"We have launched Oseltamivir brand, called Antiflu, which is the only flu medicine from India to be prequalified by World Health Organization (WHO)," Cipla's Chairman and Managing Director, Y K Hamied said in Mumbai on Wednesday. This, without a doubt, is an amazing feat and it is to be noted that Roche, the Swiss pharmaceuticals group which makes Tamiflu, a prescription drug has treated in the region of 42 million patients of H1N1 in about 80 countries worldwide.
Antiflu would be available both as capsules and liquid, will cost Rs 475 for 10 capsules, with 75 ml syrup will be similarly priced.

While i was going thru some forums in orkut read this interesting story of a boy getting HIV infection...i thought to share it with u all…below are post found in forum…
Dear All,

It's in INDIA - Karnataka - Bangalore

A 10 year old boy, had eaten pineapple about 15 days back, and fell
Sick, from the day he had eaten. Later when he had his Health check
done.....

doctors diagnosed that he had AIDS.

His parents couldn't believe it...Then the entire family under went a
checkup... none of them suffered from Aids. So the doctors checked again
with the boy if he had eaten out....The boy said 'yes'. He had pineapple
that evening. Immediately a group from the hospital went to the
pineapple vendor to check.

They found the pineapple seller had a cut on his finger while cutting
the pineapple; his blood had spread into the fruit.

When they had his blood checked...the guy was suffering from AIDS...but
he himself was NOT aware. Unfortunately the boy is suffering from it
now..

Please take care while u eat on the road side (particularly tasty vada
pav & Paani Puri) and pls fwd this mail to your dear one's.

But interesting part is how HIV is transmitted through pine apple…
Many people expressed their views about this report been false…
Some of their reasons were :
1)blood will get clotted.

2)all proteins wil get denatured in presence of the acidic content of stomach.(i dont know if the boy has any history of stomach ulcers,but at young age,its unlikely.
Below are possible theories how it might have spread :

1)may be the blood from the hands of the fruit cutter got transmitted via the mouth of the boy(as mouth/gums is full of cuts which we cant see,at all times)-that can transmit(rarely)
2) Pineapple contains a natural anticogulant Bromelain which might have prevented clotting.
Bromelain is also proteolytic whereas HIV virion has outer lipid membrene.
And as most of us experience eating pineapple causes minor cuts in mouth, through which viron can enter.
