			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Imagine a line of very normal looking clothing, average disposable day to day street wear being sold at a &#8216;reasonable&#8217; price at easily available mass chain stores and you have pretty much summed up what is being called a fashion line by the collaboration between Walmart, designer Max Azria and teen pop star Miley Cyrus.<br />
<span id="more-516"></span><br />
For the sake of arguement I had to take a step into Walmart in an attempt to dispell my own fears that this line is just another attempt to stuff normal clothing with special tags down the gullets of our already bloated disposable fashion bellies. Nope sure enough, step into a Walmart or Target near you and I promise you will see enough of bargian clothing to tantalize your thrifty senses.</p>
<p>Let it be known that I have my own share of ordinary clothing and that some of the best finds are those that elude to more than they were purchased for. I suppose I long for the pretentious, sheek and expensive revolutions that seem to be in such short supply.</p>

The GG2G gals  made this series of limited edition totes using their billboards featuring Lota the Elephant. Lota suffered in chains behind bars and in the circus for the majority of her life. Thankfully Lota was able to spend the later portion of her life in a sanctuary, something she could not have experienced without the hard work and dedication of compassionate individuals and groups that fought diligantly until her freedom was won. After a brief look at the Billionaire Mafia website I can see that this is not a rebranding just a way to gain more notice while doing the same thing they have been doing prior&#8230; in fact here is an exerpt from their &#8216;about us&#8217; section. &#8220;the first collection of Billionaire <span class="style3">mafia</span>. t-shirts were created in an abandoned liquor store converted into a design studio by Lana Fuchs. Growing up in the streets of Brooklyn, NY, Lana Fuchs created Billionaire <span class="style3">mafia</span>&#8221;<br />

Billionaire <span class="style3">mafia, </span>I am starkly unimpressed by your four color fruit of the loom tshirt. Do not pass go, do not collect two hundred dollars. please proceed back to your mafia headquarters and stay there until you have come up with something worth looking at.<br />

GG2G is one of the several leading companies, creating what is called green products. In the past, designers have refused to take part in the idea of recycling textiles, condemning their use as silly and impractical. While this is their choice I find it funny that some of these same designers have used a variety of items in their fashion shows to make it appear as if they are in support of such a business model.<br />
<br />
Every item that comes out of GG2G production is a one of a kind, their steeple textile are recycled billboards, a vinyl material that is used for several months then sent to the dump. Vinyl is a material, that has a very slow decomposition rate. GG2G estimates, that they have diverted thousands of pounds of material from entering the landfill, an accomplishment to certainly be proud of.<br />

Green friendly companies, have been an increasingly growing trend in the last year or so, with celebrities such as Paris Hilton endorsing what we should all have been paying notice to long ago.<br />
<br />
For the general populace the idea of clothing that is friendly to the ecosystem conjures up mental pictures of hippies of old, however in the past two seasons the goal has been to dispell the popular belief that an ensemble can not be trendy and also friendlier to the enviroment, the perfect blend.<br />
<br />
While this has been a battle fought for the better part of the last six or seven years, it is clear that these talented and creative individuals are nearing a turning point in a long war, slowly as the seasons draw forth and pass by, minds are being changed and new heights of creativity are being reached.<br />
<br />
So without further delay, I greatefully present &#8220;The Green Initiative Humanitarian Fashion Show&#8221; Los Angeles Fashion Week Spring 2009.<br />

In the current economic state designers have had to get creative in order to survive, others have folded completly. Joseph Domingo is a designer that has remained creative not only before but also throughout this crisis. Joseph Domingo is one such designer. resourcefull, creative but above all else his collections are always unique.<br />

This seasons collection is entitled &#8220;Skin&#8221; proves that “It’s not about being overtly sexy but being sensuous,” he points out. “For example, a bare shoulder can often be more alluring than being completely naked. It’s about the promise of possibilities.” The concept hinges on the art of seduction as personified by Joseph’s muse of the moment, the Greek goddess of love herself  &#8211; Aphrodite – and by women across the ages who knew exactly how much to unveil and how much to hold back.<br />
<br />
Included in the press release is a simple yet beautiful explaination; Featuring some 40+ pieces, “SKIN” adds an edge of desire to Joseph’s signature touches of lavish luxury. From light-as-air chiffons to smooth silk, seriously elegant fabrics range in color palette from nude tones and white to blush. Hems fall short or long with no in-betweens while silhouettes cling or delicately skim the surface of the body. Fabric overlays extend the theme along with fish scale, scallop and Garden of Eden leaf details. The women’s line is complemented by a small men’s collection in relaxed, sporty looks with equal emphasis on cream, navy and khaki. The Joseph Domingo Spring/Summer 2009 Collection is being sponsored by Elite Progressive Cosmetology.<br />

As the show glided to a close it was clear, that this season holds many sure selling ensembles for Joseph, a designer who more than deserves sucess.<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The collection kicked off with a beautiful opera style singer adorned in a loose fitting cream and gold chiffon dress, a move that held the audience in awe. Simply elegant is the phrase that would best describe Julia Clancey&#8217;s Spring 2009 colection. Greens, teal, blue and pink dominated the runway, with a dash of White gowns for a finishing touch.<br />

As the models came down all the dresses seemed to just flow efortlessly with them. There were several mini dresses that had a toga feel to them, accessorized with belts and large headbands adding a splendid finishing touch. Others were floor length and moved in the way a chiffon or silk would.<br />
<br />
As the twenty plus collection wound to a close, the final exit made her way onto the catwalk. Seeming not to be satisfied with a simple walk the final model gave the attendees a small show by twirling down the catwalk and creating a flowing effect that generated some more than lovely pictures.<br />

The collection in it&#8217;s entirity is beautifull, however it seems to lack the volume to express it&#8217;s true nature. 50&#8217;s Movie star glam was the prelevant theme, leaving quite a bit of skin hidden by todays standards as, well as a great deal to the sexual imagination.<br />
<br />
Kevan Hall has been reciving quite a bit of buzz. Information filtered down to me from New York that it is being said that Kevan Hall in six months time wont be able to beat the press off with a stick.<br />
<br />
