FirefoxOS you say? but that's just a dev project, it's never going to come out, au contraire my friend! a stunningly intelligent developer over at the XDA-Developer Forums managed to compile it on the trusty old HTC Explorer also known as the HTC Pico, now it is no way near fullly functional or daily driver worthy, things like the SIM card reader dont work (though some have reported it working) video camera, Bluetooth and a few other things, but other things are working, like Hardware Acelleration, the touchscreen and the still camera.

But this is a first build, he hasn't labeled it as an Alpha or Beta so im just calling it a first release, but either way, some of the apps on the phone and some parts of the UI itself , are astoundingly responsive and snappy (for a 1st release), Things like scrolling in the Email client, or once its fully loaded scrolling in the twitter client, and i keep saying this, things probably shouldnt be this good or a first release, this is probably more functional than even the most recent Ubuntu Touch Smartphone OS Builds which astounds me, and again, it isnt that slow, of course with a 600Mhz CPU and 512MB of RAM this is never going to fly, but it feels (responsively wise) like a Samsung Galaxy Y.

So if you want to check it out (for test purposes only) here is the link to the XDA-Developers thread :

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2197319

Now , back up first, and do so at your own risk, you are the only person responsible if something goes wrong, though honestly, to do this you flash a single .zip file, like an Android ROM, which is crazy easy, and if you cant do this, you probably shouldnt be doing this yet, read up a bit more on XDA.

Rant Number one is about IR Blaster in Phones, and why they should die quickly, painfully and quietly.

Rant number two, i say what i like and what i dont like so much about the HTC One

This third video isnt just a rant its more of a Galaxy S4 in general video, and i rant about a few things in there.

Now this 4th rant video is one quite near and dear to my heart, Wireless charging, just watch it, i cant talk about it anymore (sobs quietly in the corner)

And lastyly a little rant about NFC and the Sony Xperia Z

and that was my 5 rant videos guys, and put it this way, i know 5 sounds like a lot, but it was either 5 “short” videos or 1 single 37 minutes rant video, and i ddont think anyone wants that.

Now that the Galaxy S4 has been announced, there are two very distinct camps about it , the "wow this is great" camp and the "WTF Samsung this is an Galaxy S IIIS" camp . now i fall in the former of the two, but i know a lot of peope fall in the latter, now i must preface this with saying that i have never seen the Galaxy S4 in person i've only seen renders and Photos taken by news outlets such as The Verge and Engadget, the Galaxy S III on the other hand i have seen and handled numerous times and my girlfriend has one.

A lot of people i know have been talking about the Galaxy S4 and comparing the jump from the Galaxy S III to the Galaxy S 4 as the same type of jump between the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 4S, in the sense that, it's a minor upgrade that isnt really worth it, now i dont understand why this is, if you think about this spec by spec, this is much more akin to the jump betwen the iPhone 4S and the iPhone 5

visual comparrisons aside, if we look at it on a spec to spec basis, Of course the S4 is an iterative upgrade, but its the same iterative upgrade as the iPhone 5 , they iterated on almost every component, making it better, making it faster , making its slimmer etc, if it really was the upgrade from the iPhone 4 to the 4S , samsung would have thept the same body, the same screen, the same battery and all they would have upgraded would be the SoC and the camera essentially, if they had done that, i would understand why people would be pissed, but Samsung didn't do that, they made the screen bigger, the made it (much) higher resolution, they made the camera 13MP and added some crazy ass floating gestures to accompany The newest version of Android available! they upped the RAM to 2GB, they made it thinner, they made almost every aspect of this phone better, and it does look different, yes, very slight difference that are not noticible to most people, bu atleast they didnt keep the same shell as the S III and shoe horn some new internals in, for those of you wondering, here is a little chart of the specs between the two :

for the record, if the chart looked like this, i would be pissed, and i would understand why some people call it a Galaxy S IIIS

but it doesnt, it looks like the first chart, and like i said, they are doing something that no other Android OEM is doing right now, they are launching with the newest version of Android available at the moment, Jelly Bean 4.2.2, for comparisson, the HTC One has 4.1.2 and 4.2.2 launched in mid January.

So i ask again, Why all the hate for the S4? is it because of its use of plastic? because if it is, my answer is : Really? look at a first gen iPhone with an Aluminium back now and see what a state its in, have a look at a HTC Legend and see what a state its in, same with the HTC Desire HD, the Original Motorola Milestone (DROID) my point is that whilst the plastics (Polycarbonate if you prefer to use their term) Samsung used might not feel 100% premium and worthy of a flagship, tell me how many snapped backs you have seen from an S II ,and an S III, and a Note and Note II? and all the other Hypreglaze/Plastic backed phones that samsung make? i would almost bet the Samsung looks better at the end of the 2 years, and if it doesnt, you can change the back, how crazy is that, a back cover, that you can remove and et a new one if it does so happen to break, or get scratched up and ends up so ugly you cant bear it, also, if your battery starts depleting at an Alarming rate, there is this crazy technology that lets you remove the battery, and put a new one in, or an extended one if you are going on a crazy roadtrip and wont be near a power plug anytime soon, my point is, HTC's reason for sealing the battery in is it can make the phone thinner, samsung made a slimmer phone with a bigger battery and that battery is removable, im not sure how anyone responds badly to that?

Anyway guys, sound off in the comments below if you think im an idiot, or if you think im biased towards Samsung, or think that the S4 is awesome and how dare other people be mean to your little baby, i want to hear what you guys have to say about it.

The Next Galaxy is here guys, are you excited? i am, though a lot of people arent, a lot of people are comparing this to the jump (or lack thereof) from the iPhone 4 to the iPhone 4S, but i cannot see why, below im going to Post what i think are the main specifications of the Galaxy S4 and below them i will post the main specs for the S III

Some of these Specifications are a marked improvement, i didnt list any of samsung value software add ons there because personally i think they are rather useless. But nevertheless if you just look at the raw specifications, Samsung changed almost every aspect of this phone in a shell not much larger (though considerably thinner) than its predesessor.

But i'll save the rest of that rant for a feature hopefully coming to you guys tomorrow. there is't much we know baout the phones availability apart from it'll be available on 327 Mobile Operators (they never said whichs ones, which is good because 327 would have taken a while) in 155 countries, they said the UK should get it late April (April 26th is the lucky date i've heard) so there you go guys, sound of in the comments below, do you like the S4 , do you think it was much of an improvement on the S III? do you think Samsung Copped out? do you think this phone is the next ruler of the world and we should all go cowering in our basements now with hoods so the creepy eye tracking feaures cant work on you? i want to know, and as always guys, keep it civil.

The second part of my Nokia Lumia 920 Review ,courtesy of Nokia Connects, those lovely people let me borrow one for two weeks to use as my primary device for two weeks, now this part of the video focuses mainly of the very few things that i found a didnt like with the 920 during my time with it. and like i said, there were very few.

below is a few more shots and a Video from the 920

This was taken on the Motorway coming home from london at about 6/7PM no flash

Inside the car about 5 minutes after the first shot was taken, this time flash was used, you can see the consequuence of the flash in the photo.

a shot i took when ripping the inside of my car out, i found a hole behindd the rear wheel arch, anyway off subject, you can see the detail not too bad (the photo not the hole, thhe hole is kind of bad).

Thiis Lion is the Logo to my younger brother's school, if you Zoom in close you can see the detail of thee embossed paper underneath, actually this is the first photo i took with the 920.

the second shot to the Bag of seeds in the Nokia Lumia 920 Review Part 1 , same conditions, no lights, no flah used and about 1AM, absolutely phnomenal low light capabilities on this beast.
the First part my Nokia Lumia 920 review, i just want to send a massive thanks out to the Guys at Nokia connects who were the awesome people that let me borrow this for a few weeks, and i want to ssay that anyone hopinggtotry somthinng out, just gogle "trial a nokia" andyou should find your way :).

Now this first part is focused mainly on the things i really like about the 920, and boy are there a few things that i loved abouut this phone, check out the Video for the details, below are few shots from te 920, and the part 2 will have a few morre and maybe a video shot.

<-- this was taken at 10AM in a MOT centre in the UK, thats actually what it looked like that day, great detail.

Thiis Next one is my mate Jack's Cat Phoebe who happily posed for the photo here, no flash was used on this.

My old house in North London, again no flash, spectacular optics on this phone.

Now this shot is incredible, this was taken at 1AM with no flash and no lights on in my room, the only light was from my TV on the other side of the roomm, which was dimmed, this wasnt even that bright to my Eyes!.

Ths is my cat Dec, apart from his menacing stare you can see, another great photo.

This photo actually has the flash utilised, the only one in my collection on here, and its not bad for an LED flash, but that image quality, makes my jaw drop everytime.

My Mate Liam in the bacckground there, playing truth or dare Jenga (Green is Truth, Red is Dare, White means do nothing) , no flash, one light on to the far right of the photo, 11PM (ish)

Hope you enjoyed that Guys

Hey Guys, an Awesome Canadian company called DBrand.Inc have lots o skins, for a multitude of devices, one of them, is the Nexus 4, and boy have they got the Skin for me, and more than likely, they've got the Skin for you, i got the Black Carbon Fibre skin, but they also do a White Carbon Fibre, a Titanium skin and they also do Leather in a multitude of Rainbow colours, check them out, cheap at $9 CAD, easy to apply (unless you have unusually shaky hands like myself) and a precision cut finish, put it this way, if i could remove the glass on the Back, and wrap the glass 100%behind to make sure it never came off, i would do it, it looks and feels that good, check them out.

Also check out +Taylor Martin on Google+ and as @CasperTek on twitter, he showed me this and its awesome , so Thanks Dude.
Have you seen the Ubuntu Smartphone OS ? if so, do you (like myself) LOVE the idea of a gesture based smartphone (yes WebOS we hear you wailing) if you answered yes to that question too then i thin i have the answer for you, a cunning Dev on Android has released what appears to be a perfect replica of the favourites bar at the left edge of the screen, you can dock your favourites apps there (duh) and i'll tell you one thing, app switching between your main apps becomes super super easy and has made me use my phone a lot more and made using my phone quicker for the things i want it to do.

there is a free version and a paid version, the paid gives you the ability to dock as many apps as i want, the free only gives you access to 8 or 9 i believe and limited settings like opacity and themes etc.

*For some reason i cannot find this app or developer on the play store anymore so im not sure whats happened but if i find out i shall update the post with a link to the playstore*

The Z10 is here, the new BlackBerry (in name and features) is here, are you getting one? i want one, but for me at this time its too expensive, it's too expensive off contract for me (i just bought a Nexus 4) and on contract it's to expensive, first off ,there are no "cheap" contracts for the Z10, they start at about £36 p/m over here, and most of them are asking for £50 for that, thats crazy, if im getting a new contract, it'll be with Three and their crazy cheap LTE Plans, let me just find a few of the "best" contracts that are being sold with the Z10 :

Orange :Dolphin 900 Minutes,"Unlimited" Texts,250MB Data
£36 Per month
£29.99 upfront cost for the phone

T-Mobile : Full Monty "Unlimited" Texts,Data and t-mo to t-mo minutes 2000 cross network minutes
£36 per month
£49.99 upfront cost for the phone

02 :Unlimited Texts and Minutes, 2GB Data
£36 per month
£129.99 upfront cost for the phone

Vodafone : Unlimited Texts and Minutes, 1GB Vodafone Data, 2GB BT Openzone HotSpot data
£37 per month
£69 upfront cost for the phone

EE : Unlimited Text and Minutes, 1GB 4GEE Data (god i hate the two e's EE put on 4G)
£41 per month
£49.99 upfront cost for the phone

so none of these contracts are cheap, these are the "best" all round contracts i have chosen/ the ones the companies recommend on their sites, i mean you can get a cheap contract, O2 offer a Z10 on a £13 contract, you just have to pay £399 up front and you get almost nothing, and EE charge a £5 premium to get 4GEE (god those e's frustrate me) and they own Orange and T-Mobile so you're getting the same signal whichever you go for, except that 4GEE is almost nowhere in the UK yet, and it definite isnt where i live ( :( sadface for Mobile-Dom).

Also, i think its worth noting that Carphone Warehouse and Phones4U have exclusives on the White Z10, which, in my opinion looks baller (it's the one i'd get)

i got a Friend of mines conscent to use his BlackBerry Z10 hands on Video , his youtube name is youtube.com/PDTechHD and on twitter he is @PDTechHD

so after all this, are you getting a BlackBerry Z10? if so, which contract? do you wish they were cheaper? sound of in the comments below.

also here is my video rant of the pricing above :

BlackBerry 10, something we have all been waiting for, for a while, BlackBerry 10 is a complete re-write of the BlackBerry Operating System from the ground up, now based on QNX (of PlayBook OS fame) the new OS looks to be, pretty phenomenal actually, well, at least to me, here's 10 reasons why i think BlackBerry 10 is going to be a hit :

1) A usable on-screen Keyboard : Any of you that had the (dis)pleasure of using a Torch 9860 had the (dis)pleasure of using it's atrocious on-screen keyboard, what appeared to be a nice looking keyboard had next to no auto-correct, haptic feedback or help in an way shape or form, it was BAD, which is a shame because RIM made Bar-none the best Physical QWERTY's out there. The new QWERTY on screen keyboard has an awesome auto correct and auto predict feature where it places the words it thinks you're going to use above the next letter and you swipe up to pick that word, I'm sorry, that's great.

2) Good Hardware : BlackBerry 10 brings round a new load of hardware, capable hardware, not severely outdated 600Mhz ARMV6 CPU's, no I'm talking Qualcomm Snapdragon S4's, Dual -core Krait Architecture, it might not be the Flashier S4 Pro (like in my Nexus 4) but its still a more than capable chipset, and outside of North America TI's OMAP 4470 (as used in the Samsung Galaxy Premier) and Higher res screens, the Dev Alpha devices have had 4.2" 1280x768 screens (with a PPI of 356 or so) , though the only specified resolutions that are go for BB10 are 1280x720 and 720x720 (Square screens FTW!)

3) Newer, hopefully better, Apps : BB10 has a new App ecosystem, and Thank god, those of you who know me or follow me on youtube know i have a Blackberry, a Pearl 9100 to be exact, the apps are pretty dire, not because they're slow , though they are, but i attribute that to my slower phone than the apps themselves, my problem with the apps is that they suck, they look terrible, they're expensive, very expensive, and there isn't many of them at all, and with BB10 RIM has been doing Port-a-thons to entice devs to either write new Apps for BB10 or port their current ones to BB10 and the last time i checked i believe they had over 70,000 Apps ready for the BB10 launch at the end of this month, which is nearly quadruple the amount of Apps currently in the BlackBerry App World.

4) Up to date Connectivity : BlackBerry Smartphones have long used trailing networks, i mean , up untill 2010 most of their smartphones still had 2G connectivity, so with the news that BB10 supports, 3G, 3.5G, 4G, Wifi 802.11 A/B/G/N , and NFC, I'm quite excited as to what the future holds for BB10, maybe som Qi Wireless charging sometime in the future, who knows.

5) Video and Voice BBM Calls : this might just be a "me" thing, but i've always wondered why there was no type of Voice calls on BBM (i know BBM 7 update added this feature, but why did it take so long?) video calls i could understand, as no BlackBerry had a front facing Camera, but still, voice calls over WiFi should have been a pretty easy thing to implement.

6) Gestures : Man, oh man i love gestures, it's one of the few reasons i went and got a Pre, and a Pre 2, and a PlayBook, and why im looking forward to Ubuntu Smartphone OS and Jolla's Sailfish OS and of course BB10, once you've learnt gestures, using that OS becomes second nature, i'll tell you what, trying to go back to android after using WebOS for a while was very jolting and difficult, and even on underpowered hardware, it still felt smooth and worthwhile, all the gestures in BB10 look to be just as simple, and just as effective.

7) Work and Play Modes : now they aren't called this, but there is a mode to switch from a personal device of sorts to a work device, when its in work mode, Work emails get prioritized, work calendar events get prioritized, special security and you can only install apps sanctioned by the Administrator of all the devices, play mode as i call it, lets your phone be you, do whatever the hell you want with it, and you switch between the two modes via, you guessed it , a gesture.

8) A new Way to multi-task : BB10 has "Active frames" now these aren't widgets, and they aren't exactly live tiles, they are saved states of apps that you cant switch between quickly, using gestures, a swipe up from the bottom bezel gets you to the multi-tasking screen if you will, now im a fan of the way WebOS (and the PlayBook OS) do it personally, but hopefully i can get my hands on one of these to see how it all works, it looks smooth and functional, but not all that pretty, it looks a bit like MeeGo Harmattan on the Nokia N9 but more utilitarian.

9) A good browser on a BlackBerry, Finally : Now any of you that have used a BlackBerry know, the browser was never its strongest point, in fact it was the weakest link in rusty chain mail armour, but i digress, BB10 looks to have a phenomenal browser, from what i gather it in itself is a HTML5 app, ,and I'm not sure what trickery RIM have done, but this thing smokes the competition on test hardware and incomplete software, i look forward to when its actually released.

10) Hopefully, Innovation : Now RIM itself may not have innovated that much, the UI looks a bit like a mish mash of lots of different OS's jammed together, the gestures apart from the "peek" one seem lifted from other places and the hardware, though improved isn't top of the line any soon as this is released and stagnate again, i really want this to succeed, and for that to happen RIM, along with all other OEM's need or Innovate, whether it be on Screen technology, Camera, Batteries or SoC's, i don't care, someone needs to innovate, if it means RIM has to license the OS, then by all means do it, I like my BlackBerry, i use a PlayBook Daily as well as my pearl, I'd hate for them to die, it might be the novelty of using an underdog platform, but the novelty hasn't worn off in almost 3 years, I'm cool with that.

Here, it might be a few days late but i told you i'd start the uploading again! and here it is, the device i've got today is a simple HTC Explorer as a replacement for the HTC Wildfire S i unboxed about a year ago, that was my mum, and in the year she's had it ,its had bumps and scrapes and even been driven over, so to retire it i bought her this, a rough and tumble version of her phone, sit tight for the review.
this is crazy guys, you think i don't want to upload videos? wrong , you couldn't be farther from the truth, i haven't uploaded a video since early September , but not because i've been lazy, but because i seriously haven't been able to, and no it isn't a "oh i haven't got time because of Blah blah blah" (though i am super busy with work and college and have recently had a bereavement in the family) but because i haven't got the internet , yup, at the moment my ISP has limited my family to 1GB per day, and as soon as we hit the 1GB cap, they shut it off for 12 Hours, oh and did i mention there are 9 people trying to get on to the net at any one time? i can count for you , 1 tower, 5 laptops, 3 tablets ,7 smartphones and and 3 games consoles , that is what we have to share 1GB out between each day, and seeing as our upload is about 300Kbps anyway , if i tried to upload to upload even one of the 8 videos , it would cancel out so quickly and my family wouldn't be best pleased.

Hopefully on the 21st of November this problem should be rectified , as we will be getting GT Infinity (Fibre Optic broadband) 80Mbps Download and 20Mbps Upload, and Unlimited package (everyone has a fair usage ,but BT's is like 10000GB , so you'll run out of hard drive space before you hit that cap)

so keep that in mind, on the 21st of November i shall be spamming your YouTube subscription boxes with new(well old to me but new to you) Videos

Again, as the Title say, it isnt the First Im sorry post, and knowing my Luck it wont be the last but hey, i havent forgot about you
