Have you decorated pumpkins yet?? I certainly hope so, though a lot of people love waiting until the last minute. While I love carving pumpkins, I really love painting them!

There’s something to be said for buying a faux pumpkin at the craft store and doing something unique with it. Paint is a huge part of that, but Mod Podge is as well. I always use it to seal my creations.

Of course you can use any of these pumpkin designs for real pumpkins, too. It’s not going to make the gourd last any longer, but it’s still pretty fun!

Ideas for Painting Pumpkins

For this Halloween decor roundup, I picked some of my favorite no carve projects, and I think you’re going to love them as well.

When you don’t carve a pumpkin, your best bet is to either paint it, or decoupage it, or both. That’s what we’re doing with all of these ideas. Some are one, the other, or a combination!

Best Paint for Pumpkins

If you’re wondering what kind of paint to use, I can help you – because I’ve tried them all. You can use the following types of paint on pumpkins, real or fake:

• Chalk paint – I recommend FolkArt Home Decor Chalk
• Acrylic craft paint – I recommend Apple Barrel, FolkArt (including multi-surface)
• Spray paint
• Tempera paint
• Latex paint

The outside of a pumpkin (whether it is really or fake) is really smooth, so I find that watercolors (or anything runny) isn’t as great for painting them.

My favorite type of paint is FolkArt multi-surface. It works well in terms of sticking to the surface of the pumpkin, and the colors cover well and remain vibrant (plus can tolerate some weather).

Spray Painting

Spray painting pumpkins is totally possible and not hard to do, though you need some patience. Place the gourd down on a paper bag and spray at least 12″ away.

You’ll want to spray several times, using a light coat every time you spray. It’s pretty standard spray painting, but you have to be careful around the curves. You also have to wait until the top dries so that you can get the bottom.

Pumpkin Painting Stencils

You can use any stencil, however, my favorite are the flexible or adhesive kind because of the curves. The cardboard or paper stencils only work well if you have a l-a-r-g-e pumpkin surface on which to use them.

Stenciling on punkins is pretty easy to do and fun. I usually like to basecoat the entire gourd, let dry, and then stencil using complimentary colors.

Too early for Halloween – and a painted pumpkin idea? My friends, there is no such thing as too early in the world of crafting! That is what I love about being a crafter. I can be a rule breaker. By the way, am I the only person that refers to skeletons as “skulligans?” If you are out there, please identify yourself.

My first project of the season is this DIY pumpkin. It’s easy and uses Mod Podge as a sealer . . . and it’s NO CARVE. There’s some painting involved but it’s fun, and you also get to use white transfer paper.

Ooh la la. This purple and black and glitter painted pumpkin will be loved by you for years to come, guaranteed. Here’s how to make this skeleton pumpkin.

Gather These Supplies

• Craft pumpkin – in black, preferably
• Skull and crossbones clip art printed out to fit the pumpkin – I got mine from Microsoft Clip Art
• FolkArt Paint – Licorice, Dove Gray, Metallic Silver Sterling
• Sparkle Mod Podge
• Purple or silver craft leaves
• Paintbrushes in two sizes – small and large
• Hot glue gun
• Pipe cleaners, black
• White transfer paper and stylus OR chalk
• Stencil tape

DIY Skeleton Pumpkin

Learn how to turn a plain faux pumpkin into a spooky Halloween skull pumpkin! It's very easy to do, and perfect for your holiday decor.

Equipment

• Paintbrush(es) two sizes – small and large
• Hot glue gun and glue sticks

Ingredients

• 1 Craft pumpkin
• Skeleton clip art printed out to fit the pumpkin
• Craft paint I used FolkArt – Licorice, Dove Gray, Metallic Silver Sterling
• Mod Podge Sparkle
• Purple craft leaves
• Pipe cleaners black
• White transfer paper and stylus
• Stencil tape

Instructions

• Paint the craft pumpkin with Licorice (unless you got a black craft pumpkin).
• Tape the white transfer paper behind the pattern onto the pumpkin surface. Use a stylus or pencil to trace the image, leaving the white lines behind.
  
• Use your small brush to paint in the skeleton design with gray paint. Follow the pattern lines as closely as you can. Keep painting until you’ve filled the skeleton completely in and then allow to dry. Don’t forget the stem.
  
• Use your small brush and silver to paint over the gray. It gives it a nice little sheen. Cover and then allow to dry. Paint the stem too.
  
• Coat the pumpkin with several layers of Sparkle Mod Podge, allowing to dry between coats. Set aside and allow to dry.
  
• While you are waiting for the pumpkin to dry, take some of the leaves and glue onto the ends of pipe cleaners.
  
• Once dry, wrap the pipe cleaners around a finger to make a curled vine effect.
  
• Using the hot glue gun, attach the pipe cleaner “vines” to the top of the pumpkin, then start attaching leaves. Let the glue cool completely before displaying.
  

Notes

Other methods for transferring the pattern if you don’t want to do transfer paper:

1. Cut out the image and hold it to the pumpkin, tracing around it in chalk (you can erase it later). Don’t draw so hard with the chalk that you create grooves in the pumpkin surface.
2. Turn the pattern over and color it with a white crayon. Tape it to the pumpkin and use a pencil to trace the lines, which will transfer the crayon to the surface of the pumpkin.

Skills Required: Intermediate Beginner. This autumn sign project will test your knowledge of Mod Podging pieces of paper without wrinkles. I give you tips below, but it helps if you have prior experience with Mod Podge since this is a large piece of wood.

Since autumn is here, I really wanted to make a new DIY fall sign for the house. I made a Harvest sign last year using vinyl, so this year I thought I’d give Mod Podge a try and see what I could come up with.

I was debating on a Halloween sign or general fall, and autumn finally won out. I knew I would be able to keep it up a lot longer if I did!

What I was really excited about was using some wood patterned scrapbook paper that I’ve had in my stash for a while now. I’m sure you know the feeling of pulling something out of your stash and finally using it. What can I say – it’s a rush.

My main recommendation for you is that you stick with a surface 12″ wide or smaller – OR the width of your scrapbook paper if it’s less than 12″.

That way you don’t have to patchwork everything together. It will make your life easier.

Gather These Supplies

• Mod Podge Hard Coat
• Wood – about 12″ x 32″ in size
• Mod Podge Brayer
• Mod Podge Brush Applicator
• Scrapbook paper for background
• Paper letters (cut with a die cutter or scissors, or letters of your choice)
• Craft knife and mat

Note that I found this scrapbook paper at Hobby Lobby. You can also find woodgrain scrapbook papers online.

Fall is such a fun time to decorate, it’s just makes me feel so happy. I’m super excited how it turned out, and I love the colors here. I feel it fits my style perfectly. I need to make a sign like this for Thanksgiving – and Christmas – and every other holiday!

DIY Fall Porch Sign

Learn how to make a fall sign the easiest way possible! This is a perfect seasonal craft for beginners.

Ingredients

• Mod Podge Hard Coat
• 1 piece wood about 12" x 36" in size
• Paper letters

Instructions

• Measure, mark, and cut the scrapbook paper to fit the wood (including the sides).
  
• Add Mod Podge to the sides of the wood. Place the strips down and roll with the brayer. Add more Mod Podge as needed. If any scrapbook paper comes up, add a little bit more Mod Podge and then smooth down again.
  
• Add paper to the front of the wood. I started at the top, by adding a layer of Mod Podge to the wood then laying the scrapbook paper on top. Use the brayer to smooth out any bubbles. Repeat until the top is covered. Let dry for 15-20 minutes.
  
• Apply a top coat of Mod Podge and let dry for 15-20 minutes. Trim the excess paper off around the edges with a craft knife.
• Use a cutting machine to cut out the letters, or use pre-cut letters from the craft store. For a drop shadow effect like mine, cut out two sets of letters in the same size but different colors.
• Decide on letter placement and apply Mod Podge to the back of the paper; smooth down. If you are using two sets of letters for shadow, let first set dry before applying second. Let letters dry completely.
  
• Add two coats more Mod Podge over the sign. Let dry for an hour before displaying.

I have something to admit. I’m not proud of it, but it’s the truth – I’m a Dollar Tree addict. Here’s the problem . . . my grocery store is in the same shopping center as DT.

And NOT just in the same shopping center, but right next door.

So the deal is, I have the ability to complete a grocery shopping trip and then pop right into the dollar store. Without even skipping a step or taking too much extra time. Isn’t it glorious?

I take advantage of this ability to visit DT regularly and see what’s new. I know the layout of the store well, and once you head in the door you make a right turn for the seasonal and crafts areas. It’s really easy to take a turn about the room, so to speak.

I’m excited this year for the Dollar Tree fall crafts . . . and sure enough, they have a lot of stuff I found on my last visit. There were wreath forms, wood shapes, confetti, faux leaves, beads, deco mesh, and lots of other goodies. So many good items for fall crafts for adults and decor.

This last week I was in Target and realized I hadn’t been to the craft section in awhile. I really like the colors of paint they have, the wood surfaces, and they also have Mod Podge (just as an aside).

I was hoping to find something cool to decorate . . . when I came upon a 2-pack of small paper craft pumpkins that needed . . . everything.

Little did they know, they were about to get a dazzling makeover, Mod Podge Rocks style!

I embarked on a mission to transform these little guys from ‘meh’ to ‘marvelous’, and guess what? You’re coming along for the ride.

You’re going to base coat these bad boys with some white paint, then add a touch of pizzazz with brightly colored tissue paper.

And to seal the deal, you’re going to coat them in Mod Podge. For the uninitiated, Mod Podge is like the fairy godmother of the craft world, turning everything it touches into something spectacular.

But I’m not just stopping there. We’re going to add Sparkle Mod Podge on top. Why? Because if there’s one thing I’ve learned in my crafting adventures, it’s that a little sparkle never hurt anyone.

Now, you might be thinking, “This sounds like a fun fall or Halloween craft for kids.” And you’d be right.

It’s the perfect way to spend an afternoon, especially when the leaves start turning and you feel that crisp autumn air. But here’s the secret – it’s not just for kids.

There’s something incredibly satisfying about transforming these plain paper pumpkins into something that could be a centerpiece at your next Halloween bash or a charming addition to your fall decor.

So, grab your Mod Podge and let me show you how it’s done. I promise it will be more fun than trying to carve a real pumpkin (and way less messy).

Gather These Supplies

• Paper craft or paper mache pumpkins
• White craft paint
• Tissue paper – orange and green for the stem
• Mod Podge – any formula
• Mod Podge Sparkle
• Ric rac trim (or yarn, ribbon, etc)
• Scissors
• Paintbrushes

Tips and Thoughts for This Project

The reason I paint the pumpkins with white craft paint is so the tissue paper *pops* off the surface. If you just apply the tissue paper, the brown will show through and the colors will look dingy. If you’re using something thicker like fabric pieces, you might not need to basecoat with white.

I applied the tissue to the top half of the pumpkin first, let that dry, then did the bottom half (and let it dry (turned over).

You can use Sparkle Mod Podge to apply the tissue paper, but I always use my basic formulas for that. That’s simply to make my bottle of Sparkle Podge last longer.

Ingredients

• Paper craft or paper mache pumpkins
• Craft paint white
• Tissue paper orange and green
• Mod Podge any formula
• Mod Podge Sparkle
• Ric rac trim

Instructions

• Paint both pumpkins with white acrylic craft paint. Let dry completely.
  
• While the paint is drying, cut the tissue paper into small squares and put into color piles for the kids.
  
• Do the stem by applying Mod Podge down on the surface, then smoothing one pieces of green tissue paper over the top.
  
• Smooth down the tissue paper around the stem with the brush, adding more squares as needed until covered. Let dry.
  
• Apply Mod Podge to a small section of the pumpkin and place a piece of orange tissue paper down. You don't need that much Mod Podge. Brush over the top to smooth. Continue adding squares to cover the pumpkin, working on section at a time. Let dry.
  
• Apply a coat of Sparkle Mod Podge over the top of the entire pumpkin and let dry. Add more for more glitter if desired.
  
• To finish, cut a piece of ric rac or ribbon and tie onto the pumpkin stem.

I’ll never forget carving pumpkins for Halloween when I was little. We had a furniture dolly that my dad used to take the trash cans out each week, and one day he brought home the largest pumpkin I’ve ever seen on that furniture dolly – for us to carve!

My brothers and I were excited until he opened it up. The smell and the squishy insides were enough to make us run squealing!

I’m much more into no carve pumpkin ideas these days. Decorate a pumpkin with no mess, no skill set . . . no knives. Though you can carve them with knives if you like.

But my preference is decorating them with Mod Podge! It’s so easy to embellish pumpkins with decoupage medium . . . even a kid can do it.

And this decorate a pumpkin project fits into that category. The only choice you need to make is your favorite paint and tissue paper colors. Learn how to decorate a pumpkin with Mod Podge below.

DIY Confetti Pumpkin

Gather These Supplies

• Faux pumpkins, white, any size
• Acrylic paint, colors of your choice
• Mod Podge Matte
• Tissue paper
• Circle punch or template and scissors
• Paintbrush

Step One: Select your paint and tissue paper colors. Paint the stems of your pumpkins with several coats and let dry.

Step Two: Punch a variety of circles out of your tissue paper. I used a 1 ½ inch punch. If you don’t have a punch, print a circle template online and use it to trace and cut.

Tip for punching tissue paper: it’s not going to work with one sheet. You need about six sheets or more for the smoothest cut. And gently pull the tissue out of the punch end as it’s easy to tear!

Step Three: Apply your tissue paper confetti circles to the pumpkin in a random fashion as shown. Place a bit of decoupage medium on the pumpkin, place the circle on top, and lightly brush it down.

You don’t want to brush too much on your first layer because you can start rubbing some of the ink out of the paper; so be gentle!

Let dry and then give your pumpkins a final coat of Mod Podge. Display for the fall and holiday season. Too wild for Thanksgiving? I don’t think so.

Have you ever thought about using an item from the ground outside in your fall decor? What about the almighty acorn? They are one of my FAVORITE surfaces to use for fall, and I love that they can be used through Thanksgiving as well.

And of course, I love how budget friendly acorns are. When you collect them from the ground, they are completely free. It doesn’t get any better than that! Add some glitter? Life changing.

Autumn Acorn Decor

Before I share my acorn decor, I’m going to answer a few commonly asked questions about this project. If you want to set yourself up for glitter acorn success, keep reading. Otherwise you can scroll down for the tutorial.

Glitter and Mod Podge Ratio

There’s no “correct” ratio for the amount of Mod Podge and glitter you should use for this project. I typically like to start with about 1/8 cup Mod Podge and about half a small container of glitter. I don’t make a huge batch because I can always make more and I’m trying to avoid waste.

Glitter – I find that the fine or extra fine glitters work the best, though you can really use any kind. The chunky isn’t as good for small surfaces like acorns.

Mod Podge – you can use any formula. I used Gloss, because in my mind the most shiny formula is the best. I feel that Matte or Satin would dull the glitter too much.

To answer another question you’ll certainly have, the Mod Podge only dulls the glitter slightly. Any acrylic based product will. You can see from the final photos though, my glitter acorns are still quite sparkly.

Acorn Decor – Real or Fake?

You can use either real or fake acorns for this acorn decor. If you use real acorns, you definitely need to make them. Find out how to dry acorns the right way so that you don’t have any issues with “beasties.”

I never realized that (some) acorns have worms inside of them that are still there when they’ve fallen from the tree. You don’t want them in your house, so BAKE the acorns before using them for crafts.

Now – you might be in a warm climate and no acorns have fallen yet, or maybe there are no oaks where you live. It’s okay! You can use unfinished wood acorns instead. I purchased mine online from Amazon.com.

DIY Glitter Acorns

Gather These Supplies

• Real or unfinished wood acorns
• Mod Podge Gloss
• Glitter in your favorite color
• Acrylic paint to match the glitter
• Paintbrush
• Silicone craft mat or wax paper
• Mixing container for the glitter and Mod Podge

Your first step if you collected acorns from the ground will be to clean and bake them. Little worms can hide in acorns, and you don’t want them coming out while you are crafting! Learn how to dry acorns for craft projects.

Clean any dirt or debris off of your acorns and place them in a single layer on a cookie sheet. Bake them at 175 degrees (or the lowest setting) for 1.5 – 2 hours, turning every 30 minutes. This will completely dry them out.

If you purchased unfinished acorns, you’re ready to go.

Use your acrylic paint to paint the base of your acorns in the color that matches your glitter. This step is important so the glitter doesn’t look splotchy and so that your acorn base looks consistent.

Tip: Paint your acorns on one side, let dry, then flip and paint again. I didn’t paint the tops because I like the natural look of the top of an acorn, including on the unfinished wood ones!

I have a unique, no mess way for you to apply the glitter! You’re going to need your glitter color and Mod Podge Gloss.

I poured about 1 – 1.5 ounces of Mod Podge into the side of a recycled snack container. They made perfect paint trays! Then I added ½ the container of glitter and stirred. You’ve made your own glitter paint with no mess application!

Apply this paint to the acorns as you did the paint; apply to one side, let dry, then flip and apply to the other. I did this several times and let my acorns completely dry before displaying.

I should note that I applied the glitter with a paint brush as shown above, but another good way to apply it is with a spouncer. Just don’t go over the same area – you’ll just spounce the glitter right back off.

With this glitter and Mod Podge, you’ll want to accumulate several layers rather than gooping it on. Go with a medium-thin layer, let dry, and then do another layer. You can keep adding as much as you like until your glitter acorns are as blingy as you want them to be.

Tip: apply the glitter paint to the acorns on a clear silicone mat or wax paper so that the Mod Podge doesn’t stick.

I LOVE my glittery acorn decor! You can use ANY color of glitter you like. Neutrals are big right now, but don’t be afraid to go bold and bright! Display these in containers on mantels or coffee tables, or even use them in a Thanksgiving centerpiece on the table.

As the vibrant colors of fall begin to paint the landscape, there’s nothing quite like capturing that beauty by preserving autumn leaves.

Whether you’re looking to use them in crafts, home decor, or simply want to hold onto a piece of the season, finding the best method to maintain their rich hues can be a challenge.

I decided to put four popular leaf preservation techniques to the test: Mod Podge, silica gel, microwave pressing, and vegetable glycerin oil. The goal? To determine which method works best to keep those beautiful colors lasting longer.

And as far as I’m concerned, there was a clear winner (hint: it’s the last method in this post).

In this post, I’ll share the results of my experiment, so you can choose the most effective way to preserve your fall leaves and keep the essence of autumn alive all year ’round.

Methods for Preserving Fall Foliage

A little research made it easy to find out what people are trying, and I wanted in on the action. As said, the goal of my experiment was to see which preserved the colors the best.

For all four methods below, you’ll need to make the leaves are dry before preservation. I used paper towels and pressed them gently.

You should also preserve leaves (and flowers) shortly after you pick them. Foliage can start to lose color quickly, so you’ll want to capture it before it fades.

Now let’s get into the methods.

Mod Podge

The first method tried was Mod Podge. Of course I had to start there, because that is a question I get asked quite often during the fall – can Mod Podge preserve leaves?

For this method, all I did was paint Mod Podge on the leaves and allow them to dry. Then I let the leaves age naturally.

This is no surprise to me. The reason is because Mod Podge is an acrylic, waterbased product. It can’t stop the chemical process of chlorophyll from breaking down inside the leaf.

Glycerin Bath

The second method I tried was glycerin, which involves putting leaves into a mixture of two parts water to one part vegetable glycerin. The mixture started to look questionable very quickly as color was released from the leaves.

Here are the resulting leaves after several days in the bath:

Silica Gel

Silica gel is commonly used to dry flowers, so of course I had to see how it worked on leaves! The process is simply. You’re going to find a container to house the gel (which is like sand) and sandwich the leaves down in it for several days.

Once the time is up, you’re going to gently remove the leaves from the silica gel.

The problem with this method is the fragility of the leaves. When pulling them out of the silica gel, they were fragile. Some of the tips and ends broke off of the more intricate leaves (as you can see in the photo).

I recommend this method – however, if you’re going to use it, keep in mind the fragility of the leaves when placing them in (and removing) the gel.

Microwave Press

I saved the best for last! I’ll just come out and say it – the microwave press is my favorite method for preserving the color in leaves. I use it for flowers, too.

The method is simple – you’ll purchase a microwave press like this one and sandwich the leaves between the layers. You heat the leaves in 25 – 30 second bursts, rather than one long session.

Check the leaves between heating. After a few minutes, the leaves will be completely dry. And the press can hold several layers at once!

The leaves come out beautifully and they *still* haven’t changed color months after the test:

PROCESS TIME: Minutes, or one hour tops.

RESULT: This was my favorite method! As you can see, the leaves retained their color fabulously. While they are a little bit fragile, it’s not as much as the silica gel. They are perfect for using in crafts.

And because Mod Podge is great for keeping the leaves from crumbling, you can paint a layer over the front and back to keep them together.

When it comes to autumn, I enjoy decorating. That’s because I really love the colors brown and orange (and even a nice yellow ochre shade) . . . after all, I’m the girl with the bright orange front door. The colors of the season inspire me, as well as the unique textures and smells.

Tips for Making Fall Signs

This year my mom and I were discussing what to put on our front porch, as she likes to change out the decor seasonally or even every month.

She was thinking about some projects to do for DIY fall signs since it’s about that time, so I sent her some ideas. This list below? It’s the very list I sent my own mother . . . so you know it’s good.

Choosing a Base

The first thing you want to do for any fall sign you plan to make is choose a base. There are a lot of possibilities, but here is what I would suggest you think about:

• Pre-made, unfinished wood pallets (made for crafting)
• Wood scraps from another project
• Scraps from the home improvement store (sometimes they will even cut them for you if you ask nicely!)
• Old pallet wood (learn more about it in my pallet projects article on DIY Candy)
• Wood surface from a thrift store
• Old cabinet door
• Canvas – either new from the craft store or painted over (because it doesn’t have to be wood!)

Prepare and Paint

The nice thing about fall signs is that they can be distressed – and to a certain extent, the more distressed the better! You just need to make sure your surface is clean and (optionally) sanded, and you’re ready to begin your projects.

Besides that, the most common supplies you’ll use are acrylic paint, Mod Podge, and stencils. There are a few other options though! Keep reading to get the ideas.

If you don’t think you can stencil, I beg to differ. Anyone can stencil, but it’s just a matter of knowing how to get clean lines. And the way to do that is to paint the area with Mod Podge first and let dry before using your stencil color on top. Now you’re ready to make it!

‘Tis the time of year for all things fall, and what’s more perfect for fall decor than a colorful bowl made of leaves?

I made this simple decorative DIY leaf bowl using a variety of colorful faux leaves, making it the perfect place to store fall decor like pine cones or acorns. You can also display this bad boy for Thanksgiving!

I’ve made this project many times over the course of the years, and both Mod Podge and Mod Podge Stiffy work to make the leaves stick together and form a stiff, cohesive leaf bowl.

HOWEVER – Stiffy, or another fabric stiffener, will make the bowl more stiff than just Mod Podge alone. That’s because Stiffy is specifically designed for a project like this.

Did you know you can get most of the supplies at the Dollar Tree? They sell faux leaves as well as balloons and brushes.

Tips for a Mod Podge Leaf Bowl

Before we get started with the project, I wanted to answer a few commonly asked questions that you might also have about this DIY bowl.

Bowl or Balloon?

In this tutorial we use a balloon, but you can absolutely use a bowl instead of a balloon. Basically you are just looking for a surface that is round/bowl-shaped as your form.

Keep in mind that you’ll want to cover the bowl with plastic wrap before using it as a mold, so that the bowl peels off easily when the project is done.

What types of leaves work best for this project?

You’ll want to use faux leaves – you can’t do this project with real leaves (I’ve been asked). I’ve had the most success with leaves that don’t have thick veins.

I find that the faux leaves with thicker plastic veins are harder to keep down on the bowl, so you’ll want them to be pretty flexible. That is why the dollar store leaves are typically the best – they are thinner.

Keeping the Leaves Down

You might find that the leaves keep popping up . . . and that’s where plastic wrap and rubber bands are going to be your best friend.

You’ll add all the leaves, THEN place a piece of plastic wrap over the top at the end, flattening all the leaves down. This might work – if the leaves are popping up under the plastic wrap, use a rubber band to hold them down.

Leave the plastic wrap on for quite awhile (several hours) until the leaves have formed to your balloon or bowl – then you can remove it. Whether or not you get popping leaves really depends on the type you use.

Make a cool Mod Podge leaf bowl using dollar store autumn leaves!

• Large balloon or large bowl
• Paintbrush(es)
• Small bowl
• Plastic wrap and rubber bands (optional)

Ingredients

• Fake maple leaves variety of sizes
• Mod Podge or Mod Podge Stiffy

Instructions

• Blow up the balloon and place tied-side-down in a bowl or cup so that the balloon stands up. Another alternative is that you can cover a large bowl in layers of plastic wrap.
  
• Pour Mod Podge or Stiffy into a small bowl and dip a large fake leaf into the mixture and use the paint brush to coat completely on both sides.
• Place the coated leaf on the balloon and use the brush to flatten it on the balloon. Repeat with additional leaves, layering them on top of each other until the entire bottom of the balloon is covered with leaves. Set aside to completely dry overnight.
  
• Gently pop the balloon. Carefully peel off the leaves. Shape the bowl slightly with your hands and let .
