While the roll out of true 4G (LTE’s theoretical maximum is 100Mbps) is still a distant prospect here in the UK, Samsung have confirmed that the Galaxy S3 will have a DC-HSPA radio, DC standing for dual channel, and this doubles the download speeds from 21Mbps in currant devices to 42 Mbps. Currently, O2 have rolled out this faster network in the UK and Three and Everything Everywhere, the parent company of Orange and T-Mobile have said that plan to roll of DC-HSPA in the final quarter of this year. The Samsung Galaxy S3 no doubt will be a summer blockbuster with 9 million pre-orders and counting, and with DC-HSPA make the device an even more appealing prospect. So will you be buying the Galaxy S3, let us know in the comments below.

Rumours have surfaced that Google will release up to five devices for its next release of Android Nexus devices. All will naturally come with Android 5.0 jellybean and be sold directly to the consumer via the Google Play Store, cutting out the middle man and networks alike. This means that you can get the latest flavour of Android, without any network bloatware and customisation and skin overlays like HTC sense and Samsung’s TouchWiz to give the consumer a vanilla Android experience. It appears that Google will be teaming up with several handset manufacturers rather than the solitary one they have used for their previous nexus releases, thus removing some manufacturers concerns that Google’s acquisition of Motorola may create an unhealthy bias in an over wise open source project. The Wall Street Journal also report that a Nexus tablet will be released along the Nexus Smartphone, no doubt Google will hope their tablet will help start to change Apple’s dominance in the tablet area.

The Wall Street Journal report that sources have revealed to the that the next iteration of the Apple’s flagship mobile device, whether it’s the iPhone 5 of just simply the new iPhone will have at least a 4 inches display. With flagship devices from the handset manufacturers now going well beyond 4 inches, like the HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy S3 which both sport 4.7 and 4.8 inch screens respectively, Apple may be feeling the need to move beyond the 3.5 inch screen all previous iPhones have had. If so, without a bump up in resolution, Apple may have to sacrifice the “retina” element of its display, where the density of pixels are such that none are able to be seen with the human eye. And while a change in screen size is still speculation, we would be very surprised to see the next iPhone stuck at the same size.

HTC are ready to show off their new budget offering, the HTC desire C in an official trailer video. It packs a 3.5 inche screen with a 320 x 480 resolution, that HVGA for those concentrating, a 600 MHz processor and 4Gb of built in memory. It comes with Beat Audio built in and like the One series 25 GB of Dropbox storage. T-Mobile UK have confirmed that it will be available for £169.99 on pay as you go and free on £15.50 per month contracts. We feel the HTC Desire C is a bit pricy for the what you would get, for example you can get the very competent Huawei Ascend G300, which has far superior specs and nearly at a paltry £100 pay as you go.

Here I review the 1mm Ultra Thin case for the Samsung Galaxy Note from Ebay seller get_it_now_hk. The case is extremely thin – it add next to no bulk to the device and the cuts are very accurate, but on the downside, the case is rather slippery, does not protect the screen and offers little impact protection. In my view this case is a good and cheap alternative to skins like BodyGuardz.
