My bb 9800 torch wont turn on or charge. When I connect a usb cable a red light shows on the phone for approximately 10-15 seconds. The light does not flash but turns off after 15 seconds. When my battery is inserted into the phone a red light does not show up, the phone does not acknowledge the precense of the battery. I suspect it is also ‘nuked’ as when connected to the computer it keeps disconnecting. Naturally I tried to restore os through apploader but it failed at ‘reconnecting to JVM’. What is the problem, how can I fix it? Could it be a dead battery?

I have noticed that maximum speed that is calculated / displayed by BB Traffic is not accurate at speeds over 100+ mph. The maximum speed displayed is less than the actual velocity of the vehicle speed and is significant by 10 mph or more. Actually, it appears to begin at 90 – 95 mph and degrades as velocity increases. Has anyone else noticed this? I have a feeling that this is attributed to GPS sampling rate somehow. Does anyone know if the sampling rate of the GPS can somehow be adjusted / modified for shorter intervals? Currently I am using a 9850 Torch with 7.1.0.163 on Verizon.

Hey guys, I’m posting this on the behalf of my dad. He’s planning to get a new 9900 this month and I’ve been wondering if the JM-1 battery on the 9900 is on par, or possibly better than the Bold 9700′s battery. I’ve been speculating a bit since the 9900′s Qualcomm Snapdragon is a 1.2 Ghz processor compared to the 9700′s ARMM 624mhz. That and the screen is larger and features a touch screen. I’m a bit confused because all other review sites have said that the battery runs nicely and it’s on par with the battery of the 9700. I’m just looking for advice from the more experienced and everyday users. Btw my dad uses his BlackBerry for texts, E-mails, BBM, and web browsing, but none of the apps. If you guys can help us out we’d be very thankful.

Cheers.

Is it sufficient if I copy to my computer a file containing the full content of the current 2 gb card, then copy that via the computer to new 32 gb card and just insert the new card in my 9900? Is there any reason to copy the old material from the computer to the new card via the phone? Does the phone have to format the new card first?

Sorry for these noob questions.

Many thanks.

Recently my bbmm has been actinging strange, and I can not seem to resolve it.

I like to sort my contact list by users with the least unique songs. That way. The users who are not subscribed come. To the top.

The problem is now I have around 50-100 people that showw not subscribed. When I click on there name it looks. Like they are indeed not subscribed but if I wait a few seconds there. Songs come back, and the yellow check mark apears again.

This seems to fix the problem, and I can see my total song count climb back up to near 12,000 songs.

But once I close the app and launch it again the users look unsubscribed. I am back to 9000 songs, and have to do it over again.

I have tried deleting both bbm, and bbmm but it still persists.

I could use some advice as this is frustrating.

BB10 is centred on “swipe from bezel” gestures for important actions like calling up menus and switching apps… but what happens if phones with a ‘bezel’ fall out of favour?

Fashions can change very quickly, I remeber the transition from mobiles with antenna to mobiles with an internal antenna – once the internal versions existed, nobody wanted an ugly antenna on their phone.

Looking at fan made concepts of BlackBerry phones and iPhones, hundreds of them have screens without an ugly bezel. The phones look radically modern and sleek.

There is a very real possibility that the new iPhone will not have a bezel, as they opt for a bigger screen without increasing the size of the handset. If this happens, it would look great but importantly, set the standard. We would most likely see lots of phone manufacturers follow suit and introduce bezel-less phones.

But RIM couldn’t, because BB10 wouldn’t work.

So if BB10 and the iPhone5 launch at the same time, something as simple as this will make RIM’s new handsets look dated immediately. They’ve invested all their effort in a glossy OS that needs a bezel, and yet if the iPhone5 lands without a bezel, the new BB phones could be DOA.

I got a hold of an Infuse 4g and I unlocked it for T-Mobile and I have to say that the Android OS is interesting to say the least. There’s so much that you can do in terms of customizing things and I love the web browsing for it makes it much easier because of the larger screen.

However, I do love my 9900 and I believe this Android device will be my backup phone when I go out, just in case of drunken shenanigans and what not; I’d rather drop this Android over my 9900.
