy foods (when I found time for a meal). Anyway, I looked damn good&#8230; see:</span></p>

<p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: small;">Come Springtime of 2009, I was still looking and feeling good. I stopped going to the fake and bake. Was holding strong around 170lbs and still eating pretty good. That is if you excuse all of the late night trips to Chinese Buddha or Landmark Diner. Ha! <p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: small;">Now we&#8217;re gettin somewhere. In June I got the awesome news that I was pregnant. In July, we find out it&#8217;s twins! Ready to fast forward 9 months? BAM!! <a rel="attachment wp-att-267" href="http://moreilley.com/2010/06/30/the-21-day-theory/preggolicious/"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-267" title="37 weeks" src="http://moreilley.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/Preggolicious-590x442.jpg" alt="" width="472" height="354" /></a>One week before delivering my awesome little men, here I stand at 260lbs. Yep, I gained 90lbs during my pregnancy. Everything was great &amp; we were all perfectly healthy. Then comes the part I wasn&#8217;t mentally or physically prepared to deal with.I lost 45lbs that first week after giving birth. What the?! It wasn&#8217;t the weight DURING the pregnancy that broke me down, it was the after effect. Lol! I was in this weird &#8216;reverse mommy body&#8217; stage. Not pregnant anymore, but not quite fitting back into all of my old clothes. So what did that mean? Time to work out! Of course that was short lived (both times) because well, I was busy with work, and twins, and life, and excuses, and more excuses.</span><br />

I&#8217;d have my &#8220;I look &amp; feel great&#8221; moments but I have also been having way too many &#8220;Yuk foo&#8221; moments about my body image. So, it&#8217;s time&#8230;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: small;">Here we are 4 1/2 months later. Time to stop b.s.&#8217;ing and get things together. I&#8217;ve been cooking a lot more which is cheaper and healthier than going out (stay tuned for more &#8220;Domestication of Mo&#8221; posts). I&#8217;ve just gotta stick with that and stop being tempted by the drive thru &amp; the weekend mailer coupons for restaurants! Lol! The goal is to test the &#8220;21 Day Theory&#8221; and create the habit of exercise. After the three weeks it SHOULD be habit and I SHOULD want to continue without giving it a second thought. Of course we&#8217;ve selected one of THEE most difficult workouts ever (P90X) to test the theory. Beyond the exercise, I&#8217;m really looking to make a lifestyle change (eating, sleeping, task managing, etc) and I think the discipline to workout everyday will help with everything else. Hopefully you guys will check in on me and hold me accountable; and maybe even get inspired. Please feel free to leave comments!</span></p>

Luckily for tonight&#8217;s dinner I was able to shake things up a bit (Lol) and use a white roasted garlic cream sauce rather than the good ol&#8217; marinara standby I usually turn to.</p>
<p><span style="font-size: medium;">Okay, let me be honest again&#8230; this dish was gonna be really tasty with spinach and portobello mushrooms but, the mushrooms had grown fuzz while in the fridge. Yea, I know. Gross.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: medium;">Dinner still turned out delish though with the minced garlic, red pepper flakes, and oregano giving it the little something it was missing in the end.</span></p>

<p>Below is one of my favorite pictures- First of all, I love L.A! Hugo&#8217;s has this amazing turkey burger that I order every time I&#8217;m out there. I get it with the works (turkey bacon, sauteed mushrooms, grilled onions, grilled chilies, guacamole, and vegan mozzarella.) Ridiculous right? So delicious!</p>
