This time, the project is located in Abu Dhabi &#8211; United Arab Emirates, where the high sun exposure and setting has allowed this fantastic final result.</strong></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">This new project involved the supply of about 3.000m2 of exterior wall cladding, using the Portuguese beige limestone <a href="https://www.mocacream.com/blog/videos/how-to-choose-moca-cream-limestone-from-portugal" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Moca Cream</a>. The cladding had different elevations and a very large surrounding compound wall, pretty much all covered with the unique <a href="https://www.mocacream.com/blog/videos/how-to-choose-moca-cream-limestone-from-portugal" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Moca Cream limestone</a>. The supply included just one size of 80x40cm, whereas specific cutting was done on site. The <em>beautiful light beige color, delicate vein and consistent color</em> were the highlights of this project.</span></p>
<p>The <a href="https://www.mocacream.com/description" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Moca Cream limestone</a> is competitive in terms of price, abundant in terms of supply and presents a unique vein that does wonderful jobs in exterior cladding application, like no other limestone. For these reasons, we see an exponential growth in demand for this limestone for cladding projects of private villas, in particular in GCC countries.</p>
<p>We present below pictures of this fantastic villa in Abu Dhabi, where you can see the unique look and style that the <a href="https://www.mocacream.com/description" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Moca Cream limestone</a> provides on such application.</p>

<p><span style="color: #000000;">Since the <a href="https://www.mocacream.com/blog/projects/moca-cream-limestone-project-qatar-embassy-in-brussels" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Qatar Embassy project in Brussels</a>, which involved the supply of considerable amounts of Moca Cream limestone for all its exterior and interior applications, that we have seen an increase of demand of the beautiful <a href="https://www.mocacream.com/blog/videos/how-to-choose-moca-cream-limestone-from-portugal" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Moca Cream limestone</a> in the Qatar market. </span></p>
<p>Today, we can find numerous examples of mostly residential cladding projects done with this type of limestone, where the parallel vein is much appreciated on both traditional and modern architecture. Traditionally, beige/sandy colored limestones are very appreciated in <em>Qatar for exterior applications like cladding</em>. Historically, supplied with limestone from <em>Palestine, Egypt or even Jordan</em>, residencial cladding projects in Qatar have seen an increase in demand for newer types of limestone like the <a href="https://www.mocacream.com/description" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Moca Cream</a>. This limestone is today a common choice among designers, architects and developers in Qatar and a <a href="https://www.mocacream.com/blog/market/moca-cream-limestone-cladding" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reliable choice for cladding applications</a>.</p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">The climate conditions of high sun exposure, combined with the sandy location, makes the <a href="https://www.mocacream.com/blog/videos/how-to-choose-moca-cream-limestone-from-portugal" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Moca Cream limestone</a> a wonderful choice to be used on cladding applications in Qatar. </span></p>

<p>Designed by the renowned <a href="https://www.jaspers-eyers.be/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Belgian architect Jaspers-Eyes Architects</a>, the <a href="http://www.qatarembassy.be/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Qatar Embassy project in Brussels</a> is an impressive building, entirely covered with <a href="https://www.mocacream.com/blog/videos/how-to-choose-moca-cream-limestone-from-portugal" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Moca Cream limestone</a>. The limestone was extensively used on diverse exterior applications, such as <strong><em>cladding, masonry and some wall coverings</em></strong>, but specially on interior applications such as<strong><em> flooring, wall coverings, columns, staircases, bath decoration</em> </strong>and more. The idea of the project was to cover it entirely with this wonderful, which is today a reference beige limestone in Qatar. After its completion in 2014, the project was awarded with the <a href="https://www.febe.be/fr/realisations/detail/outstanding-precast-award-2014-pour-les-coupoles-de-l%E2%80%99ambassade-du-qatar?utm_source=febe&amp;utm_medium=fork-search&amp;utm_term=qatar" target="_blank" rel="noopener">FEBE Outstanding Precast Award.</a></p>
<p>The final result is a beautiful and elegant building on the exterior and quite a magnificent decoration on all the interiors, particularly in the main hall.</p>

<p>We make here a brief comparison between both limestones, on an attempt to demystify any doubts that people may have about these two <strong><em>beautiful Portuguese beige colored limestones.</em></strong></p>
<h2>Limestone comparison</h2>
<p>Both <a href="https://www.mocacream.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Moca Cream</a> and <a href="https://www.moleanos.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Moleanos</a> are <em>beige colored limestone that are extracted in the central part of Portugal</em>, at the main limestone extraction area in the country. Technically these two limestones share a similar history and composition background, with its extraction areas being only separated by not more than 20 kilometers.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-683" src="http://cdn.mocacream.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/medium-grain-comparison.jpg" alt="Moca Cream vs Moleanos - medium grain" width="746" height="442" /></p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-686" src="http://cdn.mocacream.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/fine-comparison.jpg" alt="Moca Cream vs Moleanos - fine grain" width="746" height="442" /></p>
<p>Despite these common points, there are three main factors that distinguish both limestones from each other:</p>
<p>&#8211; <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Appearance</span></strong>: while the <a href="https://www.moleanos.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Moleanos</a> is characterized by its <em>fairly uniform beige colored background</em> (with some presence of fossils), the <a href="https://www.mocacream.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Moca Cream</a> main characteristic is its <em>uniform parallel vein and beige colored background</em>.</p>
<p>&#8211; <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Technical properties</span></strong>: the <a href="https://www.moleanos.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Moleanos</a> limestone is a f<em>airly harder type of limestone</em>, being commonly used in distinct <strong><em>flooring applications</em></strong>. This is not the case with the <a href="https://www.mocacream.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Moca Cream</a>, which <em>does not have such hardness</em>, being mostly used in <strong><em>coverings and cladding applications.</em></strong></p>
<p>&#8211; <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Variations</span></strong>: this is perhaps one of the points where these limestone diverge the most. While the <a href="https://www.moleanos.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Moleanos</a> present some <em>blue color variations in relation to the beige color</em>, the <a href="https://www.mocacream.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Moca Cream</a> can have variations as <em>cross cut or vein cut.</em></p>
<h2>Alternative limestones?</h2>
<p>Despite these evident differences, can we consider the <a href="https://www.moleanos.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Moleanos</a> an alternative to the <a href="https://www.mocacream.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Moca Cream</a> limestone, and vice-versa? In many cases yes.</p>
<p>These two limestones have few things in common, where it is possible to find the exact type of variation that match the other limestone. For example, on the picture below, you can see how visually similar the <a href="https://www.mocacream.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Moca Cream</a> fine grain cross cut is in relation to the <a href="https://www.moleanos.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Moleanos</a> fine grain. We see that the <a href="https://www.mocacream.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Moca Cream</a> presents a shadow structure with some dispersed grain, while the <a href="https://www.moleanos.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Moleanos</a> presents a more uniform grain background. However, if we present both limestones with a honed finishing, it will be <em>fairly hard to tell the difference.</em></p>
<p>This is a good example on how <strong><em>these two limestones can be alternatives to each other</em></strong>. They are technically different, but if we are trying to match appearance, it is possible to find a result.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-685" src="http://cdn.mocacream.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/cross-cut-comparison.jpg" alt="Moca Cream cross-cut vs Moleanos - comparison" width="746" height="442" /></p>
<p>But despite any possible attempts in trying to present these limestones as direct competitors and alternatives, the <strong><em>reality is that they are fairly different limestones</em></strong> that often cater to different market segments and projects. And they will both continue to have their <em>own individual identity as reference beige limestones.</em></p>

The limestone was used for both exterior wall cladding as well as interior wall cladding of the HQ of a large South African bank: the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nedbank" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><em>Nedbank</em></a>. The Moca Cream limestone was supplied with <em>medium grain and uniform parallel vein, as well as a honed surface</em>.</p>
<p>The result was an imposing building exterior façade that represents well the durability, strength and solid structure that this reference bank wanted to display.</p>
