This week, we have been battling the wet weather, not creating. Don't worry - all is safe here and no water made it into the house, only the garage - and we will tackle that once things dry out a little. And the weird wet summer continues here in Sydney! I can’t recall the last day without at least a sprinkle of rain. It is yet another soggy soggy day today, a bit of a downer as I took today (the errant Friday between Australia Day and the weekend) off from work to finish our renovations, not to hibernate. In any case, at least it is great treasury inspiration (have you seen Summer Rain in the City?) and good crafting/blogging weather. Stay dry and have fun, my friends! It has been a busy week, but here are a few creative highlights of the latest news and activities:

I finally shared some photos over at Creativity Unmasked of the furkids on their new Christmas Bow Wow Beds. Check them out here (PS great beds too!)
I got creative on Etsy with two new treasuries in honour of Australia Day, coming up on Thursday this week: Green and Gold (the national colours) and Southern Cross (inspired by the flag). Check them out and give them some love. :)
The lucky winner was drawn in the January Moags and Smeet Giveaway. Don't worry - if it wasn't your lucky day this time around, the next giveaway starts in just a few weeks. February is my birth month, so I think I will make it something special...hmmm...

Happy New Year! I hope that 2012 brings health and happiness to you and yours. Happy holidays, my friends. I will be taking the next few days to relax and enjoy the holidays with my own family, but I am sure you know me well enough to know will still be checking in on-line. :) I wish each and every one of you a wonderful weekend, whatever your own celebrations and beliefs may be. May your holidays be filled with love, laughter and wonderful memories in the making.

Here is one of the many hilarious moments captured in our attempts at family portraits - cat and dog included. Tig was most displeased at the idea of posing, but Oli is a camera tart. How handsome does he look in his new festive collar from Pret a Pawte? The boys have a matching set - an early Christmas present from their crazy "mother" - more pictures to follow after the holidays. Countdown to Christmas

Hey there blog-friends! I hope that your countdown to Christmas is going wonderfully. Chaos continues to reign on this end. :) My shopping is almost done, baking not started, and still another day in the office to go before holidays. Aiee! In between the madness, however, I have been sharing the love with fellow creatives in treasury form, posting at Creativity Unmasked and (yipee!) mailing out purchases from M&S on Etsy which will contribute to the RSCPA holiday donation (read more here). I haven't been able to spend nearly as much time as I would like creating or blogging with you, but look forward to catching up with you on my Christmas holidays. :) Family photo card to follow soon! Hooray for the fabulous Studio Lakshmi and Lakshmi's Something Blue Treasury for making Etsy's front page. Adding to the awesomeness, my little Going Global earrings were in it. How cool! My very first front page appearance.

In other daily awesomeness (such a good day for a dreary Wednesday), my little creations were also in this gorgeous Game of Thrones Collection (love that series) and an Aussie Christmas Collection. Yipee!

Weekly Wrap Up

Good morning! It has been another busy week here, marked by the notable milestone of November giving away to December which means that its is now officially summer here in Australia and it is also acceptable holiday etiquette to put up the tree - yipee! Check out the fabulous Peruzi pendants recently purchased for my bead stash - aren't they gorgeous? They are very "me" - especially the green - so much so that I think that I might have to make myself something special (gasp...I know!!!). Is it wrong to make myself a Christmas present? I have been very good this year. :)

A Purrfect RSPCA Christmas

As I filtered through my return mail after a week away, I came across a flyer from the RSPCA fundraising for the holidays. There has been an increase in the number of neglected and abandoned animals taken in for care by the RSPCA and, sadly, Christmas is a busy time of year with people failing to make the realisation that pets are forever when buying a furry friend for under the tree. I breaks my heart. I would adopt each and every single one if I could. :(

Alas, I can't be a super rescuer of all creatures, great and small, but I can donate. With the encouragement of Oli and Tig (my lovely furbabies pictured above), in keeping with the spirit of the season, that 100% of all sales at Moags and Smeet now through to the end of the year will be given to the RSPCA in January to help with their holiday intake. Yep, 100% of every single sale (excluding the shipping). It is just a little bit of goodness in the spirit of giving for a fantastic cause.

Sorry folks...I have been a little remiss in my blogging here at Moags and Smeet recently - distracted by life and work, and blogging about other peoples goodies over at Creativity Unmasked. Yes indeed - another giveaway already! As many of you already know (and I thank you for your wonderful support!), I started blogging at Creativity Unmasked not so very long ago as a way to share more of what I love with the blogging community. Since being bitten by the blogging bug here at Moags and Smeet, I grew to love the sharing and the connection - the community is one of the most wonderful aspects of the handmade/indie scene. I like sharing things that interest me, items that catch my eye and featuring our fellow artists and sellers. Creativity Unmasked allows me full freedom for that creative outlet.
