All the hype of the new game Crysis seemed to not help its sales very much. Even with a metareview score of 91. Two reasons can be attributed to this. One Crysis has a very high hardware requirement. A PC with a dual core processor, 2GB of RAM and a mid-level DX10 card runs the game at around 30 framers per second average at midrange resolution.

Two, The FPS market is crowded to say the least. Crysis launched during a time when BioShock, Halo 3, Call of Duty 4 and The Orange Box have been occupying shelf space.

Research firm NPD Group said that EA and Crytek’s critically lauded FPS Crysis sold just 86,633 units last month, following its release on November 13. Not very much for all the hype.

Valve has just released another set of team fortress 2 stats. Most of the stats confirm what we all thought or guessed.
What I found to be more interesting was the cool “heat” like demographics. As you can see below Valve has also released maps and the spots where people are often killed. Red shows spots of most kills and green and blue the lowest. Hmmmmm…. do I smell some strategies going on here? Note* demographic maps are on bottom of valve stats page.

They did not reveal when the actually closing would take place. Best Buy was the main contributor to their close. Many people had bad experience in their customer service. Any who I would definitely look out for closing announcements and ads. You will be able to get great prices soon, (maybe better than black Friday!) expect it to go quick when it happens.

UPDATE:!!!!!! They are expected to go out sometime this january. It is not known when though. Any ways here is the link to a leak of the price discounts. Enjoy!

With the request from “counterflow” on the Team Fortress 2, Using your spy disguise comments and the shear number of views I have received from this post. I decided to make another guide on another hard class to play. The scout!! Every time I played the scout I had no clue how to abuse the scouts powers. I mean its the fastest class in the game it can double jump and some people don’t do any thing with it. I was one of these people. Scout is not one of my favorite classes, but I will let you into some secrets that helped me improve my skills playing scout.

First I would like to take a moment to go over the Scout arsenal. Scattergun(cut-off shotty), pistol, and bat. Now the damage factor of these weapons varies much. The scattergun is very poor at long to med distances. Short distance with the scatter gun is really is the only way to do major damage. I would recommend using your pistol for long distances. It is quite accurate. For the bat. Im not a fan of it. It has its uses.

Movement is very important for this class. Bottom line. If you don’t move you die. You can jump up to building and heights others cant. You run very fast. You can change positions in mid air. I mean there are tons of combinations you can do for tactics. The one that produces the most kills is staying behind your enemy. If you can stay behind your enemy they cant shoot you obviously. Use obstacles to your advantage. Dodge a bullet by zipping past a wall.

In this video below I think it shows how to move correctly and fight turrets and heavys.

Now I also should say what classes you should avoid.

PYROS!!!!! Pyros are your worst enemy. Pick fights with medics. I would say killing medics are your second goal. Your first being capturing points fast. Also pick fights with lone engineers, spys, and snipers. Classes I would stay away from: Soldiers, Heavys, and Pyros.

Demo and heavy’s are hard to tell. I think if you stay away from these classes you will do better. If you have to pick a fight. Stay at a range from a Demo and when fighting Heavy’s stay behind them.

ON a final note in the beginning first seconds your primary objective is to take points. Next would be kill sentry’s being built by engy’s ( you can take these with ease), then kill medics. This is what produces the best strategy for your team.

I really wanted to extend this topic into a first “mini-series” on this blog. Alot of my readers are at different levels of skills, and I thought I would “back it up” so to speak for some of you. I found a really great article on the basics to developing your own game. I found an article on ezinearticles.com just on this topic. I thought the author did a bang up job on getting to the point. [Game Developing Article]
