At its best the information which I have provided has allowed many to avoid paying for their mobile phone calls, and this is all legal and applicable mostly to those who have a contract.

I strongly believe that this has helped many of you and also saved you money as well.

Now, another important thing that you should always look out for when choosing a mobile phone network is the network's coverage. Before signing up for a contract or even when buying a pay as you go phone. Please make sure that you are able to find out whether there is coverage in your location, or even the locations in which you intend on using the phone. Ignoring this important aspect could leave you with a phone with which you are unable to make calls from or even receive call with.

This may also mean that you may still be charged the full line rental for the duration of the contract. So never over look this simple are because you have fallen in love with a particular phone. Do your research and avoid getting stung.

What use is a mobile phone when you can't even use it in your own home?

I hope this post has been able to open your eyes into something that many of us overlook.

Feel free to forward it onto anyone whom you feel will benefit from reading it, by clicking on the envelope icon below

Despite being provided with free minutes and free text which we assumed was adequate for our needs some people still seem to get a huge mobile phone bill.

The reason can be down to the lack of monitoring of the calls and text or either.

There is a way of monitoring your text and free minutes and this is buy activating the minute counter, most phones have this feature and also a message count. By activating these features its is easier to monitor the minutes and text on a daily basis by just having a quick glance. The function will tell you how many minutes or text you have used and this number can be deducted from the number of free minutes or text which you have been provided by your chosen mobile phone operator.

Monitoring your calls and text will ensure that you never get a shock when your mobile phone bill arrives.

If you know of anyone who will benefit from this post feel free to forward it to them, by clicking on the envelope located next to the "comment text"

Look out for my next post that will offer you some more mobile phone bill saving tips.

Overlooking these important aspect will cost you money in the long run.

Never be pressurised into signing a contract, as this can come at a hefty price. There are many online bargains which you can look into and my word of advise is just before you purchase a mobile phone, make sure you read the check list in my blog. This will ensure that you save money and it may also mean that you may never have to pay for a mobile phone call again.

Once again take time out to read this blog and never pay for a mobile phone call again

When doing the calculation you will have to factor in the cost of the line rental. If on the other hand you have never had a mobile phone it is better to just make assumptions on how much you believe your spend will be, but this is not guaranteed to provide you with accurate information which you may need to make a decision. The best approach will be see whether your spend on a prepayment will be the same as what your proposed network operator will charge on line rental alone. If the proposed network operator also offers a lot of free minutes and these free minutes or text or combination of both is more than your spend then you may have bagged yourself a bargain. I can assure you that if you have the discipline to keep the text / call down to a minimum and keep within your allowance then you are better off going for a contract phone. One good thing about prepayment phones is that you are not been tied into a contract and you can change phones as you wish that is only if you have the means as most prepayment phones are not heavily subsidised by the network operator. I hope you have been able to learn some information about prepayment phones. Please look out for my next post which aims to provide more information on prepayment phones. This all depends on individual circumstances.

In this post I will highlight the reasons why a pay as you go phone can be beneficial to some of us. Please read the reasons below:

You can budget easier, as with a prepayment phone you cannot go over the air time which your phone is credited with. With a contract phone the operator might give you a credit limit which is above your means, which means if you make call on your contract phone to the tune of £200 the network will request for that bill to be paid or you might end up being threatened with disconnection or whatever action is deemed fit. A prepayment phone allows you to have more control over your mobile phone budget.

With a pay as you go phone you are not tied into a lengthy contract. This means you do not have any monthly payments to make unless otherwise stated by the network.

You can also use a pay as you go phone as a second phone without having to pay any form of line rental. I advise you to check out promotional offers on pay as you go phones.

Individuals with a not so good credit rating for one reason for another are able to own a mobile phone thanks to the pay as you go alternative. A while ago, before the introduction of prepayment phones you could only have a mobile phone if you had a good credit rating or where able to pay a deposit to the network or ask a member of the family to obtain one for you in their name. Things have changed now.

I hope you have been able to benefit from this post. Please look out for the next post which will inform you about the way a prepayment phone works and some more benefits.

This kind or price plan can be a good way for some of us to budget the spend on our phone calls. The reason is because your calls are limited to the amount of credit available on your phone and as soon as your available credit runs out no more calls can me made until the phone is topped up.

The rates on pay as you go phones differ from the various networks, and also tend to be more expensive than a phone on a contract. If you are someone who finds budgeting a task, then I recommend that you take a look at the various pay as you go contracts, but not before going through my check list within my previous posts.

Some operators attach conditions to pay as you go phones in the sense that some require you to use the available air time within a set time frame otherwise you may loose it. Others may require you to top up your phone within a certain time frame otherwise the Sim card becomes inactive. I also advise that if you intend on going for a pay as you go phone that you ensure that you find out whether there are any conditions attached.

In my next post I intend on writing about the benefits of owning a pay as you go phone.

Some of these people did not even make a call from their mobile phone and still got expensive bill. Some will wish that they knew what I am about to teach you in this post before they took their phone abroad. So carry on reading and never run up an expensive bill while you are abroad.

When you travel abroad with your mobile phone there are some charges which some people are not aware of, which include a charge for answering an incoming phone call and even a chagre when the call is picked up by your voicemail. Why is that the case? I sense you asking

The reason why you pay to answer a call or even when the call is diverted to your voicemail is because the call has to be routed to you by your mobile phone operator. In order to route the call to you, your mobile phone operator has to pay an international transit fee to the mobile phone network of the country which you are in. Because your network has had to pay a fee to the other international network to route your call abroad the fee is then added to your bill with a slight profit margin which your network determines. This can be expensive at times.

Here are few tips below to ensure that you do not get caught out with a huge phone bill when you travel for your summer holidays or even travel abroad.

Here are few tips below to ensure that you do not get caught out with a huge phone bill when you travel for your summer holidays or even travel abroad.

Always enquire about any special deals which your mobile phone operator may be offering for global roaming before you travel.

Make sure you are aware of the costs of the phone calls as this will allow you to budget and not be shocked when you receive your phone bill.

Deactivating your voicemail is a good idea, as you will also be paying for the call when it is taken by your voice mail,

If you need to answer a call or even make a call, keep them short and sweet.

Ensure your friends and families know that you are travelling and advise them to only contact you if it is an emergency. This forum is dedicated to providing impartial advice for subscribers and reader. By reading the posts and subscribing you are sure to get a bargain mobile phone deal. Yes the concept is aplicable to any country where a cellphone operator exists, so whether you call it handy, mobile phone or cellular or cellphone this blog is a must read.

Another aspect in selecting a mobile phone which may not be applicable to everyone is that you may want to look into is whether you will be calling international number or going abroad with your mobile phone. Some operators offer special international rates and competitive prices which are worth investigating.

If you are a frequent traveller then it is worth your while to ensure that the phone which you will purchase will have the capability of working in the country which you will be visiting, these phones come in the form of dual band, tri band and quadband. So just make sure that your phone will work using the frequencies of which the other countries phone operators work on.

Before you travel abroad it is a good idea to ask the rates you will be charged, as not only will you be paying to make a call back home, you will also be paying whenever someone calls you and you answer or even when your answering machine or voice mail picks it up.

<!--

Anyway on a more serious note, some of us tend to take our mobile phones with us in order to keep in touch with friends and families. What we don't realise is this can be a costly event when we get the bills.

What I will be writing in my next post is how to make sure that you save money and never run up a huge bill whilst you are enjoying your summer holidays.

please look out for this post as this post will save you a lot of money, which can be spent on buying other things

Some of you may be asking yourselves whether this is only applicable within the UK. The answer is NO as most mobile phone / cell phone operators tends to operate the same way. Reading this blog will help you in deciding what your requirements are, irrespective of the country you are based in, the information here has also been written with readers from other countries in consideration.

Making sure that you get things right from the start before purchasing a mobile phone can save you a lot of money, as you are not tied into a long term contract which you may not be able to afford, and also it ensures that the free airtime or text which you are provided with meets your needs and reduces the cost of your bills. It may even ensure that you never have to pay for a phone call, as you will just be sticking to your monthly allowance and not going over.

After you have been able to provide answers to the question in my previous posts, you should also make sure that you are aware of the length of the contract as that can determine how long you will have to stick with the phone and with the contract unless the network suggests otherwise. If you are an individual who likes to change phones on a regular basis without having to pay top cash for it then the duration of the contract is something that you may want to pay attention to. Contract periods differ from network to network and you may also be able to upgrade your phone before your contract expires, but bearing in mind that an upgrade can also tie you into another term with the network, or unless otherwise stated by the operator.

I hope this post has been able to provide you with some more impartial advise, if you know of anyone who will benefit from any of the post on this blog, please feel free to forward it on and spread the word of this great blog, by clicking on the envelope icon located next to the "comment" text. If it is for business use you may be entitled to the business tariffs which some mobile phone operators offer. This may also put you in a better bargaining position as you may need more than one phone for your business. If you also have a registered company there are are also many other tax benefits which you may be entitled to.

If on the other hand you are using it for personal use you should ensure that you go through the questions which I have stated in my postings before signing up for a contract or an upgrade. Asking yourself these questions will ensure that you get a great mobile phone deal and end up saving money on your phone bills.

I hope this piece of information has been able to offer some free advice to ensuring that you are able to secure a great cell phone deal which you never knew you could get.

If you have had a phone in the past and you are upgrading, then this task of determining how many minutes will be sufficient is much easier. The reason is because looking back on your past bills can provide an indication of your usage and this can be used as an indicator of how many minutes will be adequate for your needs. If you do not use up the minutes within the first month or second, there are some operators that allow you to roll over unused minutes / text for up to 3 months so you won't loose out too much.

Adhering to this does help in the contract selection process and also ensures that you have extremely low bills.

The reason this has occurred is because of the lack of research into how many minutes they feel they need on a monthly basis. Determining this information will assist you a great deal in selecting the most suitable budget price plan which will offer you a great saving.

If you feel that you will be using the phone a lot you will need to ascertain the number of free minutes you feel will be adequate. In some situations where you have chosen a price plan offering insufficient minutes and have gone over the free airtime, this could result in a high bill. If this has occurred you may be able to ask your network provider if you could switch to another tariff offering more free airtime or text or a combination of both. Some operators will allow you to switch between different price plans, but conditions do apply to most of them. If you are fortunate enough to be with a network which allows you to switch to a suitable price plan that you feel meets your needs, then it is worth while testing it out to see if the free minutes or text are adequate to meet your needs.

I hope you have been able to benefit from this post if you know of any one who will also benefit from the advise on how not to pay for a mobile phone call then please feel free to forward this post onto them.

Another question which you need to be asking yourself is whether you would be using the phone during peak hours (network specified day time) or off peak hours. (network specified evening/ night time). These hours vary from network and depending on the country you are based. Determining this will ensure that you select a suitable contract which will save you money. If you intend on using your phone during the day, you are better off with a contract which offers free day time minutes / cheaper day time rates. On the other hand if you are intending on using your phone in the evening a suitable tariff will be one with free evening airtime or cheaper off peak minutes. There are other tariffs available for individuals who intend on making a mixture of both evening and day time calls. These kinds of price plans offer you the facility to make calls anytime of the day without incurring a charge as long as you stick within your free minutes allowance and other guidelines. (ensure that you are aware of any restrictions by the network). I hope this information has been of great help to my readers and look out for the next post which will reveal the secrets on how to ensure that you never get a huge cellphone / mobile phone bill. This is another important aspect that needs to be looked into, the number of free minutes or text varies from network to network. The offers come in various forms such as. The free air time can be restricted to calling your own network, or cross network, which means you are allowed to call specified networks, it can also apply to a specific period of the day or can be anytime of the day. The flexibility varies. Please ensure you read the small print to find out if some networks may be excluded.

Here is a list of the most common.

* Anytime any network.
This offers free calls to any other mobile phone networks as long as you stick within your free airtime you will mot incur a charge. Ensure that you read the print to find out what the exclusions are.

*Off peak cross network.
This contract offers free calls during the evening to other mobile phone networks without a charge as long as you stick within your free minutes

*Local free evening calls.
This offers free evening calls to landline numbers within the UK or as stated by the network operator.

* National free evening calls.
This offers free evening national calls to landline numbers as long as you stick within your free airtime allowance.

* Inclusive text.
This may vary it can be restricted to the same number or cross network. The number of free texts also varies from contract to contract.
If you have owned a mobile phone before, the best way forward will be to have a look at how many minutes you use a month or how many text you send a month, analyse the findings and that will give a rough idea of how many text V free minutes meets your needs.

Choosing a price plan that offers the right amount of text and free minutes at the right price ends up saving you money as you might be able to stick within the free airtime and text and not incur a charge.

If you are going to be calling other networks then you are better off on a contract that offers free airtime to other network operators, and also if you will be using your phone anytime of the day consider a phone that offers this facility of free airtime any time of the day to any network / or same network, this also depends on whether you will be calling other / same network. If you text a lot then you might also want to take that into consideration whilst selecting your contract.

I hope you enjoyed this post and I shall be continuing with the other aspects in my next post

<!--

I highlighted the questions that you should be asking yourself before signing up for a mobile phone contract. And moreover going through the checklist will bag you a great mobile phone deal. I can assure you that these tips are never overlooked by many bargain hunters who end up getting a great mobile phone deal.

Today we are going to delve into the first questions which I listed.

* The maximum which you are willing to pay for a contract.
As we know the duration of contracts vary depending on networks, it can be between 12 - 24 months depending on the kind of arrangement you have with them.

Determining how much you can afford to pay for a contract enables you to budget and also minimizes the possibilities of defaulted payments, which some operators do not take kindly to at all. Defaulting a payment can result in additional charges being imposed by the network operators. Taking into consideration that you are entering into a legally binding contract with the network, this means you will have to meet your due payments. Its is a good idea to calculate the monthly line rental and multiply it by the number of months which the contract runs for. This provides an estimate of the cost of the line rental for the duration of the contract, considering that you stick to the same price plan throughout. This calculation does not take call charges into account, (this will be discussed separately including methods to cut call cost). If it seems high and you feel that you might not be able to meet your obligation, it is time to rethink. You may want to consider a cheaper line rental or opt for a prepayment phone, which I will be discussing about very soon. I hope this post has been able to provide you with valuable information. Please look out for the continuation and feel free to forward any of the posts to anyone you believe will benefit from reading it.

Firstly I will touch on the phone selection aspect. The best way to scale this hurdle is to first of all determine which phone you want, listing all the special features that you would like your ideal phone to have, be it battery life, music player, dual band, tri band or quad band, looks, accessories, image etc. Doing this will provide you with various options and selections of phones, which can then be narrowed down. Once this has been established you should also ask yourself how much you are willing to pay for the phone, or whether you willing to pay for the phone or obtain a free phone, at times a obtaining a free phone depends on the price you will be paying for your monthly subscription.

Now, if you are considering signing up for a contract, you should also ask yourself the following questions.
* The maximum that you are willing to pay for a contract.
* The number of free minutes / text or both that the contract offers.
* Will you be using the phone during peak hours or off peak hours or a mixture of both.
* Will you be calling other mobile phone networks.
* How many text or minutes you feel will be sufficient for your needs. (if you have had a phone or are upgrading you could look at your average monthly spend and this will provide you with a rough idea of how many free minutes or text will be adequate.
* Is it for business or personal use.
* How long the contract is for.
* whether you will be taking the phone abroad often / making international calls.

Those are some of the most important areas that need to be looked into when selecting a contract / upgrading. Adhering to this list could get you a bargain price plan, and save you money as well.

In my next post I will touch on the individual aspects listed, and how taking these aspects into consideration whilst selecting a contract / upgrading can save you money.

The numerous price plans which are being offered also can make it confusing.

Mobile phone operators operate in different ways, some allow you to switch price plans if an error was made and the contract chosen does not meet your needs, but this means that you will have to serve a minimum term on your selected tariff. The minimum term does vary from network to network.

This can be annoying especially when the bill arrives, as at times you can be worse off and locked into the price plan and helpless. Upgrading is another dilemma faced by some of us, the question will normally be shall I remain on the same price plan or shall I change to a new tariff

There are many factors which need to be taken into consideration before upgrading or signing on the dotted lines for a new mobile phone contract, as choosing the right price plan can be the difference between a higher than normal bill or an affordable one.

In my next post I will be focusing on factors that need to be taken into consideration when signing a new contract or upgrading to a newer phone.

Look out for this time saving informative post.

<!--
