44 pounds

2012-04-17T14:10:00.000-07:00

i've lost 44 pounds in about a year and a half!
why is 44 a huge deal..well, i finally got into a new number bracket!!
i was bouncing around about 5 pounds and wasn't hitting my target weight.
so, 44 pounds was amazing to me!!

it's not fun losing weight.

in fact..i dread it.

i've lost weight slow so i could still enjoy life.(we love to go out!)

what sucks is i've had to lose 40 pounds plus, 4 times!! (4 kids)

i'm now on the road to losing the married weight,

and then on to the dating weight.

pathetic...i know.

i'm gonna be honest.

i'm not quit ready to share my weight.

only fellow chubbies and my sister know

the true poundage that still dwells on

my stomach and legs...actually everywhere.

i must say i am very excited to share that i'm a "true" 16!!

i also own one pair of 14 gap jeans.(that was the highlight of my month)

let me break it down for you:

im 5'11'

my goal is to lose 30...if i'm really motivated 40 more pounds.

my goal jean size is a 12.

i only weigh myself once a week..(at the gym.)

(my husband threw my scale away..he got sick of me getting down on myself.)

i started off doing the South Beach Diet... i lost 25 pretty quick doing this.

i then moved on to an app. called Lose It.

now, i'm doing a mix of both.

i also work out 4 days a week for an hour to an hour and a half.

i try to do a lot of weights.

i first started out running, but my body stopped changing.

i joined a gym and now i'm addicted to the classes!!

making these little changes have really made a difference.

here are my "before and afters"

happy weight loss!!!

nail polish in my carpet...GONE!!

2012-03-20T21:59:00.001-07:00

sunday was a seriously a crazy day.

while ironing clothes for church.

my little chicken decided to flip my laundry

basket over and take my nail polish down.

in the process he broke a bottle of redish nail polish

on my carpet!! i was up a creek...or so i thought!!!
i of course posted the pic. on my facebook and instantly
i had comments...but, one stuck out!
it was from my girlfriend tricia (check out her blog)
here's what she said:

I just want you to know that you can get nail polish out of carpet!!! I spent about 3 hours scrubbing it out once but it came out! Acetone (straight acetone you buy at the home improvement store) and before that Barbasol (the really cheap shaving cream) let the cream sit for a bit and then tons of Acetone!!! We got the carpets cleaned after that to get rid of the stench! Sorry about your day!

i took her advice and it worked.
i was lucky and didn't have to work on
it for very long.
it took me about 30 min. and that
junk was out!! i was soooo pumped!!
it was also the next day and dry!!

here is the before an after

via cell phone

i used acetone nail polish remover.

the culprit..i put him to work! ;)

it's GONE!!!

try it!!

i have some new/oldies i wanna

share with you!

i love finding and sharing new things

that i love!!

moroccanoil...its...amazing!

i put it in my hair when its damp and

blow dry. it leaves my hair silky and shiny.

the Brazilian Blowout!

i was a little sceptical.

i had the blowout done 2 weeks ago, and

let me make one thing clear..it's not a straightener.

it conditions and helps with friz.

it seriously cuts my straightening in half.

(i have curly, frizzy hair)

Arm and Hammer makes

a fantastic detergent.

it's cheap and smells sooo good.

this is a oldie but,... it is a goodie!

this stuff takes everything out!!

i love my Skull Candy ear phones!!

i can't say enough about them!

i use mine to run and they never..NEVER..

fall out!! i have tried everything!

(i have the ones in the top left..)

have you tried any of these products??

new dining room!

2012-03-03T08:54:00.000-08:00

for 5 years i've had my husband's

grandmother's ethan allen ancient

dining room set.

and it totally served it's purpose.

it was great for family get together's

and party's. the kids did homework and
crafts on it... but, it was UGLY!

it was time for a major change.

i didn't want anything too formal.

i wanted the table to be big and solid.

i didn't want to pay a fortune, and i

wanted to mix the chairs.

here are some before and afters.

BEFORE:
(my living room has changed in the process as well.)

AFTER:

this has to go!

(if you want my fan...let me know!)

what do you think?

2012-02-25T07:42:00.000-08:00

in december we gave our OFFICE a much

needed "face lift".
we did it in record time...it was crazy!! (2 weeks)

i think it turned out really nice and it

was less expensive than doing

a complete remodel.

check it out!

we bought new furniture.

hung a new pic. of the kids.

new carpet and wall paper.

i love the bench.

we added laminate wood flooring.

what do you think?

HUGE improvement,...right??

here are some pics. of the old office.

mantel dilemma

2012-02-18T08:00:00.000-08:00

do you have a hard time decorating

your mantel??

i have the hardest time!

do i want one thing, or a couple?

do i want pictures?
should i keep it simple?

do i want a mirror or a plant?

what do i do?!?

here's what i came up with!

i love it!

(ignore the child proof lock..)

here's my little helper adding her finishing touch.

are a few mantels i'm liking...

i've decided you can pretty

much do anything.

what do you think?!

the BEST chewy chocolate chip cookies!!

2012-02-16T14:17:00.000-08:00

hands down these are the

BEST chocolate chip cookies!

ingredient.....instant vanilla pudding!

this makes the cookies super moist

and chewy.

happy "balentimes" day!!

2012-02-14T11:44:00.000-08:00

isn't Valentine's day such a neat holiday?

it's a great way to let our family and

friends know how much we love them.

i love it!

this year our church put on a dance

"a night in paris"

it was really fun and the decorations

were amazing!

(the budgets are always pretty tight)

here are a few pics. from our

night in paris.

the eiffel tower was made out of cardboard and

they hung little lights from fishing wire to simulate a night sky.

amazing,..right?

murrals were painted and hung.

they had a band.

heres my valentine!

we sat with a great set of friends!

bee and her valentine.

mom and dad.

they are so cute. :)

in the shopping department.

this store NEVER lets me down.

i love their furniture, jewelry, food, and gift wrapping stuff.

(my husband loves their speciality drinks)

here are few of my new

favorite things.

i love this table runner.

this coffee table is so nice.

you can add stuff under the glass.

(my little chicken would crash through the top)

so, what do you think??

they always have great deals and you can

find a coupon online!

seriously!?

2012-01-23T16:14:00.000-08:00

yes,... it's been over a year

sense i started redoing my

master bedroom.

i feel like it's a constant work in progress.

do you feel like that?

do you change your mind as much as i do?

well, i was so excited about the new

target line that i had to incorporate it

into my bedroom.

my bedroom is super feminine and light

and this new decor was going to go

perfect in my room!

what do you think?

i just ordered a new bolster pillow

from etsy.

the horse head is from target.

my new chevron pillow, and 3 pics. are

from target.

i must admit.

i don't usually decorate all from one store.

but, this was all PERFECT!!

2012-01-20T14:57:00.000-08:00

last night i was officially introduced

to the super easy to apply

CHALK PAINT!!

check them out!

they carry

Annie Sloan

chalk paint and teach

classes on how to apply and

do different techniques!

i was super excited and was dieing to try it!

so, i decided to invite

some friends for a workshop!

we had a lot of fun and i can't wait to

to "embellish & restore"

something else!

1.we used old cabinet doors.

2. painted the inside with

chalk paint.

3.picked an annie sloan chalk paint color.

4.painted around the edge.

5. dried FAST!

6. waxed.

7. some of the girls added a stain.

p.s...you can add hooks or handles to your board for cuteness.

THE END

moddy's family pics.

2012-01-17T22:46:00.000-08:00

i love getting our family pictures taken.

yes, it's a huge pain in the rear.

the outfits, whinny kids, making people laugh,

picking the location..blah..blah...blah.

it's just not fun in the midst of the craziness!

but, the end results make it all worth it.

we had my dear friend

Jan (check her cute blog out here) do our pictures this year.

she is a wonderful photographer and

great gal to work with.

2012-01-13T09:09:00.000-08:00

easy crockpot chili verde

2012-01-08T22:10:00.000-08:00

i love the crock pot.

i especially love it in the winter.

i must admit im a little picky about what

i put in my crock pot.

many who know me know i pretty much

gag at the thought of using

cream of ANYTHING in my food.

but, most crock pot recipes use it!

so, here is a fabulous chili verde recipe

that is a huge crowd pleaser in my home.

oh, and it doesn't have an ounce of cream of gag in it!

put one onion, 4 pounds cubed pork shoulder (i had the butcher cube it for me),

1tsp. salt, and 1/2 pepper in a pan.

cook until browned.

you'll need one can of this.

one can of this.

and one jar of this.

put browned meet and onion in crock pot.

add 1/2 tsp. cumin, and a little more salt and pepper.

(i always add more salt...i love salt)

dump all of the jar/cans on top.

let cook for 6-8 hrs. on low.

fast, huh!?

eat with flour or corn tortillas.

i like a little sour cream on top.

ENJOY!

moddy

target has done it again!

2012-01-04T09:19:00.000-08:00

i laughed so hard i cried and then couldn't wait to

share it with my husband!!

do you ever do that...find/hear/see something funny and can't wait to tell your husband?

if he laughs super hard do you feel really proud of yourself?

well, if you know my husband...he laughs (he has a cute laugh) at almost everything.

(he also makes me feel pretty darn funny.)

ok, so make my day...read this blog and let me know what you think!!

office "face lift"

2011-12-28T14:48:00.000-08:00

my husband and i bought our dental practice

3 years ago and could not wait to remodel!!

the office was seriously outdated and was in

need of some TLC.

the downside is we don't own our building, and

we didn't want to drop a lot $$ to remodel.

so, to save some money and still change the office look,

we did what you call a

"face lift".

here are the before pics.

we are installing laminate wood flooring

in the exam rooms.

we are getting new pictures and frames.

(i'm thinking aluminum frames.)

were covering the couch and getting new chairs.

(the "grecian" floor lamp is going...bye, bye.)

we are changing the wall paper and counter tops.

unfortunately were stuck with purplish cabinets.

it's ok though...we are gonna make it work!

stay tuned!

does your tree look like

THIS!!!

(see the chair on top of the armoire...the 19 month old climbs on EVERYTHING!)

i know....sooo bad. the star is barely holding on and

the tree leans to the right a little.

do your kids hang 5 ornaments off of one pathetic branch?

do your kids rearrange your ornaments?

does your 19 month old chicken pull the lights off and unplug them

allllllllll day long?

have your kids lost all the little hooks to your ornaments?

do they get caught in your vacuum?

do you store those ornaments on the top off the tree?

(in hopes that you'll eventually re hook them.)

well, if you don't have any of these problems...

your lucky.

but, i will say there is nothing like a family tree.

i love the unmatched ornaments.

each one has a memory, and

the kids have some of their very own.

someday i'll have a perfect tree.

but, that might make me a little sad.

because someday i wont have all these

chickens to ruin it!

(they will have their own little chickens ruining theirs!)

on a side note

here are some of my favorite trees

ENJOY!
