Chapters have now pages where their organizers and members are listed and that are linked to user profile pages.

See for example Helsinki chapter's page.

User profiles featured

As some have noticed, user profiles have about field which you can use to tell more about yourself.

Checked our users today, I found five members (other than me) who have written some description of themselves.

eortiz

Lars

mbadita

IPsvcsSME

bweekes

If you're interested in having user profiles or building social networking services here on the MobileMonday site, please let us know about your ideas and needs.

I'd prefer using existing services (say Jaiku, LinkedIn) and integrating them here with our chapter user database.

User profile page design has been improved a bit also.

MoMo Amsterdam Jaiku channel

I found out yesterday, that people at MoMo Amdsterdam have created Jaiku channel.

Let us know if you're interested in using Jaiku by editing your profile and adding your Jaiku username there so that we could find out how many MoMo members also use Jaiku.

I have some wild ideas of how we could use Jaiku to add some new features to MobileMonday events and this website. We're working on the feature of listing chapter members that have marked their profile as public or visible to other users.

Chapter organizers: To be listed on the contact page, your profile has to bee public.

Public contact information on the contact page is based on the data saved in your profile in our database.

If you're a chapter organizer, you should create an account and then contact us to grant you organizer status in our system. Mark your profile public so that your contact information
will be visible to other users as your profile page will be linked to contact page.

Registered users can now finally edit their personal information as well as choose if their profile will be public to other registered users.

If logged in, you can change your Jaiku screen name on the profile editing page. Go to my profile and see how it looks like.

Some design needs still to be done on the profile pages. Profiles are visible only to registered users at this time.

Jaiku support

Users will soon be able to give their Jaiku username, so that we can display their Jaiku status and find their contacts that are registered members too.

Users can also define their personal API key (that will then be encrypted and kept safe in the database) and that can be used to access non-public data from their contacts maybe even invite other MoMo users to Jaiku.
